2. Glorious Wings on Dancing Wind
The Beat of Feathers Strong
To Her Will the Call Shall Bend
For Her to Never do Wrong
Memories Each a Guiding Hand
For the Ever Young Eaglet
Time is Naught But Gathered Clay
To Will and Morph When Needed
3. And Mother Earth, she sighs and moans
A Plead with The Young Born Glider
“Return to Me, Proud Bearer of Life
So We May Grow and Be All The Wiser.”
“Nay I Fly,” The Eagle Cries
“With Wings So True and Strong!
And Never Shall I Crawl Again
Or Listen to Your Song!”
4. “You May Fly Now, So Strong and True
But Heed My Words of Wisdom!
For Now You May Touch the Sky
But Death Shall Take Your Freedom!”
“So Return to Me,” She Cried and Plead
“So That You May Bare and Grow,
Or Remain There Within the Skies
And Reap Just What You Sow!”
5. The Eagle Thought and Pondered
Upon These New Found Doubts
“If I Return and Bare and Grow
Will I Be Able to Fly About?”
“Of Course You Will!” Earth Exclaimed
“With Freedom Just as Much,
I Simply Need Your Contact Child
A Simple Landing and a Gentle Touch!”
6. And so the Eagle Landed
Upon the Branch So Strong
And the Flowers Bloomed and Flared
And Earth Began her Song
Once More the Eagle Returned
To the Sky So Gentle and Free
And She Guided and She Helped
Her Own Eaglets of Three
7. Why did you choose this poem?
This poem was written when I felt cooped up. I
needed freedom and then suddenly, somewhere in the
midst of the end of the poem, I remembered that the
real world existed and we all had to face our own
responsibilities.
8. What does the poem represent?
Freedom. Whenever I think of freedom I can't
help but think of birds and how they're not limited by
stop signs or cross walks. They don't have to worry
about stop lights or other cars. They can go wherever
and whenever they like. They really are the masters of
freedom.
