3. 1. Economy
- The economy is good
The cost of living is low.
2. People/Culture
- The people are good
humble
generous
kind
honest
4. Why people in Thailand are better than
people in the Phlippines?
- Their culture is rooted in their religion.
- Philippines culture is also rooted in
religion.
Why are they better when Christianity is
teaching better and when we have the
truth?
6. Many who call themselves Christians are mere
human moralists. They have refused the gift
which alone could enable them to honor
Christ by representing Him to the world. The
work of the Holy Spirit is to them a strange
work. They are not doers of the word. The
heavenly principles that distinguish those who
are one with Christ from those who are one
with the world have become almost
indistinguishable. The professed followers of
Christ are no longer a separate and peculiar
people. The line of demarcation is indistinct.
The people are subordinating themselves to
the world, to its practices, its customs, its
selfishness. The church has gone over to the
world in transgression of the law, when the
world should have come over to the church in
obedience to the law. Daily the church is
7. There is a larger number who profess to
believe the truth for this time, who are
represented as hearing the sayings of
Christ and doing them not, than of those
who diligently hear and are doers of His
words. They do not endure temptation,
because their souls are not riveted to
the eternal Rock. They are hearers and
not doers of the word. Their religious
faith is represented by the house built
on the sand. The storms of temptation
come and it falls, because it is not built
upon the Rock. {1888 181.2}
8. James 1: 22-25
22But be ye doers of the word, and not
hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word
and not a doer, he is like a man
observing his natural face in a mirror;
24For he observes himself and goes
away and immediately forgets what kind
of man he was.
25But he who looks into the perfect law
of liberty and continues in it, and is not a
forgetful hearer but a doer of the word,
this one will be blessed in what he does.
9. Like the Rich Young Ruler in
Matthew 19:16-22
“There have been men in every
generation who have claimed to be
the sons of God, who paid tithes of
mint and anise and cumin, and yet
who led a godless life, for they
neglected the weightier matters of the
law—mercy, justice, and the love of
God.” {FW 116.1}
10. “There are today many who are in a
similar deception; for while bearing
an appearance of great sanctity,
they are not doers of the Word of
God. What can be done to open the
eyes of these self-deluded souls
except to set before them an example
of true piety and be ourselves not
hearers only but doers of the
commandments of the Lord, thus
reflecting the light of purity of
character upon their pathway?” {FW
116.2}
11. Are we like John or Judas?
John – was a living illustration of
sanctification
– was earnestly warring against his
own faults and seeking to assimilate to
Christ
Judas – possessed a form of godliness,
while his character was more satanic
than divine
– was violating his conscience,
yielding to temptation, and fastening
12. “These two disciples represent the
Christian world. All profess to be Christ’s
followers; but while one class walk in
humility and meekness, learning of
Jesus, the other show that they are not
doers of the word, but hearers only. One
class are sanctified through the truth; the
other know nothing of the transforming
power of divine grace. The former are
daily dying to self, and are overcoming
sin. The latter are indulging their own
lusts, and becoming the servants of
Satan.” {SL 60.1}
13. “When the cases of all come in review
before God, the question, What did they
profess? is never asked, but, What have
they done? Have they been doers of the
word? Have they lived for themselves?
or have they been exercised in works of
benevolence, in deeds of kindness, in
love, preferring others before
themselves, and denying themselves
that they might bless others?” {CS
129.1}
14. “If the record shows that this has been
their life, that their characters have
been marked with tenderness, self-
denial, and benevolence, they will
receive the blessed assurance and
benediction from Christ, “Well done,”
“Come, ye blessed of My Father,
inherit the kingdom prepared for you
from the foundation of the world.” {CS
129.2}
15. God calls to those who know His
will to be doers of the words.
16. I pray that when the people look at us
it will be like they are reading their
bibles because our lives reflect the
bible, reflect the will of God. And
when Christ comes He will say to us
“Well done, good and faithful
servant…” “Come, you blessed of
My Father, inherit the kingdom
prepared for you from the
foundation of the world.”
