Comparison Of Frogs And Koala
Frogs and Koala's habitat changes are very similar to each other, yet different. Both the Koala and the Frog are becoming endangered. Millions of
them dying every time, even when one individual person does it. This can happen by polluting the wetlands where Frogs live. The koala's are affected
by fewer, and fewer amounts of food. This is caused by goats, that eat the koala's food supplies, the Blue Gum Trees. Koala's need this to survive. The
reason humans affect Koala's, is because they are either careless or they want to help, but can't. It would be simple just to take the goats out of the
habitat, and move the pests somewhere else.
Frogs are much different compared to Koala's. Frogs are slimy, wet, jumpy creatures that live in wetlands. There are a various amount of frogs in the
world, the terrible thing is that the frogs are becoming extinct. The "Frog Search" article states that farmers sometimes pour poison in the wetlands.
Such as plant poisons that can affect frogs too. Thinking that it's just going to affect the plants, it affects the frogs. ... Show more content on

Will We Save Koalas Be Saved?
I believe that humans will save koalas instead of frogs. We are studying them and there Blue Gum trees. We are also not hunting or cutting down
anymore of their trees. From the research, we are not only saving the koalas in Australia but all over the world. Here are a few reasons why the
koalas will be saved. One reason is that we are studying koalas. In Australia, where koalas are native, scientist are studying the koala and the Blue
Gum trees. The are hoping to bring the koala population back to what it used to be. The article "The Koala Search" states that "The marsupial once
inhabited the entire coastline. The population dropped after farmers cut down many of the forests where koalas lived and hunters killed them for their
fur." Bill Ellis,

How The Bilby Influences Its Environment?
As a nocturnal forager the bilby takes refuge in burrows during the day to escape high daytime temperatures (Robinson & Morrison). The bilby has
been found to be highly intolerant to heat and becomes dangerously heat stressed at temperatures over 30В°C (Robinson & Morrison 1957; Morrison
1962). This could potentially signal an issue for the bilby with climate change as while most of us have noticed an increase in daytime temperatures,
there has actually been a larger increase in night–time temperatures and the bilby's current range is likely to experience some of the largest temperature
increases in Australia (Hughes 2003).
While the impacts of climate change on bilbies are not well understood, what is well documented is the importance of ... Show more content on

The preferred boulder fields of Mountain pygmy possums have a snow cover of up to 3m
A deep snow cover helps to insulate the hibernaculum from the much colder air temperatures
When the air temperature reaches –7В°C the hibernaculum stays a perfect 2В°C
Preferred boulder fields have around 120 days of snow cover while fields with less than 100 days of snow cover are not used
(Körtner & Geiser 1998, Shi et al. 2015)
Boulder fields with a southerly aspect are best for mountain pygmy possum hibernation
These fields maintain a thicker and longer snow cover as well as better hibernaculum temperatures

Soil turnover – as soil is moved around by digging animals, organic matter is mixed through which distributes nutrients throughout the soil
This benefits plants as well as important soil dwelling organisms

How To Write A Koala Essay
Koala Bear Today I'm going to tell you about the koala. Koala "Bears" are not really bears. They're marsupial, or pouched animals. Koalas live in
Eastern Australia, where the eucalyptus trees they love are most plentiful. They rarely leave their trees, and their sharp claws and opposable digits
easily keep them aloft. During the day they doze, tucked into forks, nooks, or little spaces in the tree, sleeping for up to around eighteen hours!
When Koalas aren't asleep they are feeding on eucalyptus leaves, especially at night. The only thing they eat is eucalyptus trees, and nothing else.
Koalas don't drink a lot of water but they get their moisture from the leaves that they eat. Each animal gets a tremendous amount for its size, it eats
about two and a half pounds of leaves a day! Koalas even store snacks of leaves in pouches in their cheeks. A special digestive system and a long
gut allows koalas to break down the tough eucalyptus leaves and remain unharmed by their poison Koalas eat so many of these leaves that they take
on a distinctive odor from their oil, reminiscent of cough drops. Now to talk about the birth of koalas. After a female koala gives birth she carries her...

There are fossils of koalas in Australia that have been dated as long as 20 million years ago! So as you can see they've been around for quite
awhile. Did you know that koalas can not be legalized as pets? That's kind of sad because they're so cute! Something very interesting is koalas have
very similar fingerprints as humans. The brain size of modern koalas has reduced quite substantially from their ancestors, possibly as an adaption to
the low energy they get from their diets. The closest living relative to the koala is the wombat. They're both marsupial mammals with big heads, sharp
teeth, small eyes, and a fluffy muscular bodies. They both have poor eyesight and hearing, but they both carry their babies in the pouches on their

Animals cannot create their own food, so they must gather nutrients from other organisms such as plants and/or other animals. Nutrition is a key
component to maintaining life. Animals absorb energy and digest food in different ways, depending on their specialized feeding mode and foraging
style. Koalas, for example, are leaf–eating herbivores that have specialized digestive systems to control energy and digestion. Akoala is an Australian
arboreal marsupial that is a folivore, leaf–eating herbivore, that feeds on Eucalyptus spp. Many animals are not able to feed on this leaf because it is
a toxic food source and is low in necessary nutrients. The leaves produce a large amount of water which prevents the koala from having to drink water.
Koalas have a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An adult koala can eat a range of 200 to 500 leaves a day to maintain energy. They have a very slow metabolic rate which enables them to hold in
food for a long time before excretion. Their food has a very low nutrient level which yields them from gaining a lot of energy ("Australian"). The
longer the food stays in the digestive tract, the more energy and nutrients are absorbed. The slow metabolic rate also takes a lot of their energy, so
they sleep 18–22 hours a day to store energy. Female koalas increase food intake during peak lactation to account for nutrient demands for her young
(Krockenberger, 2007, p.748). Another factor that can alter energy use includes foraging. Koalas typically stay in the same tree unless they must
relocate. Because their food is low in nutrients, it does not produce a lot of energy for them. Relocating to a different area would cause them to lose
a lot of energy. To make up for this energy loss, koalas must increase their food intake to maintain proper energy levels. They are exclusive browsers,
meaning they feed on one specific plant and will stick to that source or browse if unable to locate it (Cork, 1983,

1. Koala bears are well known for being one of Australians well known animal, along with the kangaroo. That being said, Koalas bears are not related
to bears, but instead kangaroo and wombat.
2. They inhabit the large Eastern part of Australia and can be found in large numbers in the Northeast and Southeast territory.
3. Koalas are native to Australia and are not home–grown to any other regions. Koala are also not found in Western Australia.
C. Can be found in other countries.
1. Wherever Eucalyptus trees are, you are most likely to spot a koala bear since that is their main food supply.
1. Other countries such as Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Australia have Koala bears living in their environment.
Transition: Now that we have covered where koala bears live, let's move on to how they survive.
III. (Main Point 3) The third thing I am going to talk about is what koala bears do to survive.
A. Eucalyptus leaves are very important for their survival considering that is mostly all they eat.
1. The baby koalas, called Joey's, feed off their mother's milk when first born. Once the Joey's eyes open, it starts to eat pap, which is leaves the
mother has partly digested and given to its young since they cannot eat fresh leaves at this age.

Ecology Koala Essay
This Ecology Essay is about Koalas being endangered. They are mainly endangered in Southeastern and Eastern Australia the State of Queensland, New
South Wales, South Australia and Victoria. This essay will talk about how they eat, their habitats, the threats, invasivespecies, population and density,
trophic levels, nutrient cycles and human interaction.
These beautiful thick fur, grey, with a little tinge of brown koalas are herbivorous marsupial that can range up to 9kg (20 lb) in weight. Their
nutrient cycle is eating eucalyptus leaves, koalas don't drink that much water they get it from the leaves. Koalas can eat up to two and a half
pounds a day. They can rest up to 22 hours each day. They are able to rest for that long because their bodies need a lot of energy to diet the gum leaves,
koalas also sleep to save energy. These koalas like to live in tall open eucalypt forest.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
More than four fifths of original koala habitat has been destroyed. Clearing of their land is also a reason why koalas are endangered. Us humans
clear it for farming, houses, shops, factories, roads, logging and mining. This result in many koalas is experiencing stress and them becoming sick
and dying. When humans turn the koalas lands apart and build houses they're most likely to own cars and pets, thats another reason for koalas to be
endangered by suffering in injuries or death by dogs and cars. Bushfires can also be a great threat to koalas. If a koalas population is living in an
area of bushland which are surrounded by development the whole colony could be whipped out by a single fire. The Koala's predators are also a
threat to them, dingoes, goannas, powerful owls, wedgetail eagles and pythons can whip out their

Humans And Climate Change : Humans Changed By Climate Change
What would the world be without its majestic and fantastic animals? There are about 8.7 million species of animals on this planet. However, because
of the decisions that humans made over the last century many species are in danger. Climate change is impacting everything on this planet from
food, resources and the conditions in which living beings live. Living creatures such as the polar bears, Adelie penguin, Koalas, Arctic foxes and the
coral reef are being affected by climate change. First of all, due to ice melting caused by the temperatures rising polar bears are being affected. Polar
bears are animals that "...spend their entire lives on the sea ice, hunting year–round, visiting land only to build maternal birthing dens," (McGrath 1).
Due to the warming temperatures "...during the summer in the Arctic Ocean, sea ice had been melting earlier and faster, and the winter freeze had been
coming later," (McGrath 2). This caused major effects on the polar bears. Scientist that had spent years observing polar bears began to notice the
change. Ian Stirling and his colleagues began to notice that:
"...although the bears' population held steady, the animals were getting thinner. The western Hudson Bay bears were missing vital weeks of peak seal
hunting, and the later winter freeze–up was extending their fast. By 1999 the biologists had correlated a steady decline in most measures of polar bear
health with a decline in sea ice. Bears didn't grow as large, and some

What Are The Similarities And Differences Between Koalas...
Frogs are a large, carnivorous group of small–bodied, tailless amphibians who on average live for 10–12 years. In contrast, koalas are arboreal
herbivores and are marsupials that are native to Australia who can live up to 18 years, old according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koala.
Although, these two animals, like many other creatures, are unfortunately endangered but for various reasons. There are countless problems facing
towards koalas and frogs and they are obviously not all the same. The troubles that the koalas and frogs face can easily be compared and contrasted.
Scientists have been looking for ways to save koalas and frogs, but they do not all work. Therefore, there are many similarities and distinctions
between the problems for frogs and koalas. As a matter of fact, there are not too many similarities between the problems for these animals.
Nonetheless, there is one major thing that has caused both of these animals to be endangered species, and that one thing is the work of humans.
Without a doubt, humans specifically play a crucial role in killing off frogs and koalas around the globe. One particular part of these animals lives that
are essential to them living is their habitat. Unfortunately, as the human population is growing at a fast rate, more and more of these habitats... Show

Short Story Of David Tree: Australian Firefighters
Good and bad deeds can usually be classified as black or white, without really thinking about it too much, but that isn't always the case. It's when
there is something that is more gray than black and white, people tend to have very strong opinions about that one thing in particular. Depending on
what it is, a person's life could be either improved or ruined. David Tree learned this lesson the hard way when he stopped to give a koala some
water while he and some other volunteer firefighters were on their way to a controlled burn. It doesn't matter the situation, there is always a good and
a bad way of looking at anything. In February 2009, Australian firefighters had been fighting a fire that had been burning for over a week, David Tree

Eucalyptus Camaldulensis (see image 6), commonly known as River red gums is one of the 800 species of the genus Eucalyptus. River red gums are
the most populous of the eucalyptus genus (see image 8) commonly found near the Murrumbidgee River and the Darling River. The species
Eucalyptus Camaldulensis has adapted well to Australia's detrimental environment consisting of periods of flooding, drought and fires. It has a range
of weapons in its arsenal that allows it to withstand the pressures of the environment such as heat. An adaptation is a feature of an organism that
enables it to be well suited to its particular environment. It has been able to survive Australia's heat via shedding of its leaves. By shedding, the River

It is the most populous of all the grasshoppers in the world. This type of grasshopper has adapted well to the environment of Australia. Locusts are
primarily grasshoppers in physiology but differ in behaviour. When locust population density is high they tend to form into swarms while
grasshoppers tend to be alone. This behavioural/psychological change is known as Phase Polyphenism. An adaptation of Austroicetes Cruciate is
colour. The colour of this organism is a mixture of green and brown which is well suited to the Euroley ecosystem as the grass there are green and
brown as a result of heat. This camouflages Austroicetes Cruciate otherwise known as the Small plague grasshopper within the plants leaves and
especially the long grasses found there thus allowing it to greatly increase its survival rate. The Antenna of the Small plague grasshopper allows it to
detect the moisture in food. This is extremely beneficial in arid environments found in Australia. They do this as a result of chemical receptors that are
found in the antenna. These chemical receptors allow it to also differentiate between sundry

would they do when culture is a barrier in assisting the child? Other than my still many questions, she was very informative, and she answered many
questions she did have a lot of experience working with kids and had many great stories. To put into action in the future as an Inclusion

Marsupials
The Koala
Among the many different marsupials in the world, there is one that stands out and is recognized, not only for its looks, but also for the hardships
that it deals with in being a koala. The koala originated in Australia, and was discovered by trappers around the time of 1798. Many rare and exotic
animals have been found in Australia, because of its remoteness and isolation from most of the civilized world. Australia has been described as a huge
ark, a giant lifeboat, cut off from contact with the rest of the world and carrying with it a group of unique creatures (Serventy 1975). The creatures that
inhabit Australia are made up of many different classifications of animal groups that have found themselves all living ... Show more content on

Once on the tree it can either jump foot by foot up until they reach safety, or slowly climb to any given point in the forest by climbing from tree to tree.
The koala is also a fantastic swimmer. Although they are very strong swimmers they seem to be somewhat clumsy moving along with almost all of its
body submerged. There are several sightings of the koala swimming in bays and along reefs in order to avoid walking on land and take the risk of
running into predators.
Mating season in the jungles of Australia is extremely noticeable, due to the call of the koala during this time. The koala's call is described as a
harsh, grating sound, like a handsaw going through a thin board (Phillips 1990). There is one story in which a man was working with a chain saw
when he looked up and saw a large koala coming toward him. The animal grabbed him by the pants and bit his leg and wrist, when it was captured
and placed in a box the animal made a very loud, growling cry (Serventy 1975). It is believed that when the koala heard the noise of the chain saw it
felt it had to defend its territory with any means necessary. When the baby koala is born it is just a little bit bigger than a human fingernail. During its
youth it spends its time in its mothers pouch, just like the ever–famous Australian animal the kangaroo. While in the pouch there are the teats of the
mother for the baby to feed on. The mother koala can continue all of her daily routine with the baby in the pouch. When the

Comparison Of Frog And Koalas
Koalas and Frogs are endangered all around the world. With this is because of deforestation for both and polluting for Frogs also hunting for
Koalas. Because of all of the causes for both animals people are trying to do amazing things but the things are way different. Some people are
making homemade habitats for frogs. And for Koalas people are going out in the forests of Australia and not studying the Koalas at the time but the
food source. But with Koalas not only people are hurting their habitat but also goats. Recently there has been a large amount of wild goats eating the
Blue Gum trees. According to Weekly Reader News, Koalas were basically shot out of Southern Australia. To compare with the Koalas, Frogs are also

From the articles Project Frog and The Koala Search both frog and koala have similarities in the text but, they also have differences. The koala and
frog are both endangered and, people are trying to save them. According to the article, it states, "The frogs are dying out because of pollution,
building, and a deadly skin fungus is wiping out frogs at an alarming rate." The koalas population dropped, after farmers were cutting down a huge
amount of trees, where the koalas live, and hunters were killing koalas for their fur. Hopefully everything turns out alright. Here are a few examples
of how they are both different, for instance, the frog's habitat is wet, green, is on the ground or in water. The frogs eat flies and other insects and

Australian Kooala's Natural Habitats
As an Australian native marsupial, the koala has been listed as endangered across majority of its natural habitats. At one point, its population had
grown to almost 10 million, but has dropped to 100,000 or less still in the wild because of human activity. Many have taken action to restore the
population of the koala. The koala's background proves that their population decline is effected mainly on humans. Numerous people refer to the
koala as a koala bear, but in reality it is a marsupial, similar to a wombat. It is found in the Australian states of Queensland, New South Wales,
Victoria, and South Australia. This nocturnal animal lives mostly in eucalyptus forests where its main food source is the leaves of the tree. Without
disturbance, the koala can live up to 15 years. While it may have no natural predators in the wild, it does have exposed skin on its face, hands, and feet
which can make it vulnerable to fires and further threaten the population. Although other factors like fires harm koalas, humans have the most impact
on the koala. The koala may not be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

cut down. People can also plant more trees to create more homes and to make food more abundant for koalas. When driving, people can be more
cautious around eucalyptus trees and watch for crossing koalas. For those who do not live in Australia can still help by donating to koala conservation
organizations. Koalas can make a comeback, but not without the help of people. Humans have caused this problem and humans can fix this problem.
The shrinking population can grow if eucalyptus tree harvesting is controlled, dogs are disciplined, and if people are mindful when driving. Without

Endangerment Of The Koalas Research Paper
I am here concerning the endangerment of the Koalas, an animal only found in four of the 8,222 islands and is only found in the country of
Australia. It is losing its habitat rapidly due to human population rising and the increase of forest fires caused by the increase in global weather
caused by coal plants. I suggest a program to help that would not only preserve the wildlife and forests of the Australian and Oceania but restore it to
its proper glory and state. The government is also a key part in this as the country's overall habitat protection is monitored by the government and a
federal organization would be helpful in restoring and maintaining the ecosystem. This could lead to this group being a federally funded program and
would help bring the koalas and other species of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The lumber industry has increased in production of furniture and collection of materials. This has ridden the Koalas of their major eucalyptus food
resource and polluted most of their water supply, contributing to malnourishment and death. The trees were also their homes due to them being
marsupials of which have a body composition to swing and hang on to limbes from a tree. Air pollution is another major impact as many were found
to have died from a health risk that hurt their lungs and triggered bronchitis like inflammations and/or cancerous risks. This has been caused by coal
and ash release within the air and the loss of trees also means less of filtration resulting more of it to be inhaled and affecting their lungs and system.
These little things are what affects most animal species not just Koalas as they inhale and it affect their health systems and the waters are also polluted
so by looking at this one animal we can not only base one problem but many resulting in greater effects that also affect us without us realizing

wallabies and tree kangaroos habitats.
Koalas have two thumbs that help them hold on to branches. Koala hands also have sharp sturdy claws to hold on to branches. They have tough,
sturdy skin that help koalas grip to trees and branches. Koala tails are very stumpy and are usually hidden. Koalas eat mainly green tree leaves, they

The Koala Essay
The Koala
Inroduction
The koala is the Australian jewel. It has very furry, ash colored hair, a rubbery black nose, sharp claws, fuzzy ears, and a grizzly personality, or should I
say, koalality. If you kill a koala, you'll make a million off their fur! They would sell the fur to coat companies and make coats out ofkoala fur.
Well, sadly enough, too many people are making millions on koalas. That's why they're endangered species.
Habitat
The koala is distributed along the eastern coastal semi–tropical forests of Australia, ranging from north Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and a
small area in the south of Australia.
Breeding

It has slowed down a lot since it was first introduced to the koala population, but the virus is still going around (chylamydia psittaci is an endangered
virus.) The koala population is also still falling due to destroyed habitats. The developers are coming into koala habitat and cutting down eucalyptus,
selling it and building homes. By the 2030's, the koalas will have no place to live. Now, sadly, in Sydney, koalas must cross the street to get to another
eucalyptus tree. They have to go to another eucalyptus tree every once and a while because that tree is the same tree from the same forest.
A lot of koalas are now becoming roadkill.
General Information
The koala is a one of a kind animal. It is the only one of its kind.
There are two sub–species of koala though, in which there is the tiniest difference. The southern one has a darker colored fur than the northern because
it is colder in the south. The koala has only one relative, the wombat. Koalas and wombats share a common ancestor from some 25 million years ago on
the landmass Lauasia (an ancient landmass that separated to make South America,
Africa, and Australia.) Most people think that the koala is related to bears, that is not true, the koala is an aboreal (tree dwelling) bear. Most people
also think that the koala is not harmful, that's wrong. The koala is more like a grizzly bear than a teddy bear. The koala is dangerous

Koala are popular because of individual appearance, so has someone ever heard people pinterest.com called koala bear is a bear? Actually, koalabears

Four employees that manage individual Koala Chicken (KC) franchises – Max, Jen, Sophie and Jack – seek advice on the possible remedies they can

that Ken pushes in attempt to reward the franchisees that significantly improve sales over a three year period. However, Ken cancelled the incentive
scheme before the full three–year term. This is where the important issues lie, and highlight that Ken would possibly be liable to pay damages to each
franchisee manager after assessment. The appearance of the offer while not in writing was made by the way of the announcement of the incentive

While there was consideration to Ken's terms, Max also showed past consideration to the pre–installation of the KC mascot. Ken's terms listed that
opening hours had to be extended, as well as installing the KC mascot, but the incentive scheme heavily relied on 'significantly improving sales each
year over a three–year period'. Due to Ken's termination of the incentive scheme, while Max was reaching projected requirements in terms of profit
which one would assume would satisfy Ken's schemes criteria, Max could appeal to the court and argue that he had partly performed the requested
act within the unilateral contract that he had accepted. It has been held that within generally that in unilateral contracts it must be accepted 'a person,
who makes an offer susceptible of acceptance of an act, may not revoke that offer after the offeree has embarked upon performance of the act' .
However, an exception is to this rule is the case of Mobil Oil Australia Ltd v Wellcome International Pty Ltd which highlights that there is no
universal rule with regard to the revocation of a unilateral contract and that it must be judged case by case basis. Within the Mobil Oil Australia Ltd v
Wellcome International Pty Ltd case, argues that offers made in return for performance of an act is, 'like any other offer revocable at any time' . This

The Ferocactus Latispinus
Assignment #2 The ferocactus latispinus, commonly known as the crow's claw cactus, is a barrel cactus originated from Mexico. The cactus is in the
phylum Tracheophyta and of the family Cactaceae, with three recognized subspecies. It resides in the states of Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, Jalisco,
QuerГ©taro, Zacatecas, Coahuila, Oaxaca, Hidalgo, San Luis PotosГ, Puebla, and Mexico State. The crow's claw grows in mountain elevations of ten
thousand feet, and blooms between the months of October and March. Goats are a great factor in dispersing viable seeds of the cactus. (IUCN) The
body of the crow's claw cactus is barrel–like, and averages approximately ten to fifteen inches in height. Fourteen to twenty–three ribs and grey–black
areoles compose the body of the cactus, along with four large central spines. The cactus blooms yellow or pink–purple flowers in late autumn or the
early winter, and are 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. (Faucon) A distinctive difference between crow's claw cactus and other plants is that cacti have stems
which function as leaves. Because cacti do not have leaves, stems contain main photosynthetic organs, areoles, and water storage tissues. In addition,
stems are coated with a cuticle, a waxy layer that prevents water loss. A possible hypothesis as to why cacti, specifically the ferocactus latispinus, have
stems rather than leaves relates to the climate in which cacti grow; environments in which cacti grow in are relatively hot and dry, with little

Summary: Saving Kooala Habitats
There is no overarching solution to the koala population issue as "successful recovery is likely to require very different recovery strategies in
different places." (Rhodes, 2014) An approach adopted in New South Wales by the Environmental Decisions Group is to map koala distributions and
the threats faced in this region and from this information develop sound strategies to overcome the threats. (Recovery plan for the koala, 2008) The
sustainability of koalas have a large impact on environmental issues, economic contribution and tourism with "koalas bringing around $1 billion of
tourism dollars into Australia each year. The koala is part of Australian culture; a symbol of the bush and our unique wildlife. Saving koala habitat helps

Comparison Of Frogs And Koala

  • 1. Comparison Of Frogs And Koala Frogs and Koala's habitat changes are very similar to each other, yet different. Both the Koala and the Frog are becoming endangered. Millions of them dying every time, even when one individual person does it. This can happen by polluting the wetlands where Frogs live. The koala's are affected by fewer, and fewer amounts of food. This is caused by goats, that eat the koala's food supplies, the Blue Gum Trees. Koala's need this to survive. The reason humans affect Koala's, is because they are either careless or they want to help, but can't. It would be simple just to take the goats out of the habitat, and move the pests somewhere else. Frogs are much different compared to Koala's. Frogs are slimy, wet, jumpy creatures that live in wetlands. There are a various amount of frogs in the world, the terrible thing is that the frogs are becoming extinct. The "Frog Search" article states that farmers sometimes pour poison in the wetlands. Such as plant poisons that can affect frogs too. Thinking that it's just going to affect the plants, it affects the frogs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 2. Will We Save Koalas Be Saved? I believe that humans will save koalas instead of frogs. We are studying them and there Blue Gum trees. We are also not hunting or cutting down anymore of their trees. From the research, we are not only saving the koalas in Australia but all over the world. Here are a few reasons why the koalas will be saved. One reason is that we are studying koalas. In Australia, where koalas are native, scientist are studying the koala and the Blue Gum trees. The are hoping to bring the koala population back to what it used to be. The article "The Koala Search" states that "The marsupial once inhabited the entire coastline. The population dropped after farmers cut down many of the forests where koalas lived and hunters killed them for their fur." Bill Ellis, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. How The Bilby Influences Its Environment? As a nocturnal forager the bilby takes refuge in burrows during the day to escape high daytime temperatures (Robinson & Morrison). The bilby has been found to be highly intolerant to heat and becomes dangerously heat stressed at temperatures over 30В°C (Robinson & Morrison 1957; Morrison 1962). This could potentially signal an issue for the bilby with climate change as while most of us have noticed an increase in daytime temperatures, there has actually been a larger increase in night–time temperatures and the bilby's current range is likely to experience some of the largest temperature increases in Australia (Hughes 2003). While the impacts of climate change on bilbies are not well understood, what is well documented is the importance of ... • 6. How To Write A Koala Essay Koala Bear Today I'm going to tell you about the koala. Koala "Bears" are not really bears. They're marsupial, or pouched animals. Koalas live in Eastern Australia, where the eucalyptus trees they love are most plentiful. They rarely leave their trees, and their sharp claws and opposable digits easily keep them aloft. Each animal gets a tremendous amount for its size, it eats about two and a half pounds of leaves a day! Koalas even store snacks of leaves in pouches in their cheeks. A special digestive system and a long gut allows koalas to break down the tough eucalyptus leaves and remain unharmed by their poison Koalas eat so many of these leaves that they take on a distinctive odor from their oil, reminiscent of cough drops. Now to talk about the birth of koalas. After a female koala gives birth she carries her... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Did you know that koalas can not be legalized as pets? That's kind of sad because they're so cute! Something very interesting is koalas have very similar fingerprints as humans. The brain size of modern koalas has reduced quite substantially from their ancestors, possibly as an adaption to the low energy they get from their diets. • 8. Koala Research Paper Animals cannot create their own food, so they must gather nutrients from other organisms such as plants and/or other animals. Nutrition is a key component to maintaining life. Animals absorb energy and digest food in different ways, depending on their specialized feeding mode and foraging style. Koalas, for example, are leaf–eating herbivores that have specialized digestive systems to control energy and digestion. Akoala is an Australian arboreal marsupial that is a folivore, leaf–eating herbivore, that feeds on Eucalyptus spp. Many animals are not able to feed on this leaf because it is a toxic food source and is low in necessary nutrients. The leaves produce a large amount of water which prevents the koala from having to drink water. Koalas have a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An adult koala can eat a range of 200 to 500 leaves a day to maintain energy. They have a very slow metabolic rate which enables them to hold in food for a long time before excretion. Their food has a very low nutrient level which yields them from gaining a lot of energy ("Australian"). The longer the food stays in the digestive tract, the more energy and nutrients are absorbed. The slow metabolic rate also takes a lot of their energy, so they sleep 18–22 hours a day to store energy. Female koalas increase food intake during peak lactation to account for nutrient demands for her young (Krockenberger, 2007, p.748). Another factor that can alter energy use includes foraging. Koalas typically stay in the same tree unless they must relocate. Because their food is low in nutrients, it does not produce a lot of energy for them. Relocating to a different area would cause them to lose a lot of energy. To make up for this energy loss, koalas must increase their food intake to maintain proper energy levels. They are exclusive browsers, meaning they feed on one specific plant and will stick to that source or browse if unable to locate it (Cork, 1983, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A. Eucalyptus leaves are very important for their survival considering that is mostly all they eat. 1. The baby koalas, called Joey's, feed off their mother's milk when first born. Once the Joey's eyes open, it starts to eat pap, which is leaves the mother has partly digested and given to its young since they cannot eat fresh leaves at this age. 2. Koalas hardly ever ... These beautiful thick fur, grey, with a little tinge of brown koalas are herbivorous marsupial that can range up to 9kg (20 lb) in weight. Their nutrient cycle is eating eucalyptus leaves, koalas don't drink that much water they get it from the leaves. Koalas can eat up to two and a half pounds a day. When humans turn the koalas lands apart and build houses they're most likely to own cars and pets, thats another reason for koalas to be endangered by suffering in injuries or death by dogs and cars. Bushfires can also be a great threat to koalas. If a koalas population is living in an area of bushland which are surrounded by development the whole colony could be whipped out by a single fire. • 12. Humans And Climate Change : Humans Changed By Climate Change What would the world be without its majestic and fantastic animals? There are about 8.7 million species of animals on this planet. However, because of the decisions that humans made over the last century many species are in danger. Climate change is impacting everything on this planet from food, resources and the conditions in which living beings live. Living creatures such as the polar bears, Adelie penguin, Koalas, Arctic foxes and the coral reef are being affected by climate change. First of all, due to ice melting caused by the temperatures rising polar bears are being affected. Polar bears are animals that "...spend their entire lives on the sea ice, hunting year–round, visiting land only to build maternal birthing dens," (McGrath 1). Due to the warming temperatures "...during the summer in the Arctic Ocean, sea ice had been melting earlier and faster, and the winter freeze had been coming later," (McGrath 2). This caused major effects on the polar bears. Scientist that had spent years observing polar bears began to notice the change. Ian Stirling and his colleagues began to notice that: "...although the bears' population held steady, the animals were getting thinner. The western Hudson Bay bears were missing vital weeks of peak seal hunting, and the later winter freeze–up was extending their fast. By 1999 the biologists had correlated a steady decline in most measures of polar bear health with a decline in sea ice. Bears didn't grow as large, and some ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In contrast, koalas are arboreal herbivores and are marsupials that are native to Australia who can live up to 18 years, old according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koala. Although, these two animals, like many other creatures, are unfortunately endangered but for various reasons. There are countless problems facing towards koalas and frogs and they are obviously not all the same. The troubles that the koalas and frogs face can easily be compared and contrasted. Scientists have been looking for ways to save koalas and frogs, but they do not all work. Therefore, there are many similarities and distinctions between the problems for frogs and koalas. One particular part of these animals lives that are essential to them living is their habitat. Unfortunately, as the human population is growing at a fast rate, more and more of these habitats... Many rare and exotic animals have been found in Australia, because of its remoteness and isolation from most of the civilized world. Australia has been described as a huge ark, a giant lifeboat, cut off from contact with the rest of the world and carrying with it a group of unique creatures (Serventy 1975). There are several sightings of the koala swimming in bays and along reefs in order to avoid walking on land and take the risk of running into predators. Mating season in the jungles of Australia is extremely noticeable, due to the call of the koala during this time. The koala's call is described as a harsh, grating sound, like a handsaw going through a thin board (Phillips 1990). There is one story in which a man was working with a chain saw when he looked up and saw a large koala coming toward him. The animal grabbed him by the pants and bit his leg and wrist, when it was captured and placed in a box the animal made a very loud, growling cry (Serventy 1975). The cactus is in the phylum Tracheophyta and of the family Cactaceae, with three recognized subspecies. It resides in the states of Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, Jalisco, QuerГ©taro, Zacatecas, Coahuila, Oaxaca, Hidalgo, San Luis PotosГ, Puebla, and Mexico State. The crow's claw grows in mountain elevations of ten thousand feet, and blooms between the months of October and March. Goats are a great factor in dispersing viable seeds of the cactus. (IUCN) The body of the crow's claw cactus is barrel–like, and averages approximately ten to fifteen inches in height. Fourteen to twenty–three ribs and grey–black areoles compose the body of the cactus, along with four large central spines. The cactus blooms yellow or pink–purple flowers in late autumn or the early winter, and are 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. (Faucon) A distinctive difference between crow's claw cactus and other plants is that cacti have stems which function as leaves. Because cacti do not have leaves, stems contain main photosynthetic organs, areoles, and water storage tissues. In addition, stems are coated with a cuticle, a waxy layer that prevents water loss.
