“If I Return and Bare and
Grow

Upon the Branch So Strong
And the Flowers Bloomed
and Flared

7. Why did you choose this poem?
This poem was written when I felt
cooped up. I needed freedom and
then suddenly, somewhere in the
midst of the end of the poem, I
remembered that the real world
existed and we all had to face our
own responsibilities.
8. Freedom. Whenever I think of
freedom I can't help but think of
birds and how they're not limited by
stop signs or cross walks. They
don't have to worry about stop
lights or other cars. They can go
wherever and whenever they like.
