at the University of Missouri-Columbia in under four
years, graduating with honors. Kevin Waida is

Used throughout the United States as well as several
other parts of the world, the graduate record
examination (GRE) serves as a preliminary
standardized evaluation for graduate-level college
students preparing for their postgraduate studies.
3. GRE Exam
In general, the term GRE applies to the Revised GRE
General Test, an exam designed to assess a student’s skills
in both verbal and quantitative reasoning and analytical
writing.
In addition to the general exam, graduate students can take
any of the eight GRE Subject tests, which account for
similar abilities in the realm of specific subjects such as
psychology, physics, literature, and biochemistry, cell, and
molecular biology. GRE Subjects are typically taken in
order to demonstrate students’ expertise in the subject they
majored in as an undergrad when applying to specific
masters and graduate programs.
