  • 2. Traditional vs. Digital Learning • Traditional view of education involved interaction between teacher, student and content. • What does Digital Learning look like? • What roles do teachers and students take on?
  • 3. Traditional vs. Digital Learning - Group 1 • The digital learning environment is “blown open”. Students interact with others across the Internet, often peers. • What other ways has learning been “blown open” or changed? • Brainstorm ways learning has changed in your classrooms. • What new directions are you planning to go this year?
  • 4. What type of 21st Century Learners are our students? Group 2 • Have the laptops changed the way students learn here at Hauser? • Are we participating in these shifts from “education” to learning? • Learning can happen anytime, anywhere. • Shift from consumption of information to participation in production where core learning can take place • Shift from thinking about institutions to thinking about networks • Has the technology created obstacles for some students?
  • 5. Have laptops impacted the way students learn? Group 3 • Are students more or less self- directed? • Do they learn in ways that involve peers as well as adults? • Are they involved in activities that engage their passions and their interests?
  • 6. Has it changed the teachers’ role? Group 4 • Do you teach differently? • Are you doing “stand and deliver”? • Has your role changed? • Do you have new challenges we need to address?
