P1: should contain discussion about your obj. and scope //
what did you do? Why?
P2: description of the methods used
P3: summary of the results
P4: statement of the main conclusion // identify one
significant effect of your work.
Note: this is lastly done thus, it takes the past tense form
of the verb
Research Description / Introduction
• Include a hook at the beginning
• Indicate the area & the topic of your study
• State why the study is interesting, problematic and
relevant to you.
• State the bounds of your study.
• Explain why your work is necessary.
• Give a verbal road map or verbal contents to guide
readers what lies ahead.
Note: do not repeat statements in other areas of the book.

Background of the Study
• State more of the company background.
• It’s history
• It’s mission and vision
• The nature of the business / operation
• Services offered
• Are there branches? How many?
• Where this study took place? Location / Area.
• Personnel composition
• Days and time of operation
• Business progress /status
Objectives of the Study
• To analyze and describe how the manual system

• To identify the problems encountered by… To
develop an automated system for ….
• To show that the proposed sys. is technically,
economically and operationally feasible.
• To develop a system that will minimize the processing
time in accessing records and calculations.
• To build a system that produces accurate and error-free
results.

that can handle vast amount of information.

2. Overview of the Current State of Technology
P1: state the present GLOBAL state of tech. relative to
your study
P2: state the present LOCAL state of tech. relative to your
study
P3: state the present technology / tools your client is
using to process data
- Present methods / techniques used
- Problems encountered presently
- Rules and regulations (of the company // in
data processing)
Scope and Limitation of the Study - For whom
- What is the target of the study?
- Specify the area / range of the study o What
does it include in the study
o What does it exclude in the study
Significance of the Study
- State why the study is conducted
- Why it is important to
• Your client (internal entities)
• Their client (external entities) You (the researchers)
• Others (developers, students, researchers)
Related Literature Review
• Cite previous research area relative to your study
• Give a comparison of your work with closely related
efforts.
• Demonstrate the principal differences and similarities
with respect to:
- Details of the problem
- Approach
- Results
- Tools, methodology used
Note: as you compare with those of others objectively
weigh the advantages and disadvantages.
Scope and Limitation of the System
(Details of the usage and functionality of the
proposed system) What the system can do?

• Limitation of usage (who can use & who cannot use,
who have full access & Limited access )
• What the system capable & not capable of doing?
About data capacity / storage capacity

• Introduce the proposed automated system.
• State the general characteristics of the proposed
automated system. State the IDE and database
used.
System Overview
• Describe the general composition of the proposed
automated system / the program.
• System special features.
• Describe how it works and how it processes data.
• Describe how user-friendly it is.
System Objectives
• To provide easy access to all necessary info…
• To provide a full range of reports…
• To add and maintain records of …
• To create an easy to use environment for uses and
customers.
Conclusion
• Should at least contain a brief overview of the
purpose of the work and the problem studied.
• A summary emphasizing the main contributions and
results
• Present a final statement of conclusion and
interpretation of the result of your proposed system.

• Elaborate on future developments
• Outline interesting directions for future work
• Discuss what remains to be done
• Outline how things can be improved
