Digital Music Industry
I. Introduction Many people are still perplexed how 'you are my love' (a very popular song on the internet in China) has become popular, which is also
considered cheesy from the view point of some mainstream recording industries and organizations. According to Zhang, CEO of the Idol Entertainment
Ltd, 'this represents neither a retrogression of society, nor a down step in terms of culture. It is normally a reflection of the current music market, which
is to satisfy the consumers' demands fundamentally.' In fact, music online is currently receiving both profit and widespread acclaim, drawing lines with
recording industry and traditional music profit modal (Zhang, 2006). This report aims to give knowledge about several evolutions... Show more content

Finally, the recording companies will distribute their record (Nirkind, 2003). However, the Internet has been a shortcut for recording songs and for
recording companies, in other word, just as important as playing songs in a ranking list in radio stations. C. From monopoly to public The increasing
popularity of web songs has helped to improve the music business. In contrast, the previous mode has been laggard because of the monopolization by
a few major elite music companies (Zhang, 2006). Every music fan is currently fascinated with the dissemination of musical industry digital interface
(MIDI) in producing his or her own music. In addition, if we say the MP3 player represents a revolution in terms of music dissemination, in that way,
MIDI can be considered to be the delegate of a music revolution in music production (Kennedy, 2006). In the past, producing a song needs to be helped
by other musicians and musical instruments costing at least 10,000 Yuan in China. Nowadays, depend on the advances of technology, the computer can
uses musical industry digital interface to simulate all musical instruments almost at around 300 to 500 Yuan (Zhang, 2006), thus, a huge reducing cost
in producing music. D. From middle–class to low–class consumers In real life,

Civil Mammals Violence has become a major problem in modern–day society. Gruesome video games and certain entertainment shows such as
pro–wrestling has been exposing violence to kids that later on wish to emulate these actions. These actions are then publicized to the world by violent
acts toward other species and human beings. In his article, "An Elephant Crackup," Charles Siebert depicts the violence that humans have done toward
the elephant culture and how humans should put a stop to these acts and save elephants from extinction. With his strong defense on elephants, Siebert

This is due to the fact that children are attached to their caretakers for a long period of time, just like elephants. If both species had empathy toward one
another then young children from both man and pachyderm would receive appropriate guidance, therefore obtaining a better and healthier society.
Humans must set an example for elephants by displaying positive behavior to eliminate the violence that can put both species at risk. In his article,
Siebert describes the many violent attacks that elephants have done toward humans due to the captivity that humans have kept elephants under. The
captivity toward elephants has emerged due to a lack of human empathy, which then causes elephants to rage more and engage in violent attacks. Gay
Bradshaw, a psychologist at the environmental–sciences program goes further to distinguish relationships between humans and animals:
"Where for centuries humans and elephants lived in relative peaceful coexistence, there is now hostility and violence. Now I use the term 'violence'
because of the intentionality associated with it, both in the aggression of humans and, at times, the recently observed behavior of elephants (527)."
The key phrase that Bradshaw states is the "peaceful coexistence" that humans and elephants used to have. Both humans and elephants are wild
creatures and it is undeniably difficult for two extremes to make peace, especially

Expository Writing
I really don't have any idea on where to start this paper, where it should go, and how it should end. It seems that I'm having a slight problem
grasping the idea of expository writing. It's like when you were a kid trying to make it all the way across the monkey bars. You want to be able to
reach that next rung and you try very hard, but somehow you just can't reach it. I seem to be having that problem. Right now, as I write, I'm not exactly
sure I'm reaching the goal of this assignment, but this may be the best that it gets.
All through elementary school, high school, and my freshman year of college, I was taught (and believed it was the only right way) that you must start
your paper with a introduction, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I have a hard time concentrating on one thing. My mind always seems to wander from one thought to another. Right now, on this beautiful winter day
(almost spring–like it seems), I have to wonder what I'm missing out on in life. The decisions I have made so far in my life has shaped who I will
become and what I will accomplish. It is hard to imagine that something I did when I was five could play a major role as to where I am today. Kind of
makes a person wonder, don't it?
I am very unclear on what exactly expository writing is all about. I have come to understand theme writing, or should I say themewriting, throughout
my life writing experiences. It is all I've ever known. Maybe all I ever want to know, but I guess it's a little late for that. It was what was expected
from you by all who read and critiqued your papers. You may have not put anything into the paper that was part of you, but you included all that would
explain your point and/or purpose for writing that paper.
What techniques, styles, forms, and etc., can get you past the concept of themewriting? Is there one certain way you can propel yourself past this day
to day writing that I have become so accustomed to? Do you accomplish this through clarity, voice, complexity or simplicity, or should it convey a
meaning? This seems to be the difficulty that I am facing at this point in time. I feel as though I am uncertain on the steps or set of procedures that I

Decision Making Approaches
I Introduction
A job for a leader is to make decisions. Most managers or executives have to engage in some aspect of decision making including coming up with
ideas, evaluative alternatives, or implementing directives (Brousseau et al., 2006). However, it could be a critical issue for decision makers to build up
proper decisions in various situations. Hence, how to adopt suitable technique in decision making processes is a significant text for them. This essay
firstly is going to discuss the benefits of automated decision making due to improvement of technology, such as effective quality and services. Yet,
abundant limitations including environmental changes and professional shortages will be illustrated in the next part. Furthermore, ... Show more content

In the thinking mode, executives can make decisions that are broadly defined and consist of multiple courses of action (Brousseau et al., 2006).
Successful managers in organisations are more analytic in their style while they progress in their jobs (Brousseau et al., 2006). Further, Elbanna and
Child (2007) prove that rationality has a positive relationship with organisational outcomes.
Nonetheless, some constraints of rational decision making process should be pointed out. Firstly, in Brousseau et al. (2006) study, significant
differences of global management culture are demonstrated. For instance, Americans stand apart in using a flexible thinking style more and more when
they progress in their position, but the situation is reversed in Latin America. Thus, global management should be aware of differences in culture.
Moreover, real–life decision making makes more sense than people think because so much of it is beyond conscious thinking (Mintzberg and Westley,
2001).
Intuition
To date, researchers have emphasised rational decision making processes rather than intuitive processes (Elbanna and Child, 2007). However, all the
data or information in the world cannot trump the valuable experiences from lifetime that informs one's gut instinct, feeling as well as intuition
(Matzler et al., 2007). Dane and Pratt (2007) also state that intuition comes from

Performance–Enhancing Drugs, various substances, chemical agents, or procedures designed to provide an advantage in athletic performance.
Performance–enhancing drugs affect the body in different ways, such as enlarging muscles or increasing the blood's oxygen–carrying capacity. Despite
these apparent benefits, the use of such drugs is considered both competitively unethical and medically dangerous. Most performance–enhancing drugs
are outlawed by organizations that govern major amateur and professional sports.

These are lipids (fat–soluble chemicals) produced naturally by the human body. Some of these steroids include the male hormone testosterone (an
androgen) and the female hormones estrogen and progesterone. Testosterone is responsible for many of the physical changes that occur to males
during adolescence, such as deepening of the voice and increase in muscle mass. Even after adolescence, testosterone continues to influence a variety of
male sexual and emotional processes.
Derivatives of testosterone can be artificially produced in a laboratory. These steroids, first developed in the late 1930s, are commonly prescribed for
medical reasons such as preventing the loss of bone density from osteoporosis or counteracting the body–wasting effects of acquired immunodeficiency
syndrome (AIDS). Weightlifters discovered the potential athletic benefits of steroids in the 1950s, and their use by top–level athletes spread in the
ensuing decades. In 1991 congressional legislation made steroids a controlled substance in the United States, meaning they could only be obtained
legally with a doctor's prescription.
Despite this, the illegal use of steroids remained widespread among athletes seeking to gain strength and bulk up their bodies. Taken by injection or in
pill form, performance–enhancing steroids work primarily by stimulating certain proteins involved in the building of muscle tissue. The result is an
increase in the person's fat–free

During the semester, the class was assigned writing tasks that were intended to showcase our strengths and weaknesses in our writing. We were forced
to think outside the box and expand on ideas in our readings. In the beginning of the semester, I was not certain what to except from this course.
Writing has never been my strong suit, early in the semester I struggled with the writings. In high school, English class was not my favorite subject
causing me to not gain the knowledge I should have, coming into this course with a poor knowledge about expository and narrative writing. Once I
entered this course, the information that was received about expository and narrative writing helped me tremendously. I became accustomed to the new

My weakness that was evident in my writing was my grammar, I made a few mistakes that could've been fixed had I revised my grammar more
intently. Overall I enjoyed this writing because it was based off a topic that I could relate to easily. I learned that if I organize my ideas prior to
writing, it makes it a lot easily to write about.
Reflection:
The prompt of the reflection was to reflect on a topic and question it. I wrote about love and why it is that we love certain things. In my writing, I
explained how individuals fall in love based off quality memories that they have of that a person, place, or thing. My purpose was to provide the
reader with enough information to convince them that love is based off memories. The toughest challenge that I faced was finding enough
information to support my claim. Through multiple hours of searching the web I was able to find enough information that supported my claim and
was satisfied with my draft that was submitted. While I was revising my paper my focus was to eliminate any grammatical and or spelling errors
that may have been made. Throughout my writing the strength of it was my sensory imagery, when I talked about my grandmother's home I made
sure to give the reader a good mental image. Another strength that was evident in my writing was my personal experiences, giving a perspective
from my eyes to give the reader a better sense of what I was trying to say. The weakness of this paper was my

Chronic Osteomyelitis
I. Introduction Osteomyelitis An infection of the bone or bone marrow .It can be usefully sub classified on the basis of the causative organism
(pyogenic bacteria or mycobacteria), the route, duration and anatomic location of the infection. In children, the disease usually results from untreated
acute hematogenous osteomyelitis. The bone may be predisposed to infection due to recent trauma. Especially in times of civil unrest or war or as a
complication of surgical procedures such as open reduction and internal fixation of fractures which is the most common means of bone infection in
children. The long bones are affected most commonly, and the femur and tibia account for approximately half of the cases. Predisposing factors include

Another function of bones is the storage of certain minerals. Calcium and phosphorus are among the main minerals being stored. The importance of
this storage "device" helps to regulate mineral balance in the bloodstream. When the fluctuation of minerals is high, these minerals are stored in bone;
when it is low it will be withdrawn from the bone * Muscular There are three types of muscles–cardiac, skeletal, and smooth. Smooth muscles are used
to control the flow of substances within the lumens of hollow organs, and are not consciously controlled. Skeletal and cardiac muscles have striations
that are visible under a microscope due to the components within their cells. Only skeletal and smooth muscles are part of the musculoskeletal system
and only the skeletal muscles can move the body. Cardiac muscles are found in the heart and are used only to circulate blood; like the smooth muscles,
these muscles are not under conscious control. Skeletal muscles are attached to bones and arranged in opposing groups around joints. Muscles are
innervated, to communicate nervous energy to, by nerves, which conduct electrical currents from the central nervous system and cause the muscles to
contract. * Tendons A tendon is a tough, flexible band of fibrous connective tissue that connects muscles to bones. Muscles gradually become tendon as
the cells become closer to the origins and insertions on bones,

Expository Writing Class Analysis
This semester in Expository Writing class, I learned ways that can make my writing precise and professional looking. Specifically, I learned to revise
my writing by using two skills of RADAR revision: deleting and reading, and I demonstrated my understanding of these skills in personal statement
number 1 and 2.
The first skill I used is reordering. Using this skill I made my sentences more logical and made sure they flow well. In the draft of personal
statement 11 I wrote, "I used to hear this phrase a lot in my childhood and, therefore, I wanted to experience it and for me experiencing it means
growing up". When I revised I changed my sentence to read, "I always used to hear this phrase " stepping into real life". Thus , I wanted to experience
it and for me experiencing it means growing up". This revision improved my personal statement because when I reordered my sentences, it made my
writing precise and made more sense. In the sentence quoted above, I reordered three sentences into two. I introduced my phrase "stepping into real life"

After using this skill I removed ideas which were unrelated, sentences that didn't make sense and ideas that were repetitive. In the draft of the
second personal statement I wrote, "She works hard and devotes her time as much as she can to work and support me and my brother financially.
She also takes care of all the house chores from buying groceries to paying all the bills on time and cooking healthy food for us". When I revised I
changed my sentence to read, "My mother works hard and devotes her time as much as she can to work and support me and my brother". This revision
of deleting improved my personal statement by making it more precise and to the point.
This semester, I have improved my writing by using two skills: deleting and reordering. These skills are going to help me in the future as a writer by

Expository Writing: The Start Of The Revolution Against...
The seemingly basic act of writing is useful in more ways that one. Writing is how the United States started the revolution against England, people are
transported through time and space to Middle Earth, and it allows for people to learn the horrors of the Holocaust through the eyes of a young girl. All
of these things are made possible through writing. Writing is education, a job, a future. Even though there isn't an argument against the benefits of
writing, regardless of the genre, writing is helpful in at least three crucial ways: healing injuries, lowering anxiety and bettering memory. The
history of writing dates back to before Mesopotamia. With a past as long and changing as the history of writing, the history, nonetheless, is crucial.
Writing was originally just paintings on cave walls but developed over time. The first form of writing was called cuneiform, which was created by
making specific marks in wet clay using a reed like instrument (Mark). This act of making marks in clay is what enabled individuals to keep track of

How Successful Is Singapore in the Sporting Industry
I. Introduction
The body of this report is divided into two main sections. The first part addresses the main sports development in Singapore and the second assesses
these developments and sheds light on problems encountered in the related developments.
II. Sports Development in Singapore
Much of Singapore's economic success has been attributed to its status as a world–class commercial and trading centre. In the past century, the
government has focused most of the nation's policies to boost its economy and establish the country's reputation in the global market. There were
sparse efforts to refine plans and raise its sports profile. The report from the Committee of Sporting Singapore (CoSS) in 2001 stated that sports in

Aside from the Singapore Sports School, schools in Singapore have received funding to step up sports enrichment programs and sports are no longer
confined to being co–curriculum activities or physical education sessions in the school time table. In some schools, Physical Education has been
introduced as an examinable 'O' level subject. Students are taught to evaluate, plan and perform various sports, including understanding the advantages
and disadvantages of different training strategies and techniques.
Beyond secondary school education, tertiary institutes also offer sports management and sports science programs. For example, the Singapore Sports
School has tied up with International Baccalaureate and Republic Polytechnic to offer through–train diploma programs whilst Nanyang Polytechnic
offers the Diploma in Sports & Wellness Management and a degree in Sports Science Management is offered by the Nanyang Technological
University (NTU).
More recently, NTU has announced the setting up of a sports research facility named the Institute for Sports Research (ISR). It is a collaboration
project between the school, the Economic Development Board (EDB) and England's Loughborough University. Many companies have already
expressed interest in the project as it promises to develop advanced sports related innovations and technology.

Relationship Between Vocabulary And Reading Comprehension
Purpose
Research conducted by the National Reading Panel shows that there is a relationship between vocabulary and reading comprehension. The relationship
between vocabulary and reading comprehension prompted researchers to recommend educators to identify students in the early grades with low
language and vocabulary, and to intervene as soon as possible to prevent later reading comprehension difficulties. Once educators are awareness of the
students that have low language and vocabulary, interventions should be implemented to target vocabulary development (p.308).
A strategy identified to build vocabulary is read alouds. A read aloud is an oralreading done by the teacher that builds background knowledge,
vocabulary and comprehension. Research shows that although read alouds enhance vocabulary it does not close the vocabulary gap. It is suggested
that the addition of extended instruction in the form of a small group could close the vocabulary gap. The purpose of this study is to examine the
relationship between small–group instruction and vocabulary development and reading comprehension. The author hypothesizes that students with low
vocabulary and comprehension skills will improve from extended small–group instruction (p.309).
Method
The study included 106 first graders from 18 classrooms in nine Title I schools in the Pacific Northwest. Fifty–four students were in the experiment
group and received small–group instruction, and fifty–two students were in the control group.

You're Raising Suicidals
"You're raising suicidals with your predetermined titles." This is the all–telling line from Benny's song "Little Game." The entire song is dedicated to
the message that gender roles are something we are shoved into with little regard to who we actually are. Many people feel trapped in their gender roles,
whether they are transgender or not. Most of us are trained to stay inside this little box and listen to orders like a monkey in a cage. Play with the
dolls. Wear a dress. You, cut your hair. Pink is for girls, you can't wear that! But why? Why is the expectation to stay inside our little boxes, while
outside the glass such amazing things are waiting for us? You can't put someone in a box and expect them to be happy. Some people would rather
kill themselves than live like that. And whose fault would that be? I think we know the answer. You can't expect someone to sit in a box and obey
blindly just because you told them so. I will not sit idly and let wonderful things pass me by. I will always, always choose my heart over anything
anyone else tells me.
With a fury I had been scrolling through google, tumblr, and youtube, reveling in the feminine faces that had hair closely cropped to their scalp. Some
had bangs. Some didn't. Some were even shaved. I still ache for something like that–something edgy and out there. Something different. I begged my

You ever hear someone say they have swagger? A lot of times people's swagger is determined from their style. For example, everyone has a specific
style of fashion. If you put on some cargo shorts with a tank top and slides you're probably not going to a job interview. Just like anything else, writing
has different expressions. Writing is a form of communication; the person is writing to inform, persuade, describe, or tell a story. There are four main
types of writing styles, expository, persuasive, descriptive, and narrative. We then choose what we want to read according to our interest in each
category.

Its name might as well give it away. Think of a closing argument in a court case being presented to a jury. Each party's counsel is presenting a
persuasive writing in the form of a speech. In this type of writing the writer uses choice words in a cohesive manner in order to "sway" or persuade
the reader. You will most commonly come across this type of writing in advertisement. With that being said, persuasive writing is all around us. This
type of communication may consist of the writer's opinions, but the best form also includes facts to back up his or her statements. With attempts to get
consumers to purchase specific products, we see persuasive writings all around us in today's world.

An anonymous soldier gives detailed picture of a battlefield scene. Descriptive writing, often used to portray a vivid, detailed experience, person,
place, or thing, is third of the writing styles. This style of writing requires strong observation skills to convey the writer's point of view. In personal

Dictation by a student to a classmate or group is suggested for pronunciation practice as well ( Davis and Rinvolucri cited in Gibson 2008: 32). Foss

Eswine Homiletical Ideals
Preaching to a Post–everything World offers several contributions to the art of preaching. New ideas and concepts facilitate sermon design and
construction; while at the same time a fresh perspective was given to old ideas and concepts. Eswine's work added to the discussion of expository
Christ–centered preaching as well. In regard to sermon design, Eswine offered several new ideas and concepts. First, he suggested that preachers ask,
"Could I now reach who I once was?". Normally preachers observer their listeners; however, this question causes preachers to exegete themselves,
motivating them to recall their journey along the path of sanctification. "Remembering where we'd be without God and then ministering to others out
of that knowledge" promotes empathy with listeners (11). As a result, preachers are able to construct sermons tailored to meet the needs of their
listeners since they can relate to their struggles and situations as well as their questions and concerns.

provisions from the biblical text" (50): Divine Armor, Divine Beatitude/Promise, Divine Wisdom/Fruit, Divine Gift, Divine Diaconate, Divine Miracle,

Everything Wrong With School In 10 Minutes or Less!
When I was twelve, I had no appreciation for school. I saw it as nothing more as a glorified daycare center with all the rules and regulations
specifically designed to restrict as much fun as possible. Then one day in the ninth grade, I had a revelation: what if school was actually meant to build
me up with knowledge and facts and not just waste my time? This was the foundation I needed to get me through the next four years. Whenever I was
bored, I would remind myself that I 'd never have a "free" education like this again. I adapted particularly well to this system of tests, quizzes, and
science labs but I could never understand the hang up some people had with it. School was basic and easy and all it seemed to require was
consistency an+d proper scheduling. I looked at people who couldn 't understand US History or Geometry and I thought they were dumb. It wasn 't
until much later with much more reflection that I came to conclude there 's a difference between how you score on the SATs and how smart you
actually are. Education isn 't necessarily a direct line to becoming intelligent and knowledgeable; education is nothing more than an institution designed
to equip people with subsets of specialized processing methodologies, algorithms, and a fair bit of esoteric trivia. Furthermore, the current educational

Topic Hormone Growth hormone or somatotropin is the hormone involved in the disorder of acromegaly. Produced by somatotrophs in the anterior
pituitary gland, it functions as a metabolic hormone and determinant of body size. Growth hormones functions mainly on growth effects but it also has
other aiding purpose in different parts of the body such as mobilization of fats, blood level increase, glycogen breakdown and more. The chemical
nature of this hormone is protein based, hence the name somatotropin. It is originally made in the hypothalamus where it is secreted, then passes
through the anterior pituitary gland before it enters the bloodstream. It is regulated through negative feedback, inhibiting the release of growth
hormones when the amount in the bloodstream is high already. In terms of target tissues, it is very general, pretty much all the bone structure and most
of the muscular system is affected by the growth hormone. It also has a very short half–life, ranging from twenty to thirty minutes. Typically, growth

Imagine taking one step into a chlorine–filled arena. The humid air rushes onto your skin. An immense smile spreads across your face. This is
because you know everything is about to change. In less than 24 hours you will be holding a glistening gold medal in your hand, standing up on
the podium while the Star Spangled Banner blares for the whole world to hear and tears will stream down your face. Taking one look back at your
coach, Teri McKeever, you realize if it wasn't for her you would not be here. Graciously, you run up, swing your arms around her body, and embrace
her in a powerful hug that says it all. Swimming is a very intense sport and consumes every second of a swimmer's free time. However, putting in

writing this, Coughlin and Silver decided to put everyone's time in here. This happened at various times throughout the book. Not only would the
reader receive Coughlin's times, but also her competitor's times as well. Knowing others' times make it more of a real experience and allow the
reader to feel like they are standing on deck with Natalie and her coach, McKeever. Also, the book states, "In the end, Emily had chosen Cal over
Arizona, and Helen felt the Bears could validate that decision by prevailing." This quote along with the quote "So Crossen called Amano, asked if
she'd made a decision and nearly dropped the phone when she answered, 'Yes. I think I'm coming to Cal.'" allows the reader to have an insight on
some of Coughlin's teammates. It's important for the reader to be informed on how Natalie's fellow swimmers became recruited because each one of
the swimmers in the book both benefitted and interacted with Coughlin. Each one of them played a role in Natalie's life and that is why the authors
informed the reader of how her teammates were recruited. The book also explains some of their personal lives

The Supplemental Enrichment Program Is A Comprehensive...
A. The supplemental enrichment program is a comprehensive reading and language arts program that develops reading mastery by building a solid
reading foundation and using different research–based strategies and activities to meet the individual needs of students with autism spectrum disorder
(ASD). As a result, the supplemental enrichment program will prioritize the following core language and literacy aspects: Reading: Foundational Skills
The supplemental program will incorporate research–based lessons featuring daily repetition of word analysis and decoding practice. It will also target
word–reading skills and practice of words with phonetic irregularities and sight words in order to primarily boost reading accuracy with the ultimate
goal of increasing overall reading fluency and comprehension.
Reading: Narrative The supplemental program will engage students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in a similar but modified model of guided
reading instruction in a small group setting. This will promote a wide range of skills including a better understanding of the setting, plot, and theme,
comprehension of literal and figurative language, as well as structure and craft of narrative passages. These skills will always be supported through
teacher led explicit direct instruction, guided practice, and independent practice in every part or aspect of the program.
Reading: Informational or Expository Text Students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) will also have the

The Pro's and Con's of Student Preaching
Introduction
The Pro's and Con's of a student preacher can be very nerve wrecking because of the responsibility of following through with every "I dotted and
every "T" crossed. When writing, preaching and teaching the Word of God it can become very intimidating to anyone who desires to follow in a
league of skillful preachers, pastors and teachers. How can you be original when it appears all of the apparent techniques have been discovered?
Speaking of technique, how should a student preacher apply everything they ever learned from a Bible seminary? These are questions for many
students of the Bible. How do I represent God and still reach the lost souls of our generation and at the same time feed the Believers of Christ so they

Whereas the pastor of a larger church was more apt to read more books to get incite on how to continue to grow his church and meet the needs of
the people. Also the survey revealed the different types of influence came from authors, their fellow colleagues and other theology influences.
Also, they discovered pastors of a Pentecostal churches were more conservative in their approaches and would not use the influence of outside
sources. The Word of God talks about the mature saint and the survey also discovered that the age of a pastor will have influence of what is
preached based on experience. Either way modern day preaching has many factors of how a sermon is structured and shared among congregations
at every main service. When you consider how today's modern preacher or teacher compares to the original believers of Christ there is a shortage in
comparison. There could be one factor missing and it's just purely believing in the power of God's word being enough for the people to feed on and
live on until eternity. His word never changes it is the bread of life that will feed any intellectual of our time.

who had to delay their college education must know. One of the most challenging aspects of adult life consists of learning how to adjust accordingly

We must look at the adverse effects that those long work hours have on the human body. Overworked individuals can suffer from work related
illnesses as a result of excessive stress. Work related stress can result from extended hours due to mandatory overtime in some case. An employer's
rigid work hours which can prevent employees from tending to occasional issues at home can also be blamed for stress on the job. Employees
suffering the effects of stress in the workplace tend to have bouts of absenteeism. A. Supporting evidence Absenteeism in the workplace is a major
issue, with tangible and intangible costs. Although the absentee loses wages in the process, the major loss is at the expense of the employer. The
ebrary book by Lynn Tylczak, (Attacking absenteeism 1990), describes the intangible costs of absenteeism as follows: "Absentee costs are difficult to
quantify. Experts estimate direct wage loses of more than $30 billion per year, and that's just the beginning. Employers also need to consider the costs
of supplementary or replacement workers. These costs include: Regular wages, overtime wages, and company benefits Supplementary benefits, such as
Social Security, worker's compensation, and unemployment compensation Administration of recruitment, selection orientation, and training Penalty
costs resulting from delays." The author (Lynn T. 1990) also gives the following explanation from the tangible cost of absenteeism: "It forces

Expository Reading And Writing Class In Fahrenheit 451 By...
Literary Analysis Reflection
In Expository Reading & Writing Class, we read the book Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. This book was to be the basis for our CSP project which
had to do with analysis. This was because after reading F451 we need to create an essay that had to do with our character or theme. Besides just
focusing on the book itself, we also looked into who Ray Bradbury was. While I was researching him I discovered a lot about him. I learned that
Bradbury was an American fantasy and horror author most notably known for books such as Fahrenheit 451, Illustrated Man, and The Martian
Chronicles. Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 is a dystopian novel centered around a future American society where critical thought is outlawed and
books are burned. Ray was born in Waukegan, Illinois where he lived a relatively peaceful and happy childhood. While many argue that his book
F451 was exploring the themes of censorship and conformity, Bradbury argued in 2007 that that was not the central themes of his story. Instead, he
stated that his book was criticising how TV causes people to read less. In other words, TV discourages reading and thus critical thought. Even with
his apparent distaste of TV, he ironically still advocated film adaptations of his works. In class, we also made posters about Bradbury during class in
mini groups and I was in charge of writing the tone he takes in his book. Tone is an author's attitude towards a subject or audience. My group consisted

Gabriel Garcia Marquez's Short Story 'Sleeping Beauty on...
I. Introduction Gabriel Garcia Marquez is not the first author to reinvent classic European fairy tales. Yet his short story "Sleeping Beauty on the
Airplane," alternatively titled "The Plane of Sleeping Beauty" is a remarkable retelling of the Grimm Brothers' original "Briar Rose." The original
story includes themes of jealousy, fate, and romantic love. Marquez abandons jealousy, as there is no evil queen spinning a trap for the princess.
Therefore Marquez's "Sleeping Beauty on the Airplane" provides a unique lens for viewing and revisiting the Grimm Brothers' "Briar Rose."
Marquez's story distorts the original fairy tale, highlighting the power of unrequited physical attraction between strangers. II. Body Paragraph:
Introducing the Lens A. Summary: The narrator is a man traveling from Paris to New York. While waiting in line to check in, he spies "the most
gorgeous woman I have ever seen in my life." The man proceeds to follow the woman, and fate would have it that he picked the seat right next to
her. The woman sleeps the entire time on the plane, giving rise to the "sleeping beauty" motif. Unlike the original Briar Rose, though, the narrator
never becomes her prince. He does not kiss her to wake her from the slumber, and they do not live happily ever after. Instead they barely speak. B.
As a lens for Briar Rose, Marquez's "Sleeping Beauty on the Airplane" is told from the prince's perspective. Only for Marquez, the prince neither
kisses nor wins over the heart of

4. Environmental and operational causes are considered to be interrelated in causing the defects. The issue about cleanliness and sanitation like
mandatory wearing of proper attire and proper handling of raw materials are the things the manager should consider. Another thing could be proper

That is, the nuclear family's relationship–or lack of relationship–to the extended family or the community may play a huge part in functioning.
Ackerman (1958) viewed family work as a special method of treatment of emotional disorders based on dynamically oriented interviews with the
whole family. This looks at the who, what, where, when, why, and how of family. The goal is to bring to the surface all the "contributors" (person or

structure. The clinician can assist the family to develop a family tree to explore different trends or discover unknown facts. For example, in developing
this tree of people the family can include cause of death, possible miscarriages, mental health diagnosis of members, illnesses, or any other trend of
interest. This can also promote family connectedness by contacting other members or friends of the family to gather information. Structural Family
Therapy can also promote a safe environment for individuals to express concerns or feelings to family members. It can improve communication,
develop effective problem–solving methods, explore values, and experiment with new behaviors (Thayer 1982). The role of the clinician is to keep the
sessions family focused. The clinician must recognize who the "identified patient" is or the client the family system has

American realized they should learn the Japanese economy model of high levels of coordination between business and government, well–balance

experienced pressures to adapt U.S– style corporate governance and market–oriented employment practice. U.S now enjoys macroeconomic success,

regarding the model as the best. Generally, this two economies become more aware of each other, they compare themselves and more likely to adopt

Clarkson Lumber
I.Introduction Clarkson Lumber Company has been in growth during recent years and anticipated a further increase in sales. Despite of consistent
profits, the company has suffered shortage of cash and borrowed fund needed for its business growth. Question #1 Increasing amount of borrowing
despite of its consistent profitability came from following reasons. First is the firm's financial position. As sales have increased by 60% from
1993–1995, the assets that support increase of sales increased by 78% (Exhibit 1 & 2). The increase amount of assets is over the amount of net income
(addition to net worth). To meet financial needs, the company received short–term loans from bank, $60 in 1994 and $390 in 1995 (Exhibit 2). The
gross profit... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Second, the restriction of investment in fixed assets can be obstacle of the business growth. The property/sales ratio was stable around 20% from
1993–95 along with sales growth (Exhibit 2). It implies that the company kept investing to fixed asset. Therefore, I would ask bank to change this
requirement as; "If the company use the funds for business unrelated purpose, the lender has right to call immediately." If the company will not
take a full advantage of the trade discount, the company can keep their number of days purchases as 38.34 days. So, their expected account
payable is calculated by following; Average purchases per day = Annual purchases/ 365 days = 4,277 / 365 days = 11.72 Account payable =
Average purchase per day * number of days purchases = 11.72 * 38.34 = 449.26 Therefore, note payable to bank can be calculated through Balance
sheet (Exhibit 3) as $654 K. We assume that the interest rate is 11% of the note payable to bank but it causes the unlimited repeat of calculation.
We approximated the net worth with 1 iteration If the company will take a full advantage of the trade discount, company's number of days
purchases is 10 days. Account payable = average purchase per day * number of days purchases = 11.72 * 10 = 117.2 Therefore, the company have
to borrow around $1,006 K from the bank in order to take a full advantage of trade discount. In this case, the company need to increase the credit limit
over $1,000K. Question #5 As a financial

Notes on the Current State of the American Healthcare System
I. Introduction A. The current state of healthcare in the United States is in shambles. B. Recent reform measures are trying to reduce premiums and
extend coverage to Americans who need it, but are being blocked by special interests and lobbying from staunchly opposing Republicans in office. C.
As such, the financial situation here in the United States in regards to healthcare is only continuing to disadvantage millions as they wait for a
resolution and reforms that have been promised to them, sowing how a strong two–tiered system with a foundation in government sponsored universal
care would benefit the United States dramatically. II. Current Chaos of the Healthcare System A. Unfortunately today, healthcare costs are simply
much to high for many Americans to have access to affordable and good coverage. 1. The cost of healthcare in the United States is now one of the
most expensive out of countries from all over the world (Enterprise News 2012). 2. This has resulted in over 50.7 million Americans who are currently
uninsured (Cooper 2011). B. Private healthcare continued to increase premiums in the last few decades, which only further isolated good coverage
from the majority of Americans. 1. Many of these premiums are increasing because the current system is simply too costly. 2. Here, the research shows
that in many situations, healthcare professionals are urged to conduct unnecessary tests and procedures in order to rack up the bill for insurance claims

no less than one noteworthy issue. In your presentation you will likewise characterize the thought or issue of the content that you wish to look at in

  • 1. Digital Music Industry I. Introduction Many people are still perplexed how 'you are my love' (a very popular song on the internet in China) has become popular, which is also considered cheesy from the view point of some mainstream recording industries and organizations. According to Zhang, CEO of the Idol Entertainment Ltd, 'this represents neither a retrogression of society, nor a down step in terms of culture. It is normally a reflection of the current music market, which is to satisfy the consumers' demands fundamentally.' In fact, music online is currently receiving both profit and widespread acclaim, drawing lines with recording industry and traditional music profit modal (Zhang, 2006). This report aims to give knowledge about several evolutions... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Finally, the recording companies will distribute their record (Nirkind, 2003). However, the Internet has been a shortcut for recording songs and for recording companies, in other word, just as important as playing songs in a ranking list in radio stations. C. From monopoly to public The increasing popularity of web songs has helped to improve the music business. In contrast, the previous mode has been laggard because of the monopolization by a few major elite music companies (Zhang, 2006). Every music fan is currently fascinated with the dissemination of musical industry digital interface (MIDI) in producing his or her own music. In addition, if we say the MP3 player represents a revolution in terms of music dissemination, in that way, MIDI can be considered to be the delegate of a music revolution in music production (Kennedy, 2006). In the past, producing a song needs to be helped by other musicians and musical instruments costing at least 10,000 Yuan in China. Nowadays, depend on the advances of technology, the computer can uses musical industry digital interface to simulate all musical instruments almost at around 300 to 500 Yuan (Zhang, 2006), thus, a huge reducing cost in producing music. • 2. Essay on Expository Writing Lea Cherbaka Expository Writing Professor Joanne Sills January 26, 2010 Civil Mammals Violence has become a major problem in modern–day society. Gruesome video games and certain entertainment shows such as pro–wrestling has been exposing violence to kids that later on wish to emulate these actions. These actions are then publicized to the world by violent acts toward other species and human beings. In his article, "An Elephant Crackup," Charles Siebert depicts the violence that humans have done toward the elephant culture and how humans should put a stop to these acts and save elephants from extinction. With his strong defense on elephants, Siebert gives the reader a better ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is due to the fact that children are attached to their caretakers for a long period of time, just like elephants. If both species had empathy toward one another then young children from both man and pachyderm would receive appropriate guidance, therefore obtaining a better and healthier society. Humans must set an example for elephants by displaying positive behavior to eliminate the violence that can put both species at risk. In his article, Siebert describes the many violent attacks that elephants have done toward humans due to the captivity that humans have kept elephants under. The captivity toward elephants has emerged due to a lack of human empathy, which then causes elephants to rage more and engage in violent attacks. Gay Bradshaw, a psychologist at the environmental–sciences program goes further to distinguish relationships between humans and animals: "Where for centuries humans and elephants lived in relative peaceful coexistence, there is now hostility and violence. Now I use the term 'violence' because of the intentionality associated with it, both in the aggression of humans and, at times, the recently observed behavior of elephants (527)." The key phrase that Bradshaw states is the "peaceful coexistence" that humans and elephants used to have. Both humans and elephants are wild creatures and it is undeniably difficult for two extremes to make peace, especially ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Expository Writing Essay Expository Writing I really don't have any idea on where to start this paper, where it should go, and how it should end. It seems that I'm having a slight problem grasping the idea of expository writing. It's like when you were a kid trying to make it all the way across the monkey bars. You want to be able to reach that next rung and you try very hard, but somehow you just can't reach it. I seem to be having that problem. Right now, as I write, I'm not exactly sure I'm reaching the goal of this assignment, but this may be the best that it gets. All through elementary school, high school, and my freshman year of college, I was taught (and believed it was the only right way) that you must start your paper with a introduction, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I have a hard time concentrating on one thing. My mind always seems to wander from one thought to another. Right now, on this beautiful winter day (almost spring–like it seems), I have to wonder what I'm missing out on in life. The decisions I have made so far in my life has shaped who I will become and what I will accomplish. It is hard to imagine that something I did when I was five could play a major role as to where I am today. Kind of makes a person wonder, don't it? I am very unclear on what exactly expository writing is all about. I have come to understand theme writing, or should I say themewriting, throughout my life writing experiences. It is all I've ever known. Maybe all I ever want to know, but I guess it's a little late for that. It was what was expected from you by all who read and critiqued your papers. You may have not put anything into the paper that was part of you, but you included all that would explain your point and/or purpose for writing that paper. What techniques, styles, forms, and etc., can get you past the concept of themewriting? Is there one certain way you can propel yourself past this day to day writing that I have become so accustomed to? Do you accomplish this through clarity, voice, complexity or simplicity, or should it convey a meaning? This seems to be the difficulty that I am facing at this point in time. I feel as though I am uncertain on the steps or set of procedures that I should ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Decision Making Approaches I Introduction A job for a leader is to make decisions. Most managers or executives have to engage in some aspect of decision making including coming up with ideas, evaluative alternatives, or implementing directives (Brousseau et al., 2006). However, it could be a critical issue for decision makers to build up proper decisions in various situations. Hence, how to adopt suitable technique in decision making processes is a significant text for them. This essay firstly is going to discuss the benefits of automated decision making due to improvement of technology, such as effective quality and services. Yet, abundant limitations including environmental changes and professional shortages will be illustrated in the next part. Furthermore, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the thinking mode, executives can make decisions that are broadly defined and consist of multiple courses of action (Brousseau et al., 2006). Successful managers in organisations are more analytic in their style while they progress in their jobs (Brousseau et al., 2006). Further, Elbanna and Child (2007) prove that rationality has a positive relationship with organisational outcomes. Nonetheless, some constraints of rational decision making process should be pointed out. Firstly, in Brousseau et al. (2006) study, significant differences of global management culture are demonstrated. For instance, Americans stand apart in using a flexible thinking style more and more when they progress in their position, but the situation is reversed in Latin America. Thus, global management should be aware of differences in culture. Moreover, real–life decision making makes more sense than people think because so much of it is beyond conscious thinking (Mintzberg and Westley, 2001). Intuition To date, researchers have emphasised rational decision making processes rather than intuitive processes (Elbanna and Child, 2007). However, all the data or information in the world cannot trump the valuable experiences from lifetime that informs one's gut instinct, feeling as well as intuition (Matzler et al., 2007). Performance–enhancing drugs affect the body in different ways, such as enlarging muscles or increasing the blood's oxygen–carrying capacity. Despite these apparent benefits, the use of such drugs is considered both competitively unethical and medically dangerous. Most performance–enhancing drugs are outlawed by organizations that govern major amateur and professional sports. Some of these steroids include the male hormone testosterone (an androgen) and the female hormones estrogen and progesterone. Testosterone is responsible for many of the physical changes that occur to males during adolescence, such as deepening of the voice and increase in muscle mass. Even after adolescence, testosterone continues to influence a variety of male sexual and emotional processes. Derivatives of testosterone can be artificially produced in a laboratory. These steroids, first developed in the late 1930s, are commonly prescribed for medical reasons such as preventing the loss of bone density from osteoporosis or counteracting the body–wasting effects of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Weightlifters discovered the potential athletic benefits of steroids in the 1950s, and their use by top–level athletes spread in the ensuing decades. In 1991 congressional legislation made steroids a controlled substance in the United States, meaning they could only be obtained legally with a doctor's prescription. Despite this, the illegal use of steroids remained widespread among athletes seeking to gain strength and bulk up their bodies. Taken by injection or in pill form, performance–enhancing steroids work primarily by stimulating certain proteins involved in the building of muscle tissue. The result is an increase in the person's fat–free

We were forced to think outside the box and expand on ideas in our readings. In the beginning of the semester, I was not certain what to except from this course. Writing has never been my strong suit, early in the semester I struggled with the writings. In high school, English class was not my favorite subject causing me to not gain the knowledge I should have, coming into this course with a poor knowledge about expository and narrative writing. Overall I enjoyed this writing because it was based off a topic that I could relate to easily. I learned that if I organize my ideas prior to writing, it makes it a lot easily to write about. Reflection: The prompt of the reflection was to reflect on a topic and question it. I wrote about love and why it is that we love certain things. In my writing, I explained how individuals fall in love based off quality memories that they have of that a person, place, or thing. My purpose was to provide the reader with enough information to convince them that love is based off memories. The toughest challenge that I faced was finding enough information to support my claim. Through multiple hours of searching the web I was able to find enough information that supported my claim and was satisfied with my draft that was submitted. Introduction Osteomyelitis An infection of the bone or bone marrow .It can be usefully sub classified on the basis of the causative organism (pyogenic bacteria or mycobacteria), the route, duration and anatomic location of the infection. Especially in times of civil unrest or war or as a complication of surgical procedures such as open reduction and internal fixation of fractures which is the most common means of bone infection in children. Smooth muscles are used to control the flow of substances within the lumens of hollow organs, and are not consciously controlled. Skeletal and cardiac muscles have striations that are visible under a microscope due to the components within their cells. Only skeletal and smooth muscles are part of the musculoskeletal system and only the skeletal muscles can move the body. Cardiac muscles are found in the heart and are used only to circulate blood; like the smooth muscles, these muscles are not under conscious control. Skeletal muscles are attached to bones and arranged in opposing groups around joints. Muscles are innervated, to communicate nervous energy to, by nerves, which conduct electrical currents from the central nervous system and cause the muscles to contract. * Tendons A tendon is a tough, flexible band of fibrous connective tissue that connects muscles to bones. • 9. Expository Writing Class Analysis This semester in Expository Writing class, I learned ways that can make my writing precise and professional looking. Specifically, I learned to revise my writing by using two skills of RADAR revision: deleting and reading, and I demonstrated my understanding of these skills in personal statement number 1 and 2. The first skill I used is reordering. Using this skill I made my sentences more logical and made sure they flow well. In the draft of personal statement 11 I wrote, "I used to hear this phrase a lot in my childhood and, therefore, I wanted to experience it and for me experiencing it means growing up". When I revised I changed my sentence to read, "I always used to hear this phrase " stepping into real life". Thus , I wanted to experience it and for me experiencing it means growing up". This revision improved my personal statement because when I reordered my sentences, it made my writing precise and made more sense. In the sentence quoted above, I reordered three sentences into two. • 10. Expository Writing: The Start Of The Revolution Against... The seemingly basic act of writing is useful in more ways that one. Writing is how the United States started the revolution against England, people are transported through time and space to Middle Earth, and it allows for people to learn the horrors of the Holocaust through the eyes of a young girl. All of these things are made possible through writing. Writing is education, a job, a future. Even though there isn't an argument against the benefits of writing, regardless of the genre, writing is helpful in at least three crucial ways: healing injuries, lowering anxiety and bettering memory. The history of writing dates back to before Mesopotamia. With a past as long and changing as the history of writing, the history, nonetheless, is crucial. Writing was originally just paintings on cave walls but developed over time. The first form of writing was called cuneiform, which was created by making specific marks in wet clay using a reed like instrument (Mark). Sports Development in Singapore Much of Singapore's economic success has been attributed to its status as a world–class commercial and trading centre. In the past century, the government has focused most of the nation's policies to boost its economy and establish the country's reputation in the global market. • 13. Relationship Between Vocabulary And Reading Comprehension Purpose Research conducted by the National Reading Panel shows that there is a relationship between vocabulary and reading comprehension. The relationship between vocabulary and reading comprehension prompted researchers to recommend educators to identify students in the early grades with low language and vocabulary, and to intervene as soon as possible to prevent later reading comprehension difficulties. Once educators are awareness of the students that have low language and vocabulary, interventions should be implemented to target vocabulary development (p.308). A strategy identified to build vocabulary is read alouds. A read aloud is an oralreading done by the teacher that builds background knowledge, vocabulary and comprehension. Research shows that although read alouds enhance vocabulary it does not close the vocabulary gap. It is suggested that the addition of extended instruction in the form of a small group could close the vocabulary gap. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between small–group instruction and vocabulary development and reading comprehension. The author hypothesizes that students with low vocabulary and comprehension skills will improve from extended small–group instruction (p.309). Method The study included 106 first graders from 18 classrooms in nine Title I schools in the Pacific Northwest. Fifty–four students were in the experiment group and received small–group instruction, and fifty–two students were in the control group. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Play with the dolls. Wear a dress. You, cut your hair. Pink is for girls, you can't wear that! But why? Why is the expectation to stay inside our little boxes, while outside the glass such amazing things are waiting for us? You can't put someone in a box and expect them to be happy. Some people would rather kill themselves than live like that. And whose fault would that be? I think we know the answer. Employees suffering the effects of stress in the workplace tend to have bouts of absenteeism. A. Supporting evidence Absenteeism in the workplace is a major issue, with tangible and intangible costs. Although the absentee loses wages in the process, the major loss is at the expense of the employer. The ebrary book by Lynn Tylczak, (Attacking absenteeism 1990), describes the intangible costs of absenteeism as follows: "Absentee costs are difficult to quantify. Experts estimate direct wage loses of more than $30 billion per year, and that's just the beginning. Employers also need to consider the costs of supplementary or replacement workers. These costs include: Regular wages, overtime wages, and company benefits Supplementary benefits, such as Social Security, worker's compensation, and unemployment compensation Administration of recruitment, selection orientation, and training Penalty costs resulting from delays." The author (Lynn T. 1990) also gives the following explanation from the tangible cost of absenteeism: "It forces ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 30. Expository Reading And Writing Class In Fahrenheit 451 By... Literary Analysis Reflection In Expository Reading & Writing Class, we read the book Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. This book was to be the basis for our CSP project which had to do with analysis. This was because after reading F451 we need to create an essay that had to do with our character or theme. Besides just focusing on the book itself, we also looked into who Ray Bradbury was. While I was researching him I discovered a lot about him. I learned that Bradbury was an American fantasy and horror author most notably known for books such as Fahrenheit 451, Illustrated Man, and The Martian Chronicles. Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 is a dystopian novel centered around a future American society where critical thought is outlawed and books are burned. Ray was born in Waukegan, Illinois where he lived a relatively peaceful and happy childhood. While many argue that his book F451 was exploring the themes of censorship and conformity, Bradbury argued in 2007 that that was not the central themes of his story. Instead, he stated that his book was criticising how TV causes people to read less. In other words, TV discourages reading and thus critical thought. Even with his apparent distaste of TV, he ironically still advocated film adaptations of his works. In class, we also made posters about Bradbury during class in mini groups and I was in charge of writing the tone he takes in his book. Tone is an author's attitude towards a subject or audience. • 32. Gabriel Garcia Marquez's Short Story 'Sleeping Beauty on... I. Introduction Gabriel Garcia Marquez is not the first author to reinvent classic European fairy tales. Yet his short story "Sleeping Beauty on the Airplane," alternatively titled "The Plane of Sleeping Beauty" is a remarkable retelling of the Grimm Brothers' original "Briar Rose." The original story includes themes of jealousy, fate, and romantic love. Marquez abandons jealousy, as there is no evil queen spinning a trap for the princess. Therefore Marquez's "Sleeping Beauty on the Airplane" provides a unique lens for viewing and revisiting the Grimm Brothers' "Briar Rose." Marquez's story distorts the original fairy tale, highlighting the power of unrequited physical attraction between strangers. II. Body Paragraph: Introducing the Lens A. Summary: The narrator is a man traveling from Paris to New York. While waiting in line to check in, he spies "the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen in my life." The man proceeds to follow the woman, and fate would have it that he picked the seat right next to her. The woman sleeps the entire time on the plane, giving rise to the "sleeping beauty" motif. Unlike the original Briar Rose, though, the narrator never becomes her prince. He does not kiss her to wake her from the slumber, and they do not live happily ever after. Instead they barely speak. B. As a lens for Briar Rose, Marquez's "Sleeping Beauty on the Airplane" is told from the prince's perspective. Only for Marquez, the prince neither kisses nor wins over the heart of ... American realized they should learn the Japanese economy model of high levels of coordination between business and government, well–balance between stakeholders, highly trained workers as well as just–in–time method. However, in the 1990s, the flow has reversed with Japanese companies experienced pressures to adapt U.S– style corporate governance and market–oriented employment practice. U.S now enjoys macroeconomic success, generate millions of new jobs while Japan and Europe experienced slow growth and high level of unemployment. American model with flexible employment arrangements, shareholder sovereignty, decentralized companies recaptured the lead as slower–growing peers such as Japan and Europe regarding the model as the best. Generally, this two economies become more aware of each other, they compare themselves and more likely to adopt each other's practices, especially at the level of the industry in which they complete. For example, U.S investors are active in Japan, trying to persuade local executives to adopt U.S– style business practices, just as U.S policy makers have been urging the Japanese government to emulate American laws regarding trade, commerce and intellectual property. • 37. Clarkson Lumber I.Introduction Clarkson Lumber Company has been in growth during recent years and anticipated a further increase in sales. Despite of consistent profits, the company has suffered shortage of cash and borrowed fund needed for its business growth. Question #1 Increasing amount of borrowing despite of its consistent profitability came from following reasons. First is the firm's financial position. As sales have increased by 60% from 1993–1995, the assets that support increase of sales increased by 78% (Exhibit 1 & 2). The increase amount of assets is over the amount of net income (addition to net worth). To meet financial needs, the company received short–term loans from bank, $60 in 1994 and $390 in 1995 (Exhibit 2). The gross profit... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Second, the restriction of investment in fixed assets can be obstacle of the business growth. The property/sales ratio was stable around 20% from 1993–95 along with sales growth (Exhibit 2). It implies that the company kept investing to fixed asset. Therefore, I would ask bank to change this requirement as; "If the company use the funds for business unrelated purpose, the lender has right to call immediately." If the company will not take a full advantage of the trade discount, the company can keep their number of days purchases as 38.34 days. So, their expected account payable is calculated by following; Average purchases per day = Annual purchases/ 365 days = 4,277 / 365 days = 11.72 Account payable = Average purchase per day * number of days purchases = 11.72 * 38.34 = 449.26 Therefore, note payable to bank can be calculated through Balance sheet (Exhibit 3) as $654 K. We assume that the interest rate is 11% of the note payable to bank but it causes the unlimited repeat of calculation. We approximated the net worth with 1 iteration If the company will take a full advantage of the trade discount, company's number of days purchases is 10 days. Account payable = average purchase per day * number of days purchases = 11.72 * 10 = 117.2 Therefore, the company have to borrow around $1,006 K from the bank in order to take a full advantage of trade discount. In this case, the company need to increase the credit limit over $1,000K. Question #5 As a financial ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Recent reform measures are trying to reduce premiums and extend coverage to Americans who need it, but are being blocked by special interests and lobbying from staunchly opposing Republicans in office. C. As such, the financial situation here in the United States in regards to healthcare is only continuing to disadvantage millions as they wait for a resolution and reforms that have been promised to them, sowing how a strong two–tiered system with a foundation in government sponsored universal care would benefit the United States dramatically.
