Mesa Watershed in East Fairview, Quezon City. It is owned by the Metropolitan Waterworks and
Sewerage System (MWSS) and is jointly operated along with the Quezon City government, Bantay
Kalikasan and other private companies.

Over the summer, my family and I travelled to Manila, the capital of the Philippines for three days.

friend of mine, Faye Cusipag, who is now a student in San Jose City College, majoring in Medical
Assistant and Psychology. Faye is an energetic and warm–hearted young lady who is serving her
internship at a hospital in Los Gatos, CA, with RAMBLC pediatric medical group. She loves
children, and this is the reason why she applies for this internship. Faye speaks fluently English with
no accent at all, which makes me first thought that she was native born. However, she told me that
she moved from Philippines with her mother and her little brother in 2005 because her mother
married her stepfather. It took them two days to get here since Philippines airline was not
convenience back that time. They first flew from Makati City, Manila, Philippines to Hong Kong,
and later transferred flight to Oregon, and finally flew to Crescent City, CA. Faye was sent to
International schools when she was in Philippines, where she learned her English so well, and that's

adapts American culture quicker than she images because all of her friends in Crescent City are

My Favorite Place At Z Hostel
After an amazing month in the Philippines my last stop was Manila.
The lovely people at Z–hostel had invited me to stay with them and – as you know – design hostels
are my favourite kind of accomodation and the Philippines have some of my favourite places in the
world, so I knew this would be good.
The Area
The hostel is located in Makati, one of the 16 cities that make up Metro Manila. It's the financial
centre of the Philippines and apart from the Stock exchange you'll find lot of entertainment and
several large malls there.
Just around the corner from the hostel there are little markets, restaurants and shops, while Z hostel

On one of the walls, there is a chalkboard area with information about the parties on the roof top,

In the Housing Backlog Study commissioned by the HUDCC, the Consultants prepared the
estimates of Informal Settlers in the Philippines. According to the Spatial Statistics of
Informal Settlers in the Philippines component of the Study, informal settler families reached an
estimated 550,771 households as of August 1, 2007. This is based on the extrapolation made using
the 2000 Census of Population and Housing (CPH) and the 2007 Census of
Population. The study showed that the highest concentration of informal settlers was in
