Essay about Possible Causes of the Holocaust
Most of the world will no longer deny the mass murder of millions of Jews during World War II (1939–1945). The Holocaust is not a secret anymore.
But was the Holocaust the brainchild of a deviant individual or was it an event that came only out of "necessity?" Was the Shoah intentional or was it
functional? Or will we ever know for sure? The answer to that question is no, at least not presently.
Historians searching for answers to the question of how the murder of a nation came about are often led into a dead end. There is not a single
document to be found affirming that genocide of the Jews was the original plan. What documents can be located are filled with ambiguities and
illusive language. The Jews were often referred to as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were death camps built specifically constructed to kill and dispose of the unwanted, the useless. The Nazis were extreme anti–Semitic
propagandists, but what divides the functionalists from the intentionalists are the interpretations of three major points: how one chooses to judge
Hitler, the time span between March of 1941 and the following autumn and how one follows the rhetoric of the Nazi party.
First, one must take a close look at the leader of the Third Reich, Adolf Hitler. He became chancellor in 1933 and Fuhrer in 1934, but his anti–Semitic
propaganda began long before then. The Nazi campaign against the Jews started as early as 1929. There is no argument that Hitler hated and blamed
the Jewish people for Germany?s economic downfall following World War I, he even went so far as to blame them for the loss of the war itself.
According to intentionalists ?Hitler is seen as the driving force of Nazi anti–Semitic policy?? (Marrus, 35).
Intentionalist Lucy Dawidowicz argues that starting with Hitler?s attack on Poland in September 1939, he used the war to create confusion, to cover
up his intentions of mass murder (Marrus, 35).
Hitler ran the Third Reich through verbal orders, rarely communicating with underlings, rather than official documentation. Raul Hilberg refers to this
as ?government by announcement? (Marrus, 34). Hitler?s obsession with Jewish genocide became clearer as his

The Real World During Quantum-Mechanical Experiments
We've already discussed some of the experimental phenomena that inspire competing interpretations or theories of what's going on in the real world
during quantum–mechanical experiments. (In brief: Observing microscopic particles seems to either: cause them to randomly take one result or the
other; create a branching world for every possible outcome; or require hidden variables and allow for faster–than–light, nonlocal communication.
Particles seem not to take one path, not the other, not both, and not neither, and even act as if they "know" when we're observing them.)
In this final installment of a three–article series, we'll look in very broad strokes at some of the philosophical implications of these views of quantum
mechanics.
I. Logic
Standard logic is two–valued. That just means that each sentence in the logic is true or false, not both, and not neither. 'My cat's breath smells like cat
food' is either true or false; it can't both smell that way and not smell that way at the same time to the same person, and surely it either does or it
doesn't. But as we've seen, some interpretations of quantum mechanics might suggest adding in a new value.1 Perhaps Copenhagen–style
interpretations indicate that we should have a value of neither–a truth–value "gap"–and Copenhagen and many–worlds interpretations indicate that we
should have a value of both: a truth–value "glut."2 As it happens, there are independent philosophical reasons to explore three– or four–valued logics
(and

Causes of American Poverty and Possible Solutions Essay
Poverty is not a simple issue. You cannot ask a question about poverty and get one universal response. There are many conflicting ideas about what
poverty is, and more importantly, where it comes from. The make–up of American society shows that so much in life can depend on one's family.
Having opportune circumstances can land people jobs, but having the opposite can also perpetuate the depression and reality of poverty for others.
When people have reasons not to seize their days, they might sink deeper and deeper into the belief that they cannot truly escape poverty. People need
to have the proper assistance to breakaway from poverty and lead successful lives. Poverty in America is largely due to the government's
overcompensation of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This money would be so much better spent on education or self–help programs. Services that have the future of the poor in mind are where government
benefits need to be attached. If poor children can be the first in their family to obtain a legitimate education, they can help turn their family around.
The furthering of these children's education can lead to financial aid in college and a job upon graduating. New generations of young people attaining
an excellent education can inspire other children in similar situations. Again, this requires a proper allocation of support. Conversely, according to
Schiller (2008), the Flawed Character theory, "Sees individuals as in full control of their socioeconomic status" (p. 66). This over–generalized
statement should not be properly attributed to poor children in desolate living conditions. Being a poor individual does not mean you are permanently
stuck there, but it can hinder your development. Children are not seemingly in full control of their status when they are told by their parents to live off
the government. This ideal could make children more than likely to heed this ill–advised lesson. Children being brought up on the belief that less effort
is better would be a true testament to the ineptitude of this system. On the other hand, with money being spent on young people for education, the
control of their lives increases much more. The belief that being poor will deny any opportunities can be greatly

A Look into Some Causes, Effects, and Possible Solutions of Deforestation in the Global Environment
I.Introduction With society's demand and need for the earth's resources, deforestation has long been a prevalent environmental issue at hand and has
picked up significant momentum more recently. Deforestation occurs around the world, however, according to GRID–Arendal, it is most prevalent in
areas with tropical rainforests such as Brazil, Indonesia, Thailand, the Democratic Republic of Congo and other parts of Africa, and parts of Eastern
Europe (Szalay 1). For a number of reasons, trees are being cleared at massive levels resulting in poor quality land and have created negative effects
and impacts on the global environment. Since deforestation is caused by both human and natural factors such as wildfires and overgrazing, it is
difficult to completely pinpoint one cause ("Deforestation" 1). However, researching and looking at which causes are most impactful can help deduce
possible solutions to help prevent unnecessary and excessive tree clearing. It is important to look into solutions to help prevent deforestation because it
is negatively impacting the world's environment and making it difficult for certain animals, such as birds, and even humans to maintain their standard
of living and their quality of life. And so, in an attempt to delve a bit deeper with regards to deforestation, this paper will

The Possible Causes Of Hurricane Katrina
Weather Disasters Earth is the only planet known to support life, but has a dark side that is demonstrated every year. Whether by earthquakes, floods,
tornadoes, or hurricanes, the Earth is an extremely active planet, and humans living upon it must heed the potential for danger. One of the worst of
these disasters to occur came in the form of Hurricane Katrina during an 8 days span in August of 2005. Hurricane Katrina impacted the coast of
Louisiana and changed the area immensely, not only at that time, but the changes can still be seen today, nearly a decade later. From Tropical
Depression to Hurricane Not every tropical depression becomes a hurricane, but when a tropical depression is discovered, it is watched with great

time the flooding was complete, over 80 percent of New Orleans was under water, with an estimated 300,000 homes destroyed or uninhabitable,
nearly 120 million cubic yards of debris littered the entire area (Plyer, n.d.). Over 1,800 people lost their lives during the devastation, 40 percent of
those were due to drowning, 25 percent due to trauma and injuries, and 11 percent due to heart failure, with nearly 70 percent of all the victims 60
years of age and older (Hurricane Katrina, n.d.). In addition, over 100 offshore oil and gas platforms were destroyed, over 400 oil and gas pipelines
were damaged, and the resulting oil spill nearly reached the levels of the Exxon Valdez disaster in 1989 (Hurricane Katrina, n.d.). Beyond the
devastation, Hurricane Katrina displaced more than one million residents living near the Gulf Coast, many of them returning within a few days, but
over a month later over half a million residents remained displaced (Plyer, n.d.). The population of New Orleans decreased from nearly 485,000 in
the year 2000, to only 230,000 in July, 2006, and in 2012 the population numbers were still only 76 percent of the total in the year 2000 (Plyer,

Suicide: Root Causes and Possible Prevention Strategies
Suicide Prevention Methods
Over the last several years, the issue of suicide and how to prevent it has been continually brought to the forefront. This is because these numbers are
high in many countries around the globe. The different figures are showing, how 877 thousand lives are lost to it worldwide every single year. These
amounts will vary from one country to the next, with Europe and the United States reporting the highest levels. Most notably: 10% for every 100
thousand deaths (in Europe) and 11% (inside the US). While other areas, mainly Latin America and Muslim countries averaged 6.5%. (Mann, 2005)
These differences are underscoring the primary causes of suicide and why it is so prevalent in other regions. To fully understand what is happening,
Mann (2005) conducted a review of the underlying origins of the problem, why it is higher in certain areas and the best ways to prevent it. Together,
these elements are offering specific insights. That will assist researchers in understanding the main causes and the best strategies for reducing them.
(Mann, 2005)
In the study, Mann concluded that the changing suicide rates are based upon cultural differences in how people deal with their problems. This means
that the US and Europe will report higher numbers because of the standard of living and common social customs / practices which are embraced. At the
same time, he found that it is often under reported in many developing nations (such as: China, India, the Middle East

Abstract
This paper explores the causes, effects and possible solutions of the deforestation of the Amazon Forest. It is important to understand why more than
580,000 square kilometers of Amazon forest has been destroyed in Brazil since 1980 (Rhett Butler 2012). The main topics of this paper, in order to
fully explore the issue at hand, will include: 1. What is Deforestation? 2. What Are the Major Causes of Deforestation in the Amazon? 3. What are the

One of the most famous failed infrastructures is the attempted construction of Brazil's Trans–Amazonian Highway in the 1970's. The 2,000 mile
highway was planned to bisect the Amazon forest, opening rainforest land for settlement of poor farmers from the over crowded north as well as
allowing for the development of timber and access to mineral resources. Citizens who moved would be granted 250 acres of land, six month's salary
and easy loans in exchange for settling near the highway and transforming the surrounding rainforest into agricultural land (Butler 2012). This project
was plagued in various aspects because the highway was deemed unstable during heavy rainfalls that would block traffic and leave crops to rot. Since
the soil of the rainforest hold no nutrients, the slash and burn agriculture mentioned above was used in order to plant crops. Because the soil
eventually returns to it's original state, the nutrients in the previously burned crops already absorbed by the second harvest (the first is a "bumper
crop" because the first harvest grows vigorously quickly soaking up the freshly released

Is Hemophilia A Possible Cause Of Unexpected Bleeding...
Introduction
Hemophilia is a possible cause of unexpected bleeding during surgery. This paper will discuss important topics related to hemophilia, including
pathology, risk factors, signs and symptoms, and treatment.
Anatomy and Physiology of Hemostasis
Hemostasis is the process whereby blood coagulates at the site of an injury to a blood vessel. Cellular components involved in hemostasis include
platelets, endothelial cells of blood vessels, tissue factor–bearing cells, and coagulation factors (Davoren & Wang, 2014). Coagulation factors are
specialized plasma proteins that circulate in the bloodstream in inactive forms. Most coagulation factors are activated by enzymes that catalyze their
conversion to active forms. The active forms then contribute to hemostasis. Factors VIII (FVIII) and IX (FIX) are the factors involved in the most
common forms of hemophilia. The coagulation cascade has many steps and reciprocal interactions; however, FVIII and FIX are most involved with the
following steps:
Injured blood vessel cells release tissue factor (TF), which activates factor VII.
Activated factor VII (FVIIa) and TF bind together to form complex TF–VIIa.
Complex TF–VIIa activates FIX and X.
Activated factor X converts prothrombin to thrombin.
Thrombin activates factors VIII, V, and XI.
Activated FVIII and FIX also convert prothrombin to thrombin (Davoren & Wang, 2014).
There are other coagulation factors, enzymes, and steps involved in the coagulation cascade. As

The Possible Cause Of The Salem Witch Trials
The Salem Witch Trials began in Salem, Massachusetts, 1690. To this day it is not completely clear why these trials began, but some believed that
physical and/or mental illness, like hysteria, was the cause. Others suggest that some of the local plants had been poisoned. The most reasonable cause
was that there was a pact amongst a group of girls that wanted revenge on some of the people in the town; since they accused many and had similar
accusations that could have been rehearsed. Other explanations include that the Puritans, coming from the same views from Europe, believed that
witchcraft was possible. Because of the already implanted idea that witches were real, in Salem witchcraft soon became the most believed cause for the
trials. There

hair and big dark eyes that were expecting a baby with Eric Birling, who was recognized by his father Arthur Birling a wealthy mill owner and
politician. Eva had been mistreated by each member of the Birling family and Gerald Croft, pushing Eva a little bit closer to committing suicide by

What Are The Possible Causes Of Halitosis?
What are the possible causes of halitosis?
–Candidate Number: 13432
Introduction:
Halitosis, or 'bad breath', is in modern societies a pitfall with negative social connotations. Indicative of poor personal hygiene, research suggests that
about half of the American adult population has halitosis (American Dental Assosciation, 2003).
By nature, what we refer to as halitosis was likely present since the existence of mankind, however perception of what makes breath 'bad' may not
have been as it is in current western societies; in which minty fresh breath often demarcates the standard against which individuals are compared and
sometimes even criticised. As such we see the impact that halitosis could have on social relations and therefore quality of life. (Elias & Ferriani, 2006)
(Andrade Lima, 1996)
In this project, I will discuss possible causes of genuine halitosis (bad breath that can be detected by odorant quantifying testing methods) but will not
delve into discussing pseudo halitosis or halitophobia (situations in which individuals believe themselves to have bad breath despite this not being the
case).
(1) The mechanism of genuine physiological halitosis:
Genuine halitosis can be further subdivided into physiologic and pathologic halitosis, as shown by figure 1 below.
The layman may blame meal constituents for their genuine halitosis, however diet is unlikely to produce long term oral malodour. The odorant
compounds are found in the exhaled breath of all people, but

The Argument For The Natural World
According to Aquinas arguments, the natural world includes everything that is in existence. This includes ideologies such as motion, God, gravity,
solar radiation, and our physical environment as whole. The natural world is not only made up of things that our senses can detect, such as touch and
smell, but is also includes things such as God and gravity which are unattainable through the senses. According to Immanuel Kant, the sensible world
includes anything that can become known to humans. The sensible world includes things such as time and space. By reviewing the definition of the
sensible world, the plausibility of the argument for the natural world is effected positively. Due to the fact that the natural world consists of things that
the human senses can detect, along with anything that is within the world, this argument goes hand in hand with the ideology of the sensible world. In
correlation with Aquinas's third argument, something cannot exist being necessary and noneternal because in order for a being to be necessary it must
be eternal. This is due to the fact that in Aquinas argument, a necessary being is eternal because nothing else brings it into existence. In order to better
understand an example of an object that would exists at some point in each possible world, but not at all times within the actual world, it is crucial to
understand the definition of each term. Elliot Sober defines the "actual world" as, "the totality of things that have existed, now

Causes of Burnout According to the case study, possible causes of burnout include the following: Working in a dysfunctional, chaotic or high pressure
environment: Chaotic and high pressure environments have been known to cause stress. Such environments usually lead to work overload. According
to Soreman & Garman (2013), a survey linked work related stress to employee engagement. Lack of appreciation, recognition or reward for your
efforts: According to Paula Davis–Laack J.D. (M.A.P.P., Pressure Proof), people who are not adequately rewarded often feel like they are being taken
for granted. In my opinion, when such a situation becomes the norm, employees begin to lose interest and become disenchanted with the job. In the

Americans are diagnosed with this illness, although not much is known about it. Scientists have still not been able to pin point what causes

The part of the brain that is mostly impacted is the prefrontal cortex, which helps with thinking and planning. The team focused on a location in the
human genome called the MHC. They found that the MHC has four variants of C4, which produced two different proteins, C4–A and C4–B. After
analyzing 64,000 people they concluded that schizophrenics were more likely to have overactive forms of C4–A than non–schizophrenic people. This
finding made them believe the C4–A was the gene which may cause schizophrenia. This idea was then tested by Dr. Stevens, an assistant professor of
neurology. Mice were used in the experiment to see if the nonexistence of the gene which produces C4 would impact the synaptic pruning. The
experiment showed that the mice bred without the C4 producing gene showed a problematic synaptic pruning process. This further supported
McCarroll and Steven's theory that too much C4–A causes an excessive amount of pruning during development of the brain. This all explains why
schizophrenics have a thinner prefrontal

The Possible Causes of Cleft Lip and Palate
Cleft lip and/or palate is a condition where the tissue of the lip did not completely close during embryotic formation that affects 1 in 700 people
born. Though not immediately fatal, the disorder can cause complications with consuming and speech that could lead to more serious problems.
The only way to fix the gap is to surgically go in and sew the two sides of the lip/palate together; this is a comparable easier and faster solution than
other solutions out there for different disorders. Many people who get the surgery recover fine, have slight physical differences, and are able to
succeed in society like anyone else (condition does not hinder mental state or ability drastically). This condition has many different phenotypes that
fall in two categories, unilateral cleft and bilateral cleft (Dixon et al., 2011). In a unilateral cleft, only one side of the palate or lip is affected
(asymmetrical) while in a bilateral cleft, both sides are affected usually in a symmetric pattern. Because of the large range of phenotypes, it is very
difficult to trace back to certain genes and factors and figure out how these factors together influence the expression of the trait. Cleft lip and/or palate
can be expressed by itself, called non–syndromic, or with other conditions including Kabuki syndrome, called syndromic (Dixon et al., 2011).
Depending on the type of disorder, this condition is caused by different chromosomes and mutations on these chromosomes. For example, if it is indeed

"rehabilitation" and the different programs that could be implemented in order to get these crooks mentally healthy and ready to be released back into
society. What does come to one's mind more often than not, are the negative behaviors that got these men and women into the prison system in the first
place, the punishment that will be laid out for them, the long hours that are going to be spent thinking about what they have done to not only their life,

The problem is that many people keep going back to institutions and have been since childhood. It ends up being a place of comfort for them instead
of a place of punishment because they have had no way of learning any other way. How do you expect a human being to learn their lesson and change
for the better and be a productive member of society when the same corruption that happened outside the penitentiary takes place inside?
It is no surprise that prison is supposed to be a place of punishment, where an individual is sent away to pay for their wrongdoings and reflect on their
behavior and the harm that it caused others. Many people have this idea that they should rot in jail for the pain they have caused others and that they
deserve this type of treatment. In some instances I agree with it to a certain extent but on the other hand it is useful to think about what causes these
individuals to lead a life of crime in the first place and what could be done to help these people become better while locked up. Often times the same
behavior that got these men and women into prison in the first place is continued while incarcerated. I think this is partly due to the fact that prison is
better at punishing people rather than helping to rehabilitate them. Wouldn't it make more sense to have certain classes and programs implemented in

at the time. Europe during the late nineteenth century, going in the twentieth century was in a very tense state, ready to explode at any moment. This...

of them. Socially the lives of women and minorities were also changed. During the war the factories back home had to be operated by the women
because all the men were being sent off to war so for the first time they had separate income from their husbands and independence as well. The
minorities, black Americans, especially, saw a difference in treatment themselves when on the front lines by their allied soldiers. This taste in
difference treatment for these two groups planted the seeds of change that would eventually come. The economy of many European countries were
exhausted as well, while countries like America and Japan flourished. "the United States and Japan reaped the biggest gains and emerged as leaders

Germany for the heavy costs of the war, they demanded they pay the allies back in full in the Treaty of Versailles. This condition completely destroyed
Germany's economy and standard of living, causing massive inflation in their attempts to pay the allied countries back. These

The Possible Causes Of The American Civil War
The American Civil War was a revolutionary conflict between the Northern American states and the Southern American states from 1861 to 1865. The
Northern States thought that slavery should be banned and the slaves brought from Africa should be given rights. At the time, the Southern States had
a very large amount of Cotton Farms, and rich white men ran them without doing the physically and mentally demanding work in awful weather. In
1860, Abraham Lincoln was elected the 16th president of the still new United States of America. Lincoln created the proclamation of Emancipation on
January 1st, 1863. States like North Carolina, West Virginia, and Kansas hadn't joined America. They became very angry after Lincoln passed the law,
and became the Confederate States of America. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
President Lincoln declared war on the rebel nation. The real fighting began in 1862 where nearly a million men died fighting along 1200 miles from
Virginia to Missouri. From 1862 to 1865 General Robert E. Lee successfully defended against the unions attacks, however at Appomattox, Virginia,
Ulysses S. Grant cornered and controlled Lee's army. However, many smaller armies won many battles against the Confederate States. In 1865, General
William Sherman led his army into Confederate Georgia and South Carolina, destroying their economy, while George Thomas, another general
destroyed the Confederate States Army of Tennessee in the Battle of Nashville. Eventually, the Confederacy surrendered and the North was victorious.
After however, the Southern States created the Jim Crow Laws, were even thought the Abraham Lincoln declared the Proclamation of Emancipation,

The Potential Causes And Possible Treatment Of Exercise...
The potential causes and possible treatment of exercise addiction
Unquestionably, physical activity complements the quality of life for an individual, while exercising on a regular basis results in many benefits.
Nevertheless despite the great benefit of sport, many experts commonly agree that physical activity may be harmful. One of the unfavourable areas
within sport, which is frequently examined by researchers, is exercise addiction. The predominance of exercise addiction is quite rare in reality, but
when present conflicting consequences can be calamitous (De Coverley Veale, 1987; Szabo, 2007).
Szabo (1998) proposed that those addicted to exercise will experience a more compelling withdrawal than dedicated exercisers. A comprehensive
manner to distinguish between both sets of individuals may be through the actions and intentions for exercise of the individuals. Exercise addiction
between an athlete which is healthy and an exercise addict may be sharing very similar levels of training; the difference is the mental approach and
attitude taken by each individual. The individual addicted to exercise is unable to see the real value in unnecessary exercise and is resolute in pursuing
his sport despite it being against his best interest.
The definition of exercise addiction is complemented by six common symptoms of exercise addiction: mood modification, salience, withdrawal
symptoms, relapse, tolerance and personal conflict (Brown, 1993; Griffiths, 2005).

Possible Causes Of Ocean Pollution
Ocean pollution is caused by many factors where society is the major contributor to this problem. The causes are Gyres, Oil Spills and Land Runoffs.
In order to keep our oceans clean we should control the amount of trash that is produced.
Gyres
When something so huge and beautiful like the ocean is threatened by the Garbage Patch it is important to protect it. There is one thing that connects
everyone, no matter where they are at, which is the ocean. The ocean is not only home to animals, but it is also a home for surfers and people around
the world. The ocean makes 75 percent of the earth.
The Garbage Patch of the Pacific Ocean contains marine debris which is solid material that is manufactured by humans and ends up in the ocean either

has on marine mammals and problems that people do not want to talk about. The author did not really have a thesis, is was more informational and

Possible Causes Of Jealousy In Relationship
Possible causes of jealousy and its effects on a relationship
One of the most authentic causes of jealousy is unhealthy comparisons. By human nature people are often comparing things and one another.
Insecurity – There is no greater source of jealousy in a relationship than insecurity, which is a result of "inferiority complex" or lack of self–confidence
or having low self–esteem. An insecure person believes that he or she is not good enough; they assume that everyone else is better than they are and
are therefore easily intimidated by other people's success, happiness, brilliance, possession or class. Insecurity which can arise as a result of peer
pressure or unbalanced societal expectations or judgment causes people to become vulnerable to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jealousy is a sign that something is seriously wrong about your relationship. And most often it is not about your partner but rather about you. Do you
have trust issues? Do you have a low self–esteem? Do you feel the need to control your partner's whereabouts and actions? All these things will do
more damage than good to your relationship.
Nobody wants a jealous lover. Jealousy will simply sap the energy and beauty out of your relationship. According to Eharmony.com "Jealousy is all
about trying to restrict, manipulate, and monitor another person's behavior and choices. Look out if your relationship is increasingly filled with
questions such as, "Where were you? Why were you talking to him? Who sent you that text message? You heard from that person on Facebook again?
A relationship thrives on freedom – the freedom to grow and develop, to be authentic and genuine, to pursue new opportunities. Unfounded jealousy is
a stranglehold sure to suffocate any romantic relationship. Want a lasting, healthy love relationship? Make sure both partners have the space,
encouragement, and autonomy to be who they are – without someone else watching every breath and

Those who follows Friedman's school of thought, such as Ben Bernanke Chairman of the Federal Reserve till 2014, believe that the Great Depression
was produced due to failure of government– failure of the monetary policy and the Federal Reserve. They believe that the Federal Reserve did nothing
to prevent the decline of money supply and banks failed in turn. They believe that yes, it would still have been a recession but it would have been
over within maximum of 2 years, and not dragged on for a decade. They believe that the depression would have been curbed if only the Federal
Reserve printed more money. However, one can argue that the Federal Reserve's decision to lower interest rates in the early 1920s caused an increase
in money supply and thus higher credit and consumer spending resulting in speculation and the stock market crash. Therefore, perhaps printing more
money is not the right

Parenting In Amy Chua's 'Why Chinese Mothers Are Superior'
Some may think that parenting is easy and some think that parenting is difficult. Parenting can be difficult due to how it takes a lot of time.
However, it becomes easy once a child learns. It is important to be a good parent for a child because that way a child builds his or her
understandings of life in general. A child is raised by good parents because they are like good mentors. Good parents will help raise and guide their
children to success. A child is raised successful once it develops the ability to imagine according to Alison Gopnik in "Possible Worlds" as well as
develop the ability to discover ideas from conversations according to Sherry Turkle in "The Empathy Diaries". However, Amy Chua in "Why
Chinese Mothers are Superior" believes that it is best to raise their children to succession using threats. Well some may say that Chua's use of
threats is great for children to understand about life, but personally, it only hurts a child. Her use of threats and aggression only creates a bad
environment for children to live in. It may cause children to feel shameful about themselves at times. Most likely, a child who is raised with such
harshness will develop bad character which places them in a bad area. It becomes more important for a child to be raised by good parents who
provide them with good care and safety that way a child happily lives successfully. Parents should raise their child in a way where he or she is put into
a happier environment so that confidence is

The Major Types and Possible Causes of Schizophrenia
Schizophrenia is a severe, debilitating disabling disease. There are more than two million Americans who suffer with schizophrenia in any given year.
Some of the symptoms of schizophrenia are hallucinations, delusions, apathy, lack of emotion, disorganized thoughts, difficulty concentrating or
following instructions and memory problems. There are no lab tests to diagnose schizophrenia and most times the patient is misdiagnosed with a
diagnosis of bipolar disorder or major depression ("Daily schizophrenia news," 2013). There are several major types of schizophrenia but there are five
that are more common; disorganized, catatonic, paranoid, undifferentiated and residual. Scientists are leaning toward prenatal difficulties as to the
development of schizophrenia with genetics also playing a big part. Schizophrenia
Schizophrenia is a chronic, severe, and disabling brain disease with approximately one percent of the population developing schizophrenia during their

although, the disorder often appears earlier in men, than in women. Men are usually affected in their late teens or early twenties, and women in their
twenties to early thirties. People with schizophrenia often suffer terrifying symptoms such as hearing internal voices, or believing that other people are

Possible Causes of Silas Deane's Death
There are quite a few reasons for Silas Deane's death that historians have come up with after studying his life and the people around him. Though,
we will never know which one is truly the correct answer to the mystery of how he died. In 1789, after many years of living alone and unhappily in
England Deane finally decided that he would book a passage on a ship sailing to the United States. However, he would never make it back to the states.
While trying to wait out a storm that had come up on the Boston Packet Silas Deane became ill, he complained that he felt dizzy and had an
oppression at this stomach. Deane was put to bed, where soon later his condition worsened, twice he dried to say something but no one was ever able

After studying Silas Deane's life following his death it was discovered that he was very depressed by his poverty, low reputation and poor health. So
a rumor was begun that he consequently committed suicide on the Boston Packet sailing back to the United States. One of Silas' greatest friends,
John Cutting, reported that Deane had prearranged to take an adequate quantity of Laudanum to ensure his dissolution before the ship would dock in
America. Thus now this becomes the most likely cause of his death; that Deane, who was extremely depressed, chose to take his life shortly after
boarding the ship sailing to America. The only fault that would come to this conclusion is why would Silas go to all that trouble of packing/buying
food and supplies for the voyage when he could have just killed himself at his home in England, this now brings us to the last possible cause of his
death. Later, we found out that Silas Deane's long time friend Edward Bancroft was double–dealing of sorts, Bancroft was a known spy to the
Americas but no one knew that he was also a spy for the British as well until British documents from that time were released to the public library; we
then learned that Edward Bancroft was on the payroll as a spy for the British. Then several wondered if Deane knew that his long time friend was a
double spy, many believed so. After learning more into the friendship of these

The Growing Popularity Of Plastic Surgery: Possible Causes
Introduction In basic terms, plastic surgery concerns itself with the enhancement or alteration of an individual's body using various surgical
procedures. It can be noted that in recent times, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of people seeking plastic surgery. In this text, I
concern myself with the primary causes of this growing trend. The Growing Popularity of Plastic Surgery: Possible Causes To begin with, it can
be noted that people's obsession with plastic surgery in recent times has largely been informed by the media's increased glorification of perfection
and beauty. Indeed, according to Porterfield (2007), "actors and entertainers set an unrealistic ideal body image that leads to many people's
dissatisfaction with their own perceived imperfections." Hence in their quest to look like their favorite stars as portrayed by the media, some
people seek to alter or enhance their body features through plastic surgery. Secondly, recent advances in technology have effectively brought down
the costs associated with plastic surgery. Indeed, plastic surgery is no longer a preserve of the rich. As Bosshart (2006) notes, the reconstruction of
a single breast of a woman a couple of years ago went for an upwards of US $10,000. The same "is now possible for a mere US $600" (Bosshart, 2006).
Thus those who could not afford plastic surgery in the past due to the prohibitive costs of such a procedure can now afford the same. Next, unlike in
the past,

Explain One Possible Cause Of The Great Human Migration
1.Identify and explain one example of non–historical evidence for human migration out of Africa.
Throughout his article, "The Great Human Migration," Guy Gugliotta analyzes various evidence that support the theory of human migration out of
Africa. Gugliotta explains how scientists use mitochondrial DNA, which is passed on only from one's mother and has a fast mutation rate, to trace
modern humans' origin. By analyzing modern mitochondrial DNA and working backwards, scientists have found that a woman alive in Africa 200,000
years ago had the mitochondrial DNA that is found in people alive today. The woman was named "Eve" and she is, what scientists call, our "most
recent common ancestor." DNA evidence showed that she lived in Africa, which supports the "out of Africa" theory because it proves that modern
humans originated in Africa. These findings link Africa as the hearth of modern humans all over the world and demonstrates that early humans
migrated out of Africa.

As recent scientific evidence shows, Africa may have suffered from a lack of water roughly 100,000 years ago. Since water is essential for human life,
the absence of precipitation may have caused early humans to migrate to other parts of the world. Scientists found evidence which establishes that
modern humans were separated into small, dispersed groups due to the droughts. After the droughts ended, people decided to migrate to parts of Asia
in order to ensure survival. The African people did not want to risk another drought, so they decided to begin emigrating out of Africa and exploring
the rest of the world. The water deficiency in Africa may have caused modern humans to migrate out of Africa and begin inhabiting other regions of the

Possible Causes Of Economic Inequality In The United States
In recent years, the largest protests launched by the economic weak can be said to be fought. The issue of "inequality between the rich and the poor" in
the process of economic development has aroused numerous discussions. However, there is no statement about its causes and consequences. The
causes of inequality can be divided into three points. First, the economically distorting free market mechanism leads to inequality between the rich and
the poor. Second, political, national or political parties have different policy options. Third, the politics and economy of the joint system leads to
unequal deterioration. The uneven inequality is caused by the uneven distribution of political resources from the transformation of economic resources.

Competition mechanism extends to various areas of economic life and will cause a lot of misplaced resources. There is always too much manpower
and resources to pursue the pursuit of certain higher paid professionals or awards, rather than the average distribution of different production processes
to the interests of society maximized. At the same time, the waste of social resources also makes the result of economic growth not be evenly
distributed, and brings a small number of winners while other people's income gap widening results. Politics and economy are conjoined; they cannot
live without each other. Political and economic impact is a mutual role. The development of the economy provides a material basis and a real guarantee
for political stability. Political unity for the economic development provides a good condition and foundation. But the political structure problems
cannot be solved by the economy. Economic problems cannot be understood from the political side. The two are independent of the two

Obesity: The Most Possible Causes Of Death
Obesity ranks second among preventable causes of death. Considering many will argue that obesity is a disease because it meets the required
definition of disease, in reality, obesity is not a disease; it is an unhealthy lifestyle with only negative effects. Although it does meet the need of the
definition, it is simply a preventable risk that leads to other unwanted health issues such as strokes, type 2 diabetes, cancers, high cholesterol and
high blood pressure. Background and Causes To properly understand the seriousness of obesity, it's important to know the background of the issue.
A person's body mass index or BMI is used to decide if he or she is obese. Body mass index is found by dividing a person's weight by his or her height.

Some examples of unpreventable causes are genetics and certain diseases that may play a role in obesity. "If a biologic mother is heavy as an adult,
there is a 75% chance that her children will be heavy." (Obesity: Facts, Figures, Guidelines). Another genetic cause of obesity is leptin deficiency.
FACEP claims that leptin is a hormone produced in fat cells and controls weight by signaling the brain to eat less when body fat stores are too high.
Genetics are not the only thing that causes obesity without a way to stop it. Certain diseases such as hypothyroidism, insulin resistance, polycystic
ovary syndrome, and Cushing's syndrome can lead to obesity (FACEP). Obesity is a side effect of these diseases and is not something one can

Psychodynamic focuses on the conscience and unconscious mind of an individual where as Behaviourism, is based on the behaviour of the individual

Those who practice behaviour therapy are called behaviourists and tend to look more at specific, learned behaviours and how the environment has an
impact on those behaviours. (2) They tend to look for treatment outcomes that are objectively measurable. (3) Most behaviour therapists use

what the individuals problem may be. As behaviour therapists believe that current behaviours arise from previous physical events, I do not think that
this therapy would be best suited to a paitent with an Internet addiction disorder, I believe that the patient has an underlying disorder such as depression

Possible Causes of the Holocaust: Understanding the Intentionalist vs Functional Debate

  • 1. Essay about Possible Causes of the Holocaust Most of the world will no longer deny the mass murder of millions of Jews during World War II (1939–1945). The Holocaust is not a secret anymore. But was the Holocaust the brainchild of a deviant individual or was it an event that came only out of "necessity?" Was the Shoah intentional or was it functional? Or will we ever know for sure? The answer to that question is no, at least not presently. Historians searching for answers to the question of how the murder of a nation came about are often led into a dead end. There is not a single document to be found affirming that genocide of the Jews was the original plan. What documents can be located are filled with ambiguities and illusive language. The Jews were often referred to as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There were death camps built specifically constructed to kill and dispose of the unwanted, the useless. The Nazis were extreme anti–Semitic propagandists, but what divides the functionalists from the intentionalists are the interpretations of three major points: how one chooses to judge Hitler, the time span between March of 1941 and the following autumn and how one follows the rhetoric of the Nazi party. First, one must take a close look at the leader of the Third Reich, Adolf Hitler. He became chancellor in 1933 and Fuhrer in 1934, but his anti–Semitic propaganda began long before then. The Nazi campaign against the Jews started as early as 1929. There is no argument that Hitler hated and blamed the Jewish people for Germany?s economic downfall following World War I, he even went so far as to blame them for the loss of the war itself. According to intentionalists ?Hitler is seen as the driving force of Nazi anti–Semitic policy?? (Marrus, 35). Intentionalist Lucy Dawidowicz argues that starting with Hitler?s attack on Poland in September 1939, he used the war to create confusion, to cover up his intentions of mass murder (Marrus, 35). Hitler ran the Third Reich through verbal orders, rarely communicating with underlings, rather than official documentation. Raul Hilberg refers to this as ?government by announcement? (Marrus, 34). Hitler?s obsession with Jewish genocide became clearer as his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. The Real World During Quantum-Mechanical Experiments We've already discussed some of the experimental phenomena that inspire competing interpretations or theories of what's going on in the real world during quantum–mechanical experiments. (In brief: Observing microscopic particles seems to either: cause them to randomly take one result or the other; create a branching world for every possible outcome; or require hidden variables and allow for faster–than–light, nonlocal communication. Particles seem not to take one path, not the other, not both, and not neither, and even act as if they "know" when we're observing them.) In this final installment of a three–article series, we'll look in very broad strokes at some of the philosophical implications of these views of quantum mechanics. I. Logic Standard logic is two–valued. That just means that each sentence in the logic is true or false, not both, and not neither. 'My cat's breath smells like cat food' is either true or false; it can't both smell that way and not smell that way at the same time to the same person, and surely it either does or it doesn't. But as we've seen, some interpretations of quantum mechanics might suggest adding in a new value.1 Perhaps Copenhagen–style interpretations indicate that we should have a value of neither–a truth–value "gap"–and Copenhagen and many–worlds interpretations indicate that we should have a value of both: a truth–value "glut."2 As it happens, there are independent philosophical reasons to explore three– or four–valued logics (and ... • 3. Causes of American Poverty and Possible Solutions Essay Poverty is not a simple issue. You cannot ask a question about poverty and get one universal response. There are many conflicting ideas about what poverty is, and more importantly, where it comes from. People need to have the proper assistance to breakaway from poverty and lead successful lives. Poverty in America is largely due to the government's overcompensation of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This money would be so much better spent on education or self–help programs. Services that have the future of the poor in mind are where government benefits need to be attached. If poor children can be the first in their family to obtain a legitimate education, they can help turn their family around. The furthering of these children's education can lead to financial aid in college and a job upon graduating. New generations of young people attaining an excellent education can inspire other children in similar situations. Again, this requires a proper allocation of support. Conversely, according to Schiller (2008), the Flawed Character theory, "Sees individuals as in full control of their socioeconomic status" (p. 66). This over–generalized statement should not be properly attributed to poor children in desolate living conditions. Being a poor individual does not mean you are permanently stuck there, but it can hinder your development. Children are not seemingly in full control of their status when they are told by their parents to live off the government. This ideal could make children more than likely to heed this ill–advised lesson. Children being brought up on the belief that less effort is better would be a true testament to the ineptitude of this system. On the other hand, with money being spent on young people for education, the control of their lives increases much more. The belief that being poor will deny any opportunities can be greatly ... • 4. A Look Into Some Causes, Effects, And Possible Solutions... Ameera Jafrey Professor Syvates ENST 150 September 22, 2014 A Look into Some Causes, Effects, and Possible Solutions of Deforestation in the Global Environment I.Introduction With society's demand and need for the earth's resources, deforestation has long been a prevalent environmental issue at hand and has picked up significant momentum more recently. Deforestation occurs around the world, however, according to GRID–Arendal, it is most prevalent in areas with tropical rainforests such as Brazil, Indonesia, Thailand, the Democratic Republic of Congo and other parts of Africa, and parts of Eastern Europe (Szalay 1). For a number of reasons, trees are being cleared at massive levels resulting in poor quality land and have created negative effects and impacts on the global environment. Since deforestation is caused by both human and natural factors such as wildfires and overgrazing, it is difficult to completely pinpoint one cause ("Deforestation" 1). However, researching and looking at which causes are most impactful can help deduce possible solutions to help prevent unnecessary and excessive tree clearing. It is important to look into solutions to help prevent deforestation because it is negatively impacting the world's environment and making it difficult for certain animals, such as birds, and even humans to maintain their standard of living and their quality of life. And so, in an attempt to delve a bit deeper with regards to deforestation, this paper will ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Whether by earthquakes, floods, tornadoes, or hurricanes, the Earth is an extremely active planet, and humans living upon it must heed the potential for danger. One of the worst of these disasters to occur came in the form of Hurricane Katrina during an 8 days span in August of 2005. Hurricane Katrina impacted the coast of Louisiana and changed the area immensely, not only at that time, but the changes can still be seen today, nearly a decade later. Over 1,800 people lost their lives during the devastation, 40 percent of those were due to drowning, 25 percent due to trauma and injuries, and 11 percent due to heart failure, with nearly 70 percent of all the victims 60 years of age and older (Hurricane Katrina, n.d.). In addition, over 100 offshore oil and gas platforms were destroyed, over 400 oil and gas pipelines were damaged, and the resulting oil spill nearly reached the levels of the Exxon Valdez disaster in 1989 (Hurricane Katrina, n.d.). Beyond the devastation, Hurricane Katrina displaced more than one million residents living near the Gulf Coast, many of them returning within a few days, but over a month later over half a million residents remained displaced (Plyer, n.d.). The population of New Orleans decreased from nearly 485,000 in the year 2000, to only 230,000 in July, 2006, and in 2012 the population numbers were still only 76 percent of the total in the year 2000 (Plyer, ... • 6. Suicide: Root Causes and Possible Prevention Strategies Suicide Prevention Methods Over the last several years, the issue of suicide and how to prevent it has been continually brought to the forefront. This is because these numbers are high in many countries around the globe. The different figures are showing, how 877 thousand lives are lost to it worldwide every single year. These amounts will vary from one country to the next, with Europe and the United States reporting the highest levels. Most notably: 10% for every 100 thousand deaths (in Europe) and 11% (inside the US). While other areas, mainly Latin America and Muslim countries averaged 6.5%. (Mann, 2005) These differences are underscoring the primary causes of suicide and why it is so prevalent in other regions. To fully understand what is happening, Mann (2005) conducted a review of the underlying origins of the problem, why it is higher in certain areas and the best ways to prevent it. Together, these elements are offering specific insights. That will assist researchers in understanding the main causes and the best strategies for reducing them. (Mann, 2005) In the study, Mann concluded that the changing suicide rates are based upon cultural differences in how people deal with their problems. This means that the US and Europe will report higher numbers because of the standard of living and common social customs / practices which are embraced. At the same time, he found that it is often under reported in many developing nations (such as: China, India, the Middle East ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is important to understand why more than 580,000 square kilometers of Amazon forest has been destroyed in Brazil since 1980 (Rhett Butler 2012). The main topics of this paper, in order to fully explore the issue at hand, will include: 1. What is Deforestation? 2. What Are the Major Causes of Deforestation in the Amazon? 3. A project such as mining take up a significant amount of space and forces the destruction of deep–rooted land due to the depth they must dig. [pic] Figure 1. Mining operations at Rio Huaypetue gold mine One of the most famous failed infrastructures is the attempted construction of Brazil's Trans–Amazonian Highway in the 1970's. The 2,000 mile highway was planned to bisect the Amazon forest, opening rainforest land for settlement of poor farmers from the over crowded north as well as allowing for the development of timber and access to mineral resources. Citizens who moved would be granted 250 acres of land, six month's salary and easy loans in exchange for settling near the highway and transforming the surrounding rainforest into agricultural land (Butler 2012). This project was plagued in various aspects because the highway was deemed unstable during heavy rainfalls that would block traffic and leave crops to rot. Since the soil of the rainforest hold no nutrients, the slash and burn agriculture mentioned above was used in order to plant crops. Because the soil eventually returns to it's original state, the nutrients in the previously burned crops already absorbed by the second harvest (the first is a "bumper crop" because the first harvest grows vigorously quickly soaking up the freshly released

  • 9. Is Hemophilia A Possible Cause Of Unexpected Bleeding... Introduction Hemophilia is a possible cause of unexpected bleeding during surgery. This paper will discuss important topics related to hemophilia, including pathology, risk factors, signs and symptoms, and treatment. Anatomy and Physiology of Hemostasis Hemostasis is the process whereby blood coagulates at the site of an injury to a blood vessel. Cellular components involved in hemostasis include platelets, endothelial cells of blood vessels, tissue factor–bearing cells, and coagulation factors (Davoren & Wang, 2014). Coagulation factors are specialized plasma proteins that circulate in the bloodstream in inactive forms. Most coagulation factors are activated by enzymes that catalyze their conversion to active forms. The active forms then contribute to hemostasis. Factors VIII (FVIII) and IX (FIX) are the factors involved in the most common forms of hemophilia. The coagulation cascade has many steps and reciprocal interactions; however, FVIII and FIX are most involved with the following steps: Injured blood vessel cells release tissue factor (TF), which activates factor VII. As ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To this day it is not completely clear why these trials began, but some believed that physical and/or mental illness, like hysteria, was the cause. Others suggest that some of the local plants had been poisoned. The most reasonable cause was that there was a pact amongst a group of girls that wanted revenge on some of the people in the town; since they accused many and had similar accusations that could have been rehearsed. Other explanations include that the Puritans, coming from the same views from Europe, believed that witchcraft was possible. Because of the already implanted idea that witches were real, in Salem witchcraft soon became the most believed cause for the trials. There ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. What Are The Possible Causes Of Halitosis? What are the possible causes of halitosis? –Candidate Number: 13432 Introduction: Halitosis, or 'bad breath', is in modern societies a pitfall with negative social connotations. Indicative of poor personal hygiene, research suggests that about half of the American adult population has halitosis (American Dental Assosciation, 2003). By nature, what we refer to as halitosis was likely present since the existence of mankind, however perception of what makes breath 'bad' may not have been as it is in current western societies; in which minty fresh breath often demarcates the standard against which individuals are compared and sometimes even criticised. As such we see the impact that halitosis could have on social relations and therefore quality of life. (Elias & Ferriani, 2006) (Andrade Lima, 1996) In this project, I will discuss possible causes of genuine halitosis (bad breath that can be detected by odorant quantifying testing methods) but will not delve into discussing pseudo halitosis or halitophobia (situations in which individuals believe themselves to have bad breath despite this not being the case). (1) The mechanism of genuine physiological halitosis: Genuine halitosis can be further subdivided into physiologic and pathologic halitosis, as shown by figure 1 below. The layman may blame meal constituents for their genuine halitosis, however diet is unlikely to produce long term oral malodour. • 16. The Argument For The Natural World According to Aquinas arguments, the natural world includes everything that is in existence. This includes ideologies such as motion, God, gravity, solar radiation, and our physical environment as whole. The natural world is not only made up of things that our senses can detect, such as touch and smell, but is also includes things such as God and gravity which are unattainable through the senses. According to Immanuel Kant, the sensible world includes anything that can become known to humans. The sensible world includes things such as time and space. By reviewing the definition of the sensible world, the plausibility of the argument for the natural world is effected positively. Due to the fact that the natural world consists of things that the human senses can detect, along with anything that is within the world, this argument goes hand in hand with the ideology of the sensible world. In correlation with Aquinas's third argument, something cannot exist being necessary and noneternal because in order for a being to be necessary it must be eternal. This is due to the fact that in Aquinas argument, a necessary being is eternal because nothing else brings it into existence. In order to better understand an example of an object that would exists at some point in each possible world, but not at all times within the actual world, it is crucial to understand the definition of each term. Case Study: Possible Causes Of Burnout Causes of Burnout According to the case study, possible causes of burnout include the following: Working in a dysfunctional, chaotic or high pressure environment: Chaotic and high pressure environments have been known to cause stress. Such environments usually lead to work overload. According to Soreman & Garman (2013), a survey linked work related stress to employee engagement. Lack of appreciation, recognition or reward for your efforts: According to Paula Davis–Laack J.D. In my opinion, when such a situation becomes the norm, employees begin to lose interest and become disenchanted with the job. In the long term, this would lead to employee burnout. Possible Cause Of Schizophrenia Essay Possible Cause for Schizophrenia Schizophrenia, defined by the National Institute of Mental Health is "...a chronic and severe mental disorder that affects how a person thinks, feels, and behaves..." Sufferers of this mental illness have many symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions, difficulty finding happiness, reduced speaking, trouble focusing, and many other symptoms which greatly impact their quality of life. Around two million Americans are diagnosed with this illness, although not much is known about it. Scientists have still not been able to pin point what causes schizophrenia. The part of the brain that is mostly impacted is the prefrontal cortex, which helps with thinking and planning. The team focused on a location in the human genome called the MHC. They found that the MHC has four variants of C4, which produced two different proteins, C4–A and C4–B. After analyzing 64,000 people they concluded that schizophrenics were more likely to have overactive forms of C4–A than non–schizophrenic people. This finding made them believe the C4–A was the gene which may cause schizophrenia. This idea was then tested by Dr. Stevens, an assistant professor of neurology. Mice were used in the experiment to see if the nonexistence of the gene which produces C4 would impact the synaptic pruning. The experiment showed that the mice bred without the C4 producing gene showed a problematic synaptic pruning process. This further supported McCarroll and Steven's theory that too much C4–A causes an excessive amount of pruning during development of the brain. • 22. The Possible Causes of Cleft Lip and Palate Cleft lip and/or palate is a condition where the tissue of the lip did not completely close during embryotic formation that affects 1 in 700 people born. Though not immediately fatal, the disorder can cause complications with consuming and speech that could lead to more serious problems. The only way to fix the gap is to surgically go in and sew the two sides of the lip/palate together; this is a comparable easier and faster solution than other solutions out there for different disorders. Many people who get the surgery recover fine, have slight physical differences, and are able to succeed in society like anyone else (condition does not hinder mental state or ability drastically). This condition has many different phenotypes that fall in two categories, unilateral cleft and bilateral cleft (Dixon et al., 2011). In a unilateral cleft, only one side of the palate or lip is affected (asymmetrical) while in a bilateral cleft, both sides are affected usually in a symmetric pattern. Because of the large range of phenotypes, it is very difficult to trace back to certain genes and factors and figure out how these factors together influence the expression of the trait. Cleft lip and/or palate can be expressed by itself, called non–syndromic, or with other conditions including Kabuki syndrome, called syndromic (Dixon et al., 2011). Depending on the type of disorder, this condition is caused by different chromosomes and mutations on these chromosomes. For example, if it is indeed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How do you expect a human being to learn their lesson and change for the better and be a productive member of society when the same corruption that happened outside the penitentiary takes place inside? It is no surprise that prison is supposed to be a place of punishment, where an individual is sent away to pay for their wrongdoings and reflect on their behavior and the harm that it caused others. Many people have this idea that they should rot in jail for the pain they have caused others and that they deserve this type of treatment. In some instances I agree with it to a certain extent but on the other hand it is useful to think about what causes these individuals to lead a life of crime in the first place and what could be done to help these people become better while locked up. Often times the same behavior that got these men and women into prison in the first place is continued while incarcerated. Nevertheless despite the great benefit of sport, many experts commonly agree that physical activity may be harmful. One of the unfavourable areas within sport, which is frequently examined by researchers, is exercise addiction. The predominance of exercise addiction is quite rare in reality, but when present conflicting consequences can be calamitous (De Coverley Veale, 1987; Szabo, 2007). Szabo (1998) proposed that those addicted to exercise will experience a more compelling withdrawal than dedicated exercisers. A comprehensive manner to distinguish between both sets of individuals may be through the actions and intentions for exercise of the individuals. Exercise addiction between an athlete which is healthy and an exercise addict may be sharing very similar levels of training; the difference is the mental approach and attitude taken by each individual. The individual addicted to exercise is unable to see the real value in unnecessary exercise and is resolute in pursuing his sport despite it being against his best interest. The Growing Popularity Of Plastic Surgery: Possible Causes Introduction In basic terms, plastic surgery concerns itself with the enhancement or alteration of an individual's body using various surgical procedures. It can be noted that in recent times, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of people seeking plastic surgery. In this text, I concern myself with the primary causes of this growing trend. The Growing Popularity of Plastic Surgery: Possible Causes To begin with, it can be noted that people's obsession with plastic surgery in recent times has largely been informed by the media's increased glorification of perfection and beauty. Indeed, according to Porterfield (2007), "actors and entertainers set an unrealistic ideal body image that leads to many people's dissatisfaction with their own perceived imperfections." Hence in their quest to look like their favorite stars as portrayed by the media, some people seek to alter or enhance their body features through plastic surgery. Secondly, recent advances in technology have effectively brought down the costs associated with plastic surgery. Indeed, plastic surgery is no longer a preserve of the rich. As Bosshart (2006) notes, the reconstruction of a single breast of a woman a couple of years ago went for an upwards of US $10,000. The same "is now possible for a mere US $600" (Bosshart, 2006). Throughout his article, "The Great Human Migration," Guy Gugliotta analyzes various evidence that support the theory of human migration out of Africa. Gugliotta explains how scientists use mitochondrial DNA, which is passed on only from one's mother and has a fast mutation rate, to trace modern humans' origin. By analyzing modern mitochondrial DNA and working backwards, scientists have found that a woman alive in Africa 200,000 years ago had the mitochondrial DNA that is found in people alive today. The woman was named "Eve" and she is, what scientists call, our "most recent common ancestor." DNA evidence showed that she lived in Africa, which supports the "out of Africa" theory because it proves that modern humans originated in Africa.
