In what ways does your media product use, develop
or challenge forms and conventions of real media
products?
My media product uses allot of the conventions of a
normal music magazine by changing the ideals and
purposes of them to prove this I have collected the
main features of my own magazine and compared it to
the magazine.
This also changes the way that we see music
magazines for seeing the reasons magazines put
pictures and items to allow us to notice them and
recognise the magazine as official and popular
magazine without us actually reading the magazine at
all.
4. “Q”
This is the

The

5. Love of lyrics
I believe my magazine challenges the usual conventions of a
music mag in many ways
The formatting The full stretched top
and construction of the page masthead
is a convention a constant and
common occurrence in
that does follow all music and other
the usual settings magazines so will be
as is has been recognised and noticed

sections and
clearly has two

9. How does your media
product represent
particular social groups?
10. 2
How does your media product represent particular
social groups?
I have been reviewing Q magazine which I have
changed to suit girls of the same area , race and
social class witch is British coke Asian middleclass
aged 14 to 18 as this was an open and un targeted
area of the public with a reasonable amount of
money and influence on others in their category .
This age gender and class is really the prime time
to try and influence and steer them to go onto
having a meaningful relation ship with music and
then profit from it which is what organisations like
MTV and Kerang TV has already been doing for a
very long period in time.
Another scheme that companies like that do is to
influence he audience to feel that they need to be
up to date and if not they are becoming out of
touch which to people of a young age is a over
exadurated but unpleasant feeling of unreliability
to there peers in the cut trout world of high school
11. what kind of media institution
might distribute your media
product?
12. 3
I think that the institution that really would
produce my company in todays world would
be the same company that produced Q
magazine baurer media group as this would
be an opportunity for the company to control
more of the music magazine industry as it
already owns other teen magazines including
FHM, EMPIRE, Karrang, MOJO and of cores Q
magazine so for Bauer to do this would be a
wise and profitable investment.

13. Who would be the audience for
your media product?
14. 4
Who would be the audience for your media
product?
My precise target audience would be
Gender : Female
Age : 14-16
Race : British white/asian
Class: Middle-Upper class
location : central-north England
Education : Average-above Average high
school student
Other cross audience may occur
16. 5
How did you attract/address your audience
By already having the magazines music genre linked closely with
the target audience's likes and interest's in music having the
artist and types of music that is already advertised furiously
directed at them and using the conventions of already established
music magazines and allowing the groups of people in Britain who
buy music magazines to see the a format that they would
recognize and instantly remember and relate to music they
already know and love subconsciously. Once if have allowed them
to know what my magazine is my plan would then be to make my
title and logo and theme easily identifiable in the same way that
companies like Nike and Facebook do until you would now know
the logo automatically without any other information which is
what I would then do with advertising having bands and artists
have my logo in the back ground or them reading the magazine
in public small thing that will create subliminal links from your
favorite band to this product
17. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process
of constructing this product?
18. 6
I have now become familiar with professional editing
software’s such as InDesign CS4 and Photoshop.
Creating this magazine improved my confidence as I
am aware and more experienced in creating.
Photoshop was an impressive software which
supported me with a wide range of tools to transform
my images into quality photographs.
InDesign CS4 had the capability and features needed
to help me design a magazine.
They were hard to use at the start as there was many
tools and options, however after couple of tutorial
sessions I was more familiar with the softwares
19. Looking back at your preliminary
task, what do you feel you have
learnt in the progression from it to
the full?
20. 6
Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt
in the progression from it to the full?
Looking back I do feel I have learnt allot about the process in making the
final product about the way that established magazines use themes to
make you feel comfortable and how they use money and sex appeal in
magazines to make the people in the magazine to feel better than you
and desirable making you idealise normal slightly talented people and
how the entire use of cameras light and special FX /Photoshop really does
make a difference seen as we look at the preliminary and finished task
pictures and how the publishing of many thought to be different and
opposing products are done by the same few big companies in many
cases ,this is a way of companies cornering the market and taking in all
the money which ever you pick. I learnt about the amount of work and
effort put into the simplest looking way the companies organise the pages
in a magazine to constantly relate and remind you of the individual
magazine. and that even misfits who are trying to be an individual have a
large place in the market and are still being targeted and the way in
which advertising is done in magazines are done for example that one on
the second page and the back cover are the most expensive and why.
But mostly I learnt about the effect of the magazines conventions and
that we d relate these small thing like the from page being cut into the for
guide lines and that if this small look is not kept thing can look wrong and
unappealing to us with out us even realising why
