2. Communication is the process of
Exchanging, thought, message
and creating meaning.
Language is the symbol system. It
includes the rules regarding the
combination of sounds into
meaning units words, words
unites in to sentence, along with
the rules for using the language.
3. Language & Discourse is kind
of method to study “cultural
studies”
Raymond williams has given
an influential definition of
cultural studies.
4. Our description of our experience comes to
compose a network of relationships, and all our
communication systems, including the arts, are
literally parts of our social organization… since
our way of seeing is literally our way of living,
the process of communication is in fact the
process of community: the offering, reception
and comparison of new meaning, leading to the
tensions and achievements of growth and
change.
5. Studying society is about culture, not only about
economics or politics.
Combination of meanings and values create
‘culture’ or ‘community’.‘ Communication
‘creates ‘community’.
A society’s meaning reflect its economic and
political and study meaning is to study a culture.
