2. Location 1- Windsor Girls'
School
Directions to get there?
-30 minute walk from Windsor and Eton Riverside
station
- 3 bus stops around, all within 10 minutes from the
school
What do you like about it?
-easily adaptable to any chosen setting
- very accessible (many different lights and staging
possibilities)
- reasonably large space to work with
- can block out all natural lighting
What problems might you encounter with it? How do
you plan to overcome them?
- for one scene, I need to make the setting completely
white and with the location being a black box studio, this
may be difficult however with thick enough white sheets
and the correct lighting this should be possible
How does your location relate to the music video?
- the black box setting strongly relates to my video by
illustrating the darkness and imprisoning feeling the
character experiences from her deteriorated mental state
3. Location 2- Maidenhead
(garden/ pool)
Directions to get there?
- there is a bus stop directly outside the premises
-30 minute walk from Maidenhead train station
- the house is located on a private road that is just off of an
accessible main road (A404) which makes it very easy locate
What do you like about it?
-the location is very spacious
-the exterior has a lot of character as it is an old building making
it unique to my video and not something that is accesible to
many people as it is a family home
-the access to the private swimming pool is very useful for the
shooting of the video as there will be no time limit to how long I
can film there or any other interferences to the production
What problems might you encounter with it? How do you
plan to overcome them?
- due to the use of only natural lighting the atmosphere intended
in the shots may differ depending on the lighting/weather that
day however a change of atmosphere will not make a huge
difference to the narrative as long as the continuity in that
sequence is executed correctly
How does your location relate to the music video?
- by visually describing the overwhelming sense of drowning,
the underwater sequence symbolises the characters feeling of not
being able to escape her mind and having no control, effectively
'drowning' in her emtions. This sequence will also show the girl
making weird faces underwater to show the insanity the
emotions have induced on her.
4. Location 3- Windsor Great
Park
Directions to get there?
- A332 main road along side the field
- car park at Stag Meadows/Windsor FC
- main road runs through two sides of the great park, the Long
Walk leading up to the castle is on the opposite side to the Stag
Meadows area
What do you like about it?
-very scenic landscape especially when sunset occurs which is
when I would film here
- it is spacious enough that there will be an area with none of
the public around
What problems might you encounter with it? How do you
plan to overcome them?
- the time frame for filming during sunset is very limited so I
would have find the exact shot i need in advance so the time is
no wasted. I could also visit this location again at the same
time to reshoot any parts I was not happy with
How does your location relate to the music video?
-this location is used for the first sequence which is supposed
to show the contrast between the peaceful outside and the dark,
suffocating inside of the characters mind that is portrayed in
the rest of the video. The scenic, calming images show that no
matter how beautiful the surroundings are, her inescapable
mental conditions overrule all enjoyment and happiness.
