3. letter from the president
Dear SCCS Family,
We have had a wonderful year. It seems hard to
believe that only five years ago we were a
start-up school with four kindergarten students
and one teacher in a single classroom of Seattle
First Presbyterian Church. Since then we have
added more grades and hired additional superb
teaching staff. We have developed art, music,
and PE programs that help cultivate well-round-
ed students. We have launched a brand new
website to better serve our current and prospec-
tive families. And this fall we were able to
welcome Luke Davis as our first full-time head-
master.
We have accomplished these things through wise stewardship of resources,
prayerful consideration and, above all else, abundant grace from God. As a
board and as a school, we can feel the subtle but steady transition of SCCS
from a start-up endeavor to a thriving school in the heart of the city. We
thank you for your past support and invite you to look with us to the future
as we continue to grow, mature and build a new kind of school in the city of
Seattle.
In Christ,
Lara Rickard
President of the Board

11. portrait of a graduate
We aim to graduate young men and women who think clearly and listen
carefully with discernment and understanding, who reason persuasively and
articulate precisely, who are capable of evaluating their entire range of experi-
ence in light of the Scriptures, and who do so with eagerness in joyful submis-
sion to God.
We aspire to find them well prepared in all situations, possessing both infor-
mation and the knowledge of how to use it. We desire that they be socially
graceful and spiritually gracious, equipped with the tools of learning, desiring
to grow in understanding, yet fully realizing the limitations and folly of worldly
wisdom.
We expect that graduates are imbued with the unique benefits of attending a
school located within the heart of the city: that they possess a growing aware-
ness of a wide range of people and their unique perspectives, that they would
be engaged in the fine arts, and that they would appreciate the collective
aspects that make up a given culture. Moreover, we desire them to recognize
worldly influences as distinct from biblical ones and to be steadfast in their
pursuit of good.
We desire that they have hearts that have been wholly transformed by the
Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our hope is that they are joyful believers, eager and
equipped to courageously share the gospel with those who are stumbling
toward destruction. We desire that they possess all of these things with a
demonstrated character, humble attitude and a servant’s heart that seeks to
glorify God in all things.
