Evaluation question 2

  1. 1. Evaluation Question 2How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
  2. 2. Same production logo that is shown in Short Film our poster and review to make our product look professional.Black and whitefilm to indicate the1940s time era. Play on words on our chose genre. Typewriter font stereotypical of the detective and crime genre. Main character Marilyn always in centre of the frame and this is also http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=px9zU5pIcd8 shown in the poster .
  3. 3. Poster Same fonts are used throughout the three tasks to create an individual image for the film. Cast and Director information is presented in all three products to inform the audience of the actors and the creators of the film.Use of strong, harsh colourssuch as black and reds, toconnote negativity.Running colour theme in allthree products.
  4. 4. Our made up film magazine to make our product more realistic ReviewRating out of 5 stars isgiven as shown in thefilm poster to attractaudiences to watch ourfilm. Same red and black Same picture from poster colour used so not to give to theme. much away from the overall film.Production companies web linkfor people to keep up to datewith the latest news andinformation.
  5. 5. Advertising Ideas Billboard adsMagazine Ad Bus Shelter
  6. 6. Advertising IdeasThe idea behind my advertising my film is displaying our films poster in built upsociable areas, such as shopping centre billboards and bus stop shelters, wherethe general public will be instantly drawn to the poster because it uses a whitestriking back drop with only one character shown. This will intrigue people asthere is little information that they can retrieve from the poster apart from thenecessary facts e.g. Actors, Director, Certificate, Production Company. Using theone image allows people to make the own judgements on what the film, howeverwe added simplistic clues such as the red coloured font and the fact that she islooking down in the pictures, suggests guilt and upset. We also thought of puttingour poster in niche market film magazines; such as Little White Lies and FilmMaker Magazine as they are ideal target audience. Our review we have created tobe shown in our own made up film magazine ‘Slice of Cinema’ which is a indie filmmagazine for niche market audiences.
  7. 7. USP (Unique Selling Point) The USP for our film is that it follows the film noir genre. I feel that throughout our three products we have presented this well, through costume, sound, camera work, editing and font styles. Keeping things the same or similar in all three products has enabled my finished product to look more like a professional media package.
  8. 8. Wider AudienceWe have a created our product for smaller audiences 15-25 however we feelthat our products will be able to appeal to wider audiences through ourchosen marketing techniques. The film and review itself may not instantlyintrigue them, but seeing the poster in built up public places, like shoppingcentres will instantly grab their attention as it is striking and eye catching. The films poster will also be displayed outside cinema screens as this is wherelarger audiences who enjoy a variety of films will be found. Social networkingsite will also have an impact in advertising our film, which will help attractaudiences massively as the majority of our target audience spend time onsites such as facebook and twitter so this would be the perfect opportunity tos how off our upcoming film.
