This new center will be one of six affiliates of St. Saturday, Oct. 22: Girard 5K Trailblazer race at
9:00 a.m. is preceded by the Kid's Costume Dash at 8:30 a.m. And each gift can help up to 3 people.
May 6, 2009 (Columbia, S.C.) -- On May 16-17 Columbia, S.C. is set to host one of the premier events
on the national club rugby calendar -- the USA Rugby Men's National Playoffs.
You might not have money to give, but maybe people you know do. There are charity walks for every
cause you can imagine. Find one that is close to your heart and participate. Not only will you raise
money, but you'll also get a bit of exercise in the process.

heightened the event, but guests never lost sight of the real reason they came.
St. Jude's treats children with cancer, and they pride themselves on never turning any child away
due to financial concerns. The hospital is also a leader in pediatric cancer research. John first
became involved with the facility over 15 years ago after performing at the center. He was inspired
by what they do and he has stayed involved ever since then.
It's at the House of Blues Where the heart meets the soul, right? Where else can you enjoy a World
Famous Gospel Brunch on Sunday afternoon, a Burlesque Festival on Saturday night and kickin' ribs
any night of the week? Event features include a wood mahogany dance floor, credit card machine
available (to save you that trip to the ATM), $8 valet parking and free cancer fund support treats for
all! Tickets are only $15 for guests 21 and up, and $20 for the young'uns (18-20). The House of Blues
is located in the historic White Swan Building on the edge of the West End and Victory Park. Come
at 9:00pm and stay until 2:00am.
Later that afternoon, I had the opportunity to visit the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). While
doing rounds, I saw my little friend waking up from her anesthesia. She was only whimpering. She
wasn't crying or screaming like the other children were. Her parents jumped to her side and started
stroking her head and held her hand. They immediately comforted her using touch therapy. The
techniques had become part of their tool chest, and were the first method they used to soothe her.
Columbia Olde Grey was established in 1972 and has competed nationally on the rugby field and
been involved in its community ever since. Currently a Division II competitor on the field, the club is
also very active supporting local charities. Last year, the team hosted events benefiting breast
cancer research and pediatric cancer. They are also the reigning United Way Tug-A-Plane
champions.
Killian Owen was a vibrant child who loved sports. Everyone can give time to offer to help cancer
patients. Funds go to more than 150 cutting-edge research projects throughout the nation.
