O Brate Scholarship Essay
Growing up in a family of two siblings and a single father, I learned to make my life less challenging by working hard with discipline.
People always say life is unfair, but I don't have an excused to stop trying harder to have a better life. Since I was little, I have been

Personal Narrative: Pistachio Cozmo
It was early in the spring of '18, me and my boyfriend, we decided that we wanted to settle down. I grew up in a small town, I prefer not
to name them for the sake of the people in the town as of the town doesn't want to 'be attacked' by 'terrorists', but that's beside the point.
My boyfriend had the peculiar name of Pistachio Cozmo, he grew up in the city but after he graduated he moved to my town the town

I woke up early the next morning to go and run a few errands, before I left i noticed that the tragedy, wasn't so much a tragedy anymore,
more like an appalling place. I also notice Katelyn was still there. I left to go to a couple of place to come home to, you may have
guessed it, Pistachio screaming because the brat was trying to pull his hair out.
"Stop, stop, enough, you need to settle down' I declared, "Stop pulling his hair, settle down, will kindly tell me whats going on and what
do you want"
"I want to leave" Pistachio groaned
"I would like to do the same, I just don't want to go home" Katelyn announced
I told Katelyn that she couldn't, not just yet.
We needed to finish our plan, and fast. Late that night after Katelyn passed out on the couch we finished our plan. We wrote a letter

Every cheerleader knows the struggle; having to balance practices, workouts, school, performances, and your personal life. This is
nearly impractical without having to make sacrifices. When these sacrifices are made, they can either break you or benefit you. I
personally, had to make a decision that would leave my team heartbroken–but I knew that in the end, it was a choice that had to be
made. Taking a stand for my happiness, and true passion, changed my perspective on life.
Sitting in the bleachers and watching the cheerleaders lift everyone's spirit up and seeing them perform, made me long to do school
cheer. I thought that it was going to be fun, enjoyable and an amazing opportunity. It was a dream that I wanted to be able to
experience. I talked to my mom and grandma about doing it. I told them that it was something that I would be proud to claim. They
agreed that I should try something new, for a change. I than made the decision to follow my heart and do both school and All–Star
cheer, knowing that this would be a huge responsibility to take on. Being the type of person that likes to try new things and likes to
experience life, I strong–mindly decided to try out for the team. I knew that it would be difficult to balance both teams, but I strive to
accomplish things that I set out to do. Once the tryouts were over, I was excited for the season to start.
After practices started, I remembered how much I loved going to practices. It was amusing to be able to do something

The Story Of My Life
"At some point, you have to realize that some people can stay in your heart, but not in your life," Sandi Lynn. The fear of losing a loved
one is one of the worst things in life, and no matter how hard you try to get over it or how hard you fight against it, when the time
comes, you are never going to be ready. I realized that when my grandfather died; too young to understand what death was, but old
enough to experience the pain. Not only he died, also part of me did. "I will always be by your side, my little princess," were the words
that came to my mind as I walk down to where we would meet. I smiled, as I remembered how much fun we always had" May 2009,
Friday evening, I went out to the best pizza place in town, La Roca, to wait for my grandfather, who lived in another city and would
come to visit me. As soon as I arrived I sat down in front of a big window, so that way we could appreciate the beautifulness of Mother
Nature, something we both loved. For hours and hours, I waited patiently, and while waiting for him I remembered all the moments we
shared together, all the places we went, and all the things he taught me, for example, to be strong. Since it was a while since we las met,
I had so many things to tell him; I had earned two certificates of recognition and appreciation, and I also got all A's on my report card. I
just wanted him to enter through the door so I could run into him with a big hug, but sadly he never showed up. His tardiness was

College Admissions Essay: Going To College
Many people, since I was little, pressured me into going to college. My parents didn't mind what I decided, all that mattered is what
makes me happy. They would support me no matter what my heart decided to do. Over the years family members tried to persuade me
into believing that without a college degree you'll never become successful. To them, college had to be a part of my future which I think
is the main reason I decided that college would be for me. Ever since I was told that I started to disagree and pushed myself to realize
that I wanted to prove them wrong. I can do anything I want and accomplish any goals I have as long as I set my mind to it. College
isn't the only way to become successful, working can get you places you never thought possible.
College `wasn't always an option of mines. I've never really had an interest in pursuing a college dream. For most students college is
their life. It's the only thing they look forward to after they graduate. But I only look forward to starting a life in the work field and
making money to support myself. For me. Working ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It's more of a hobby. I can absolutely see myself working this type of job in the near future. The love I have for animals and the
outdoors are unbelievable, especially if I get paid while I'm doing this as well. I don't know exactly when or where I am going to find
the right job for this career but all I know is that I have to start somewhere. Even if it's somewhere over here or maybe off the island,
either one I'd be happy to do. Working out in the mainland could be a great experience for me as well. I get to see all the different ways
that the ranches up there take care of their animals or even how they have things running on the ranch. Sometimes is good to get out of
your comfort zone and try new things. Who knows, you might just actually end up loving

Makenzie-Personal Narrative
"Hannah? Hannah! You have a new package in the mail!" Makenzie runs into my house, as she stumbles over my dogs, who are
barking at her. "What do you mean my mail? And why were you looking in my mailbox," I say humorously. Makenzie jumps over the
couch, kicking my phone out of my hand, "We are going to Los Angeles!" A few weeks before, Makenzie and I entered a contest to win
a free trip to a Justin Bieber concert, in Los Angeles. I open the package, and the first word I read was 'Congratulations!' I screamed as I
ran to my closet to get my suitcase. Makenzie started to throw random clothes in my bag, and I quickly stopped her. "Why are you
taking all the clothes out," Makenzie said confused. "Don't you remember who filled out the information with us?" Makenzie's face
dropped as she answered my question. "I told you not to bring Agustin and Jacob to the mall with us, now we have to spend hours on a
plane with them, hearing them talk non–stop," Makenzie confirmed. "I'm sorry, Makenzie, but they are our friends," I say supportively.

a smirk. "Ok Mr. Hollywood, not everyone gets to travel around the world whenever they want," Agustin backfired. Makenzie soon

Original Writing Of Hawaii, Hawaii
I was 12 when we first moved into our house in Hawaii. It was a huge change in our lifestyle. We had come from Canada where we
were used to cold weather and short summers. But Hawaii was the opposite of this. Everything was going great for a while. I really
liked my school, the people, and the beaches that would take your breath away. Most of all I love my house. It was gorgeous! As you
walked up to it, there was a big blue door that matched the colour of my eyes. With tall ceilings, a giant kitchen, and luxurious
bathrooms, the house was like a dream come true. The house even came with beautiful grey couches. It was very complex, almost like a
mansion! The kitchen and the living were together in a giant area with the dining room to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

After hearing that I was pretty freaked out. So I decided to start telling the kids at school some scary stories. If everyone thinks my
house is haunted, then I should prove to them it is. Even though it really isn 't, some attention seemed like it would be nice!
That night I came up with a story that I thought was pretty good. So when I got to school I was eager to tell them. Once lunch finally
came around, my plan was ready. As I walked into the cafeteria for the first time, it actually smelt good! In Canada it never smelt like
this. I was used to the gross hotdogs and burnt macaroni. Knowing I wasn't going to be eating horrible food, sounded pleasing. The only
reason I hadn't eaten in here yet was because my friends never did, and I was to shy to eat without them. When I got to the lunch table
all my friends greeted me.
"Guess what?" I asked with a smirk on my face.
"What?" They all replied.
"Boy do I sure have a story to tell you guys!" As soon as I had said this, they all became more concentrated on me.
"Last night, while I was laying in bed trying to fall asleep, I saw something out of the corner of my eye. I knew I was alone, so why
would I see anything move in there? So I look over and..." I paused, trying to make them scared.
"Someone, was standing in my closet!"
They all gasped in fear.
"What was it?"Ally, my best friend, insisted as she rolled her eyes in disbelief. "I don't know. So I ran out of bed and turned on the light,

My phone rang unexpectedly.
" oh that is mom" i thought. "What is she calling for " i was trying to figure it out. I picked up the phone and hearing a warming voice
from my lovely lady:
"you still wanna go to US"
It took me 2 seconds of silence. I was surprised of that question from my mom cause i thought it was an old story that i 'd never talked
about. " of course mom" i said
" i got an old friend currently living in Washington state. She said she could help you out with the beginning in US. do you want to go
to US studying? I could handle this" Going to US to study has never ever been a good idea because of many reasons. No relationships,
tuitions are way too expensive or different culture... all of that combines could blow off your desire. Going to study abroad to me and
those kids in my country is gambling. To be afford the tuition and housing fees and other stuff, you lose the amount of money which is
equal to a house or even 2. Who knows what you are going to get from the excellent education. Will that help you pay off for what you
has given away. All of that had stucked in my head when thinking about how to make my dream come true.
" are you being for real mom" " you are telling me that i'm going to US to study?" i almost couldn't say it correctly " i meant in case
when i pass the interview for visa ?"
And as you could guess, 4 months later, in the middle of July, i made it. That was a typical day of July. The sunshine of the humid

Personal Narrative: My Hamlet
My Hamlet If you could have the luxury of both family and privacy would you take it? My dream house, or shall I say, would be just
that. I've dreamt about where and how I wanted to live when I was younger for years. My dream place to live would have to be a
remote family village, that has the many conveniences of being close to work and family, where everyone has their own separate
sections, yet we a still isolated from the world. To start, my dream home would consist of multiple houses to make a family village. My
family relies on each other, and being in different counties or even states makes it a lot harder to assist each other. We all have different
size families, as well. Therefore living in a circuit of mansions would be a wise way to accommodate everyone. These mansions would
be separated from the outer world by a 100–yard deep forest. There would be either a heated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Most everyone enjoys a little alone time at many points during their life and with this home setup it will be way easier to achieve. In
each mansion, the owners could have as many rooms as he or she wanted. Personally a couple of rooms I'd make sure to have in my
house would be separate "me" rooms. These would be customized to each person's personal serenity. Of course there would be a couple
of master keys to make sure that no one got locked into a room. Theses rooms would be for when you need privacy to prevent anyone
from running away or leaving the neighborhood angry or upset. One of the main aspects of the village is privacy without distance. I
have thought of this topic for years. I have concluded that a family hamlet would be where I lived, with the conveniences of living near
family and work, and the overall privacy of the establishment. To make this dream come true would take a lot more research, yet, none–
the–less, would be stupefyingly incredible. This would, for sure, be a place I'd to

The Response To Success In The Glass Castle, By Jeannette...
Many people react differently based on the way they have been brought up or taught. In the Glass Castle by Jeannette Wall, it has been
portrayed to the readers that the response to a problem can either have a positive effect on a community and or a negative effect on the
community. In the book, The Glass Castle Jeannette Walls was seen as live a nonrestrictive life ever since she was three. Jeannette
makes a statement that you can still be successful in life even if you had been raised in an irregular family. Through the eyes of
Jeannette Walls, it can be said that a person's drive and passion can achieve that point of success.
Coming to the first point most kids from the start of their life have been taught that you will only achieve success if you work hard. This
advice had been portrayed in the book The Glass Castle. Ever since the beginning of the book Jeanette go through different obstacles
and also many different types of struggles. Although this had come in the way to achieve the final product she fought through it and did
not let her drive towards success fade. For example, in the book, Jeannette says" No one expected you to amount to much... You never
had much going for you except that you always worked hard "(270). Jeannette's mom is seen questioning the gifts that her own kid has
and is even hesitant to acknowledge that her little girl has turned out to be successful by her own hard work and self–independence.
Throughout the book, Rose Mary always thought that

Analysis Of Mama In A Raisin In The Sun
In the play A Raisin in the Sun Mama has the role of being a mother figure for all of the characters. She is a very outgoing women who
loves her family. Overall, Mama wants her family to succeed in life. In addition, when it comes to momentous family decisions she
does what she believes is best for everyone. However, other members of family sometimes have contradicting beliefs, which makes
them feel like their house is matriarchal. I believe that their house is Matriarchal, but Mama's decisiveness is for the best of everyone. In
conclusion, Mama is not a tyrant because she makes decisions for the best of her family, the money belongs to her, and she wants to see
her dream come true.
All of Mama's conclusions are made because she has hope that it will help her family in the future. When she orders people to do things
her reasoning is love. When Travis doesn't do his household chores. Mama will do it, but not because she wants him to be spoiled, but
for him experience a nice life. Adding to that, she does not want Travis to learn how to work at a young age because then he will never
be able undergo that great life. With him not being able to have a nice live might result and his dreams getting crushed. Mama once said
to Ruth "what you fix for his breakfast"(Act1 sc2). Ruth then became very defensive and made sure Mama knew she feeds Travis. In
this Ruth is interpreting Mama's intentions the wrong way. Mama is just checking in, so she knows that not only Travis is getting

A Double Life Essay
In Howards End we see the outer and inner worlds – the prose and the passion, disconnected, but still existing within the same space.
Although the material Wilcoxs' and cerebral Schlegels seemingly come from different worlds, their alignment is ultimately a matter of
personal connection. Yet, just about sixty years prior in Karolina Pavlova's A Double Life we see the same two worlds existing in
separate spaces entirely – prose in the waking life, poetry within Cecily's dreams. One explanation for this is that of Konstantin
Askakov, in his introduction to Pavlova's novella. For him, the prose represents the "outer," frivolous emptiness of everyday high
society; the poetry, the voice of Cecily's "soul." Cecily's dreams then represent an inner ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Suddenly his previous characterization no longer stands; suddenly it is clear he was described as an outcast because he has access to
this higher meaning in a way his audience might not. It's worth again making explicit that the previously established form of the novella
breaks down here. Not only does poetry briefly inhabit the waking life, but so too does the higher meaning it has come to represent. But
what's important here is not only that the narrative structure is broken here, but who breaks it: the male poet. One explanation for this is
a matter of difference in class. That is, the poet has access precisely because he did not grow up under the circumstances of high
society, while Cecily's social status renders her incapable of having depth. Yet, the version of Cecily we see in her dreams does not
support this reading; even in the presence of poetry she retains her social identity, and is even warned of her "swaddled" (51)
upbringing. Rather, the relevant distinguishing feature between Cecily and the poet is that he is a man. While male poets may be seen as
lower class or even unrespectable, women who pursue poetry are seen as "pitiable," and as having a "dangerous illness" (60). In short:
poetry is not an option, and thus not even a consideration for women. There is perhaps something to be said that the women are shown

A Raisin In The Sun Analysis
In the Southside of Chicago in the 1950's, the Youngers are a typical poverty stricken family that works hard to be able to rise out of
poverty. Each family member has a different dream of being able to reach this goal. Mama has the dream of owning her own house,
Walter wants to be able to open a liquor store, Beneatha wants to go to school to become a doctor, and Ruth wants to move out of their
current apartment. In the play A Raisin in the Sun, Lorraine Hansberry shows the effect of a deferred dream in Walter Lee's character.

Walter is now in a bad spot with his life and Mama sees that. Mama seeing that her own son is being destroyed because his dream has
been deferred makes a large decision. Mama realizes that it is time for Walter Lee to become the head of the house. By giving Walter
the remaining sixty–five hundred dollars of the insurance check she shows that she trusts Walter. By doing this it makes Walter the head
of the Younger's house along with resurging his dream. Walter's attitude towards every character is changed. He sits his son Travis
down and asks '"...what kind of man you going to be when you grow up[?]"'(495) Travis responded with wanting to be a bus driver, but
Walter being happy tells Travis to aim higher.
Walter does not keep his hopes up for his dream long though they are again crushed. The money Mama gives Walter he gives to Willy
Harris. Willy runs away with the money and Walter is back to the way he was the first two times his dream is deferred. Walter makes
the decision to call Carl Lindner. Walter is going to sell the house Mama just payed for because he feels like money is what will make
his dream come true. Walter talks a big game but, when Mr. Lindner shows up to the apartment Walter is unable to sell the house due to
his son being present. Walter finally realizes that his dream may not come true this very moment but, by selling the house it would take
away from the rest of the family's dreams.

Essay about Death of a Salesman
Death of a Salesman In the play Death of a Salesman, appearance vs. reality is one of the major themes throughout the story. Biff says it
himself, "I'm tired of living in a dream." Willy represents appearance. His perspective on life was clouded by his need for the
"American Dream". Biff represents reality. Biff saw things for what they truly were and didn't lie to himself or others. This shows that
Willy and Biff are opposite characters who each represent the theme of appearance vs. reality in the play.

Biff was away from home.
He wanted to get away from his fathers non–sense.
In the end Willy just can't bare reality and Biff can't bare all of the lies.
Willy was never able to accept the fact that he made mistakes. He couldn't admit to that he was wrong and try and make things rite.
Willy just ignored the problems and pretended like things were ok. Biff is tired of his fathers deceit but he had been holding back
because of his mother Linda and brother Happy. Finally Biff opens up and tells his father what he had been wanting to say for a long

Personal Narrative Essay : A Dream Come True
A Dream Come True
"Emma!" I woke up to my mom calling to me.
"Yes," I answered as I climbed out of my very messy, unmade bed and made small efforts to clean it up.
"C'mon, we have to go!" my mom told me.
"What? Where?" I asked, and then I remembered that today was the day we were going to Grandma's house for the summer. Duh,
Emma, I told myself, looking at my suitcase lying on the floor ready to go.
"To your grandma's house!" my mom hollered. I heard her coming up the stairs to collect me and my things.
"Okay, okay. I'm coming," I said when she had gotten to the doorway to my bedroom.
"Meet you in the car." My mom smiled and then turned to head back downstairs.
"Grandma!" I called to my grandma, who was out in the garden watering her flowers.
"Yes, Emma!" my grandma replied.
I ran up and embraced her, absorbing her lavender–smelling hair through my nose. "How was the trip?" my grandma asked as we
walked over to the car to get my mom and my baby sister, Abby.
"Mom!" My mom smiled as she hugged my grandma. "Its so good to see you!"
"Its wonderful to see you guys too," Grandma smiled, gesturing to Abby and me. "I'll go put on the kettle for some tea," Grandma
suggested.
We made our way up the steps into my grandma's cozy house. It was a beautiful house with dark wood tables and chairs. A curving
staircase led to the bedrooms and the bathroom was placed in the corner.
"What are we going to have for Emma's birthday tomorrow?" Abby babbled to my mom.

A Raisin In The Sun
Rolling in the Dust
"Oh– so now it's life. Money is life. Once upon a time freedom used to be life– now it's money. I guess the world really do change..."
(74).
This quote reveals the economic struggles within the Younger family in the play A Raisin in the Sun. Throughout the play, Mama's
views are at odds with Walter's views. For Walter, who feels enslaved in his job and life, money is the truest freedom. To him, money
seems to be the answer to everything. Money, he believes, allows people to live comfortable and carefree lives. It also seems to him that
money defines a man by measuring his success and ability to provide for his

Walter's ultimate dream was to invest money in the liquor store and become rich. Beneatha, on the other hand, had something different
in mind. Her dream was to become a doctor.
Everyone knew that becoming a doctor would require hard work and lots of money. Walter, who wanted to spend the money on the
investment, was outraged at the fact that Beneatha wanted to become a doctor. "Have we figured out yet just exactly how much medical
school is going to cost?" (36). "Who the hell told you that you had to be a doctor? If you so crazy 'bout messing 'round with sick
people– then go be a nurse like other women– or just get married and be quiet" (38). Walter knew that to become a doctor, a lot of

Beneatha that not many women were successful in becoming doctors. It would just end up wasting money so the best thing to do would
be marry a rich guy or become a nurse. After the insurance money from
Beneatha's father was gone, her dreams were really crushed. Her brother Walter had lost all the money in the initial investment of the

My Experience In My Life
"Home isn't a place, it's a feeling," said Cecelia Ahern. In my lifetime, I've yet to understand this. All my life has been in different
places. My dad is an engineer at an Indian company called Infosys. It requires a lot of hard work, effort, and most of all, traveling. I've
been to eight different cities and ten different schools. But, who's counting?
Moving has gotten so confusing over the past few years. It has gotten me a little off track. However, I'm ahead of my game. When I was
in third grade, I lived in two states, Connecticut and New Jersey. When I made the big move to New Jersey, my Dad decided to move to
India a couple months later. When I went to India, I still had to go to school. Since the schools are different there than in the U.S., I had
to take a test to decide my placement in what grade I would be put into. I ended up going into fourth grade instead of going into the
third grade for the second time. It was thrilling, but little did I know that it would have drastic consequences. To add to that, I was born
in December of 2004 and missed the cut–off date by a long shot.
As I moved, I gained a lot of experience with places. When I lived in Switzerland, (Yes, I lived in Europe once,) I learned that I should
always wrap myself with as much protection as I can to protect myself from the cold weather. It was very hard living there since they
spoke French and German and we spoke English, Tamil, and Telugu. When I went to kindergarten there, I picked up a little German. Of
course, I don't remember any of it now, but it's still something I'm proud of.
Even though it was hard moving to other places and leaving things behind, there was a fun component somewhere in the experience.
There were always some fun moments that I remember. This one time when I went to India for summer break, I visited a friend I used
to hang out with when I used to live there. She always got me into trouble, and I would complain, but I secretly loved it. We rode our
bikes in the rain, jumped over fences and sat on the rooftops of our apartments telling stories to each other until we got tired. When I
was gone, she had made other friends and so, she introduced me to them. This one girl had twelve cats and two dogs, I

Power Of Education In I Am Malala
Education is the most powerful force in the world. It has given people everything they have today. Education brings people together,
and shows how people can work together for one common goal of succeeding or accomplishing something. Education can bring
advancements to new technology and ancient history. Learning and listening is something that should be free to anyone, but it is not.
People like Malala Yousafzai and Martin Ganda had to fight for their education, which brought them many opportunities, and much
success. These two young adults show how education can change someone's life and how people need education to be successful in life.
The novels, I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai with Patricia McCormick and I Will Always Write Back by Caitlin Alifirenka and Martin
Ganda with Liz Welch, both hold a strong significance of the power of education, which will help many people realize its significance.
The book, I Am Malala, gave a powerful message about activism, family, women's rights, but most importantly, the power of education.
Malala Yousafzai had a very strong belief in education and would not stop at anything to guarantee that every child was able to go to
school. Malala grew up believing that education was the key to success, but not everyone else believed that. Malala lived in a society
where women were not treated as equals, and soon appeared laws prohibiting women's right to attend school. Malala was extremely
determined to continue her education, she even snuck to school, hid her books and abandoned her school uniform so she would not be
noticed. Malala becomes vocal about education and gives her opinion in interviews for many news stations. Many people in her country
feared to express their opinions, however, Malala wanted to be the change. Malala expressed her belief that "If people were silent,
nothing would change." (Yousafzai 140). Although Malala knew that it was dangerous to speak against the Taliban, she suggests her
opinions in interviews to draw international attention to her cause. Malala dreamed of getting an education so she could become a
politician and help her country. But when she was 10, the Taliban took control of her town, making it a law that girls were banned from

A Short Story : The Story Of Callidus
The sound of thunder quickly woke Callidus from out of the deep dream–like state he was in. With the lights off and nothing
illuminating the small room but a sliver of frosty moonlight, he had to let his eyes get adjusted to the darkness all around and soon
realized he wasn't in his own bed. He wasn't even in his own room.
There was a small lamp stand beside his bed on the right which was not present. "Is this even my house?", he asked himself and
proceeded to lean forward in which both arms brushed against something warm and breathing. Tensing up, he slowly looked down in
anticipation of some type of animal. When finally looking all the way down he heaved a huge sigh of relief. Girls, a multitude of them
surrounded him. All in different positions but all naked.
The truth to last night hit him like a train, and it all came at once. He had had a twenty–some. This was a dream come true and he
whispered a soft," Yes." and pumped his fists through the air. This had to be a fantasy and Callidus pinched himself just to be sure.
"Yep, not a dream", he declared somewhat too loudly and a few girls murmured and twitched but proceeded to fall back asleep.
Covering his mouth, Callidus laid back down on the bed, his eyes facing the dark ceiling. Closing his eyes, he smiled to himself and
said quietly, "What a night this was."

Short Story : ' Half Finished Dreams '
Half Finished Dreams Each summer Mom and I take a trip to my Grandma's house up North. This project is Grandma's dream home

however, Grandma didn't have much money, so it was always, do what we can with the money she had at the time, this left the house

that I was helping my Grandma's dream come true.
We stirred from our beds that next morning to the birds chirping and the ability to finally shower. I was finally able to wash the bug
spray and sweat from my body, feeling a little more civilized. I put on some bum clothes and smelled my breakfast cooking; to my
surprise these eggs weren't made on the stove but in the microwave. It sounds curious, but its how Grandma thought, she never wasted
any resources. She didn't want to dirty a pan, so we used a plastic microwaveable dish. That was how we started every morning while
we talked about our plan for the day. While Mom and I were there we were going to work on one room completely. This room has been
just plywood, drywall, and lots of mementos in boxes stacked to the ceiling for many years. Before we could work on finishing the
room we had to empty it. These boxes were full of random things that my Grandma accumulated throughout her life. We just wanted to
donate everything but Grandma wanted to look through each box and tell you the story behind it. It was very frustrating because we had

College Admissions Essay: My Life As A Young Man
The air is tainted with the scent of perspiring bodies as the chirps of shoes fighting for traction echo off the walls. Rubber skid marks
span across the effulgent wooden floor. Two round orange iron rims hang ten feet above the thick black lines that stretch ninety–four
feet end line to end line. At the halfway point, in a big circle, lies a logo of a fierce bulldog. Terse bursts of air trickle down from the
vents above. Most people would call the body odored gym an unpleasant setting, but I couldn't imagine spending my free time any
other place. I mastered the skill of repetition and gained confidence here. It is the very place that I, a small ghostly white colored boy

Netflix : A Successful Company
INTRODUCTION
Netflix is a highly successful company. The $47 billion company started out in 1997 by having DVDs delivered to your house to having
the content accessible anywhere online with Wi–Fi. The company not only makes the shows accessible to you, but it also creates and
produces original shows. Who is behind this successful story? Reed Hastings, the founder of Netflix, first thought of Netflix whenever
he received a $40 late fee from Blockbuster. With Marc Randolph, they cofounded this greatly successful business (Loudenback).
HISTORY
Three years after founding Netflix, Hastings attempted to sell a large percentage of his company to the business that inspired him to
create the company in the first place, Blockbuster. He suggested Netflix would be the online portion while Blockbuster would remain as
the rental portion of the company. The idea was brilliant, in my opinion. However, Blockbuster did not accept the offer. Determined,
Hastings went to build his company stronger (Loudenback).
In 2005 all the promoting and advertising paid off when Netflix had over 4.5 million streaming shows, movies and documentaries.
Netflix outdid Blockbuster's attempts to stream online. Hasting's company did not just stop there. It continued growing until they
eventually had shows exclusively on Netflix. Those original shows have even won several Emmys. House of Cards, for example, has
won a total of 13 awards and has been nominated for over 50! In 2010 Netflix had almost four times

He got up, adjusted his clothing, and picked up his pouch..."I'll work for
you," he said. And after another long silence, he added, "I need money to buy some sheep." (page 47)
Response: One of the major conflicts in The Alchemist was the boy's battle with himself. Being a shepherd in the beginning, the boy
mostly put his worries on the sheep. After confronting with the King of Salem, the boy switched his purpose into finding treasure in
Egypt. Though he then changed his mind when talking to the crystal merchant to become a shepherd once again. In my opinion, all
these fights he had within of what to do with his life happened for a reason because they each made him realize the omens that led him
to his own destiny.

This gets in our thoughts and sometimes in the future, we start to regret our decisions. " it's the possibility of having a dream come true

to our hearts?" the boy asked. " because, wherever you heart is, that is where you'll find your treasure" the alchemist replied (coelho

Freedom : A Short Story
This is a story about freedom. A daring tale of a young boy taking a stand for what he believed in. The joys and horrors of a bold trek
through the wild streets of Brookline, Massachusetts. This is an account of the first time I went out without my parents.
Growing up, my parents used to be unbearably overprotective. As a result of this, I rarely was allowed to hang out with my friends if an
adult was not around to supervise us. I also had very little street smarts or navigation ability since I was never out by myself. This
continued until seventh grade, when I started to become really frustrated with my lack of freedom. I was envious of the other kids
because their parents allowed them to walk around town without supervision, and I grew to slightly resent my own because they
wouldn't do the same. They are both immigrants, and raising an only child in a foreign country understandably brought with it constant
anxiety about my safety. Of course, I didn't get this at the time. And so it was that a couple of months into seventh grade I decided to
take action and fight against tyranny. One day after school, one of my friends asked if I was free and wanted to hang out. I was and I
did, but noted with despair that my parents had never allowed me to be out without supervision. However, I thought it was time to stand
up to authority and give my mom a piece of my mind. I stormed confidently out of the school to the car (where of course she was
waiting to pick me up), determination

This check was a life insurance check of ten thousand dollars and was from Walter's deceased father's life insurance. All of the family
members had their own dreams, and this was their best option to make these dreams come true. This check could help pay for
Beneatha's medical school; however, it was up to Mama to decide how to use the money, "The insurance money belongs to Mama," (p.
38). After Mama used some of the money to buy a house for the family, she entrusted the money to Walter telling him, "Take three

money was going towards her medical school. This was one major positive contribution to her dream.
The mental status of Beneatha was much like the beginning of the play, confused. She was still using her family's income to pursue her
changing hobbies such as guitar and acting. Mama complained about this saying, "Why you got to flit so from one thing to another?"
(p. 47). Mama said this quote in frustration because the family was already strapped for cash. Beneatha was not even working to help

Inspiration: An Alchemist By Paulo Coelho
Inspiration, it reminds me of a brilliant thought by Bob Dylan, "Inspiration is hard to come by. You have to take it where you find it".
When successful people deliver their stories, they voice how inspiration made them what they are. As an analytical audience I often
used to think, is it possible that an inspiration alone can make such a difference. I always felt, an inspiration simply means a process of
being mentally stimulated or kind of motivated to do or feel something creative. But I guess I was merely working on its meaning and
was incapable to feel its deeper sense until I got my inspiration.
My inspiration is a book, I know it sounds a little wired but it is like 'you have to get it where you find it' and I found it in a book By
Paulo Coelho – An Alchemist. It's a fiction story about a shepherd who tries to find the treasure of his life. The book is inspiration for

Humanistic Characterotypes In The Disney Film Zootopia
The Disney film Zootopia, was an animated film based on animals which possess humanistic traits. In the past, there were distinct
versions of predator and prey, however they now live together in "harmony". Or, this was how a bunny, named Judy Hops, pictured this
town known as Zootopia. When Judy decided to move to Zootopia to make her dream of becoming a cop come true she began to find
out everything she had heard about animals living in peace was not exactly true. Animals were constantly fighting and showing
discrimination toward one another. However, through determination, Judy proved herself as a reliable police officer by working on a
missing otter case. From this case, she could finally make her dream come true, which is one of the many lessons that could be learned
from this film. There are also many other pieces within the movie besides lessons that attract the viewer such as music choice, body
language, symbolism, and irony just to name a few. These things help assist the viewer to remain interested throughout the movie.
These elements attracted viewers of all ages. Even though the movie is for a large age group, it was mainly directed at younger children
because of the lessons that are portrayed within it. The first main lesson was learned in the school play about the animal's ancestors.
These animals often fought one another and because of this they lived in fear. However, in recent years predator and prey have gotten
along with one another. This lesson lets children know that if predator and prey can live happily, then people could do the same.
Determination was another great lesson for kids that was present in the beginning of the movie. For example, Judy Hops fought to make
her dream of being a cop come true. To do this she passed the Zootopia Police Academy training with flying colors, even though she
was made fun of for her small size. Because of her determination she graduated at the top of her class, proving that even the most
underestimated animal can make their dreams come true. Children can learn from this lesson because they begin to realize they can
make their dreams come true if they put in the effort to do so.
This film can also be enjoyed by adults because there are several forms

improving due to challenges. For instance, Duckworth presents how a growth mindset can keep improving," Dr Dweck has shown that
when kids read and learn about the brain and how it changes and grows in response to challenge, they're much more likely to persevere
when they fail, because they don't believe that failure is a permanent condition." (Duckworth 5:09). This shows, that even a student who
has a growth mindset does not succeed, they are inspired to keep improving. In addition, in an article written by Achieve, presents the
concept of how an incredible man conserved his growth mindset, "[Milt Campbell] maintained a positive outlook throughout his final
days"("Dream Believer"). This shows that when

Ghp Nominee Level Paper
Why I want to Attend GHP 2013 The Governor's Honors Program has been a dream of mine ever since by brother, Dammy, went there.
He would talk about it constantly while I listened intensively. Dammy spoke of the classes he had for technology, his roommate, and the
fun classes and activities he got to do after he finished classes. He told me about the time he went swimming and the gym class he had.
Dammy also spoke about the new people he met, his PA, and how much fun they had. His words encouraged me to try and make it to
GHP. He has always been my role model and I try to follow in his footsteps, especially when he talks about the activity with
excitement. The variety of GHP has drawn my attention greatly. When a former GHP student, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

There are many different topics and styles to choose from. You can be able to talk about dinosaurs and technology in the same sentence
even thought they did not co–exist. I am a person of variety. The text can be a fiction novel or a documentary. The variety makes it
special and complex enough to enjoy the challenge. I enjoy challenges because they make me think and it is not possible to excel in
these activities without deep thoughts. The good review of GHP has gotten further helps to encourage me to go for it. GHP seems like
an all–fun camp but the 4 hour–long classes also sounds complex enough for me so much that I am longing to be a part of it and enjoy
every second of it! The things I choose to do I work hard at. I find time to take care of what is needed to be done. I do what is needed to
pass and/or excel in the activity I am doing. I remember, with excitement, how I was nominated from my English Language class at
Woodland Middle School and finally selected, after taking the SAT exam, to participate in the all challenging yet memorable Duke
Talent Identification Program (TIP) in my 7th grade! Summer 2010 was one of a kind; we were on family vacation in Florida in the
middle of my first ever encounter with an online college–level class at the Duke University. It was most challenging yet fun trying to
turn in assignments in an unstable internet access environment. This thought is fueling my passion for GHP and is

Personal Narrative Essay : Living Abroad Is A Dream Come...
Living abroad is a dream come true, but it wasn't easy.Being in a land of opportunities, it was hard finding a job that would hire
inexperienced people. I started working as a live–in cook on a senior home care where my uncle works. I quit after few weeks of
working and was hired as a cashier at a souvenir shop in Downtown Las Vegas. Everything was going well. But after three years of
working, I got fed up by how they treat and manage their employees. I looked and applied for a new job, but to no avail, I wasn't lucky
enough. I spend my time babysitting my cousins to pay my bills. I believed my current situation was my final destination, that I couldn't
do anything to change it. All I have to do is go with the flow, and whatever happens, happens. However, attending a small family
gathering affected my opinion in life when one of my Aunt who works at Sunrise Hospital asked me a question, whether I'm working or
going to school. Her question caught me off guard. I was used to people asking me the same questions but tonight was different.
Probably because I failed my interview the day before yesterday and I am still a little bit upset about it. I wasn't proud with the way
things going on in my life.
I'm currently unemployed and am not going to school. I ransacked my mind to think about what to tell my Aunt for her, not to ask
further questions about why I'm unemployed. In the end, I told her I quit my job to go to school. Which is half–lie and half–truth, I was
thinking of

Understanding Different Cultures In Ray Bradbury's...
Throughout my upbringing, my mother, an immigrant herself, has always shared he passion of traveling with me. She continuously
encouraged me to explore and understand other cultures. As a child, I traveled to her home country, Ecuador, where the culture is
extremely different. She took me to all different parts of the country, immersing me in the different cultures of the coast and the
mountains, taking me to small villages and local markets. In addition, on my 8th birthday, my family and I explored Europe. We
traveled to England, France, Italy, and Switzerland. Even at such a young age, I was eager to try all the different types of cuisine, learn
a few words and phrases in each language, and visit local museums and monuments. In addition, to Europe, I also had the opportunity
to explore Central America, exploring the pyramids in Mexico and .... Unfortunately, as I grew up, traveling abroad became more
difficult as my school schedule and my parents work schedules became more demanding. I have always desired to expand my
knowledge on different cultures and countries, especially in my mother's homeland of South America. I would love to become more in
touch with my heritage and learn more about the different cultures and people of South America.
Imagine the world that Ray Bradbury depicted in Fahrenheit 451, for many this dreadful situation mirrors their reality. Because books
have been a huge part of my life, I had always dreamed about bringing the gift of reading to those

  • 1. O Brate Scholarship Essay Growing up in a family of two siblings and a single father, I learned to make my life less challenging by working hard with discipline. People always say life is unfair, but I don't have an excused to stop trying harder to have a better life. Since I was little, I have been struggled to find my dream because my little silly dream to have a dinner with my parents seem impossible. When I was three, my parents fought and end up with a divorce. I got raised by my grandmother and my father when my mother left without a word. • 3. Personal Narrative: Pistachio Cozmo It was early in the spring of '18, me and my boyfriend, we decided that we wanted to settle down. I grew up in a small town, I prefer not to name them for the sake of the people in the town as of the town doesn't want to 'be attacked' by 'terrorists', but that's beside the point. My boyfriend had the peculiar name of Pistachio Cozmo, he grew up in the city but after he graduated he moved to my town the town of, oh, wait can't tell ya, ANYWAYS he is tall with hair as dark as the midnight sky, and gorgeous hazel eyes that twinkle in the sun, he is tall, about 6'2 or so, he is a dream come true. I am Hailee Woodbeed a 5'7 quirky person with long blond hair and and blue eyes, I am not like most girls, according to Pistachio, I don't know ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I woke up early the next morning to go and run a few errands, before I left i noticed that the tragedy, wasn't so much a tragedy anymore, more like an appalling place. I also notice Katelyn was still there. I left to go to a couple of place to come home to, you may have guessed it, Pistachio screaming because the brat was trying to pull his hair out. "Stop, stop, enough, you need to settle down' I declared, "Stop pulling his hair, settle down, will kindly tell me whats going on and what do you want" "I want to leave" Pistachio groaned "I would like to do the same, I just don't want to go home" Katelyn announced I told Katelyn that she couldn't, not just yet. We needed to finish our plan, and fast. Late that night after Katelyn passed out on the couch we finished our plan. We wrote a letter addressing Emma Smith, it said Dearest Mrs. ... • 5. Reflection Paper Every cheerleader knows the struggle; having to balance practices, workouts, school, performances, and your personal life. This is nearly impractical without having to make sacrifices. When these sacrifices are made, they can either break you or benefit you. I personally, had to make a decision that would leave my team heartbroken–but I knew that in the end, it was a choice that had to be made. Taking a stand for my happiness, and true passion, changed my perspective on life. Sitting in the bleachers and watching the cheerleaders lift everyone's spirit up and seeing them perform, made me long to do school cheer. I thought that it was going to be fun, enjoyable and an amazing opportunity. It was a dream that I wanted to be able to experience. I talked to my mom and grandma about doing it. I told them that it was something that I would be proud to claim. They agreed that I should try something new, for a change. I than made the decision to follow my heart and do both school and All–Star cheer, knowing that this would be a huge responsibility to take on. Being the type of person that likes to try new things and likes to experience life, I strong–mindly decided to try out for the team. I knew that it would be difficult to balance both teams, but I strive to accomplish things that I set out to do. Once the tryouts were over, I was excited for the season to start. After practices started, I remembered how much I loved going to practices. It was amusing to be able to do something ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. The Story Of My Life "At some point, you have to realize that some people can stay in your heart, but not in your life," Sandi Lynn. The fear of losing a loved one is one of the worst things in life, and no matter how hard you try to get over it or how hard you fight against it, when the time comes, you are never going to be ready. I realized that when my grandfather died; too young to understand what death was, but old enough to experience the pain. Not only he died, also part of me did. "I will always be by your side, my little princess," were the words that came to my mind as I walk down to where we would meet. I smiled, as I remembered how much fun we always had" May 2009, Friday evening, I went out to the best pizza place in town, La Roca, to wait for my grandfather, who lived in another city and would come to visit me. As soon as I arrived I sat down in front of a big window, so that way we could appreciate the beautifulness of Mother Nature, something we both loved. For hours and hours, I waited patiently, and while waiting for him I remembered all the moments we shared together, all the places we went, and all the things he taught me, for example, to be strong. Since it was a while since we las met, I had so many things to tell him; I had earned two certificates of recognition and appreciation, and I also got all A's on my report card. I just wanted him to enter through the door so I could run into him with a big hug, but sadly he never showed up. His tardiness was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. College Admissions Essay: Going To College Many people, since I was little, pressured me into going to college. My parents didn't mind what I decided, all that mattered is what makes me happy. They would support me no matter what my heart decided to do. Over the years family members tried to persuade me into believing that without a college degree you'll never become successful. To them, college had to be a part of my future which I think is the main reason I decided that college would be for me. Ever since I was told that I started to disagree and pushed myself to realize that I wanted to prove them wrong. I can do anything I want and accomplish any goals I have as long as I set my mind to it. College isn't the only way to become successful, working can get you places you never thought possible. And why were you looking in my mailbox," I say humorously. Makenzie jumps over the couch, kicking my phone out of my hand, "We are going to Los Angeles!" A few weeks before, Makenzie and I entered a contest to win a free trip to a Justin Bieber concert, in Los Angeles. I open the package, and the first word I read was 'Congratulations!' I screamed as I ran to my closet to get my suitcase. Makenzie started to throw random clothes in my bag, and I quickly stopped her. "Why are you taking all the clothes out," Makenzie said confused. "Don't you remember who filled out the information with us?" Makenzie's face dropped as she answered my question. "I told you not to bring Agustin and Jacob to the mall with us, now we have to spend hours on a plane with them, hearing them talk non–stop," Makenzie confirmed. • 13. Original Writing Of Hawaii, Hawaii I was 12 when we first moved into our house in Hawaii. It was a huge change in our lifestyle. We had come from Canada where we were used to cold weather and short summers. But Hawaii was the opposite of this. Everything was going great for a while. I really liked my school, the people, and the beaches that would take your breath away. Most of all I love my house. It was gorgeous! As you walked up to it, there was a big blue door that matched the colour of my eyes. With tall ceilings, a giant kitchen, and luxurious bathrooms, the house was like a dream come true. The house even came with beautiful grey couches. It was very complex, almost like a mansion! The kitchen and the living were together in a giant area with the dining room to the ... If everyone thinks my house is haunted, then I should prove to them it is. Even though it really isn 't, some attention seemed like it would be nice! That night I came up with a story that I thought was pretty good. So when I got to school I was eager to tell them. Once lunch finally came around, my plan was ready. As I walked into the cafeteria for the first time, it actually smelt good! In Canada it never smelt like this. I was used to the gross hotdogs and burnt macaroni. Knowing I wasn't going to be eating horrible food, sounded pleasing. The only reason I hadn't eaten in here yet was because my friends never did, and I was to shy to eat without them. When I got to the lunch table all my friends greeted me. I knew I was alone, so why would I see anything move in there? So I look over and..." I paused, trying to make them scared. "Someone, was standing in my closet!" They all gasped in fear. I've dreamt about where and how I wanted to live when I was younger for years. My dream place to live would have to be a remote family village, that has the many conveniences of being close to work and family, where everyone has their own separate sections, yet we a still isolated from the world. To start, my dream home would consist of multiple houses to make a family village. My family relies on each other, and being in different counties or even states makes it a lot harder to assist each other. We all have different size families, as well. Theses rooms would be for when you need privacy to prevent anyone from running away or leaving the neighborhood angry or upset. One of the main aspects of the village is privacy without distance. • 25. A Double Life Essay In Howards End we see the outer and inner worlds – the prose and the passion, disconnected, but still existing within the same space. Although the material Wilcoxs' and cerebral Schlegels seemingly come from different worlds, their alignment is ultimately a matter of personal connection. Yet, just about sixty years prior in Karolina Pavlova's A Double Life we see the same two worlds existing in separate spaces entirely – prose in the waking life, poetry within Cecily's dreams. One explanation for this is that of Konstantin Askakov, in his introduction to Pavlova's novella. For him, the prose represents the "outer," frivolous emptiness of everyday high society; the poetry, the voice of Cecily's "soul." Cecily's dreams then represent an inner ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Suddenly his previous characterization no longer stands; suddenly it is clear he was described as an outcast because he has access to this higher meaning in a way his audience might not. It's worth again making explicit that the previously established form of the novella breaks down here. Not only does poetry briefly inhabit the waking life, but so too does the higher meaning it has come to represent. But what's important here is not only that the narrative structure is broken here, but who breaks it: the male poet. One explanation for this is a matter of difference in class. That is, the poet has access precisely because he did not grow up under the circumstances of high society, while Cecily's social status renders her incapable of having depth. Yet, the version of Cecily we see in her dreams does not support this reading; even in the presence of poetry she retains her social identity, and is even warned of her "swaddled" (51) upbringing. Rather, the relevant distinguishing feature between Cecily and the poet is that he is a man. While male poets may be seen as lower class or even unrespectable, women who pursue poetry are seen as "pitiable," and as having a "dangerous illness" (60). In short: poetry is not an option, and thus not even a consideration for women. There is perhaps something to be said that the women are shown ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. My Experience In My Life "Home isn't a place, it's a feeling," said Cecelia Ahern. In my lifetime, I've yet to understand this. All my life has been in different places. My dad is an engineer at an Indian company called Infosys. It requires a lot of hard work, effort, and most of all, traveling. I've been to eight different cities and ten different schools. But, who's counting? Moving has gotten so confusing over the past few years. It has gotten me a little off track. However, I'm ahead of my game. When I was in third grade, I lived in two states, Connecticut and New Jersey. When I made the big move to New Jersey, my Dad decided to move to India a couple months later. When I went to India, I still had to go to school. Since the schools are different there than in the U.S., I had to take a test to decide my placement in what grade I would be put into. I ended up going into fourth grade instead of going into the third grade for the second time. It was thrilling, but little did I know that it would have drastic consequences. To add to that, I was born in December of 2004 and missed the cut–off date by a long shot. As I moved, I gained a lot of experience with places. When I lived in Switzerland, (Yes, I lived in Europe once,) I learned that I should always wrap myself with as much protection as I can to protect myself from the cold weather. It was very hard living there since they spoke French and German and we spoke English, Tamil, and Telugu. When I went to kindergarten there, I picked up a little German. Of course, I don't remember any of it now, but it's still something I'm proud of. Even though it was hard moving to other places and leaving things behind, there was a fun component somewhere in the experience. There were always some fun moments that I remember. This one time when I went to India for summer break, I visited a friend I used to hang out with when I used to live there. She always got me into trouble, and I would complain, but I secretly loved it. • 39. Power Of Education In I Am Malala Education is the most powerful force in the world. It has given people everything they have today. Education brings people together, and shows how people can work together for one common goal of succeeding or accomplishing something. Education can bring advancements to new technology and ancient history. Learning and listening is something that should be free to anyone, but it is not. People like Malala Yousafzai and Martin Ganda had to fight for their education, which brought them many opportunities, and much success. These two young adults show how education can change someone's life and how people need education to be successful in life. The novels, I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai with Patricia McCormick and I Will Always Write Back by Caitlin Alifirenka and Martin Ganda with Liz Welch, both hold a strong significance of the power of education, which will help many people realize its significance. The book, I Am Malala, gave a powerful message about activism, family, women's rights, but most importantly, the power of education. Malala Yousafzai had a very strong belief in education and would not stop at anything to guarantee that every child was able to go to school. Malala grew up believing that education was the key to success, but not everyone else believed that. Malala lived in a society where women were not treated as equals, and soon appeared laws prohibiting women's right to attend school. Malala was extremely determined to continue her education, she even snuck to school, hid her books and abandoned her school uniform so she would not be noticed. Malala becomes vocal about education and gives her opinion in interviews for many news stations. Many people in her country feared to express their opinions, however, Malala wanted to be the change. Malala expressed her belief that "If people were silent, nothing would change." (Yousafzai 140). Although Malala knew that it was dangerous to speak against the Taliban, she suggests her opinions in interviews to draw international attention to her cause. On this trip, Mom and I would leave civilization and work on building this house for Grandma, even thought it was so much work, nothing beat the look on Grandma's face when we completed a project. I am a city girl and I was very out of my element, but I tried to think of it like camping and tried to remember that I was helping my Grandma's dream come true. We stirred from our beds that next morning to the birds chirping and the ability to finally shower. I was finally able to wash the bug spray and sweat from my body, feeling a little more civilized. I put on some bum clothes and smelled my breakfast cooking; to my surprise these eggs weren't made on the stove but in the microwave. It sounds curious, but its how Grandma thought, she never wasted any resources. She didn't want to dirty a pan, so we used a plastic microwaveable dish. That was how we started every morning while we talked about our plan for the day. While Mom and I were there we were going to work on one room completely. This room has been just plywood, drywall, and lots of mementos in boxes stacked to the ceiling for many years. Before we could work on finishing the room we had to empty it. These boxes were full of random things that my Grandma accumulated throughout her life. We just wanted to donate everything but Grandma wanted to look through each box and tell you the story behind it. It was very frustrating because we had a set plan on what needed to get done and ... Rubber skid marks span across the effulgent wooden floor. Two round orange iron rims hang ten feet above the thick black lines that stretch ninety–four feet end line to end line. At the halfway point, in a big circle, lies a logo of a fierce bulldog. Terse bursts of air trickle down from the vents above. • 47. Netflix : A Successful Company INTRODUCTION Netflix is a highly successful company. The $47 billion company started out in 1997 by having DVDs delivered to your house to having the content accessible anywhere online with Wi–Fi. The company not only makes the shows accessible to you, but it also creates and produces original shows. Who is behind this successful story? Reed Hastings, the founder of Netflix, first thought of Netflix whenever he received a $40 late fee from Blockbuster. With Marc Randolph, they cofounded this greatly successful business (Loudenback). HISTORY Three years after founding Netflix, Hastings attempted to sell a large percentage of his company to the business that inspired him to create the company in the first place, Blockbuster. He suggested Netflix would be the online portion while Blockbuster would remain as the rental portion of the company. The idea was brilliant, in my opinion. However, Blockbuster did not accept the offer. Determined, Hastings went to build his company stronger (Loudenback). In 2005 all the promoting and advertising paid off when Netflix had over 4.5 million streaming shows, movies and documentaries. Netflix outdid Blockbuster's attempts to stream online. Hasting's company did not just stop there. It continued growing until they eventually had shows exclusively on Netflix. Those original shows have even won several Emmys. House of Cards, for example, has won a total of 13 awards and has been nominated for over 50! In 2010 Netflix had almost four times ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 57. Freedom : A Short Story This is a story about freedom. A daring tale of a young boy taking a stand for what he believed in. The joys and horrors of a bold trek through the wild streets of Brookline, Massachusetts. This is an account of the first time I went out without my parents. Growing up, my parents used to be unbearably overprotective. As a result of this, I rarely was allowed to hang out with my friends if an adult was not around to supervise us. I also had very little street smarts or navigation ability since I was never out by myself. This continued until seventh grade, when I started to become really frustrated with my lack of freedom. I was envious of the other kids because their parents allowed them to walk around town without supervision, and I grew to slightly resent my own because they wouldn't do the same. They are both immigrants, and raising an only child in a foreign country understandably brought with it constant anxiety about my safety. Of course, I didn't get this at the time. And so it was that a couple of months into seventh grade I decided to take action and fight against tyranny. One day after school, one of my friends asked if I was free and wanted to hang out. I was and I did, but noted with despair that my parents had never allowed me to be out without supervision. However, I thought it was time to stand up to authority and give my mom a piece of my mind. When successful people deliver their stories, they voice how inspiration made them what they are. As an analytical audience I often used to think, is it possible that an inspiration alone can make such a difference. These things help assist the viewer to remain interested throughout the movie. These elements attracted viewers of all ages. Even though the movie is for a large age group, it was mainly directed at younger children because of the lessons that are portrayed within it. The first main lesson was learned in the school play about the animal's ancestors. These animals often fought one another and because of this they lived in fear. However, in recent years predator and prey have gotten along with one another. This lesson lets children know that if predator and prey can live happily, then people could do the same. Determination was another great lesson for kids that was present in the beginning of the movie. For example, Judy Hops fought to make her dream of being a cop come true. Because of her determination she graduated at the top of her class, proving that even the most underestimated animal can make their dreams come true. Grit is when you fully apply yourself to achieve your dreams and take mistakes as a guidance for improvement. Growth Mindset is to have an open mind to new ideas and to keep developing as a person. Based off of studies, Grit and Growth Mindset seems to be the most character–building traits that have transformed many students live's like us. Grit and Growth Mindset inspires students to be great because a growth mindset can keep improving, grit will lead you to find passion which results in success, and although some may say passion is more important, grit and growth mindset allows you to achieve your dreams.
