end of unit one evaluation on art and design AS level project.
this slide shows a brief of the project and what I did in it and at the end there is a evaluation of my work.
2. Primary and secondary sources
A visual language is a system of communication using visual elements.
Primary Source secondary source
3. Elements
I have used a range of different elements in this topic for example I
have used mark making and tone.
4. Visual Language
I have used visual language in my work by producing drawings to
show what I am trying to create.
I have been influenced by others works such as Claud Monet by
copying the style that he painted in.
5. Techniques
I have used a range of techniques in this project:
Markmaking with pencil
Tone with pencil
Colour using paint
Created 3d model using card and paper
6. Health and Safety
Before using the roller we had to go through health and safety rules
Keep hair tied back
Don’t put fingers near the roller when its moving
Don’t run or mess around in the class room
Clean up after yourself
7. Evaluation
Unit one
In this project I don’t think I managed my time very well I
found this out due to not having enough time in class to
complete each task. I found the larger ink drawings a lot
harder then the other work this is due to not being used to
working on such a large scale. Whilst going through different
techniques such as mark making and tone I think that I did
quite well as I was happy with my finished pieces. I researched
into different artists such as Van Gogh and Claude Monet, I
used secondary sources to create copies of their work. I found
it useful to research what materials the artists had used to
complete my own copy, to find out this information I used the
internet. I developed some of my work by using different
techniques and by using different colour paper to work with. I
could have done more development on some of the first still
life drawings. I used drawing to develop my work by sketching
out the shapes from the still life then adding techniques such
as mark making on top. I think that my collage development
went well. Overall I am happy with my final outcome of this
project I like majority of the drawing and paintings that I have
completed.
Unit two
In this project I think that I did mange my time well, this
was due to understanding what I was meant to be
doing and could just get on with the work. At first I found
it hard to create a mini model this was due to not being
sure of what shapes to turn my print into. Once I had
decided what I wanted to do I found it easier to
develop my idea to create the final piece. I developed
my work by changing the shape of my model and
adding more things to it. I looked at some of Picassos 3d
work to help me to produce my final piece, when
looking at his work I look at the sculptures that he
created in the cubism time this helped me a lot because
it was based around what we were learning. I used card
as the base of my sculpture as it was strong and around
the sides I used paper this is because its light and
wouldent weigh down the sculpture that I was trying to
create. Overall I enjoyed this unit and I was happy with
my outcome as it represented equalities and worked
with my print.
