2. INTRODUCTION
Now a days there is a necessity for large amounts of
energy and the sources to produce these energies are
decreasing day by day.
Solar is the way people are looking to these days.
India is a highly populated country , so we should
take the advantage of such an energy which requires
a very less space to produce energy efficiently.
3. What is Solar Energy?
Solar energy refers to energy
from the sun.
It is the most important
source of energy for life forms.
The main benefit of solar
energy is that it does not
produce any pollutants and is
one of the cleanest source of
energy.
It is a renewable source of
energy.
5. How much
solar energy?
The surface
receives about 47%
of the total solar
energy that reaches
the Earth. Only
this amount is
usable.
6. 3 WAYS TO CONVERT SOLAR TO
ELECTRICAL ENERGY
1. Solar Photo-Voltaic Cell(PV-cell):-Use solar PV-Cell to
generate electricity by formation of electron-hole pairs.
2. Solar Thermal Energy:-Use solar energy in the form of heat
to generate steam and run steam turbines.
3. Use solar energy to get fuels for energy generation:-Use solar
energy to split water into hydrogen and oxygen and use them
as fuel in H2-O2 fuel cell.
9. WHAT IS A SOLAR TREE ?
A solar tree is a decorative means of producing solar energy and also
electricity.
It uses multiple no of solar panels which forms the shape of a tree.
TREE stands for
T= TREE GENERATING
R=RENEWABLE
E=ENERGY and
E=ELECTRICITY
Solar tree: This is a tree in which the stems connected acts as the
branches of the tree and the solar panels are like the leaves
10. COMPONENTS OF SOLAR TREE
Solar panels
Long tower
Batteries
Stems for connecting
the panels
11. SPIRALLING PHYLLOTAXY
It is the unique technique used so as to make sure that
every cell gets equal amount of solar energy.
This has been mainly implemented so as to increase the
efficiency of the plant.
12. WHY SOLAR TREES??
Due to less land requirement
Efficient energy generation
It can collect energy from wind
Why Should
we think
about it??
13. APPLICATIONS OF SOLAR TREE
Street light.
House supply.
Industrial power supply.
Continuous power supply.
Charging slots for cars.
Wireless Data transmission.
14. ADVANTAGES AND
DISADVANTAGES
ADVANTAGES:-
No air pollution
We wouldn’t have to worry as much about future energy sources.
People in poor country would have access to electricity.
People can save money.
Land requirement is very less.
DISADVANTAGES:-
Cost is high.
May cause hazards to the birds and insects.
Hazards to eyesight from solar reflectors.
15. Final Thought
Goal is to decrease our dependence on fossil fuels
so use alternate methods.
Currently, 75% of our electrical power is generated
by coal-burning and nuclear power plants.
Mitigates the effects of acid rain, carbon dioxide,
and other impacts of burning coal and counters
risks associated with nuclear energy.
Pollution free, indefinitely sustainable.
