2. Question 1: What did you think of the
camera work in my trailer?
From my audience feedback on my
camera work and shots I found out
that the shots kept tension in the
audience. Specifically the close ups
caused tension because it showed
that the victim had been attacked
by the blood on her face and if the
camera is closer then you can see
more of the kidnapper.
3. Question 2: What did you think of the
sound editing?
The majority of the
audience feedback showed
that the music I used was
scary and kept the tension
as if ‘someone was going to
jump out.’ Some people
answered that I used too
much of the same sort of
music and could of varied it
slightly though.
4. Question 3: What did you think about the mise-
en-scene used? (props, costume, setting)
I found out that people liked
the realistic costumes and
setting because it made it
easier to relate and feel more
scared. Someone answered
that the change in costume for
the victim was good because it
showed that something bad
had happened to her and they
thought they would be able to
see what happened to her in
the film and it would be scary.
5. Question 4: What did you think of the
editing in the trailer?
From the audience feedback I
found that people liked the
effect of ‘fade to black’
between each of the scenes.
They said they liked this
because it makes them feel like
the victim is blinking and it is all
a blur for her. This connotes
fear because she may have
been drugged or knocked out
so shows the brutality and
genre of the film.
6. Question 5: What was your favourite
part of the trailer and why?
I found out that the most
successful parts of the trailer
were the scream at the
end, where the victim turns
psycho, because it connotes
fear and is very harrowing.
Another part they liked the
best was where the kidnapper
comes into her house and
watches her sleeping because
she doesn’t know he is there
which makes it tense for the
audience.
7. Question 4: What were the strengths
and weaknesses of it?
The strengths of the trailer
according the my audience
feedback was that it was scary
due to the shots, editing and
sound. It made people want to
see the film and it portrayed
the genre accurately.
Weaknesses were that it could
be a little more fast paced with
more action and in some places
the clips could be a bit shorter
for example when she is eating
popcorn and watching tv.
8. Question 7: What could I improve on
in the trailer?
The audience concluded
that the trailer could be
slightly more fast paced.
They said to do this I
should make the clips a
bit shorter. They also
found that I should
change some of the
music on some parts.
