not for shameful gain, but eagerly; 3 not
domineering over those in your charge, but being
examples to the flock.

• James 1:22-23 But be doers of the word, and not
hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if
anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he
is like a man who looks intently at his natural face
in a mirror.

• Congregational love and genuine caring.
• The fellowship of the Lord’s church should be so sweet
and precious that the whole community should notice!
• John 13:35 By this all people will know that you are my
disciples, if you have love for one another.”

• John 11:36 So the Jews said, “See how he loved him!”

• Tender hearts! Ready and willing to help all.
• Galatians 6:9-10 And let us not grow weary of doing good,
for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. 10 So
then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone,
and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
• Ephesians 4:31-32 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger
and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with
all malice. 32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted,
forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

• Evangelistic fervor, a love for the lost
• Acts 5:42 And every day, in the temple and from house to
house, they did not cease teaching and preaching that the
Christ is Jesus.
• Jeremiah 20:9 Then I said, I will not make mention of
him,Nor speak any more in his name.But his word was in
mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones,And I
was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.
