2. 1. AGE?

from 16 years old to 63 years old. The responses
received from such a diverse age range allowed us to
analyse who is the most suitable target audience for
the documentary on our chosen topic.
3. 2. WHAT TIME OF DAY ARE YOU MOST LIKELY TO WATCH TV?
This pie chart clearly shows that the majority of people
watch television in the evening, with over half of the
respondents saying this is when they’re most likely to tune
in. However, those that said they watch TV at this time
were all under the age of 25, whereas the older
generation who will make up our target audience said they
watch TV earlier. Therefore, we will consider airing our
documentary in the late afternoon as at this time our
target audience is likely to be home from work watching
TV.
4. 3. WHAT CHANNEL DO YOU TUNE IN TO THE MOST?
These responses show that BBC was the most popular channel among those that took
our questionnaire, with channel 4 coming in second. Therefore, we will consider airing
our show on one of these channels as evidently they are well known and will help attract
many viewers.

FROM?

Unsure Most people we asked
bought their cutlery from
Ikea so we may consider
including this department
store within our
documentary as clearly
this is a place people
have visited and are
familiar with and so may
want to find out more
about the shop.
6. 5. WHERE WAS YOUR CUTLERY MADE?
Sweden China Italy Unsure
One of the most popular answers to
this question was ‘unsure’

cutlery is made around the world as
most people don’t seem to know
much about this.

people said they don’t buy new

cutlery is so long lasting and what
allows us to preserve it for a long
period of time.
10. 9. WHEN HAVING DINNER, DO YOU LAY THE TABLE?
50% 50%

OCCASIONS?

CUTLERY/EATING UTENSILS?

can to make our product seem interesting and
worthwhile and to draw in viewers.
22. 21. WOULD YOU WATCH A DOCUMENTARY ABOUT CUTLERY?

that is within our target age range said yes
implying that the programme will receive
viewers, but they will be of an older

THE BASIC KNIFE, FORK AND SPOON?

know much about the history of cutlery
demonstrating how the vast majority of people
do not know anything about this topic.
Therefore, we will include in our documentary
about the origins of cutlery as clearly it is
something that is not well known and perhaps a
point of interest.
26. 25. DO YOU KNOW MUCH ABOUT THE USE OF CUTLERY IN
OTHER CULTURES?
Yes No
Likewise, only a small number of
people responded yes to this
question suggesting it may be useful
to explore the use of cutlery in other

own.
