Windows 8 and 8.1 installation process
introduction
• This step by step procedure will help us to know that how we
can install windows on our computer systems. We can install pro,
enterprise or basic versions of windows in our systems.
• Before installation we should have a look on our system
specification. Like windows 8 requires at least 1 GB RAM and about
25 GB of Hard drive space for installation.
Setup Start-up
• After confirmation of specification insert a CD or DVD into CD ROM or
DVD drive or any other drive which you have. Or we can boot from a USB
drive for installation. • After that restart the computer system and when
system restarts then press a key for boot menu. Different hardware
machines may have different keys for boot like • For DELL boot press F12
• For HP boot press F9
• For Sony F11 or F12 etc
Select Boot media
• After that a screen opens where system requires the boot source
from user.
• Select the boot media from options. If we have a USB drive then
select Removable disk from menu. Otherwise if we have a CD or DVD
then select that option from there and hit the ENTER key to start the
process.
• After selecting the boot media we see a rotating progress bar on
the screen it means that our setup has started.
• And we see the logo or icon of windows 8 on the screen.
Language Selection etc..
• After some time we see a screen where we have to select
• Language which we want to activate on our OS.
• Key board method like English(US), English(UK) etc..
Windows Installation
• After selection of language a screen opens where a button (having name
INSTALL) is shown. We want to install the windows so we hit or click that
button and installation starts.
Activated or non activated Windows
• If we have purchased a Windows disk then after clicking on the
install button an input bar open were we have to put the windows
activation key.
• If we have a crack version or pre-activated window then system will
not require anything from us.
License and installation
• After previous process a box open where company shows its detail
of license. At the left there is a check box, check it after reading the
terms mentioned above and hit next button.
• After that we have to chose whether we want to repair the windows
or install it. We have to install the windows so click on Custom
Windows installation and hit Next.
Customize or Upgrade
• We can use the expressed settings of windows or we can
customize the windows. If we are unsure then click below on the
read more botton ro get some help there.
Chose and format the partition
• After that we have to chose the partition where we want to install our
windows.
• If we want to make a new drive then click new and input your size of
partition.
• Otherwise click on partition where we want to install. By clicking, under
that box a menu bar will open where we click on format to format our disk
and to remove the files of previous windows.
• After formatting the drive our selected drive will show the free space.
• Just click it and hit the Next button.
Installation process
• Then installation process starts.
• Screen will show the progress bar.
• After some installation process system will restart and then after
auto restart system will continue the process automatically.
• After some time system will restart again and after restart system will show
the personalization bar and below will require the PC name. After typing
the system name hit the next button.
Sign up or sign in (optional)
• The next thing which we have to do is to sign in from our Microsoft
account.
• If we’ve not a Microsoft account then sign up there to create
account. We can also skip that step there but its better option to
create sign in by a Microsoft account.
• After that screen will start changing colors. Screen will change many colors
and will take some time so don’t worry there.
• After some time, finally windows will be installed on system.
