should say something positive, correct the skill that needs attention, and end with another positive

In a Smithsonian article by Matthew Shaer, titled "The Controversial Afterlife of King Tut", he
mentions that Zahi Hawass and his team noticed a break in his lower left femur seemed different
than the breaks made by Carter. The break was ragged rather than sharp. This suggests that it was
broken when he was alive. In the same article, Shaer also says that they noticed two layers of
embalming material in the wound. History.com talks about how nobody knew that wounds needed
to be kept clean so the wound would become infected with gangrene causing the leg to triple in size

have been caused by an accident involving a chariot, an animal, or both while hunting. Not much
can contradict the evidence put forth proving that he must have died due to an infection in his lower

Essay about I Wanted to Share My Father’s World
Although single parenthood is on the rise in homes today, children still often have a father role in
their life. It does not matter who the part is filled by: a father, uncle, older brother, grandfather, etc...;
in almost all cases, those relationships between the father (figure) and child have lasting impacts on

Moreover, in this first stanza, Carter is perhaps saying the "need" for a father in general is a
necessity, a basic human right, and all children deserve "a word of praise" every now and then.
However, in the following stanzas, Carter changes his tone and tense to show how he felt growing
up with his father. He states, "I despised the discipline / he used to shape what I should be" (7–8).
This shows Carter, even though he disliked the means of reprimand his father implemented,
understands his father's ways were to help him become the man he "should be." Through this
insight, Carter says, "not owning up that he might feel / his own when he punished me" (9–10). This
is possibly saying not only did he bear the chastisement, but his father sensed the "pain" as well. Yet
again, maybe Carter has a deeper message and is saying fathers and their children share the same
troubles and triumphs. In addition, Carter remembers how he "didn't show [his] need to him, / since
his response to an appeal / would not have meant as much" (11–13). Furthermore, he states "his
response," (12) "would not have... / ...been as real" (14). Telling such a harsh reality, Carter contrasts

Hi everyone! This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending The North Texas Teen Book Festical
in Irving, TX. It was so much fun, and honestly it was one of the best weekends of my life. This post

Friday
Friday was educator 's day, but they had an author luncheon that was open to the public. The authors
at the luncheon were Sarah Dessen, Ruta Sepetys, and E. Lockhart. I met up with my friend, Avery,
to go to the event. As we were sitting in the lobby, we saw Marie Lu walk in and I started freaking
out. I wanted to go and ask for a picture, but I was too shy to go up to her. We went inside and sat at
a table close to the front (closest to the reserve author table).
As we were sitting there, I look in the corner and Ruta Sepetys (AKA ONE OF MY FAVORITE
AUTHORS) is standing in the corner. Avery and I went over to talk to Ruta, and she was absolutely
adorable. If you ever have the chance to meet Ruta, please seize your opportunity because she 's

The second form that Dr. King talks about is hatred and violence. This is another method that he
disagrees with. King explains how violence only creates temporary results and creates more
complicated problems in the future. As a minister and deep believer in peace, King refused to accept
this way. He also believed that this form will only bring injustice to future generations. He explained
how violence today will bring chaos tomorrow. An excellent statement made by Dr. King to
disprove this method is, "The old law of an eye for an eye leaves everybody blind".
The third, and final, way that Marther Luther King Jr., talked about was nonviolent resistance. This
form of dealing with oppression was strongly supported by King. He believed that the oppressed
must consider the benefits of both methods, acquiescence and aggressiveness. A line that best
describes my statement is "...the principle of nonviolent resistance seeks to reconcile the truths
of two opposites–the acquiescence and violence–while avoiding the extremes and immoralities of
both." King believed that this was the best method and in order for it to be successful the

Edward Sheehan, the author of "How Kissinger Did It: Step by Step in the Middle East," explains
that "...Kissinger accepted and in fact helped to promote the conventional strategic wisdom of the
first Nixon administration that...a strong Israel militarily, much superior to its Arab foes, would

The 1980 presidential election of the United States featured three primary candidates, Republican
Ronald Reagan, Democrat Jimmy Carter and liberal Republican John Anderson. Ronald Reagan was
the governor of California before he decided to run for the presidency. John Anderson was a
representative in Illinois and Carter was the incumbent. The lengthy Iran hostage crisis sharpened
public opinions by the beginning of the election season. In the 1970s, the United States were

Elliot Cook Carter, Jr. is an American classical composer. He was born on December 11th, 1908 into
a wealthy family of lace importers, in Manhattan, New York. He became involved in music initially
as a teen, and was encouraged in this regard by family friend Charles Ives, who was also a
composer. At the age of 15, he had the opportunity to sit in the audience of the Boston Symphony
Orchestra's New York Premiere of The Rite of Spring. It was then 1924; the experience would prove

Carter received his undergraduate degree in English at Harvard University, but he also studied music

ideas that stand tall on the stage of democracy. This is why song lyrics should be considered one of

As a listener who lives in the twenty–first century, where cases of legal dishonesty and fraud are
quite rare, I find myself sympathising with Rubin Carter and resenting the heartless and ignorant
attitude possessed by 1960s America and society. In retrospect, I am extremely grateful that a fair
and just trial is now available to everyone, regardless of skin colour. When the song comes to an
end, the image painted in the listener's mind is that of injustice and tyranny, encouraging social

Ancient Egypt was my favorite topic in social studies. As far back as I could remember. I have
always been interested, especially since Egypt is a neighboring country to Libya, my second home.
The world is still fascinated, and intrigued by its mysteries. Who build the pyramids? How were
they built by? One of the most asked questions were. Who was King Tut? Was there really a curse?
King Tutankhamen took reign at the very young age of nine, after his father Akhenaten's death in
1322 B.C. Although his short reign of around ten years accomplished very little. The discovery of
his tomb in 1922 has led to many discoveries. He was once almost unknown and now is one of the
most well–known. He was well known for his curse on who ever disturbs his tomb. I believe the
curse is fake. The curse was actually used to sell more newspapers and protect the tomb from
robbers.
It all began, On Feb. 171923. A crowd of invited archeologists and Egyptian dignitaries, were
gathered in the Valley of the Kings. They were there to view the uncovering of King Tutankhamen's
burial chamber. The outer rooms were filled with treasures, Egyptian art, and furnishings. But

competition was between incumbent Democratic President Jimmy Carter and his opponent, former

Not all believed in the curse of King Tut and what it did. Other did however find many reasons to
believe in it. It is hard to decide which side of the story to believe, because both sides do have the
evidence to make a case on each side. The Curse of the Pharaohs actually started in the 19th century,
but it really came into focus around the 20th century with the expedition of King Tut's tomb, but
there is still conflict about whether it's real or just fiction.

Ancient Egyptians did have curses, although they are usually in the form of threats and occur mainly
of citizens rather than royalty. A observation may indicate that royalty had protection against their
enemies through other sources (Silverman). Most of the curses came from inscriptions on walls in
the private tombs of the Old KIngdom, during the time when royal tombs were decorated with a set
of spells called Pyramid Texts that were meant as directions for the king (Silverman). It's rare for
curses to relate to tombs, because such an idea was unthinkable and even dangerous ("The Curse of
the Pharaohs"). Curses that have been seen in the headlines are rarely ever true. Egyptians did in fact
understand the power of negative thinking and their curses are far from a mystery (Silverman).
"Their suggestive remarks were those who might act against them and it was accomplished in
written word, so in aspects of Egyptian culture the curse would survived as long as the monument

he's shown certain ability for creating a vision and finding ways to see that vision come to pass. An

looked into the countries that surrounded Iran and saw them as potential "bullies" towards Iran and,
in turn, the United States and its assets. At this point, the Shah was the primary figurehead and there

In most cases, the United States just turned a blind eye and gave the Shah the weapons that he
needed to stay in power, since he was U.S. backed. The SAVAK, the Shah's secret police, was
exposed by The Washington Post was a major concern for many Americans and the continued arms
sales to Iran. During this time, another Iranian topic that frequented the news was the decline of the
economy and the impact that it had on oil, especially the oil that was exported to the United States.
The Shah began to realize that the stories on Iran were becoming increasingly more negative
throughout the 1970s prior to the revolution and the crisis. Because of this, he made all western
journalist submit their ideas, topics, agendas, itineraries, etc. to the Iran government before they
were approved to enter the country. If the reporters wanted to talk about something that was a little
too confrontational and provocative, they would not be granted entry.
Throughout the revolution that began in 1978, most western countries, especially America did not
fully understand the magnitude of the movement and how it would affect the outcome of the
