1. Kean University's Academic Integrity Policy
Kean University has put in place an Academic Integrity Policy that places the student's work to be
solely one's own and the proper placement of letting the reader know background or research was
derived from. Kean's Department of History defines plagiarism "as the act of representing someone
else's words, ideas, phrases, sentences, or data as one's own," which is a straightforward definition
that is most consistent throughout the land. Plagiarism really is the use of someone's literary work
without properly providing credit for or passing off as your own. Academic dishonesty, which
consists of plagiarism, is comprised of three (3) other deceptive tools: cheating, fabrication, and
academic misconduct. The other three deceptive tools are equally...show more content...

We all have dream in our lives whether it is about attending a dream university, or having a dream
career, job, or working for some big company, or even marrying your dream man/woman. As we
grow older, our dreams evolve. For example, when you're a child, your dream is to be in 12th
grade; at least that was my dream, when I was in 2nd grade. I couldn 't think of anything else, but
see myself as a high school senior. When I was finally in 12th grade, my dream was to attend a
great university. Now that I'm about to be college senior, my dream is to work for some massive
company as a software engineer. Although I can talk about many dreams that I have, I'll primary

Apple had 463 stores in just 18 countries and an online store available in 39 counties. Apple is
continuing to open even more stores in upcoming years. Apple stores are so popular that Apple
stores get more than one million visitors per day worldwide; if we put this into perspective, when
we compare these many visitors to Disney theme parks' visitors, Disney only gets about 130

4. Essay about How to Succeed as a Student
Life as a university student can be tough, but to make sure you get your money and times worth out
of it you need to know how to be a successful student. Being a successful student requires a
combination of attending your classes, doing your homework, and monitoring your level of stress.
This may not sound too hard, but once you are in the moment and need to juggle all of these things
along with all of the other responsibilities and challenges life entails it may begin to seem like a
much more difficult task.
The first step to being a successful student in University, or anywhere else, is to attend as many of
your classes as you can. Attending your classes is vital to your success in a university environment.
Some teachers will use online...show more content...
Doing the assignments allows you to practice your understanding of that knowledge and will make
things easier on the exams. Some classes don't have a final exam. In these cases the homework will
likely be worth a much larger portion of your mark and the marks lost from ignoring it could cause
you to fail the course. In some cases, the homework you can do is able to be used on open note tests
or quizzes. Having many of the answers already inside of your notes can make a test trivial to do
well on. Doing homework isn't always about the work itself. Of you are someone who has a busy
life you may not feel like you have time for homework. Forcing yourself to make room to sit down
somewhere quiet and do homework may give you some time to think. It will can give you a few
hours away from the other stresses in your life. Doing well in school isn't all about showing up and
doing the work. Your mood can be just as important to doing well in school. If you are overly
stressed out by school and work you will end up focusing less on it and doing worse in it. Giving
yourself a day off once or twice a month can give you some time to clear your head and go back into
it feeling rejuvenated the next day. If your entire life consists of nothing but school and work you
are probably not going to be a happy person. If you are not happy you will not as well at your school
work. Having a hobby of

5. Response to Boyz N the Hood Essay
Amad EliaCIN 303 Response to Boyz N the Hood and Review by Roger Ebert in the Chicago
Sun–TimesThe more times I viewed this film, the more I became captivated by the poignant
message Singleton is trying to convey in Boyz N the Hood. The poignant message is the impact that
a father has on a young urban African American individual living in the ghetto and subsequently the
impact of being fatherless in the ghetto. In fact Boyz N the Hood includes, among many social
topics, a father's essential role in his son's healthy development and the disastrous effects a father's
absence has on children and society. For instance, the main character, Tre (Cuba Gooding Jr.), has a
father who strongly influences and guides him. His...show more content...
Furthermore, Boyz N the Hood also offers an honest and realistic portrayal of a father's absence in
urban America. This is best exemplified by Tre's boyhood friends, who lack a strong fatherly
influence, end up involved in gang violence, selling drugs, and other societal traps. More
specifically, a close friend, Doughboy, lacks a father in his life. And although Doughboy's mother
ties to lead him in the right direction, she favors Doughboy's brother Ricky over him, and Doughboy
ends up spending time in prison and dealing drugs. Doughboy experiences gang–related violence
first–hand and ultimately becomes a neighborhood victim. Without a strong father figure, Doughboy
never valued responsibility, dedication, respect for women, or morality. Resultantly, he succumbs to
his neighborhood's social ills.
Moreover, in terms of connecting Boyz N the Hood to our course, I was beguiled by a few
similarities and differences between Do the Right Thing and Boyz N the Hood. One similarity is that
both Singleton and Lee introduce protagonist characters in their films (Mookie in Do the Right
Thing, and Furious in Boyz N the Hood) that illuminate the thematic messages that each director is
trying to communicate in their films. Another, similarity is that both films introduce complex
themes and frankly explored racism, using contemporary rap music as background and as political
commentary. In regards to

6. Mean, Median, Mode
Mean, Median, Mode, and Range
Mean, median, and mode are three kinds of "averages". There are many "averages" in statistics, but
these are, I think, the three most common, and are certainly the three you are most likely to
encounter in your pre–statistics courses, if the topic comes up at all.
The "mean" is the "average" you 're used to, where you add up all the numbers and then divide by
the number of numbers. The "median" is the "middle" value in the list of numbers. To find the
median, your numbers have to be listed in numerical order, so you may have to rewrite your list
first. The "mode" is the value that occurs most often. If no number is repeated, then there is no mode
for the list.
The "range" is just the difference...show more content...
So if you 're not certain how you should answer the "mode" part of the above example, ask your
instructor before the next test.
About the only hard part of finding the mean, median, and mode is keeping straight which "average"
is which. Just remember the following:
mean: regular meaning of "average" median: middle value mode: most often
(In the above, I 've used the term "average" rather casually. The technical definition of "average" is
the arithmetic mean: adding up the values and then dividing by the number of values. Since you 're
probably more familiar with the concept of "average" than with "measure of central tendency", I
used the more comfortable term.)
A student has gotten the following grades on his tests: 87, 95, 76, and 88. He wants an 85 or better
overall. What is the minimum grade he must get on the last test in order to achieve that average?
The unknown score is "x". Then the desired average is:
(87 + 95 + 76 + 88 + x) Г· 5 = 85
Multiplying through by 5 and simplifying, I get:
87 + 95 + 76 + 88 + x = 425 346 + x = 425 x = 79
He needs to get at least a 79 on the last test.
You can use the Mathway widget below to practice "Data Measurement and Statistics", subtopic

9. The Accomplishments Of Edmund Kean
Edmund Kean, one of the greatest and most historic British actors to ever live. Kean might have
been born on March 17th in the year of 1789,and I say might have because no one really knows
when he was born. The exact date of his birth has been a mystery for what seems like forever now,
and as the years keep going, the chance of this mystery being solved becomes less and less
possible. We're at the point now where we'll probably never find out when Edmund Kean was born,
all we have is a rough estimate at the moment. He had a turbulent life and therefore he also used
that to his advantage by being a turbulent genius and was recognized for his megalomania and his
erotic behavior which caused him being a villain it mostly every Shakespearean play he took part

named Ann Carey, she was actually an actress. His father was Edmund Kean the first, He died at
a very young age after having his son. He was a reckless youth and ended up killing himself at a
young age of twenty two years of age. After Kean's death, the young boy was pretty much adopted
by his fathers oldest brother, Moses Keen and his wife Charlotte Tidswell. He was a part time
member of the Drury Lane Theater Comapany, and workthe play named The 11th Duke of

1. Context/ Introduction: For my third observation, on Monday October 17th, I returned back to the
Kean University Child Care Center. Just like my second observation I came for my observation for
the hour of 10:30–11:30 am. This time in the classroom there was four teacher aides and the
teacher Ms. Kierah. When I walked into the classroom I was surprised when one of the teacher
aides told me that Ethan has a lot of energy in class that day. She explained that Ethan had a lot of
energy that his listening skills were a little off as well. Once she was done explaining this I was
anxious to see this for myself. I saw Ethan was playing at the middle table with one other boy Steve.

15. Rhetorical Analysis : Inventing The University
The rhetorical situation is defined as the context of a rhetorical event that consists of an issue, an
audience, and a set of restraints. While this may be true, there are many interpretations and versions
of these situations. In David Bartholomae's text, "Inventing the University," he explains the situation
of college students learning to fit the requirements of their college professors. Another author named
Kevin Davis formulated an essay titled, "Does Coming to College Mean Becoming Someone New,"
explores a similar situation of university students in terms of their commitments and changes they
make to succeed in college. Bartholomae's rhetorical situation is persuading college professors to

This could easily be seen as a negligible problem, but the authors could feel otherwise. A question
that comes to mind when analyzing these writings is, "what kind of discourse does each writing
piece fall into?" Discourse can be separated into three categories. Which are judicial, deliberative,
and epideictic. Bartholomae uses epideictic discourse as well as deliberative discourse throughout
his writing. He says, "He has to invent the university by assembling and mimicking its language"
(45). Davis shares a similar concept as Bartholomae, by stating, "They wanted me to make their
sense of the literature, to understand the texts as they understood them...I also had to learn a
particular way of reading and writing" (80). Both men have the same idea with current academia,
but they are on opposite sides. Bartholomae believes that while writing in unfamiliar ways, students
learn to become expert writers with practice. Davis explains the same scenario but believes that
change isn't necessarily needed, and certain changes made by students could be devastating in their
lives. When analyzing the discourse made by these two authors, it is apparent that both Bartholomae
and Davis are speaking from an epideictic and deliberative standpoint. They speak on a current issue
that students are having and discuss ways to attack this problem in the future with examples. Since

19. Obsession For Land In The Field, By John B. Kean
"The Field" is a story written by John B. Kean based on Irish historical events and culture in 1965.
At that period of time, Ireland was enduring the British powers' attempts to conquer Irish territory.
The most important, valuable, and symbolic asset that an Irish citizen could own was land.
Throughout the story, the author emphasizes how important it was for an Irish farmer to own
land. In the story, the obsession for land generates a contest between the poor Irish farmer, Bull
McCabe, and a rich British businessman by the name of William. Bull has an immense knowledge
in the field of agriculture, as stated in the story; he transformed a rocky four acres land into a
precious and green land. After five years of hard work, Bull could see all...show more content...
Bull wasn't conformed by William's plan in using the field for industrial purposes. He was
especially angered by having all his efforts to establish a well maintained piece of land go to
waste. He illustrates his anger by saying, "Tis a sin to cover grass and clover with concrete" (59).
He denied the chance of seeing all his work going worthless and the land destroyed by concrete.
He stresses his disapproval of William's intents by saying, "Now this robber comes from nowhere
and he's nothing less than a robber" (59). He couldn't accept the fact that a stranger would own a
land that he had put so much effort in. William Dee wasn't an awful man; however he didn't give
any credibility to Bull. He was capable of buying a better land far away from the village but he
gave an excuse that his wife was from Bull's village and she wanted to live there. Finally, Bull
never had the intention of killing William. His intention was only to frighten him in order to make
him give up from buying the land. Indeed, Bull wasn't the one who killed William but, his son
Tadgh, who beat him to death. Most people in the bar witnessed Bull planning to frighten William.
Bull said, "...he must be given a fright and a fright he's goin' to get" (59). William knew that Bull
would do the impossible to stop him from buying the land. Even after Bull had advised him to not
