1. Scene one
Ext. Pengyeulan cottage wales
A newlywed couple, matt and daisy, are seen moving into their first home
carrying boxes of their belongings through the main entrance into the
living area. The building is dark and hoary; however the couple do not seem
to mind as they talk about their excitement of moving into their first home
to raise their first child
Matt
(Beckoning to the cardboard box he holds in his hands)
-Where should I put this one?
Daisy
(Points over to a corner of the room)
-I’m so glad we finally have a safe and happy place of our own
Scene Two
Ext. Pengyeulan cottage wales
Daisy is seen alone walking around an untouched part of the home and she is lead
into a dark room which contains a singular box which appears to be the belongings
of the previous owner. Daisy sits on the floor in front of the sealed box and opens
it, to reveal many dolls and doll parts but one stands out.
Daisy
-Matt can you come up here please?
-I’ve found this, perhaps we could keep it for the baby
Matt
-I guess we could, it’s kind of creepy.
Scene Three
Ext. Pengyeulan cottage wales
Matt and Daisy are stood at the front door as Matt is leaving for the night and
following day on a business-related trip. Matt works as an ICT Support Specialist
which involves him having to go on various trips to highly respected companies.
Daisy is bidding him goodbye but is nervous about staying in the new home alone.
Matt
-I will be back tomorrow, don’t worry you’re safe here. Call me if you need me.
(Matt kisses Daisy on the forehead as he leaves)
2. Scene four
Ext. Pengyeulan cottage wales
A few hours after Matt’s departure Daisy is looking at the dolls which she found
earlier in the day. She selects one and places somewhere she will find it easily
again as she plans to keep it for the child. However, when she leaves the room to
get herself some water she returns to find the doll is not where it was left. She
suspects that Matt had moved it to play a trick on her.
Daisy
(On mobile phone to Matt)
-Did you move the doll?
Matt
-You’re joking, aren’t you? I never touched that thing.
Scene six
Ext. Pengyeulan cottage wales
Matt arrives back at the cottage where he is greeted by Daisy however she still
believes that Matt is the one who moved the doll
Daisy
-It’s not funny Matt, I thought you were at work?
Matt
-I was at work, How could I have moved it?
Daisy
-How was it moving then?
Matt
-It isn’t moving it’s probably your anxiety from the baby
Daisy
-I know what I saw Matt
Scene 7
Ext. Pengyeulan cottage wales
Matt approaches Daisy to apologise for their earlier argument. To humour her
Matt suggests that they use a blanket to cover the doll to try to put daisy’s mind at
ease and make her realise that the doll is not moving around the home.
Matt
3. -Look I’m sorry about earlier, just cover it we will see if it moves
-You moved the doll didn’t you?
Daisy
-No! Why?
-Matt please, can we just throw it away?
Matt
-It’s just a doll the wind could have blown the scarf
Daisy
-Maybe but the wind sure as hell didn’t fold it
The couple then decide to draw on the floor in chalk around the doll to clarify that
it is moving
Matt
-Right we will put it back where we found it ok? We will tape the box, there will
be no way for it to get out
Scene 8
Ext. Pengyeulan cottage wales
Daisy is seen in a bath robe getting ready to go for a shower. She is walking
through the home gathering her things such as shampoo and shower gel. When she
enters the bathroom she sees that the doll had got out of the box and is in the
bathroom
Daisy
-Matt
Matt
-Are you ok? What the hell?
Daisy
-Please can we get rid of this thing?
Matt
-Ok, we will
Scene 9
Ext. Pengyeulan cottage wales
4. Matt is seen walking through the woods, shovel in one hand and the doll in the
other. He is seen burying the doll deep in the forest. After this Matt is seen
arriving back at the home. Matt is upstairs in the home. Daisy is seen in the living
area drinking a glass of water where there is then a door bell ringing. She opens
the door to see the hat of the doll sat covered in mud on the door step. She closes
the door quickly and walks back to the living area. The doll is sat covered in mud
in the middle of the living area. When she sees the doll Daisy drops the glass she
was drinking out of.
Matt
-We need to get rid of the doll
Daisy
-That’s what I’ve been saying this whole time
Scene 10
Ext. Pengyeulan cottage wales
Daisy is seen answering the door to the vicar. After a few minutes of the Vicar
burning some white sage and walking around the building with a cross in hand he
begins to inform the couple of his findings
Vicar
-I cannot sense anything harmful, I cannot perform the exorcism. Please do not be
too disheartened by this news as no harm will come to you. You’re clearly tired
and stressed with just moving house and having a bay on the way.
Scene 11
Ext. Pengyeulan cottage wales
As Daisy is still convinced that the doll is walking around at night Matt decides to
put flour outside their bedroom door to try and comfort Daisy that there is nothing
coming into their room.
Matt
-I know it is still bothering you. We will put flour by the door so you can see it’s
not coming in here
