Evaluation
Before I started the required main task of developing a music magazine, I did a preliminary task of
creating a college magazine. For this task I did a pre-production of researching into existing college
magazines and then drafting mock-ups of the layout of the front page and contents page I later
developed on Adobe’s InDesign.
I believe that the preliminary task I had to complete before developing the main task of creating a
magazine was successful. I think this because I researched the classic conventions of magazines in
the same genre, I then reflected the elements that I found and used them in my magazine’s front
cover and contents page. I learnt the basic conventions of magazines in this preliminary task, which
means when I come to create the main task magazine, I will have a much stronger understanding of
the conventions than I did before.
