studied forms before consolidating the grammar forms from the
previous four lessons in a single reading and writing activity.
Review
• Pre-test
Allows students to review expressions and forms learned in Smart Step Grammar,
and to identify their own strengths and weaknesses.
• Progress test
Give students a final challenge at the end of the text and allow them to see how
much they’ve learned over the course of the class.
Supplementary

opportunities to read and use the
grammar forms in real-life situations.

spoken and written uses of the target form. Key
vocabulary gives them the basic understanding
they will need to complete the unit. A short
video introduces learners to the grammar form
as it is actually used in a different country.
Real Grammar
Introduces the target form in a fun and
easy-to-understand way. Pictures and comics
demonstrate real-life uses of the form.
Meaning Use
Offers concise presentation of
grammar rules, giving learners a clear
understanding of core grammar skills.
“Spoken English” segments help
students understand the differences
between written and spoken language,
and prepare them to interact with
English speakers in the real world.
