Another one of punk rock's pioneers was the animated Iggy Pop. Iggy began his musical career, or
let me say, his career took off after leaving the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. Iggy formed a band

My College Experience
Growing up, I never saw myself as one of those people who graduate high school and then off to a
four–year college they went. It was hard enough just to imagine attempting, let alone succeeding, at
a two–year college. Even though, I had wondered what it might have been like to experience dorm
life at a college in another town, even state. But, for me, after high school graduation, I was enrolled
at the Community College.
It didn't take long for me to realize College life probably wouldn't continue. Maybe it was the
classes I was enrolled in, maybe it was knowing I needed to find a job, or maybe it was just the
excuses I used. Soon the college road, reached a sign that read, 'Dead End Approaching. Detour
Ahead. Proceed with Caution'. And with that, college became a distant memory in my rear view
mirror.
It was during the early part of 2014 that I decided to walk my talk. For years, I told my son he was
going to college; he was going to finish and I would make sure he got to. But how could I say
anything about college, if I couldn't back it up? By returning to college, I was going to get a degree,
proving to myself, I can accomplish and finish something. Hoping my son would see that I wasn't

Gatsby films that were made to interpret the book written by F. Scott Fitzgerald. There are many
movies however only the 1974 and the 2013 film will be evaluated. The 1974 film was directed by

Although both movies made the setting similar, the 2013 version did a slightly better job in
representing the novel in that the house was plenty filled with books. Between the East Egg and
West Egg, the East Egg is the proper land of those belonging to old money while West Egg is the

The Great Gatsby Reimagined For Today's Society
The Great Gatsby (1925), the first novel written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, takes place during
prohibition. As depicted in the novel, jazz and alcohol made the culture in the early 20th century
feel alive. The novel communicates how the culture was in New York City and why the main
character Jay Gatsby held parties so he could see his beloved debutante, Daisy Buchanan. But more
importantly, the audience becomes more connected to the film entirely through the music. These
films contained leitmotifs and themes that communicate the human emotions and thoughts behind
each character. In my opinion, The Great Gatsby remains an extremely successful film because of its

1974 World Boxing Championship fight between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman. The fight

the day – James Brown, and BB King – I found particularly effective in portraying the importance
of a culture returning to it's origins. The energy created by performers such as James Brown can do

remind us of Ali's daunting task. Gast has been able to provide tempo and excitement to a lot of his
black and white / archival footage and engages us by launching in to exciting music straight after
the slower, almost monotonous – compared with the rest of the film – recounts of historical witness'

music of "my brothers" or "black man's music" and what better music to

1914 he wrote his first composition, ''Soda Fountain Rag'', he created by ear because he still didn't
know how to read and write music. His generations were orchestral jazz, swing, and big band. The
instrument he played was the piano. He started on 1914 and ended at 1974.
Ellington melded some of the his group members and they were one of the best players in jazz. He
gained a national profile through his
Orchestra appearances at the cotton club. Ellington recorded songs written by his bandsmen. His

Ellington made the decision to leave Washington D.C he moved to
Harlem and he became one of the figures of the Harlem Renaissance.
He made eight records in 1924. Ellington had to increase from a six to eleven piece group to meet
