1. Evaluation Question 6: What have you learnt about technologies from the
process of constructing this product?
Hardware I used in the making of my final product:
Tripod & Camera-
The camera I used in the filming of my product was a
Canon 70D Digital SLR camera that I borrowed from a
friend. I have used cameras before but this was my
first time using one to film. However, this camera was
really simple to use in terms of it’s recording feature
and it output the clips filmed in high quality, making
the product look somewhat more professional.
Utilising this piece of equipment I learned how to use
different focuses, zooms and how to alter the iso
depending on the lighting I wanted to create in the
final product. In addition, I used a tripod also
borrowed from my friend. This allowed me to shoot
from different angles and distances; as well as,
panning shots during to create a more peaceful mood
during the film openings equilibrium. Whereas, later in
the sequence I opted to shoot free hand for realism
and to create a more unsettling atmosphere
throughout the disequilibrium of my opening
sequence. I also, used the manual focus feature to
change the depth of field in my shots making them
more stylistic. The camera also had a grid feature
which allowed me to apply the rule of thirds in my
shots.
