MLB teams pay people salaries to work all summer rain or shine, practice or game to get the field
ready. The sheltered trees surrounding the outfield wall with thick green corn behind that led for a
stunning sight from the grandstand. As the grounds crew worked on the infield everyone would
catch a chill from the frigid air blowing in from left field that almost gave the sense of a brisk

I have always been fond of baseball cards. As a kid I would beg my parents for money to by a new
pack of cards so I could build my collection. At night I used to read the back of each player's card
and memorize all of their key stats. I have many complete collections sitting in my room and I
probably own around 10000 cards from card buying, gifts, and Goodwill exploring. I own many
exclusives such as a signed Pete Rose and a vintsage Willie Mays.Both cards are worth about 150

In order to "get back" at Keith for the CWS trip, I play a good– natured joke on him each year.
Where and when Dad and I go to the ballparks, are kept secret from my brother. Then, when we get

"Let's play ball!" That's how every Saturday in the month of November began as each team went to
their dugout. Disabled adults and children divided out by age groups, so that the children would not
be endangered by heavy hitters. Players that were anxious to begin as it was the first time they
experienced a baseball field made out of a rubber surface that prevented injuries. The hot sun
beating down against the player's, but smiles on their faces that made it seem that they forgot about
their disabilities. Volunteering for Miracle League as a buddy has made it a memorable experience
because of the friendly environment, the appreciation from the players, and the happiness each
player exhibits while playing baseball. For one thing, players arrived around nine o'clock; checking
in with Mrs. Adela to ensure every player had a buddy. Mrs. Adela was one of the coordinators to

Mariano Rivera's wife, Clara, got news that two family members died at a pool accident. What

Historically, when sports teams move into a city it bring the influence of sports, and gets the
community more involved. After the Cold War, US officials wanted to make young men stronger to

A real life "Field of Dreams" undoubtedly describes this ballpark. More than likely, some of
baseball's greats will not magically appear from a corn field to play baseball with you; the true

I love watching baseball.
Growing up, my favorite days of summer were spent in the red plastic seats of Fenway Park,
holding a dripping cone of soft–serve, belting out the lyrics to "Sweet Caroline" alongside my
family. Regardless of my appreciation for baseball, I never played baseball, softball, or t–ball,
instead, opting to watch the game from the sidelines. My infatuation with watching baseball,
coupled with my involvement in my school's Global Certificate Program, sparked my desire to host
a baseball student from Tennoji High School in Osaka, Japan. Initially, I joined the Tennoji
Exchange planning board, planning field trips across Massachusetts––most of them baseball
