Mindpower Research Paper
Some experts have said that we actually only use about 10% of our minds' total potential. Imagine what would be like, then, if we could access the 90%
of mind power that currently remains dormant. We could truly have incredible results.
Whether born with extra sensory or psychic powers, scientists believe these are powers people were able to access within their own minds. Whether
they had been born with these increased mindpower abilities or they were developed throughout life.
We're not sure yet how it works, but there is ongoing research into how our own mind power can influence the world we live in.
Studies are starting to confirm that the ancient religions that had been saying for thousands of years that reality is a product of your ... Show more

Your subconscious then influences your behavior to bring about the desired result.
Now, take this one stage further and realize that whatever you want to change will, not just bad habits or heartfelt desires, but absolutely everything.
This is truly mind power.
Visualization:– Visualization is something which is very effective in increasing your mindpower. Youneed to focus your mind, eyes closed and see the
things which you want to happen in your mind. When you keep focusing on the image of what you want, your mindpower will be built up and you'll
eventually be able to make it a reality through your efforts.
You can also visualize yourself withpsychic abilities. You may visualize yourself using telepathy to communicate, to be able to see into the future, or
do remote viewing. If you use mind power, you can literally cause anything you want to happen.
Participate in hypnosis:– Hypnosis is another way you can communicate with your subconscious and therefore develop your mind's power. You can
visit a hypnotherapist or professional hypnotist, and he or she will begin your sessions by totally relaxing you and then offering your subconscious
direct messages, which you'll remember when you come out of

A Brief Note On Psychic And Paranormal Phenomena
Parapsychology is the study of psychic and paranormal phenomena, more commonly known as psi phenomena. These phenomena include
psychokinesis, precognition, and extrasensory perception. Psychokinesis is defined as the power to move objects through psychic means. Precognition
is the ability to foresee and predict the future. Extrasensory perception is the ability to sense things through the power of the mind, rather than through
the five traditional physical senses. Some people believe in the reality of psi phenomena because parapsychologists are often able to put on
convincing shows and do seemingly impossible acts. Uri Geller convinced people around the world of his parapsychological powers, as he could
perform mind–reading tricks and see ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, the subjects can easily cheat by seeing the shapes themselves or reading body language instead of blindly guessing. The study would likely
conclude that the subject is a psychic because they had abnormal results, but this is a questionable argument by elimination because there is no
evidence that the abnormal results were due to psychic powers.
Parapsychologists explain the lack of evidence by claiming that psi phenomena are a type of elusive phenomena, meaning that they do not work
properly when skeptics are present. Therefore, people who perform experiments on psi phenomena are causing the tests to be faulty. This explanation
is an ad hoc rescue because it creates a fake excuse for why psi phenomena cannot produce positive results when tested. If the psi phenomena were
actually real, scientists believe that the parapsychologists would easily be able to supply prove of their existence. Furthermore, parapsychologists find
it unfair the scientific establishment has extremely high standards of evidence for psi phenomena. However, extraordinary evidence is needed to prove
extraordinary assertions. The scientific establishment views parapsychology as a pseudoscience because while currently there is no concrete evidence of
the existence of psi phenomena, it is impossible to prove that psi phenomena are nonexistent. Additionally, because there are no repeatable paranormal
phenomena, the scientific community feels that it is unlikely that such phenomena could exist.

Analysis Of The Book ' Clairvoyance Killed The Cat '
Clairvoyance Killed The Cat All I remember from the past was the blue sky and bright yellow sun. I had never seen it of course but my
grandmother always told me stories. Stories about how everyone lived a carefree existence. About how the world was a bright and beautiful place
compared to now. Now was nothing like the past. An evil ruler took over, killed a bunch of people, and now here we all were. A dystopian future
where hatred was the only emotion and curiosity got you murdered. The saying, "Curiosity killed the cat" was always something I thought of
everyday after my grandma told me what it meant. But there 's another side to that saying. Curiosity indeed killed the cat, but satisfaction brought
it back. The sun was an orange ball of flame and the grass, instead of being a green color, was an ugly brown, but everyone was used to it. It was
the norm and only the elders knew what the world used to look like. Not us, the younger generations. We knew none of it, only words could paint
the pictures. I walked through the abandoned streets of where my grandmother grew up, trying to imagine was everything used to look like. But
thinking of happiness was hard when we were taught it wasn 't actually real. See, a long while ago when my grandmother was a newly formed adult,
an evil witch came before them. She said her name was Matoya, and no one ever thought she could cause such chaos. Though she could, and that 's
what she did. She took over the world little by little with

New Age Esotericism
The primary beliefs of the New Age and Western religion are esotericism and reincarnation. The practices are channeling, clairvoyance, astrology, tarot
card reading, crystals, pyramids, magic, and meditation.
Esotericism according to Muck refers "to the practice of keeping some teachings exclusively for the most dedicated members."(630) Meaning esoteric
imply private, secret and confidential. According to Muck, New Age and Esotericism "believeGod as transcendent and impersonal. They see the
world as evolved in stages. Truth comes as the result of spiritual striving and is only available to the worthy, those who have taken the time to
understand the nature of the cosmos and who have confronted spiritual reality directly."(632) However Muck points out, the stages comes in levels of
initiation. The teachings of the esoteric group are opened to the members who have mastered the levels. (632) The esoteric practice spiritual exercises

Relationship Between Repetition And The Belief Of...
ABSTRACT
This experiments looks at the relationship between repetition and the belief in Extrasensory Perception (ESP). People who believe in ESP are
referred to as 'sheep' and those who do not are referred to as 'goats'. This is the sheep–goat effect. The sheep are more likely to avoid giving repetitions
than the goats that have a low belief in ESP. A total of one hundred and eighty five participants took part in this study by imagining that they had a
dice that they had to roll. They had to provide the experimenter with an imaginary number between one and six which would be repeated and
recorded a total of 67 times. Once this had been completed a questionnaire was given in which they had to rate their belief in ESP on a scale of one
(strong belief) and six (strong disbelief). In order to test the hypothesis, data was collected and then analysed in order to find out the number of
repetitions that occurred. This experiment consisted of three groups of people; the sheep, the goats, and those that were indifferent. The results
obtained proved our hypothesis as the goats made a larger amount of repetitions than the sheep did.
INTRODUCTION
Extrasensory Perception is the belief in being able to perceive things from ways other than using our original 5 senses. Examples of ESP are
clairvoyance and telepathy. This experiment provides us with the relevant evidence in order for us to prove that there is a relationship between
repetition and Extrasensory Perception. This study was

Dreams and DГ©jГЎ Vu Essay
You walk into the house of a new friend. As you scope it out, you realize something a bit strange... You've been there before. But not exactly in
person. You think about it a little bit, and you then realize that it was in a dream, a dream that perfectly portrayed with every small detail the exact
room you're now standing in. Sound familiar? This is an experience that is not as rare as most people think. For many, these arbitrary feelings of
extreme familiarity, known as dГ©jГ vu, come through dreams that some say predict the future. The things that dreams show may not be something at
all significant, just a random moment proposed to happen somewhere in the near or far future. There have also been accounts where the dreamer

The idea of dreams telling the future is still hard to accept for some, but to others it is completely undeniable. Recent surveys have shown that "dГ©jГ
vu is encountered more often than any of the other so–called mystical or paranormal experiences that have been studied" (Funkhouser). Happenings
such as these have only been talked about recently not because they haven't been around for long, but because society is finally starting to accept the
idea that precognition can really exist. In a review of precognition in 1997, Barbara Brennan came to the conclusion that "it appears that there are really
far more instances of precognition than is commonly realized. So many, in fact, that the phenomenon may be almost universal. The reason we are
largely unaware of this is that most precognition occurs in dreams" (Funkhouser). It is not something that just happens to a select few, it is something
that has occurred within all age groups, races and genders for centuries. There have been plenty of almost eerie accounts of dreams suggesting the
future. One instance

The Hypothesis Being Addressed : Real Psychics Possess...
Introduction 1a. The hypothesis being addressed is that real psychics possess special clairvoyant powers, while non–psychics do not possess this kind
of ability. 1b. In the John Thomas's, it says that Joseph Rhines, a botanist at Duke University, conducted ESP experiments in the 1930s that founded
"overwhelming" evidence supporting ESP. The issue was that other psychologists had issues with replicating his results. Another experiment that was
made provided in the fact sheet was the research on random–number generators. These RNG's were being used in ESP research in order to test
clairvoyance or the psychokinetic ability of a subject. The issue with these kinds of experiments was that many resulted in chance expectation and the
random–number generator isn't ideally random, so the bias wasn't taken into account when these experiments were performed. Many of these
experiments don 't even meet the minimal criteria of scientific acceptability as only 100 were accepted after 15 years of research. Tom Harris
provided that people may claim that they have ESP in order to gain more money from people. Harris also says that so far, even through
demonstrations, ESP has not yet been proven to exist.
Method
2a(i). The participants in this experiment will be students from City College, male and female, that range from ages between 18–28. There would be
two target populations. One will be the people who call themselves psychics, and the other group will be people who do do not proclaim

Perception And Perception Of An Event And It Later Comes...
Have you ever had a vision about an event and it later comes true? Have you ever been able to read another individual's thoughts? If so, you may
possess extrasensory perception. Extrasensory perception is the "ability to obtain information about the world around you without using the normal five
senses of sight, touch, taste, hearing and smell" (Extrasensory Perception [APA], n.d.). There are many theories on extrasensory perception, including
that "all humans have some degree of extrasensory perception and that we involuntarily experience extrasensory perception on several occasions"
(Extrasensory Perception [APA], n.d.). In other words, many individuals believe that all humans have the potential for extrasensory perception, but some

Joseph Rhine was a professor at Duke University, at the time, where he conducted numerous experiments that concluded the existence of the sixth
sense, extrasensory perception. In these experiments, Rhine designed a set of twenty–five cards, later known as Zener cards, that consisted of four
different designs: a circle, wave, square, and cross. Two participants were required for this experiment, which included a transmitter and receiver. In
an experiment testing telepathy, the transmitter would look at a string of cards while the receiver would try to guess the symbols of the cards. Since
each deck of cards contained five cards of each design, each participant has a one in five chance of guessing the pattern on a card. Rhine came to the
conclusion that with "random guessing you yield five hits per deck of twenty–five" (Extrasensory Perception [APA], n.d.). Moreover, any individual
who was above the level of five hits, possessed some ability of extrasensory perception. When Rhine was testing clairvoyance, the deck of cards was
concealed, while the receiver tried to guess the design on the cards. In 1970, Charles Honorton used the Ganzfeld Technique. Honorton's experiment
required two participants, a receiver and a transmitter. The receiver is placed in a room filled with red light with white noise playing in the
background, referred to as the Ganzfeld state. The receiver has their eyes covered with halved ping–pong balls,

Argument Against ESP
1a.The hypothesis being addressees is that the validity of ESP (Extra sensory perception) Dr. Peter Venkmen wanted to prove that psychics have
clairvoyant powers and ESP should not be regarded as Pseudoscience there are both sides that go for and against Dr. Peter Venkmen argument
/claims. b. There are several extraordinary cases that occurred and cannot be explained by anything other than Esp. for example in 1898 Morgan
Robertson released his book Futility in which Robertson story chronicles the story of a large ship called the Titan, which was destroyed in dense fog
by an iceberg. The destruction of the ship caused a high number of causalities because of a shortage of lifeboats on board. The ESP community views

Populations for this experiment are psychics and non–psychics in this experiment, I will not sample the subjects/population randomly as random
sampling makes sure that all variables amongst the subjects are accounted for. By randomly sampling them in this instance is admitting that the subject
now has an ability they never had, so random sampling is not necessary because the only variables are psychics and non–psychics. ii. I will test at least
60 individuals in each group in this case the more individuals I test the more reliable data I will acquire. As for Dr. Venkmen concern on finding real
psychics I have to find people who work in magic shows, circus, carnivals, and fortune tellers in local festivals so that we call tell who has esp. and
finding non–psychics is pretty easy just get people from the streets. iii. Extraneous variables that I would test is there any cases of individuals with a
history of drug abuse and mental health problems as these variables may conflict with the experiment also I will not use random participants to groups
because random assignment and control of extraneous variables are important in experiments that test the effects of drugs and impulses. Since the
experiment is about ESP in two groups of people, different conditions between the subjects is not important as long as I screen for psychics and
non–psychics our data will be fine. 2b. The two things I will use for this test/experiment will Zener cards and a person to deal Zener cards in

Do you believe in paranormal activities (e.g. Ouija board, ghost hunting, exorcism, etc.)? Why or why not?
I pretty much don't believe, because for me everything that happens unexpectedly is just a coincidence. For example, predicting an event in the future,
it's like thinking thoroughly on the present events and saying something that can happen based on the present time and if by any chance you just said
something out of the blue I really think it's just a coincidence or some luck.
4. Share an experience which you think is considered as a paranormal activity. Explain why do you think it's paranormal?

Mind Over Science: An Exploration into the World of Psi
That our perception of the world is predominantly governed by the senses of sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell is not disputed. However, scientists
and amateur academics alike have historically disagreed about the existence of any additional senses, with the most contentious debate surrounding the
phenomenon generally referred to as ESP, or "psi." Despite the vast number of people who claim to have or to have witnessedpsychic abilities, the
corresponding research has found little that is empirically valid or significant to corroborate the wealth of more anecdotal evidence. To establish their
validity, it would be necessary to show how they occur in the sensory system – how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Various forms of communication have been identified in bats (3) and dolphins (4), for example, but have been recognized as nonexistent in humans.
This suggests that the scientific community might, in time, be able to accept the existence of the paranormal if any legitimate evidence were provided.
However, it must be recognized that the dubitable position maintained by psychic phenomena within academia has not diminished its visibility in
today's strikingly modern and generally discriminating society. That the study of psychic phenomena is so prevalent among respected members of our
society is a testament to its durability despite continued attacks by skeptics.
David Myers, a professor of Psychology at Hope College in Michigan, considers on his website three of the most common and, he suggests, reputable
varieties of what is more broadly referred to as ESP: telepathy, clairvoyance, and precognition (5). Telepathy is the communication between two or more
people via thought processes. Clairvoyance, which is what is most customarily thought of as being representative of psychic ability, is the perception of
remote events. Finally, precognition, which is also frequently thought of in conjunction with psychic phenomena, is the perception of future events.
Myers also makes note of psychokinesis, or the ability to influence

The Psychic Medium
The Psychic Medium
There are many types of psychic phenomena that exist. In this paper, I will discuss that of the psychic medium. The term psychic medium refers to a
person thought to have the ability to communicate with the spirits of the dead or with agents of another world or dimension through extra sensory
perception or paranormal powers. While a medium will always be psychic, a psychic is not always a medium. The main objective of a mediums work
is to prove survival of the human personality or spirit after death and to help the bereaved come to terms with their loss. The ability of a psychic
medium can have a life saving effect. However, due to the many fraudulent practitioners trying to scam people out of their money by offering ... Show

It all began when the Greek philosophers got into the habit of questioning nature, raising doubts about everything. Sacred forms of experience were
scorned and disparaged and eventually a certain kind of science came to dominate our thinking; the old wisdom traditions were forced to take a back
seat.
Of course, it's easy to tote up the pluses of Science, which has freed us from ignorance and superstition, cleared the way to mastering the forces of
nature, extended life and made things comfortable for the affluent in capitalist societies. On the other hand, according to the official view,
consciousness peeps out momentarily, and is destined to vanish forever after death. Science has torn down the ancient myths, and made the
implausibility of life after death an article of faith.
The effects of these phenomena have a great impact on human society. When a mother loses a child it is always a tragedy, but when there are a lot of
unanswered questions relating to his/her death, the help of a medium can lead to or bring closure to the family, enabling them to move forward. Most
people mourning the loss of a loved one are in an extremely vulnerable state, yearning for answers to questions that one can no longer answer. If we
could definitively answer these questions, the human race would be that much stronger.
Now take it one step

Examples Of Extra Sensory Perception
Have you ever felt like you knew what someone was going to say before they said it? Did your dreams ever come true? Or have you ever had a vision
of something and you have witnessed in reality? Most of us have experienced one or more of these types of events, which is called "ExtraSensory
perception".
What is ExtraSensory Perception or ESP?
ESP or Extra Sensory Perception is defined as ability of a person to receive or sense information without the aid of using their five senses – see, hear,
smell, touch and taste. According to the Journal of Parapsychology, it is defined as the response to an external event not presented to any known sense.
ESP is also referred to as a sixth sense, gut instinct or hunch.

Concentration: Try to sense and observe each and every thing thats going around you. Be aware of things happening around you. This way, your
concentration level will increase and helps to develop your ESP.
Vibrations: Keep your self in higher vibrations by thinking always positive and trying to be always happy. Do whatever you like to make you happy
without doing any harm to others. Also avoid negative talking.
Exercise: There are many exercises to do for developing ESP. For example, you can try to predict the card by removing one from a deck of cards. Try
to guess who is calling you when you hear your phone ringing, or guessing the person knocking your door, etc. There are many possible ways you can
imagine in your daily life for your practice.
Practice: Practice makes you perfect. Practice different exercises whenever you can. It is better to select one aspect of ESP – Clairvoyance or Telepathy

God Helmet Summary
Persinger's use of the experimental apparatus called the 'God Helmet' has given us some insight about paranormal phenomena such as ghost or alien
encounters. The helmet has been noted to make the user feel a "presence" in the room with them; most of these presences were said to be angels, a
deceased friend of the user, or a group of beings. This tells us that these experiences people encounter could honestly just be from shifts in magnetic
fields. Persinger would explain these experiences as interhemispheric intrusions, which means that your brain is essentially forcing you to feel or see
something. Extrasensory perception (ESP) and Persinger's findings on telepathy are tied together because telepathy is a branch of ESP. Persinger has

The Shamanism Of Seances During The Victorian Era
People who believe in spirits, for the most part, belong to one of two groups: those who delight in ghost stories but run at the first signs of a haunting
and those who want nothing more than to encounter a ghost firsthand. For the latter group, seances are likely the best way to contact the other side.
Nowadays, a seance may refer to any number of spiritual processes, from automatic writing to playing with a Ouija board, and it's part of a long
history of humans trying to speak to the dead (see Shamanism in its countless iterations). But, according to the original definition, a seance is a guided

and U.K. during the Victorian era, the practice's height. Modern spiritualism, in which seances played a major role, promoted the idea that life did not
end when someone's physical form died. Instead, it was believed that their spirits lingered around, waiting for someone with the supernatural skills
necessary to reach them.
And boy, did those skills vary. Some mediums claimed they could contact ghosts in song, while others said they needed only a glass of water to sense
any spirits present. The most common means of communication, however, was through a process called table rapping, in which the medium would
enter a quiet, trance–like state, ask any spirits present to come forward, and pose a question, and then the spirit would respond by knocking on the
underside of the table (with, for example, one knock meaning "yes" and two knocks meaning "no").
Whether or not these mediums were actually able to speak to the dead, they ended up providing a unique service to the people of the notoriously
buttoned–up Victorian society. During a seance, participants were allowed to express themselves freely– grief, shock, and fear are totally permissible
(and justifiable) reactions to believing you're speaking to a ghost, after all. Accounts of people crying out, laughing, or even weeping upon contacting a
deceased loved one weren't

Psych-Out Do Psychics Help Solve Crimes
Psychics are quite a controversial topic discussed by various police task forces, journalists, and detectives. Although the main thing they do is
connect with the spiritual world such as the deceased to help a person gain closure from a loss or predict someone's future so you could say, it has
been spoken of that they help in the crime solving process. Psychics have no factual evidence of majorly helping to solve any crime directly without
using a variety of techniques but it has been a controversial topic for quite some time. There is a multitude of different types of psychics, from ones
that have the ability to communicate with the deceased, to aiding police forces in solving crimes. According to Stephen Fraiser in the article

It is a common misconception that people with psychic abilities must be highly evolved individuals. There are no such things like everyone being
the same and we are all special individuals and all vary in a different way. Some people like to say that they have a twin somewhere in the world, but
they're never 100 percent the same. "The possession of psychic abilities does not indicate a person's level of development anymore than the
possession of great physical strength does. We all have psychic potential, but our abilities stay dormant until they are activated. Psychic abilities can be

and sub–conscious faculty that we all possess to a degree. It is the least effective type of telepathy, but it is more successful between people with
close emotional bonds, such as mother and child. It is only capable of sending and receiving vague subconscious impressions, such as sensing that

skilled mediums to give accurate and specific information about the person who has passed on. On a socially relevant front, there is a growing interest in
mediumship. This want and need to learn about the sixth sense has brought healthy skepticism and a better understanding of the life and potential of an
intuitive personality. True psychic mediums are more than the over dramatic cinema depictions they are given. They have changed the viewpoint on
handling grief, the afterlife, and the world as we know it. Through the expansive knowledge of the varying capabilities and true life stories, the ... Show

From being an alternative route to grief counseling to their help in the criminal investigation, mediums perform socially useful tasks. (Rock 77)
When it comes to criminal investigations, mediums are called in help in finding missing persons. By bringing in an individual with little
information about the case mediums are able to show their validity by giving information that was not shared prior to their connection with the
case. (Rock 76) One person who requested the help of a medium during an investigation was Lin Anders. In 2014, her daughter Mary went
missing. After cadaver dogs were brought on the property, Mary's scent was traced to a marshy pond. This suspected pond was filled with logs
and due to the costs of draining the county was unable to afford it. When Lin was asked about her experience with the medium she spoke of the
striking evidence that was brought forward. (Anders) The medium was able to sketch a composite drawing that was identical to a man that was
being held in jail and told investigators crucial information of the prospects of the case. The medium saw that Mary was standing by her father who
passed away four years prior and was able to identify that she had died and figured the altercations of her death. She saw that Mary was bound under
water and that she was not the only woman that the offender has done this to. What the medium was able to find made a theory that was plausible

Their mediumship allows them to connect with the deceased, Spirit Guides, angels, and archangels. Through the divine connection, the medium will
provide you encouraging evidence of your departed loved ones' existence in the spirit world. Once linking to the other side, they will receive messages

Since mediumship is an incredible gift, mediums must use in a loving way as well as approach with honor and respect.

Psychic Abilities
Throughout the course of history, there have been many psychic occurrences. Some people talk about having psychic powers or psychic abilities, such
as having a sixth sense. A sixth sense is a sense that is beyond the five physical senses– touching, seeing, smelling, hearing and tasting. The five senses
are so common, most people do not even notice they are using them. A sixthsense is often referred to as a metaphysical ability, so in its most essential
form, psychic power is knowing or seeing the future before it happens. Although science has proven billions of facts, and has not definitively proven its
existence, that does not mean that it is not existent. There are many different types of psychic abilities. Some abilities that have been reported in the
past are Clairaudience, Telekinesis, Mediums, and Psychic Surgeons. While science has been negating psychic abilities throughout history, there have
been several reported unexplainable events of these psychic powers.
Someone who is Clairaudient is able to hear events occurring at long distances, in the physical world, and events occurring in other dimensions. "On of
the most common mental phenomena, which already attained some prominence in the mesmeric movement of the preceding half–century, was
clairvoyance." (Randi 338.) Clairaudient people receive messages in thought form from another frequency or realm. It is considered a form of
channeling.

A Research Study On Psychics
Introduction Psychics are conducting a number of meetings with everyday people who all share the same belief in the omniscient powers of these
so–called clairvoyant creatures. Besides those visiting the psychics, there are people who study and question the actual powers that the psychic
posses. Dr. Peter Venkman was one of the people who had the desire to asses the legitimacy of extra
–sensory perception, or ESP. In one of his studies,
Dr. Venkman hypothesized that real psychics have special clairvoyant powers that non
–psychics do not possess. He uses Dr. Venkman is going to use
the Zener cards deck which contains 25 cards with 5 different shapes and with this he tries to determine psychics can tell the shape on the unseen
card on the top. Evidence both challenges and supports the hypothesis of Dr. Venkman. His hypothesis is supported in a study completed by a Duke
University botanist, Joseph Banks Rhine. Rhine used 25 Zener cards with 5 different patterns of the top face of the card and asked subjects to guess
the pattern before they could see them. He concluded that one will usually guess correctly 5 times of the 25 and those who guessed more, were
clairvoyantly able. Also in support of Dr. Venkman's theory was done by physicists Harold Puthoff and Russell Targ. They conducted experiments
where subjects claimed to see a distant place through someone else's eyes. Places were visited while the experimenter asked the subject to describe his
impressions and some subjects

Nebuchadnezzar's Telepathic Theory
For along as humans have kept a written history there have been stories about extraordinary occurrences: telepathic dreams in which the dreamer
appears to receive the thoughts of another person or clairvoyant dreams in which the dreamer seemed to be able to observe far away events. Telepathic
and clairvoyant dreams, along with precognition and psychokinesis, have been group together and called "psi" by modern–day parapsychologists. These
instances of "psi" are described as interactions that occur between organisms and their environment (this includes other organisms) in which
information or influence is exchanged that has not been able to be explained by through conventional scientific understanding of sensory–motor
coordination. They are thought to be strange or unusual since they appear to occur outside the constraints of time, space, and energy (Krippner,
Bogzaran & Carvalho, 2002. Page 93).

Since biblical times there have been stories about these extraordinary dreams. The ancient Babylonian King, Nebuchadnezzar, awoke one morning after
what experiencing what he felt was a divine dream. He was unable to remember the dream so he sent for wizards, astrologers, and diviners, demanding
that they tell him his dream and its interpretation. If they were unable to do so, he threatened to execute them all. When a prophet Daniel heard of the
problem he prayed to his God for the revelation of the king's dream. It is written that the dream came to him that night. Daniel was able to share the
dream, and its interpretation with the king and save the dream interpreters lives (Krippner, Bogzaran & Carvalho,

The Effect Of Parapsychology On The Existence Of Science
Not a lot of people can say they have had a paranormal experience. It is the kind of thing that happens once in a lifetime, and usually it is not anything
big. But those who do have these experiences pertain that belief in the supernatural, and it is these documented experiences that have brought about the
study of parapsychology. Is there something to these claims or is it due to mental illusions? Parapsychology is a highly debated branch of science
because of the existence of phenomena that cannot be explained, the main argument being in the existence of physics and whether there is something
beyond or not. s Parapsychology is the study of supernatural phenomena or more specifically, psychic phenomena. Most parapsychologists divide ...

Even the learned expressed interest in these, however, the wide acceptance of these occurrences may have been due to the insufficient education of the
general public. After the Enlightenment, which occurred in the 18th century, the existence of deities and magic was more widely contested and
doubted, leading to the discrediting of these phenomena as science. One of the first scientists to attempt a scientific study of psychic phenomena was
Franz Anton Mesmer in the 1700's; he experimented with and attempted to patent the mesmerism technique, more commonly known as hypnotism.
Even though his method did not achieve scientific recognition, shifting religious beliefs allowed for the widespread Spiritualism movement, which
allowed for the use of mediums and the like (Psychicscience.org). Modern parapsychology came about in the 1920's with the invention of statistical
tools and the efforts of a researcher by the name of J.B. Rhine. Rhine had three aims through his experiments: to provide data on parapsychological
phenomena rather than to attempt to prove their existence, to achieve scientific recognition and to prove that psychic ability was not limited to certain
people and was a part of human psyche all along just waiting to be discovered. Though he was not necessarily successful in his goals, Rhine did
change his field in that now psychic study is not limited to individuals with psychic talent, rather a

Essay about Mind Over Matter: Telekinesis
As the intellect of the human race continues to increase, different ideas are brought about while others become disregarded due to lack of belief or
interest in the subject. The latter applies in the case of psychic phenomenon. What was at one point in time a large fad that many people took part and
faith in has slowly been forgotten and set aside. The most well–known area of psychic phenomenon is telekinesis, or the ability to affect objects,
random events, and environments using only one's mind with no physical interaction ( Radford, Benjamin). While it is currently widely believed to be
an impossible feat, there have still been many tests and theories set to it attempting to prove it's potential with promising outcomes. In an ever... Show

However, none of these assumptions are correct because all forms of deception by both the test conductor and the test subject had been accounted for.
To ensure authentic test results, the testing areas were rigged with barriers, distance would be put between the two people, and the drawing of the cards
would be delayed until after the guesses had been made. In the thirty–three original studies, twenty–seven gave significant results in favor of the subject
having psychic ability. Within the next five years, these studies were independently replicated and twenty had positive results. That is a positive
outcome of sixty–one percent, which is fifty–six percent higher than what the outcome would have been if it had been nothing more than chance (The
Parapsychological Association). So while it can be said that the order of the cards was not affected by the test subject, it is obvious that there was some
form of psychological interaction allowing the individuals to achieve minute precognition. It is this documentation that led to larger theories and
research in the specific area of telekinesis. J.B. Rhine is not the only person to have made ground–breaking discoveries towards the discovery of
psychological influences.The Princeton

How to Identify a Precognitive Dream
Future prediction, whether through a precognitive dream or a psychic reading, rarely give a play by play of how an event will exactly unfold; which
had made some of my past clients very angry when I used to work the psychic lines. One female caller wanted to know if she was going to get a lot of
money from her soon to be ex–husband. My Angels answer was, "You will be taken care of financially." She became furious when she ask the

Frist Dream
I dreamed that I was with my man, C., and his male friend/co–worker at an interesting store. In our waking life, we have gone out on double dates with
C's co–worker and wife. I was having a good time and didn't want to leave.
In the second scene we are with a bunch of his co–workers in a place that looks like a department store, I felt uncomfortable around these people
because I didn't know them. C. goes off with a bunch of people from work up the elevator, leaving me with two of his male office mate that I wasn't
crazy about. I said, "Where's C. going?" One of the men told me not to worry about it, yet I felt really upset that he wasn't with me and left me stuck
here.
The dream had a precognitive vibe to it, yet I was puzzled to its meaning. I got a text from C. letting me know we had two opportunities to go out
this Saturday and if I was interested. The first was from our friend who wanted to go to antique stores, but his wife had to work. The second was to
see the movie "John Wick" plus go out to eat with a bunch of people from his job. I laughed as I thought that's what the dream meant; I replied yes to the

sensation seeking behavior. With the limited studies that have be carried out, results have been revealed indicating that those with an external locus of
control are more likely to have a greater overall paranormal belief (Scheidt, 1973). Those with an external locus believe that the outcome of situations
in their lives are not within their own control, but rather a result of fate or a result of luck. Whereas those with an internal locus believe the opposite

What Is Parapsychology?
The Merriam–Webster dictionary defines parapsychology as follows: a field of study concerned with the investigation of evidence for paranormal
psychological phenomena (such as telepathy, clairvoyance, and psychokinesis) (Merriam–Webster 2016). It has long been debated whether or not
parapsychology should be accepted as a true science. With the lack of true scientific evidence for the existence of psi, or paranormal phenomena, the
overwhelming ability to disprove claims and evidence made about the existence of psi, and the extreme experimenter bias that permeates and skews
the interpretation of data, it is the right course of action to leave parapsychology in the realm of pseudoscience.

reasons for asking them to perform certain tasks, and will therefore consciously or unconsciously amend their behaviour accordingly, thus producing
potentially robust experimental artifacts unconnected to the variables the experiment was designed to study. (p.

About Parapsychology Parapsychology can also be referred to as psychical research. The definition of parapsychology is the scientific study of
paranormal phenomena and experiences. A paranormal phenomenon is a claim that a real anomalous effect is occurring. There may or may not be a
real anomalous effect, but the individual has interpreted their experience as a paranormal one defines what a paranormal experience is. Unfortunately
the importance of parapsychology has not been widely recognized. A popular reason on why parapsychology has been ignored is that it gives

Second, is the receiver or percipient, the individual will relax and describe the images that come to mind. Lastly, there is the experimenter the
experimenter supervises and conducts the experiment. The world that we live in today is a very distracting, noisy environment both externally and
internally. Extrasensory perception information may be a weak signal. Noise reduction techniques are used to help the receiver detect the weak signal.
Telepathy
Telepathy is defined as a transmission of thought independently of the recognized channels of sense. It is often also refers to mind reading. It is the
ability to communicate with another person without the use of the sense. When telepathy occurs the transmitter is often unaware that he acts as an
agent. The receivers do not consciously prepare themselves for the reception. The use of strong emotions are influenced and brought into play by a
well–developed mode of supernormal perception. In order for telepathy to exist, the receiver or percipient must learn without the use of his sense what
the sender, or agent, is thinking about. This is implied that there is no special activity on the part of the agent. The thoughts become known whether
they wish it or not and without making any effect at communication. Some of the first experiments on telepathy, a receiver or percipient had to guess

Designing On Esp Study Zener Cards
Designing on ESP Study Zener cards The purpose of this essay is to create an experiment that test whether or not psychics have clairvoyant power.
1a. Dr. Venkman believes that psychics are the only one who has this special clairvoyant power that no regular person has. 1b. In his article How ESP
Works, Tom Harris reveals that no one are ability to prove that extra– sensory perception (ESP), exist. For example, Harris uses the scenario of a man
who wrote a book about a sunken ship, which had the same description as the Titanic. The book was published before the Titanic was built. He was
rewarded as a psychic, however this scenario limits the scientific method because it occurs in an uncontrolled environment. In order to effectively
demonstrate some good evidences, scientists need to conduct an experiment that has a closely controlled condition. In John Thomas' facts sheet, he
mentions that the evidences cited for ESP are usually anecdotal. He states these anecdotal claimed that scientific tests at respected research institutions
have conclusively demonstrated that ESP exists. For example, as pointed out by Thomas, the SRI remote– viewed experiments claimed that subjects
could see places through the eyes of others. However, psychologies are unable to repeat the result of this experiment.

About Spiritual Mediums
You may be a candidate for readings with spiritual mediums if you've experienced unusual events such as:

Such strange occurrences could indicate a friend or loved one is reaching out to you with a message from the other side. Your best option is to seek
spiritual mediums who can help you decipher the messages.

Not only are they blessed with psychic gifts, only mediums can connect with deceased individuals.
By now, you may be curious to know how psychic mediums work. Some communicate through power of mind to obtain information from spirits via
their highly–developed inner–senses. This is called mental mediumship.
Another method is called direct voice. These mediums speak to spirits with their normal voice, rather than their minds. It is more difficult to connect
and dialogue with those on the other side through the physical senses, because spirits tend to be detached.
Then there is trance mediumship where mediums enter an unconscious state. His physical body becomes an empty receptacle for entities to fill. Our
recommendation to first timers is – DON'T GO THERE!
Not only is the medium putting himself at risk of possession by harmful entities, it can be a frightening experience for you.
SГ©ances can be conducted by mediums for a group of clients who want to establish contact with their departed loved ones. SГ©ance was derived

The Pros And Cons Of Cybervoyants
It is no big shocker that over the years the subject of clairvoyant powers has been a target of theory, mystery, fear, and even superstition. Those who
cannot understand a thing tend to fear a thing, and it is no surprise because clairvoyants have an uncanny gift to see beyond, into places that most other
people cannot. This is why it is a source of such controversy and even jealousy at times.
Clairvoyance refers to the ability to see events, people or objects which are otherwise not visible through the ordinary five senses of man. Clairvoyants
thus have a second sight, another vision which lets them see beyond the physical universe. This second sight facilitates visualizing events of the present,
future as well as past, commonly known as retrocognition. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Everyone has the ability at birth to become clairvoyant, but they must be willing to develop the powers they possess.
If you are ready to tap into your source of power and develop your clairvoyant abilities you need to clear your psyche. The best way to accomplish this
is with meditation.
This helps in getting rid of the negative energies that haunt you. When those negative energies are out of the way you should have no trouble seeing
everything with crystal clarity.
Using normal meditation, you'll gain the ability to feel as well as sense the strength within, and grasp your real potential. If you learn to mediate and
get rid of that stress you will see yourself being much happier, as well as a lot more creative.
Your meditation sessions should occur every day for at least 30 minutes at a time. It is important to choose a quiet place that has no distractions. Also,
take care to choose a place that is free from negative energy. Some who are learning to open up to their potential may choose to meditate outside,
allowing nature and the universe to help them release those negative

Intricacies Of Precognition
Intricacies of Precognition Divine precognition is a phase of clairvoyance that brings knowledge of future events without relying on any physical
senses. While clairvoyance is an awareness of past or future events that happen at a distance, precognition is knowing about events that will take
place soon. For instance, you may be shown forthcoming events while you are in a dreaming state, during meditation or via flashes of clarity. The
Bible is rich with examples of precognition. For example, the Wise Men were forewarned in a (precognitive) dream, not to return to Herod, but to take
a different route home after finding the Christ child. History is rife with astounding examples of precognition: reportedly some surviving passengers,
who were aboard the Titanic, experienced 'unusual dreams' of impending disaster, which included many deaths by... Show more content on

Frequently, the dream includes clear visions of the near future event, such as Lincoln "seeing' his own corpse. Premonition is similar to precognition,
except premonition is a feeling that something dreadful might occur at some unknown time in the future. Precognition is a knowing that something
will happen. Also, precognition usually comes when we are in the dream state and premonitions can take place anytime, day or night. Both involve
heightened emotions and/or feelings, such as anxiety, fear or as feelings of doom and gloom that keep nagging at your consciousness. Let's explore
precognitive dreams. Of course, not all dreams are precognitive, but if you should have one, it will deliver a warning. There is a slim chance to

Nabi And Rbi Case Study

  • 1. Nabi And Rbi Case Study NAB; So you believe, that from what you saw and heard on the FBI vid, Finicum committed SBC. {Have you or do you work for some secret arm of the Federal Sight, Sound and Clairvoyance Department?} He was acting aggressively. How? The FBI agents most likely told him to get out of the truck. Which he did. Then told him to move away from the truck and put his hands in the air. Again he complied. While standing in the snowbank, they told him to turn around with his hand in the air. This is standard police practice, for you want to see all sides of him. {Here is were your uncanny hearing ability must come into play.} You say he was acting aggressively, moving in a circle. • 2. Mindpower Research Paper Some experts have said that we actually only use about 10% of our minds' total potential. Imagine what would be like, then, if we could access the 90% of mind power that currently remains dormant. We could truly have incredible results. Whether born with extra sensory or psychic powers, scientists believe these are powers people were able to access within their own minds. Whether they had been born with these increased mindpower abilities or they were developed throughout life. We're not sure yet how it works, but there is ongoing research into how our own mind power can influence the world we live in. Studies are starting to confirm that the ancient religions that had been saying for thousands of years that reality is a product of your ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Youneed to focus your mind, eyes closed and see the things which you want to happen in your mind. When you keep focusing on the image of what you want, your mindpower will be built up and you'll eventually be able to make it a reality through your efforts. You can also visualize yourself withpsychic abilities. You may visualize yourself using telepathy to communicate, to be able to see into the future, or do remote viewing. If you use mind power, you can literally cause anything you want to happen. Participate in hypnosis:– Hypnosis is another way you can communicate with your subconscious and therefore develop your mind's power. You can visit a hypnotherapist or professional hypnotist, and he or she will begin your sessions by totally relaxing you and then offering your subconscious direct messages, which you'll remember when you come out of

  • 4. A Brief Note On Psychic And Paranormal Phenomena Parapsychology is the study of psychic and paranormal phenomena, more commonly known as psi phenomena. These phenomena include psychokinesis, precognition, and extrasensory perception. Psychokinesis is defined as the power to move objects through psychic means. Precognition is the ability to foresee and predict the future. Extrasensory perception is the ability to sense things through the power of the mind, rather than through the five traditional physical senses. Some people believe in the reality of psi phenomena because parapsychologists are often able to put on convincing shows and do seemingly impossible acts. Uri Geller convinced people around the world of his parapsychological powers, as he could perform mind–reading tricks and see ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus, the subjects can easily cheat by seeing the shapes themselves or reading body language instead of blindly guessing. The study would likely conclude that the subject is a psychic because they had abnormal results, but this is a questionable argument by elimination because there is no evidence that the abnormal results were due to psychic powers. Parapsychologists explain the lack of evidence by claiming that psi phenomena are a type of elusive phenomena, meaning that they do not work properly when skeptics are present. Therefore, people who perform experiments on psi phenomena are causing the tests to be faulty. This explanation is an ad hoc rescue because it creates a fake excuse for why psi phenomena cannot produce positive results when tested. If the psi phenomena were actually real, scientists believe that the parapsychologists would easily be able to supply prove of their existence. Furthermore, parapsychologists find it unfair the scientific establishment has extremely high standards of evidence for psi phenomena. However, extraordinary evidence is needed to prove extraordinary assertions. The scientific establishment views parapsychology as a pseudoscience because while currently there is no concrete evidence of the existence of psi phenomena, it is impossible to prove that psi phenomena are nonexistent. Additionally, because there are no repeatable paranormal phenomena, the scientific community feels that it is unlikely that such phenomena could exist. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Analysis Of The Book ' Clairvoyance Killed The Cat ' Clairvoyance Killed The Cat All I remember from the past was the blue sky and bright yellow sun. I had never seen it of course but my grandmother always told me stories. Stories about how everyone lived a carefree existence. About how the world was a bright and beautiful place compared to now. Now was nothing like the past. An evil ruler took over, killed a bunch of people, and now here we all were. A dystopian future where hatred was the only emotion and curiosity got you murdered. The saying, "Curiosity killed the cat" was always something I thought of everyday after my grandma told me what it meant. But there 's another side to that saying. Curiosity indeed killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back. The sun was an orange ball of flame and the grass, instead of being a green color, was an ugly brown, but everyone was used to it. It was the norm and only the elders knew what the world used to look like. Not us, the younger generations. We knew none of it, only words could paint the pictures. I walked through the abandoned streets of where my grandmother grew up, trying to imagine was everything used to look like. But thinking of happiness was hard when we were taught it wasn 't actually real. See, a long while ago when my grandmother was a newly formed adult, an evil witch came before them. She said her name was Matoya, and no one ever thought she could cause such chaos. Though she could, and that 's what she did. She took over the world little by little with ... • 6. New Age Esotericism The primary beliefs of the New Age and Western religion are esotericism and reincarnation. The practices are channeling, clairvoyance, astrology, tarot card reading, crystals, pyramids, magic, and meditation. Esotericism according to Muck refers "to the practice of keeping some teachings exclusively for the most dedicated members."(630) Meaning esoteric imply private, secret and confidential. According to Muck, New Age and Esotericism "believeGod as transcendent and impersonal. They see the world as evolved in stages. Truth comes as the result of spiritual striving and is only available to the worthy, those who have taken the time to understand the nature of the cosmos and who have confronted spiritual reality directly."(632) However Muck points out, the stages comes in levels of initiation. The teachings of the esoteric group are opened to the members who have mastered the levels. (632) The esoteric practice spiritual exercises in a school–like setting. Esotericism suggests that enlightenment is attained by pursuing spiritual disciplines."(632) Moreover, Muck says," Christians respond to God through prayer, devotion and worship services." • 7. Relationship Between Repetition And The Belief Of... ABSTRACT This experiments looks at the relationship between repetition and the belief in Extrasensory Perception (ESP). People who believe in ESP are referred to as 'sheep' and those who do not are referred to as 'goats'. This is the sheep–goat effect. The sheep are more likely to avoid giving repetitions than the goats that have a low belief in ESP. A total of one hundred and eighty five participants took part in this study by imagining that they had a dice that they had to roll. They had to provide the experimenter with an imaginary number between one and six which would be repeated and recorded a total of 67 times. Once this had been completed a questionnaire was given in which they had to rate their belief in ESP on a scale of one (strong belief) and six (strong disbelief). In order to test the hypothesis, data was collected and then analysed in order to find out the number of repetitions that occurred. This experiment consisted of three groups of people; the sheep, the goats, and those that were indifferent. The results obtained proved our hypothesis as the goats made a larger amount of repetitions than the sheep did. INTRODUCTION Extrasensory Perception is the belief in being able to perceive things from ways other than using our original 5 senses. Examples of ESP are clairvoyance and telepathy. This experiment provides us with the relevant evidence in order for us to prove that there is a relationship between repetition and Extrasensory Perception. This study was ... • 8. Dreams and DГ©jГЎ Vu Essay You walk into the house of a new friend. As you scope it out, you realize something a bit strange... You've been there before. But not exactly in person. You think about it a little bit, and you then realize that it was in a dream, a dream that perfectly portrayed with every small detail the exact room you're now standing in. Sound familiar? This is an experience that is not as rare as most people think. For many, these arbitrary feelings of extreme familiarity, known as dГ©jГ vu, come through dreams that some say predict the future. The things that dreams show may not be something at all significant, just a random moment proposed to happen somewhere in the near or far future. There have also been accounts where the dreamer claims they saw a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Funkhouser) The idea of dreams telling the future is still hard to accept for some, but to others it is completely undeniable. Recent surveys have shown that "dГ©jГ vu is encountered more often than any of the other so–called mystical or paranormal experiences that have been studied" (Funkhouser). Happenings such as these have only been talked about recently not because they haven't been around for long, but because society is finally starting to accept the idea that precognition can really exist. In a review of precognition in 1997, Barbara Brennan came to the conclusion that "it appears that there are really far more instances of precognition than is commonly realized. So many, in fact, that the phenomenon may be almost universal. The reason we are largely unaware of this is that most precognition occurs in dreams" (Funkhouser). It is not something that just happens to a select few, it is something that has occurred within all age groups, races and genders for centuries. There have been plenty of almost eerie accounts of dreams suggesting the future. One instance ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Hypothesis Being Addressed : Real Psychics Possess... Introduction 1a. The hypothesis being addressed is that real psychics possess special clairvoyant powers, while non–psychics do not possess this kind of ability. 1b. In the John Thomas's, it says that Joseph Rhines, a botanist at Duke University, conducted ESP experiments in the 1930s that founded "overwhelming" evidence supporting ESP. The issue was that other psychologists had issues with replicating his results. Another experiment that was made provided in the fact sheet was the research on random–number generators. These RNG's were being used in ESP research in order to test clairvoyance or the psychokinetic ability of a subject. The issue with these kinds of experiments was that many resulted in chance expectation and the random–number generator isn't ideally random, so the bias wasn't taken into account when these experiments were performed. Many of these experiments don 't even meet the minimal criteria of scientific acceptability as only 100 were accepted after 15 years of research. Tom Harris provided that people may claim that they have ESP in order to gain more money from people. Harris also says that so far, even through demonstrations, ESP has not yet been proven to exist. Method 2a(i). The participants in this experiment will be students from City College, male and female, that range from ages between 18–28. There would be two target populations. One will be the people who call themselves psychics, and the other group will be people who do do not proclaim ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Perception And Perception Of An Event And It Later Comes... Have you ever had a vision about an event and it later comes true? Have you ever been able to read another individual's thoughts? If so, you may possess extrasensory perception. Extrasensory perception is the "ability to obtain information about the world around you without using the normal five senses of sight, touch, taste, hearing and smell" (Extrasensory Perception [APA], n.d.). There are many theories on extrasensory perception, including that "all humans have some degree of extrasensory perception and that we involuntarily experience extrasensory perception on several occasions" (Extrasensory Perception [APA], n.d.). In other words, many individuals believe that all humans have the potential for extrasensory perception, but some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Joseph Rhine was a professor at Duke University, at the time, where he conducted numerous experiments that concluded the existence of the sixth sense, extrasensory perception. In these experiments, Rhine designed a set of twenty–five cards, later known as Zener cards, that consisted of four different designs: a circle, wave, square, and cross. Two participants were required for this experiment, which included a transmitter and receiver. In an experiment testing telepathy, the transmitter would look at a string of cards while the receiver would try to guess the symbols of the cards. Since each deck of cards contained five cards of each design, each participant has a one in five chance of guessing the pattern on a card. Rhine came to the conclusion that with "random guessing you yield five hits per deck of twenty–five" (Extrasensory Perception [APA], n.d.). Moreover, any individual who was above the level of five hits, possessed some ability of extrasensory perception. When Rhine was testing clairvoyance, the deck of cards was concealed, while the receiver tried to guess the design on the cards. In 1970, Charles Honorton used the Ganzfeld Technique. Honorton's experiment required two participants, a receiver and a transmitter. The receiver is placed in a room filled with red light with white noise playing in the background, referred to as the Ganzfeld state. • 11. Argument Against ESP 1a.The hypothesis being addressees is that the validity of ESP (Extra sensory perception) Dr. Peter Venkmen wanted to prove that psychics have clairvoyant powers and ESP should not be regarded as Pseudoscience there are both sides that go for and against Dr. Peter Venkmen argument /claims. b. There are several extraordinary cases that occurred and cannot be explained by anything other than Esp. for example in 1898 Morgan Robertson released his book Futility in which Robertson story chronicles the story of a large ship called the Titan, which was destroyed in dense fog by an iceberg. The destruction of the ship caused a high number of causalities because of a shortage of lifeboats on board. The ESP community views Robertson's story as clairvoyant... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Populations for this experiment are psychics and non–psychics in this experiment, I will not sample the subjects/population randomly as random sampling makes sure that all variables amongst the subjects are accounted for. By randomly sampling them in this instance is admitting that the subject now has an ability they never had, so random sampling is not necessary because the only variables are psychics and non–psychics. ii. I will test at least 60 individuals in each group in this case the more individuals I test the more reliable data I will acquire. As for Dr. Venkmen concern on finding real psychics I have to find people who work in magic shows, circus, carnivals, and fortune tellers in local festivals so that we call tell who has esp. and finding non–psychics is pretty easy just get people from the streets. iii. Extraneous variables that I would test is there any cases of individuals with a history of drug abuse and mental health problems as these variables may conflict with the experiment also I will not use random participants to groups because random assignment and control of extraneous variables are important in experiments that test the effects of drugs and impulses. Since the experiment is about ESP in two groups of people, different conditions between the subjects is not important as long as I screen for psychics and non–psychics our data will be fine. 2b. Mind Over Science: An Exploration into the World of Psi That our perception of the world is predominantly governed by the senses of sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell is not disputed. However, scientists and amateur academics alike have historically disagreed about the existence of any additional senses, with the most contentious debate surrounding the phenomenon generally referred to as ESP, or "psi." Despite the vast number of people who claim to have or to have witnessedpsychic abilities, the corresponding research has found little that is empirically valid or significant to corroborate the wealth of more anecdotal evidence. This suggests that the scientific community might, in time, be able to accept the existence of the paranormal if any legitimate evidence were provided. However, it must be recognized that the dubitable position maintained by psychic phenomena within academia has not diminished its visibility in today's strikingly modern and generally discriminating society. That the study of psychic phenomena is so prevalent among respected members of our society is a testament to its durability despite continued attacks by skeptics. David Myers, a professor of Psychology at Hope College in Michigan, considers on his website three of the most common and, he suggests, reputable varieties of what is more broadly referred to as ESP: telepathy, clairvoyance, and precognition (5). Telepathy is the communication between two or more people via thought processes. Clairvoyance, which is what is most customarily thought of as being representative of psychic ability, is the perception of remote events. The term psychic medium refers to a person thought to have the ability to communicate with the spirits of the dead or with agents of another world or dimension through extra sensory perception or paranormal powers. While a medium will always be psychic, a psychic is not always a medium. The main objective of a mediums work is to prove survival of the human personality or spirit after death and to help the bereaved come to terms with their loss. The Shamanism Of Seances During The Victorian Era People who believe in spirits, for the most part, belong to one of two groups: those who delight in ghost stories but run at the first signs of a haunting and those who want nothing more than to encounter a ghost firsthand. For the latter group, seances are likely the best way to contact the other side. Nowadays, a seance may refer to any number of spiritual processes, from automatic writing to playing with a Ouija board, and it's part of a long history of humans trying to speak to the dead (see Shamanism in its countless iterations). Modern spiritualism, in which seances played a major role, promoted the idea that life did not end when someone's physical form died. Instead, it was believed that their spirits lingered around, waiting for someone with the supernatural skills necessary to reach them. And boy, did those skills vary. Some mediums claimed they could contact ghosts in song, while others said they needed only a glass of water to sense any spirits present. The most common means of communication, however, was through a process called table rapping, in which the medium would enter a quiet, trance–like state, ask any spirits present to come forward, and pose a question, and then the spirit would respond by knocking on the underside of the table (with, for example, one knock meaning "yes" and two knocks meaning "no"). Whether or not these mediums were actually able to speak to the dead, they ended up providing a unique service to the people of the notoriously buttoned–up Victorian society. A Research Study On Psychics Introduction Psychics are conducting a number of meetings with everyday people who all share the same belief in the omniscient powers of these so–called clairvoyant creatures. Besides those visiting the psychics, there are people who study and question the actual powers that the psychic posses. Dr. Peter Venkman was one of the people who had the desire to asses the legitimacy of extra –sensory perception, or ESP. In one of his studies, Dr. Venkman hypothesized that real psychics have special clairvoyant powers that non –psychics do not possess. He uses Dr. Venkman is going to use the Zener cards deck which contains 25 cards with 5 different shapes and with this he tries to determine psychics can tell the shape on the unseen card on the top. Evidence both challenges and supports the hypothesis of Dr. Venkman. His hypothesis is supported in a study completed by a Duke University botanist, Joseph Banks Rhine. Rhine used 25 Zener cards with 5 different patterns of the top face of the card and asked subjects to guess the pattern before they could see them. He concluded that one will usually guess correctly 5 times of the 25 and those who guessed more, were clairvoyantly able. One of the first scientists to attempt a scientific study of psychic phenomena was Franz Anton Mesmer in the 1700's; he experimented with and attempted to patent the mesmerism technique, more commonly known as hypnotism. Even though his method did not achieve scientific recognition, shifting religious beliefs allowed for the widespread Spiritualism movement, which allowed for the use of mediums and the like (Psychicscience.org). The most well–known area of psychic phenomenon is telekinesis, or the ability to affect objects, random events, and environments using only one's mind with no physical interaction ( Radford, Benjamin). In the thirty–three original studies, twenty–seven gave significant results in favor of the subject having psychic ability. Within the next five years, these studies were independently replicated and twenty had positive results. That is a positive outcome of sixty–one percent, which is fifty–six percent higher than what the outcome would have been if it had been nothing more than chance (The Parapsychological Association). So while it can be said that the order of the cards was not affected by the test subject, it is obvious that there was some form of psychological interaction allowing the individuals to achieve minute precognition. The primary colors have set meanings, but a combination color such as a reddish brown would take on qualities of both colors. And how clear and bright the color is, is very important to the interpretation, because a bright color means something very different than a dull color. As you learn about the colors you will also learn about where on the body the color is. Each chakra in the body is associated with a certain color so don't be surprised to find that color near that chakra. Colors around one area can mean one thing and around a different area mean something completely different. When we look at a person's aura we are looking at their true self, everything that is left after you take away all the habits, mannerisms, the people they pretend to be, and their frivolous, trivial behavior. Their aura shows who they truly are not the facade they show everyone in public. In general, the more balanced the aura, the healthier and more stabilized the person is. When taking in the whole aura you also may notice holes in some places. This can mean an injury or sickness, in some cases that the person isn't even aware of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. What Is Parapsychology? The Merriam–Webster dictionary defines parapsychology as follows: a field of study concerned with the investigation of evidence for paranormal psychological phenomena (such as telepathy, clairvoyance, and psychokinesis) (Merriam–Webster 2016). It has long been debated whether or not parapsychology should be accepted as a true science. With the lack of true scientific evidence for the existence of psi, or paranormal phenomena, the overwhelming ability to disprove claims and evidence made about the existence of psi, and the extreme experimenter bias that permeates and skews the interpretation of data, it is the right course of action to leave parapsychology in the realm of pseudoscience. The concept illuminates the ways in which the research participant may try to infer the experimenter's reasons for asking them to perform certain tasks, and will therefore consciously or unconsciously amend their behaviour accordingly, thus producing potentially robust experimental artifacts unconnected to the variables the experiment was designed to study. As it was phrased last night it had a certain truth: We want to be Americans, full –fledged Americans, with all the rights of other American citizens. But is that all? Do we want simply to be Americans? Once in a while through all of us there flashes some clairvoyance, some clear idea, of what America really is. The definition of parapsychology is the scientific study of paranormal phenomena and experiences. A paranormal phenomenon is a claim that a real anomalous effect is occurring. There may or may not be a real anomalous effect, but the individual has interpreted their experience as a paranormal one defines what a paranormal experience is. Unfortunately the importance of parapsychology has not been widely recognized. A popular reason on why parapsychology has been ignored is that it gives pseudo–scientific support to religion. Many scientists and philosophers have ignored and treated it the subject with contempt. Another reason that parapsychology has been so ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Second, is the receiver or percipient, the individual will relax and describe the images that come to mind. Lastly, there is the experimenter the experimenter supervises and conducts the experiment. The world that we live in today is a very distracting, noisy environment both externally and internally. Extrasensory perception information may be a weak signal. Noise reduction techniques are used to help the receiver detect the weak signal. Telepathy Telepathy is defined as a transmission of thought independently of the recognized channels of sense. It is often also refers to mind reading. It is the ability to communicate with another person without the use of the sense. When telepathy occurs the transmitter is often unaware that he acts as an agent. The receivers do not consciously prepare themselves for the reception. The use of strong emotions are influenced and brought into play by a well–developed mode of supernormal perception. In order for telepathy to exist, the receiver or percipient must learn without the use of his sense what the sender, or agent, is thinking about. This is implied that there is no special activity on the part of the agent. The thoughts become known whether they wish it or not and without making any effect at communication. Some of the first experiments on telepathy, a receiver or percipient had to guess the identity of a target being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Designing On Esp Study Zener Cards Designing on ESP Study Zener cards The purpose of this essay is to create an experiment that test whether or not psychics have clairvoyant power. 1a. Dr. Venkman believes that psychics are the only one who has this special clairvoyant power that no regular person has. 1b. In his article How ESP Works, Tom Harris reveals that no one are ability to prove that extra– sensory perception (ESP), exist. For example, Harris uses the scenario of a man who wrote a book about a sunken ship, which had the same description as the Titanic. The book was published before the Titanic was built. He was rewarded as a psychic, however this scenario limits the scientific method because it occurs in an uncontrolled environment. In order to effectively demonstrate some good evidences, scientists need to conduct an experiment that has a closely controlled condition. In John Thomas' facts sheet, he mentions that the evidences cited for ESP are usually anecdotal. He states these anecdotal claimed that scientific tests at respected research institutions have conclusively demonstrated that ESP exists. For example, as pointed out by Thomas, the SRI remote– viewed experiments claimed that subjects could see places through the eyes of others. However, psychologies are unable to repeat the result of this experiment. Methods Participants 2a (I) This research aims to prevent any bias data by controlling the environment of the experiment. • 38. Spiritual Medium Research Paper About Spiritual Mediums You may be a candidate for readings with spiritual mediums if you've experienced unusual events such as: A feather floats from the sky and lands at your feet. No birds are in sight. Or, you feel a whoosh of cold air, followed by the sensation that someone is kissing your cheek. You are home alone. Such strange occurrences could indicate a friend or loved one is reaching out to you with a message from the other side. Your best option is to seek spiritual mediums who can help you decipher the messages. Mediums are psychic, but their specialty is connecting with spirits on the other side. A psychic, on the other hand, is not necessarily a medium. Usually, mediums do not use metaphysical tools, like crystal balls or cards, to link with spirits. When... Some communicate through power of mind to obtain information from spirits via their highly–developed inner–senses. This is called mental mediumship. Another method is called direct voice. These mediums speak to spirits with their normal voice, rather than their minds. It is more difficult to connect and dialogue with those on the other side through the physical senses, because spirits tend to be detached. Then there is trance mediumship where mediums enter an unconscious state. His physical body becomes an empty receptacle for entities to fill. Our recommendation to first timers is – DON'T GO THERE! Not only is the medium putting himself at risk of possession by harmful entities, it can be a frightening experience for you. • 39. The Pros And Cons Of Cybervoyants It is no big shocker that over the years the subject of clairvoyant powers has been a target of theory, mystery, fear, and even superstition. Those who cannot understand a thing tend to fear a thing, and it is no surprise because clairvoyants have an uncanny gift to see beyond, into places that most other people cannot. This is why it is a source of such controversy and even jealousy at times. Clairvoyance refers to the ability to see events, people or objects which are otherwise not visible through the ordinary five senses of man. Clairvoyants thus have a second sight, another vision which lets them see beyond the physical universe. This second sight facilitates visualizing events of the present, future as well as past, commonly known as retrocognition. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Everyone has the ability at birth to become clairvoyant, but they must be willing to develop the powers they possess. If you are ready to tap into your source of power and develop your clairvoyant abilities you need to clear your psyche. The best way to accomplish this is with meditation. This helps in getting rid of the negative energies that haunt you. When those negative energies are out of the way you should have no trouble seeing everything with crystal clarity. Using normal meditation, you'll gain the ability to feel as well as sense the strength within, and grasp your real potential. If you learn to mediate and get rid of that stress you will see yourself being much happier, as well as a lot more creative. Your meditation sessions should occur every day for at least 30 minutes at a time. It is important to choose a quiet place that has no distractions. Also, take care to choose a place that is free from negative energy. Some who are learning to open up to their potential may choose to meditate outside, allowing nature and the universe to help them release those negative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Intricacies Of Precognition Intricacies of Precognition Divine precognition is a phase of clairvoyance that brings knowledge of future events without relying on any physical senses. While clairvoyance is an awareness of past or future events that happen at a distance, precognition is knowing about events that will take place soon. For instance, you may be shown forthcoming events while you are in a dreaming state, during meditation or via flashes of clarity. The Bible is rich with examples of precognition. For example, the Wise Men were forewarned in a (precognitive) dream, not to return to Herod, but to take a different route home after finding the Christ child. History is rife with astounding examples of precognition: reportedly some surviving passengers, who were aboard the Titanic, experienced 'unusual dreams' of impending disaster, which included many deaths by... Premonition is similar to precognition, except premonition is a feeling that something dreadful might occur at some unknown time in the future. Precognition is a knowing that something will happen. Also, precognition usually comes when we are in the dream state and premonitions can take place anytime, day or night. Both involve heightened emotions and/or feelings, such as anxiety, fear or as feelings of doom and gloom that keep nagging at your consciousness. Let's explore precognitive dreams. Of course, not all dreams are precognitive, but if you should have one, it will deliver a warning. There is a slim chance to change the outcome. Precognitive dreams are often symbolic and may not be understood until the event happens. But, there are literal precognitive dreams where the dreamer can see what is about to happen in vivid detail as if they were participating in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
