The document provides a history of San Lorenzo Ruiz Diocesan Academy located in San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija, Philippines. It was established in 1989 with only a nursery class of 43 students. Over the years, it grew to include complete pre-elementary, elementary, and high school classes under the leadership of several priests and lay leaders. In 2010, Rev. Fr. Elmer S. Villamayor was installed as the director of six Catholic schools, including San Lorenzo Ruiz. He introduced reforms to improve education and employee conditions. The school aims to produce graduates who are honest, trustworthy, loving of the Church, and committed to transforming society.
2. San Lorenzo Ruiz Diocesan Academy is located at the back of St. Bartholomew the
Apostle Parish Church, and was formerly a town plaza. It was established on June 19, 1989
by Ret. Rev. Msgr. Felix Hernandez, the Parish Priest of St. Bartholomew the Apostle
Parish Church with Nursery class only. There were only 43 students enrolled, but in the
succeeding years, the population increased until there were complete classes in the Pre-
Elementary, Elementary and High School.
With the fast changing development in our educational system and through the
leadership of several priests that had been directors of the school such as Rev. Fr. Arturo O.
De Guzman, Rev. Fr. Mike Adriosula, Rev. Fr. Noel Jetajobe, and Rev. Fr. Jun Gregorio and
other lay leaders, the school continued to grow and centered in adapting and promoting the
basic innovations in the revised Basic Education Curriculum in all subject areas, thus
strengthening the social, moral and cultural values needed in the transformation and
renewal of our society towards national pride, discipline, unity and worthy recognition of
being the only Catholic School in the municipality of San Leonardo, N.E.
3. In September of 2010, Rev. Fr. Elmer S. Villamayor was installed as the Director of six
(6) Catholic schools in southern portion of Nueva Ecija which includes San Lorenzo Ruiz
Diocesan Academy. Through his initiative, the Dynamic Learning Program was introduced
and implemented in the cluster schools. Among his major accomplishments, aside from the
above, are: revision of the salary scheme, provision of fringe benefits or de minimis
purposely to improve employee living conditions and boost their morale.
It is our fervent hope and prayer that through the collective efforts of the school, the
community and the Parish, our School will continuously stand with pride, committed and
effective in producing a breed of new young people: honest, trustworthy, loving the
Church, leading others to Christ, nurturing positive relationship, aiming for excellence all
geared towards transforming lives for God and society
