The Dashboard is the first screen that you will see each time you enter SAFARI Montage. It is a fast way to access digital content and playlists that you have used recently. As a brand-new user, you will not see any listings, but once you have used the system, the Dashboard will be customized by your selections. Each user’s dashboard will look a little different based on their user type and system use.

When searching by keyword(s), the system will look through the entire library of digital content, including title names, title summaries and chapter descriptions. To start a search, click on the ‘Search’ button on the main navigation bar. Type in a word or series of words that best describes your topic. Click on Search.
Your search results will be separated by type into multiple tabs, including Videos, Images and Audio. This is known as federated search results. Other tabs may appear, depending on licensed content, modules and custom integrations. Remember to browse across the tabs to find content in various media formats which are relevant to your search.
TIPS:
1) You can refine your search by grade level, but keep in mind that segments may be applicable even from shows outside of your grade range. It is suggested that you keep a broad grade range.
2) You can also use the quick search bar in the header to get to the keyword search from any page.

Notice that each segment has its own play button as well for easy play back of segments.

The SAFARI Montage Media Player is designed to support K-12 classrooms. Since this is server based content, you can easily drag the scrub bar to fast-forward and rewind without buffering. There are several other player features of note as well:
Use Variable Speed Playback to play video and audio at slower speeds; ideal for special needs students and English Language Learners.
Click on the View Full Screen icon to enlarge the player window to fill your screen. Click on the icon again to exit “Full Screen” mode.
Closed-captioning and Spanish language tracks are available for many SAFARI Montage titles. Click on the CC icon to turn closed-captioning on and off, and click on English\Spanish to toggle between the two languages as the video continues to play. Trainer tip: Identify a piece of content in advance that demonstrates the English/Spanish toggle and the closed-captioning features. It is recommended to search among Schlessinger Media titles.
The Resolution button allows administrators or end users to select a higher or lower resolution for playback based on available bandwidth, and whether or not you are previewing the content, playing it for an in-class presentation or playing it on a mobile device.
