My UC Personal Statement
UC Personal Statement
Some people have skills that makes them unique, my skill was just always a hands on learner. I
have always just enjoyed fixing minor things around my house since I was four. My mother would
usually say "Where's my handyman at?" whenever there were something to fix. Something about
getting the knowledge of turning something useless into its original state just intrigues me. When I
was around ten years old, I started skating and it had me actually figure out the board completely
and learned how to assemble one which gave me more experience.
Around elementary and middle school, I didn't know much of what career path I would choose
since everyone I knew in my classes had their lives all planned out. I would panic when people
asked "what are you going to be after your out of school?" and I didn't know what to say so I just
told them that I would be a correction officer like my dad. In the beginning I forced that thought
into my head, but at the same time I knew it wasn't something I always wanted to be. So my search
of my future career was now back into my first priorities....show more content...
I was able to put my skill of being able to fix things into something I can actually use in the real
world. I just felt so relieved that all those years of wondering "what kind of career path would I take
after high school?" is now finally over. I enjoyed how my teacher was one on one with each and
every single one of us in his class. He showed us how to do simple auto mechanic jobs, and talked us
step by step on what we needed to do to complete what task he gave us. It was all slowly coming to
me and I started to have that knowledge on what the problem is and how could I solve

Significant Educational Opportunity In Education
UC Prompt 4: Describe how you have taken advantage of a significant educational opportunity or
worked to overcome an educational barrier you have faced.
A significant educational opportunity that was offered to me during my High School career is a
job working at Warehouse Shoe Sale or WSS. My experience working there helped me to face
responsibility and enabled me to realize that I have excellent skills in following directions and
completing tasks. Prior to working, I didn't know if I was even going to be able finish high school, let
alone get a job. My job experience, however, made me think differently. Being able to witness
people at work, who were not as smart as I am, who were making more money than me, really
opened my eyes. I realized that if I put my mind to it, I could be successful and earn a lot of
money. The job experience influenced me to finish high school, as well as provided me the
inspiration to continue on and attend college. Attending a University will provide me with the
training I will need to eventually obtain my dream job. Additionally, I will have a degree and be
able to ensure a better and brighter future for myself and my family. Luck surely shined upon me
when I was offered this job experience in high school! Not only was I able to make a little money, I
learned so much more than just being efficient at a job.

Reflective Essay: How UC Davis Changed My Life
After being denied admissions to UC Davis, I considered all my other options but none of it
satisfies my heart. I decided to write this appeal instead, regardless of the odds. I would rather take
another rejection than a lifetime of regrets for not giving my dream another shot when I could have.
Last FALL 2015, my TAG for UC Davis was approved. Everything was going well until my car
was stolen about a month before the final examinations. I had to pay all the expenses in order to get
it fixed because my insurance did not cover theft. Coming from a low–income family, financial stress
has taken a toll on me.
All my time was spent resolving that problem that I was barely focused on my academics. I had a
'B' in CISP 360. But after that mishap,

UC Prompt #4 Describe how you have taken advantage of a significant educational opportunity or

and everyone has a specific way to overcome it.There's always going to be barriers, but I never
gave up. My first educational barriers was learning. In 1st grade it was hard to communicate with
my classmate and teacher.I felt disappointed in myself and discourage making me feel important.
Meanwhile, my cousin taught me how to speak English fluently, we first started with basic words
like ''hi'' or ''good morning.''That's how I worked myself through this barrier and to this day, I
know how to speak English fluently. Although, some students would make fun of me because I
would have an accent. For example, when people come from a different country and they try to
talk English they would have an accent from their original country. In the other hand, I was failing
math because unlike all the other students, I am not the fastest learner. I would always get confused
with the structure and format of the question. For instance, fractions, decimals, and word problems
would confuse me . I wasn't very good with solving any of that so I knew I had to start attending
tutoring. I had very good help from the students at Loma Linda University. They taught me an easier
way to solve any problem, and that caused my test scores to increase. I can pass that class with no
problem now. That

Uc Medical Center Reflection
While I was shadowing a few neurologists in Ravenna, OH, I mentioned all of the medical
schools that I was considering applying to, and they told me that I should put the University of
Cincinnati College of Medicine at the top of my list. After researching the program further, I was
pleased to see the impact that the UC Medical Center was having on the community and the
cutting edge research and education that UC medical students are able to take a part of. As an
Ohio native, I would be honored to invest into my home state as much as possible. I grew more
and more excited as I learned about the excellent professors and resources that UC had to offer, and
as a hands–on–learner, I found UC's simulation center to be of particular interest to

Benefits Of UC Berkeley
"You are at the #1 public university in the world," are the words implanted into the University of
California, Berkeley. UC Berkeley is defined as #1 for its programs, history, faculty, environment,
and prospective influences but ultimately, what defines UC Berkeley are its students. Through the
impact its students make and the legacies they leave, a high level of prestige has been established
when discussing the university. Another aspect of the university that engenders prestige is the
admission process, which is set in place to assess who would best "fit" the university. A project
done in 1999 that produced a film called "Making the Grade," observes two students from two
different school dynamics in San Francisco that both want to attend...show more content...
Ailed and Damon are on different spectrums of life that result in completely different lifestyles and
determinants of importance. Ailed comes from a low socioeconomic background where her parents
work endlessly to provide for their children, leaving Ailed responsible for her younger brothers
where "her hands are never at rest." Along with school, Ailed works 18 hours a week to help her
parents financially and send money to her grandfather in the Philippines. Though Ailed seeks higher
education, she recognizes that her family does not have the means to provide for her financially
due to their position in America as part of the working class. Inversely, Damon comes from a
family where both of his parents attended UC Berkeley and now spend $30,000 per year
altogether for him and his sister to go to a private school. Damon describes his life as unlavish
compared to his peers, but ultimately he has the ability and access to afford college with no family
responsibilities due to a more advantaged life in the affluent professional class. Though this is not
always true, the positions of both Damon and Ailed's family socioeconomically affect their schooling
environment because they are submerged into schools that produce students alike to their
socioeconomic status. Since Ailed's family is of the working class, she goes to a school that
parallels her social class, with a large people of color population and a great focus on moving onto
work. Balboa High School has a limited amount of AP classes, little to no college preparation help,
and underfunding in terms of the physical infrastructure of the institution as well as the programs
and teachers, considering some teachers are being laid off from their jobs. Like Ailed, Damon's

Uc Club Communication
In today's society, there are many ways in which people communicate within their individual
community. One community in which many people do not fully understand is the game of
baseball. Baseball is one of the most popular sports in the U.S. and has been deemed America's
pastime. For me, sports are my life, especially when it comes to this particular game. I started playing
baseball around the age of 4 and continue to play here at the university for the UC Club Baseball
Team. When playing sports at a young age, there is not a whole lot of organization. Often times it
just looks like a bunch of kids running around aimlessly. At the age of 8, I decided to take my game
and tryout for my first travel team.
My first real baseball experience started in 2001 when I joined the Royalton Raptors, a local travel
baseball team in my city. Up...show more content...
Because I had only played on rec teams, I never realized exactly how in depth baseball actually was.
One aspect of the game that was new to me was the way people involved with the team
communicated. During my time with the Raptors, two clear forms of communication surfaced;
player to coach communication, and player–to–player communication. Understanding these two
forms of interaction is extremely important in understanding the baseball community.
The first form of communication is between coaches and players. Coaches are the foundation of
every team. They set–up, run, and manage every aspect of the organization. Coach's help players
learn different styles of play and help them learn and improve skills both in the field and at the plate.
Coaches use many different forms of communication, not

UC Berkeley Personal Statement
My experiences as a student at UC Berkeley have prepared me for success in Vanderbilt University
School of Nursing's intense accelerated program. As an undergraduate at UC Berkeley I persisted
through semesters of full course loads while volunteering in two labs on campus and working late
shifts as a barista. Although my lunch breaks at work usually consisted of a rushed croissant with
my head in the books, I will never forget those days because they taught me to thrive in stressful
situations. Despite the heavy workload and time commitment I earned a 3.65 GPA and never fell
behind in my research assignments or coursework. My dedication to learning, a positive attitude,
organizational ability and time management contributed to my success as

Our robot didn't move. I urged it to attempt even a crawl, but, like a rock, it stood. As I ran back
to the pit to attempt a repair, I was bombarded with questions from my teammates. "What
happened?" "Why did it fail?" "Will you be able to fix it?" I had no answers for what had occurred
on the field. Being one of the programming sub–team captains, a large part of the blame lay on me. I

I could either follow the traditional path and take AP Biology with my peers or I could get a

C. I wanted to learn advanced physics before I decided what I would pursue in college. In one lab
we were told to derive the equation of drag force by dropping coffee filters from varying heights.

Persuasion Liking Examples
The element of persuasion liking can be used in daily interactions with teachers and classmates
by giving compliments to win my peers and teachers over. Just being myself can win anyone over
seeing that I am very honest and up forward. This element can improve my ability to achieve my
goals by helping meet people who are like myself, which will make it comfortable to seek help
from them when I need it. When you can cooperate with others it gives you the ability to be able
to communicate with people. Communication is very key when you are in a class setting. The
ability to persuade others benefits my specific career considering that I am a very likeable person.

section that is being taught. Additionally, with the small classroom, I will be able to get to know
them as well and build a relationship, in order to help each other on an assignment, homework, or

How has this challenge affected your academic achievement?
Throughout my life I faced a lot of challenges. I had to overcome the obstacle that was on my way.
The obstacle made me stronger and made me the person who I am right now a ambitious and
hardworking student. The problem shaped me up because I know that I have to work for what I
want and to not depend on no one, this made me more independent. Also, I learned from my
mistake and try to do better. The first obstacle had to face are my parent divorce. When this
obstacle happened I was depressed and not do that good in school. My aunt had to take to with
her friend that was an therapist I only went for one day, when it finish the therapy I realized that
my life is not over just for a dilema. I was more relief and more ambitious to do all my work and
pass all of my classes. The second obstacle is that I would struggle at school is turning in my work
late when it was due the next day. Then, I had to overcome it by, making an agenda to keep my
work on track and test to study for the agenda really helped me alot. My last dilemma is that I
would work during school because me and my family depend on my dad sending money when
sometime he wouldn't send us money. Me and my bigger sister would always try to find a job to
help my mom to pay bills etc. Another obstacle is trying my best to have good grade and study in a
correct way. I try to keep up my grade but sometimes it's hard. I sometimes

When I submitted my UC application, I did not find it necessary to include my personal hardships,
as I did not want those to be the focus of my application. However, I have now realized that omitting
this information prevented me from exhibiting my full academic turnaround.
Last semester, my grandmother had an accident, rendering her unable to walk. As a result, my
mother had to leave immediately for India to care for her. Soon after her return, my father left for
India due to the passing of my grandfather. This was a very emotional period for our family, and
keeping everything together was challenging.

Volunteering to feed the homeless is truly an eye opening experience to what reality is. There is an
estimated one hundred million homeless people in the world who are starving and are trying to find
a way to survive. On a day–to–day basis, we see homeless people everywhere such as on the streets,
by the freeway asking for money so they can feed themselves, or maybe even feed their own
family. One day, my mom and I decided we had to take action after witnessing so many homeless
people on the streets. When people are in such a difficult situation, their only option is to beg for
money because they have no roof over their head, and no food to eat. Many of these people are
suffering from their own decisions, unemployment, or for other personal reasons. There are many
homeless people who are sick and suffering from severe mental illnesses. It breaks my heart
seeing homeless people in the streets, so I knew I had to take action and help out someway. The
experience of volunteering to feed the homeless was most certainly a life changing experience. It
made me realize how grateful I am for my life, how important it is to help those in great need, and
to never take a meal for granted or roof for granted. This event was one that happened in the spur
of the moment but has also changed me as a a person by becoming more involved and helping out
more in my community , learning to never taking anything for granted, and by not assuming all
homeless people are bad people as such. On a

A struggle I see in my family is the lack of pursuit of higher education. This problem is like an

I had a reunion with my grandfather. We visited the historical killing fields and the S–21 Prison.
These places had a profound effect on me. Thus, I now have a better understanding of how my

appreciate the significant and importance of my life. While my trip to Cambodia, I had many
wonderful experiences such as visiting Angkor wat and the nice warm ocean. However, I witness
many of my age and young homeless and disnature. They were not in school and no place to live.
Seeing this broke my heart. I want to make a difference. My mom founded a non–profit organization
in 2012 to help disadvantage children in Cambodia. One of my goal is as I am pursuing my
education is to work in my mom's organizations, to make a difference in Cambodia. In closing, my
mother is a true inspiration to me, several years ago, she began the journey of obtaining a college
education she part time, while working full time to support my brother and I. Recently, she has
become a full–time college student and a stay home mom. Seeing how hard my mom works helps

Personal Statements Describe how you have taken advantage of a significant educational
opportunity or worked to overcome an educational barrier you have faced. As far as my
knowledge goes, I cannot say that I have an extremely high amount. I constantly struggle with my
school work, and I do not have any strong subject. I am not the type of person to be able to pass an
exam without studying. For me, I must put effort in everything I do. That is my biggest
educational barrier. I consider myself as "average". The problem with me is that I want to go
beyond that average standard. I want to exceed the standard expectations. My grades are quite
good, as I have almost all A's as well as a 3.83 GPA. When people see this achievement, they tell
me, "That is not surprising. You are so smart!" I never answer to their response, because deep
down inside, I know that this is far from true. My grades are not from naturally understanding
things immediately, but are from working hard, and putting in as much effort as possible. I stay up
late every night just to understand the material. While most people complete their assignments and
call it a day, I not only complete it, but I always make sure to ask this question, "Do I understand
this enough to do this easily on a test?" If the answer is no, I spend at least another hour to
understand the content. I dread every time I realize I must spend more time staying up than
sleeping, but when good results show, I find this all to be worth it. My

I cry at the movies.
Well, even though I'm willing to admit this confession, even my closest friends would be surprised.
I'm usually fairly calm and collected – my personality and expression naturally serious. Having dealt

Yet, there I am at the theater after a heart–wrenching scene, depleting all my tissue reserves almost

My empathy makes me experience everyone's story vicariously as my own. Sharing the characters'

and when an inevitable tragedy befalls – I cry with them. With movies, the inability to somehow

  • 1. My UC Personal Statement UC Personal Statement Some people have skills that makes them unique, my skill was just always a hands on learner. I have always just enjoyed fixing minor things around my house since I was four. My mother would usually say "Where's my handyman at?" whenever there were something to fix. Something about getting the knowledge of turning something useless into its original state just intrigues me. When I was around ten years old, I started skating and it had me actually figure out the board completely and learned how to assemble one which gave me more experience. Around elementary and middle school, I didn't know much of what career path I would choose since everyone I knew in my classes had their lives all planned out. I would panic when people asked "what are you going to be after your out of school?" and I didn't know what to say so I just told them that I would be a correction officer like my dad. In the beginning I forced that thought into my head, but at the same time I knew it wasn't something I always wanted to be. So my search of my future career was now back into my first priorities....show more content... I was able to put my skill of being able to fix things into something I can actually use in the real world. I just felt so relieved that all those years of wondering "what kind of career path would I take after high school?" is now finally over. I enjoyed how my teacher was one on one with each and every single one of us in his class. He showed us how to do simple auto mechanic jobs, and talked us step by step on what we needed to do to complete what task he gave us. It was all slowly coming to me and I started to have that knowledge on what the problem is and how could I solve Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Significant Educational Opportunity In Education UC Prompt 4: Describe how you have taken advantage of a significant educational opportunity or worked to overcome an educational barrier you have faced. A significant educational opportunity that was offered to me during my High School career is a job working at Warehouse Shoe Sale or WSS. My experience working there helped me to face responsibility and enabled me to realize that I have excellent skills in following directions and completing tasks. Prior to working, I didn't know if I was even going to be able finish high school, let alone get a job. My job experience, however, made me think differently. Being able to witness people at work, who were not as smart as I am, who were making more money than me, really opened my eyes. I realized that if I put my mind to it, I could be successful and earn a lot of money. The job experience influenced me to finish high school, as well as provided me the inspiration to continue on and attend college. Attending a University will provide me with the training I will need to eventually obtain my dream job. Additionally, I will have a degree and be able to ensure a better and brighter future for myself and my family. Luck surely shined upon me when I was offered this job experience in high school! Not only was I able to make a little money, I learned so much more than just being efficient at a job. • 3. Reflective Essay: How UC Davis Changed My Life After being denied admissions to UC Davis, I considered all my other options but none of it satisfies my heart. I decided to write this appeal instead, regardless of the odds. I would rather take another rejection than a lifetime of regrets for not giving my dream another shot when I could have. Last FALL 2015, my TAG for UC Davis was approved. Everything was going well until my car was stolen about a month before the final examinations. I had to pay all the expenses in order to get it fixed because my insurance did not cover theft. Coming from a low–income family, financial stress has taken a toll on me. All my time was spent resolving that problem that I was barely focused on my academics. I had a 'B' in CISP 360. But after that mishap, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. UC Prompt #4 Describe how you have taken advantage of a significant educational opportunity or worked to overcome and educational barrier you have faced. Everybody has educational barriers, and everyone has a specific way to overcome it.There's always going to be barriers, but I never gave up. My first educational barriers was learning. In 1st grade it was hard to communicate with my classmate and teacher.I felt disappointed in myself and discourage making me feel important. Meanwhile, my cousin taught me how to speak English fluently, we first started with basic words like ''hi'' or ''good morning.''That's how I worked myself through this barrier and to this day, I know how to speak English fluently. Although, some students would make fun of me because I would have an accent. For example, when people come from a different country and they try to talk English they would have an accent from their original country. In the other hand, I was failing math because unlike all the other students, I am not the fastest learner. I would always get confused with the structure and format of the question. For instance, fractions, decimals, and word problems would confuse me . I wasn't very good with solving any of that so I knew I had to start attending tutoring. I had very good help from the students at Loma Linda University. They taught me an easier way to solve any problem, and that caused my test scores to increase. I can pass that class with no problem now. That Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Uc Medical Center Reflection While I was shadowing a few neurologists in Ravenna, OH, I mentioned all of the medical schools that I was considering applying to, and they told me that I should put the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine at the top of my list. After researching the program further, I was pleased to see the impact that the UC Medical Center was having on the community and the cutting edge research and education that UC medical students are able to take a part of. As an Ohio native, I would be honored to invest into my home state as much as possible. I grew more and more excited as I learned about the excellent professors and resources that UC had to offer, and as a hands–on–learner, I found UC's simulation center to be of particular interest to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Benefits Of UC Berkeley "You are at the #1 public university in the world," are the words implanted into the University of California, Berkeley. UC Berkeley is defined as #1 for its programs, history, faculty, environment, and prospective influences but ultimately, what defines UC Berkeley are its students. Through the impact its students make and the legacies they leave, a high level of prestige has been established when discussing the university. Another aspect of the university that engenders prestige is the admission process, which is set in place to assess who would best "fit" the university. A project done in 1999 that produced a film called "Making the Grade," observes two students from two different school dynamics in San Francisco that both want to attend...show more content... Ailed and Damon are on different spectrums of life that result in completely different lifestyles and determinants of importance. Ailed comes from a low socioeconomic background where her parents work endlessly to provide for their children, leaving Ailed responsible for her younger brothers where "her hands are never at rest." Along with school, Ailed works 18 hours a week to help her parents financially and send money to her grandfather in the Philippines. Though Ailed seeks higher education, she recognizes that her family does not have the means to provide for her financially due to their position in America as part of the working class. Inversely, Damon comes from a family where both of his parents attended UC Berkeley and now spend $30,000 per year altogether for him and his sister to go to a private school. Damon describes his life as unlavish compared to his peers, but ultimately he has the ability and access to afford college with no family responsibilities due to a more advantaged life in the affluent professional class. Though this is not always true, the positions of both Damon and Ailed's family socioeconomically affect their schooling environment because they are submerged into schools that produce students alike to their socioeconomic status. Since Ailed's family is of the working class, she goes to a school that parallels her social class, with a large people of color population and a great focus on moving onto work. Balboa High School has a limited amount of AP classes, little to no college preparation help, and underfunding in terms of the physical infrastructure of the institution as well as the programs and teachers, considering some teachers are being laid off from their jobs. Like Ailed, Damon's Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Uc Club Communication In today's society, there are many ways in which people communicate within their individual community. One community in which many people do not fully understand is the game of baseball. Baseball is one of the most popular sports in the U.S. and has been deemed America's pastime. For me, sports are my life, especially when it comes to this particular game. I started playing baseball around the age of 4 and continue to play here at the university for the UC Club Baseball Team. When playing sports at a young age, there is not a whole lot of organization. Often times it just looks like a bunch of kids running around aimlessly. At the age of 8, I decided to take my game and tryout for my first travel team. My first real baseball experience started in 2001 when I joined the Royalton Raptors, a local travel baseball team in my city. Up...show more content... Because I had only played on rec teams, I never realized exactly how in depth baseball actually was. One aspect of the game that was new to me was the way people involved with the team communicated. During my time with the Raptors, two clear forms of communication surfaced; player to coach communication, and player–to–player communication. Understanding these two forms of interaction is extremely important in understanding the baseball community. The first form of communication is between coaches and players. Coaches are the foundation of every team. They set–up, run, and manage every aspect of the organization. Coach's help players learn different styles of play and help them learn and improve skills both in the field and at the plate. Coaches use many different forms of communication, not Get more content on HelpWriting.net

As an undergraduate at UC Berkeley I persisted through semesters of full course loads while volunteering in two labs on campus and working late shifts as a barista. Although my lunch breaks at work usually consisted of a rushed croissant with my head in the books, I will never forget those days because they taught me to thrive in stressful situations. Despite the heavy workload and time commitment I earned a 3.65 GPA and never fell behind in my research assignments or coursework. Our robot didn't move. I urged it to attempt even a crawl, but, like a rock, it stood. As I ran back to the pit to attempt a repair, I was bombarded with questions from my teammates. "What happened?" "Why did it fail?" "Will you be able to fix it?" I had no answers for what had occurred on the field. Being one of the programming sub–team captains, a large part of the blame lay on me. • 15. Volunteering to feed the homeless is truly an eye opening experience to what reality is. There is an estimated one hundred million homeless people in the world who are starving and are trying to find a way to survive. On a day–to–day basis, we see homeless people everywhere such as on the streets, by the freeway asking for money so they can feed themselves, or maybe even feed their own family. One day, my mom and I decided we had to take action after witnessing so many homeless people on the streets. When people are in such a difficult situation, their only option is to beg for money because they have no roof over their head, and no food to eat. Many of these people are suffering from their own decisions, unemployment, or for other personal reasons. There are many homeless people who are sick and suffering from severe mental illnesses. It breaks my heart seeing homeless people in the streets, so I knew I had to take action and help out someway. The experience of volunteering to feed the homeless was most certainly a life changing experience. It made me realize how grateful I am for my life, how important it is to help those in great need, and to never take a meal for granted or roof for granted. This event was one that happened in the spur of the moment but has also changed me as a a person by becoming more involved and helping out more in my community , learning to never taking anything for granted, and by not assuming all homeless people are bad people as such. • 17. Personal Statements Describe how you have taken advantage of a significant educational opportunity or worked to overcome an educational barrier you have faced. As far as my knowledge goes, I cannot say that I have an extremely high amount. I constantly struggle with my school work, and I do not have any strong subject. I am not the type of person to be able to pass an exam without studying. For me, I must put effort in everything I do. That is my biggest educational barrier. I consider myself as "average". The problem with me is that I want to go beyond that average standard. I want to exceed the standard expectations. My grades are quite good, as I have almost all A's as well as a 3.83 GPA. When people see this achievement, they tell me, "That is not surprising. You are so smart!" I never answer to their response, because deep down inside, I know that this is far from true. My grades are not from naturally understanding things immediately, but are from working hard, and putting in as much effort as possible. I stay up late every night just to understand the material. While most people complete their assignments and call it a day, I not only complete it, but I always make sure to ask this question, "Do I understand this enough to do this easily on a test?" If the answer is no, I spend at least another hour to understand the content. I dread every time I realize I must spend more time staying up than sleeping, but when good results show, I find this all to be worth it. My Get more content on HelpWriting.net

What is the one thing that you think sets you apart from other candidates from other candidates applying to the University of California? (348/350) I cry at the movies. Well, even though I'm willing to admit this confession, even my closest friends would be surprised. I'm usually fairly calm and collected – my personality and expression naturally serious. Having dealt with the problems of residing in four countries total, I thought I face most things with equanimity. Yet, there I am at the theater after a heart–wrenching scene, depleting all my tissue reserves almost comically in a struggle to contain my snivels and hiccups. My empathy makes me experience everyone's story vicariously as my own. Sharing the characters' emotions at every stage of their adventures, I delight in their triumphs, despair during their crises, and when an inevitable tragedy befalls – I cry with them. With movies, the inability to somehow utter way and lead the protagonists to happiness frustrates me. My aching desire to help only becomes true in real life.
