LOCAL VOLUNTEERS HOST ALEX’S LEMONADE STAND DURING
NATIONAL LEMONADE DAYS
West Philadelphia Residents to host lemonade stand to raise funds and awareness for
childhood cancer
The Robinson family and friends will host their fourth annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand as
part of the National Lemonade Days weekend on Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 11am-
5pm, at the School of the Future, Parkside & Girard Avenues in Philadelphia, PA,
during the West Park Arts Festival. The Robinson family decided to get involved because
Mrs. Kennedy-Robinson felt that it was important to teach her daughter and her daughter’s
friends how important it is to give back and help others.
The Robinson family calls their stand “Little Ladies Lemonade” because the lemonade will
be sold by girls who are excited to raise funds to help sick children. Little Ladies Lemonade
stand will be held at the West Park Arts Festival, which is a multicultural neighborhood
event that supports the arts. Little Ladies will add a special touch to their stand by offering
Pink Lemonade and Regular Lemonade. Each person who donates will receive a special
thank you.
Founded by Alex Scott (1996-2004) in 2004, Lemonade Days is a three day national event
that grew out of Alex's front yard lemonade stand, and is held every year over the same June
weekend. During Lemonade Days, dedicated volunteers host thousands of Alex's Lemonade
Stands across the country, raising over $1 million for childhood cancer research in one
weekend. June 2011 will mark the 8th Annual Lemonade Days with an estimated 10,000
volunteers at over 2,000 Alex’s Lemonade Stands around the nation making a difference for
children with cancer.
