1. Lana Del Rey- Summertime sadness
This is the establishing shot. It creates an olden sense to it as the
colours portray that kind of era and also give off a creepy and eery
atmosphere. There is little music in the background but a few
instruments and talking which adds to this edginess of the first shot.
It is giving the audience something to think about right at the start of
the music video. This edginess also relates to Lana Del Rey and her
character as a music artist.

2. The sense of the olden days is run throughout this music video as the
colours are the same and are seen as old fashioned. This is interesting
and is what makes it different from modern day music videos. It is
not very bright and is a dull colour. This shot is a side on view of Lana
Del Rey it is showing the audience that this song is personal to Lana
Del Rey and it something to do with her as this is why she features in
it.
This third shot is a medium shot of Lana Del Rey and what we
assume a friend or possibly a lover? The quality is the same
throughout the music video, it is dull colours and the quality is
blurred and flicky. This could be relating to the song and Lana Del
Rey’s summertime sadness.

3. This is a long shot including the other actress who features in this
music video. Again the quality is the same adding to the edginess of
the video. We are shown a women standing on a bridge looking as if
she is going to jump off, we assume that there was a relationship
between the two women and this scene where the women appears to
be committing suicide adds to the sadness of the music video.
This last show is medium shot of Lana Del Rey. The black
background ensures that she stands out and is the main image in this
shot. This shot is creepy and edgy. The white against the black are
contrasting colours and makes it a creepy ending to the music video.
It could be portraying the innocent of Lana Del Rey and the death of
the other actor.
