Descriptive Essay About Personal Experience
Fear, guilt, happiness, and anger are emotions which individuals can be struck with at the most
unexpected time, but as human beings, we have experienced all of these feelings a plethora of
times over the course of life. Emotions and feelings are the results of one's actions that lead to
situations. The way an individual acts, speaks, or even discerns can lead to circumstances and
ultimately trigger emotions, which in the end, possibly provide you with a valuable lesson.
The glorious summer of 2008 resulted from the sun and air's collaboration to fulfill my desire to
have balmy weather. The trees composedly swayed while the neighborhood kids played and giggled
around them, and their parents prepared for work. In the midst of this, I woke...show more content...
I got very restless as she opened for business, since I didn't know how to spend my time, I lead my
feet to the coolers located on the far opposite side of the checkout area that were filled with
different types of waters and juices. Although I was tempted to pick out a juice, I chose a
strawberry flavored water, and I decided to save the juice for later. With my drink, I happily walked
to the candy aisle that was in between the tobacco and cigarette aisles. My eyes couldn 't locate the
KitKat wafers, my all–time favorite chocolate bar. As a result, I dragged myself back to the comfort
of my chair empty handed. I felt like a sportsperson who just came home defeated from a
championship game. My eyes ogled at the rack, from a great distance, while my heart wept and
yearned for the treat. My mind, the biggest asset of my body, told my muscles to reevaluate the
aisle. With a small ray of hope buried deep in my heart, I swiftly and carefully ran to the rack and
inspected the candies again. The nervousness on my face made me lethargic as I inspected each of
the boxes of candies. After a thorough investigation, I finally found a large box filled with the
sweet and savory Kitkats hiding on the bottom shelf of the rack. My over excited heart started
celebrating, while my mind remembered to seek permission. With my childlike innocence, I
approached my mom and asked her by faking a naive look,

So, there I sat, seat G4 on the train headed to nowhere. I didn't have a destination; I never really
did. I guess that's just the type of person I was, someone who just hopped on a train for the ride. I
always liked trains. I don't know what it was about them, but for some reason or another, I always
found myself lounging in the same spot drinking hot cocoa. People always said that hot chocolate
"was only for kids" but I never got that; I had a pretty strong distaste for coffee. Honestly, I hate it,
the way it makes your teeth gritty to the point where you need something else to drink. I can't even
enjoy a cup unless it's lighter than my own skin tone, which, by the way, is pretty pale. I mean I
wouldn't call myself pasty but... Anyhow, it...show more content...
My mother raised me right, so I understood how wrong this was, but don't worry, nothing I had been
thinking was going to leave my thick skull. Most of the people on the train were older women with
their children, but next to me was a man. His eyes, like mine, matched his hair in blackness.
However creepy, I always found this feature refreshing, in the way that one finds a black cat. I
named this man Frank and created a story for him when another man caught my eye. It was his
coat. It was an expensive Ted Baker peacoat which was impressive for how young he was. I
worked out frequently and could tell by his body that he had been skipping leg day. His chest,
however, was ridiculously huge, almost as if it wasn't even real. My eyes drifted towards the
right of the train. I began to critique a young blonde when the man with the jacket began to walk
in my direction. He was walking fast, darting straight to the bathroom when his coat flap floated
up. I couldn't believe what I saw; it looked like a homemade bomb strapped to his chest. Spending
the next few minutes convincing myself that what I just saw wasn't what I thought it was, I began
to panic. Next thing I know, he's busting out of the bathroom with a gun and I was forced to
prepare for what was going to happen next. It didn't take long for everybody on the train to panic.
It rushed through each row as the sobs and cries made their way to every passenger. It was an
orchestra of agony and it

Descriptive Essay About Myself
I find it extremely tough to talk about myself and my personal traits. In order for me to dIscuss
who I am in an accurate manner then I must provide some basic background information on
myself and talk about the Environment I grew up in. This way people can get a better
understanding of why I am the way I am. My Background is so essential In making me myself
because If I had been born under any different circumstances or grew up any differently I would be
a different person than I am today. I was born inAberdeen Scotland but raised in Fort Bend County
Texas. Aberdeen and Fort Bend both have great opportunities but differ in many ways. One way in
which they differ is that Fort Bend is very culturally diverse while in Aberdeen most of...show more

Her family communicates to one another using spanish or sometimes english. I have always
grown up in a family that speaks only english so I find it interesting to go over to other people's
houses and hear them communicating in another language. On top of all of this meeting different
people has also opened my mind to new ideas. For example, in school when we work in group
projects we collaborate and communicate with people who think differently than us then work
together to figure out whose ideas will work the best and how to improve them.
Another factor that plays a part in why I am shaped how I am is my family's economic
circumstances. I have always had access to anything I needed and for that I have extreme
gratitude because I know some people have a lot of difficulty in life. Since I was born into a
family with such good economic circumstances I have been lucky to have lots of opportunities.
One Opportunity I had as a child was participating in taekwondo. I did taekwondo until I reached a
blackbelt which took years of hardwork and dedication. I had to memorize forms, Spar with other
competitors and break boards in order to continue to move up to the next level. Taekwondo also
helped keep me in good shape and fit when I was younger. Another Opportunity I am grateful for is
the skill of playing the piano. At first I was not all that enthusiastic about playing it but my parents

Descriptive Essay On Anxiety
Generalized anxiety is a disorder in which a person has normally tense, uneasy, and feels very on
edge more often than not. I have always had a bit on anxiety with being near and/or around people,
I have never felt completely comfortable around anyone and often feel uneasy and nervous about
everything, but during my last year of middle school my anxiety got tremendously worse with the
stress of school. During my 8th grade year I was going to a college prep academy that came with an
incredible amount of stress for a thirteen–year–old. As the school year went on I would get more and
more homework and assignments. On average, I would come home with about four hours of
homework that would be due the next day, eventually the stress and overwhelming amount of
work became hard to handle and I started becoming more and more worrisome and uncomfortable
in public. As the school year went on I just became extremely nervous and uncomfortable about
everything, scared to move in front of people, scared to get up and sharpen a pencil, my hands
were more often than not sweaty and gross feeling which just made me even more nervous because
what if for some reason someone would need to touch my hand. I felt uncomfortable around friends
that I had known and gone to school with for years. I eventually stopped going out at all and just
stayed home, I wouldn't go out to eat with my parents nor would I go out with friends or anything. I
started becoming very secluded from everyone. Eventually my

Descriptive Essay About My Mother
No matter how hard life gets for me and how chaotic things can become there has always been one
person that I can turn to, my mom. She's been a wealth of advice to call on when I'm clueless and
a shoulder to cry on when I'm down. Her compassion for others inspires me to be a better person
as does the guidance she has given me over the years. She's not afraid to give me a reality check
and to tell me the things I don't want to hear even though I need to. She keeps me grounded and
teaches me to appreciate the smaller things in life. Even though my dad was still involved in my life
after my parents split up it was my mother who I primarily lived with and it was her who had the
greatest influence on my life growing up. Anyone who has known my...show more content...
Heaven help you if you do anything to endanger her family. My mom also does not go soft on her
kids; she can be a formidable disciplinarian when she wants to and will not hesitate to set us
straight when we broke the rules. She won't let anybody walk over her and is really quick to anger
if you try. My mother is strong–willed and stubborn; when she sets her mind to something almost
nothing will stop her and what an impossible feat it is to change her mind on something. She is
very impatient; when she wants something done she wants it done at this very moment, no later.
She is idealistic and she enjoys the simpler things that life has to offer. She loves nature and would
love nothing more than to be living in a cabin in the mountains while listening to country music.
She does not pay much attention to news happening outside her local area and prefers to focus on
what's happening in her immediate area. From my mother I have learned how to be the person that
I am today. Through her I have learned the importance of family and that it is paramount to spend
time with them while I still have it. Even now I try to spend time with my family when I have the
opportunity to. Form her I have learned compassion for those around me and for animals. Even

Descriptive Essay About Sadness
Sadness. Some people will say they learned how to drive this summer, or they learned how to
waterski. But I learned what sadness is.
My mum and I spent two weeks with my grandfather and grandmother this summer. I knew my
grandfather's health was failing. I knew he wasn't doing well. But I had absolutely no conception
of how bad it was. He couldn't take ten steps without yelping in pain. He couldn't do much of
anything by himself. Those two weeks were spent helping my grandparents any way I possibly
could, carrying my grandfather 's walker places, and playing endless games of scrabble with him.
My grandfather is the best scrabble player I have ever met. Every time I had visited him, we had
played at least once a day and he would beat me...show more content...
My eyes were clouded over and I just kept hearing the words that the principal had said over and
over again. He had passed away. I didn't even know him well, but the idea that he could just be gone
terrified me. Now it was happening to my grandfather.
"How can someone just be gone?" I pleaded with my mum, but probably more with God than her.
"How can someone be here one day, and then gone the next?' Tears began to fill my eyes and
cloud my vision. "How is it that someone dies when their body fails them? How is it that one day
Grandad will be gone, and I won't be able to talk to him anymore, or call him, or play scrabble with
him? It's just not fair!"
I collapsed into tears while my mum pulled over. We just sat there for a while, both hugging each
other and crying our eyes out. There was so much sadness in me. It was like a black hole,
swallowing me up from the inside. It was an intense form of grief that I had never felt before. I
would cry and feel my whole body shaking, tears coming out of my eyes, but my soul also gasping
inside of me, trying to throw out that black hole, but instead getting consumed.
My mum's face streamed with tears. "I feel the same way," she whispered before falling into heart
wrenching sobs, the same sobs that had been haunting me for months, as she had been crying over

Descriptive Essay About Being A Woman
It was a frigid Tuesday morning, dim light of the sun was shining from millions of miles away
brightening my day with its sparkling lights. I walked to my 76 years old grandma (Maya) house
through thin and spiky grass, giving me an unbearable feeling in my foot. As I got to my
grandma's house looking pale and a goof with cold frosty air coming out of my mouth, ringing
the bell on her door, she finally opened it. Then, she gave a tight hug with a big surprise in her face
of the joy of seeing me after a month. Her squeeze gave a feeling of warmth where I lost track of my
self–feeling safe and comfortable like a perfect dream. It had melted all my stress and gave me a
calm atmosphere of delights. As I enter her dark and cozy room, seeing many traditional types of
furniture, it had made me feel like I was living my life in the old days. Her bed felt super soft like
clouds, and I could not help myself sitting on that bed and talking with her about her life
experiences as being a woman. As we sat, she asked, "So, what brings you here today after so
long?" I was in excitement to see myself through her words of her life experiences from her
childhood. As I asked her many questions that involved gender roles of being a woman, she looked
serious with a question mark on her face. We pause for seconds; it was dead quiet, and all I could
hear is the tick–tock of an old cranking sound of a clock. She then responded, "Being a girl, I lived
in a farm–like house, it was a muddy and dirtiest place that no one can imagine living in there
today." Her response had made me terrified because of the description of the condition and the
environment she had lived during her childhood. "My brothers had gone to school while I stay
home with my mother helping her do chores and clean up animals stool, the worst smell God ever
had created." she continued, with shame on her face. I was angrily surprised to hear how much
differentiate her family kept in the gender role of her being a female. In my life, I have never
experienced or seen such a dreadful situation like how my grandma did. Afterward, being not able to
attend school had affected her entire life.
While attending school was not a priority for her because of the stereotypes of

Descriptive Essay About Beauty
I think our minds are obsessed with beauty. We envy those we cannot be. We strive to have this
picture perfect life, or something close to it. When I was younger, I was never out going or the kid
that talked all the time. That just wasn't me. I never thought of myself as beautiful. I thought I was
pretty, but in my mind, to be truly beautiful, one must possess other characteristics beyond the
physical realm. To be exquisite, perfectly, and wholeheartedly beautiful, one must be: independent,
self–confident, and happy. I didn't see this in myself at the time, but how could I? I was still in
elementary school. There is one woman, however, who I considered being one of the most beautiful
beings. She is partially the reason I am the person I am...show more content...
I hated shopping. But this lady with her textured turtleneck always mesmerized me with how
powerfully she presented herself. She was always so polished and prim. I never remember a
Sunday where she looked like the overworked mother, or the stress ridden woman trying to keep
her life together. No, she was quite the opposite. She was in complete control of her life.
Years passed by, I no longer saw any of her kids. Her husband, who was quite obviously older than
her, began to deteriorate. He had surgery that left him unable to walk without assistance. She was
always there, guiding him, smiling at him, helping him into the car. She maintained the same
calm, loving style towards him, before and after. At this point, I was quite a bit older. I
understood death. I could tell just by looking at him, that his time was coming to an end; anyone
could. But she paid no attention to that. She appeared older than before. Not in sense that she was
dying, but she seemed like she had accomplished whatever she wanted in life. She seemed serene,
they both did. It was in those last few months they had together that I saw a couple truly in love.
They were happy. I've never seen anything like that before. I don't think that people genuinely
understand their feelings for a person until they've lived without him or her or they know that that
time is coming. She never once showed any sadness or sorrow. She remained as caring and as gentle
as ever.
He did eventually pass. She

Descriptive Essay About My Best Friend
There is always that one person that you have that knows all of your secrets, shares all of your
jokes, listens to all of your gossip and is simply someone you can call your best friend. I live with
that person, or at least I used to. Her name is Allison, my sister and my best friend. Looking back
at every single memory I have, she is there in some form or fashion. She is there holding my hand
my first day of preschool, wearing the same jean jacket as I because our mom loved it when we
matched. She is there on the basketball court with me during my very first game, helping calm my
nerves and stop my shaking. She is there holding me while I cry over my first heartbreak,
reassuring me that things will get better. Even after she graduated, leaving me in high school alone,
she is still there. She is at every game cheering me on from the stands and is always willing to help
me with things such as homework or listen to my constant rants about teachers.
I remember waking up every morning at 6:45 to the horrible shrill of country music blaring in the
bathroom that we shared, as Allison got ready for the day ahead. Now, the bathroom is quiet
because she is no longer there. She shares a different bathroom with a different person who now gets
the rude awakening every morning that I would die to have back. She emptied her dresser, cleaned
off her desk and took down all her pictures a few months ago, August 12th to be exact. The best day
of her life was the worst day of mine, her

Descriptive Essay About My City
Our town is more home to us than our actual house. We make so much memories around town,
whether it's dining out with the family at a local restaurant or learning how to ride a bike at our
local park to spending our first paycheck at the local mall. Our town is very precious and we often
take for granted, what a privilege it is to live in a place where so much is accessible to us. We
often oversee all the little things our town offers like the stores, the parks, the many street lights
that keep our town well lit, and the well paved roads. Today I will discuss the description of my
town, the people that make up my neighborhood, and the perks of living in Orland Park.
Orland Park is a southwest suburb in Illinois. It is a well known town due to it's many fine dining
restaurants, shopping centers, and great school district. Orland Park is a busy town and to fit the
needs of the people, the busiest street was just remodeled. Lagrange Road was just remodeled and
widened into a three lane road in each direction. According to the Illinois Department of
Transportation website, "The project cost ninety–five million dollars and took three years to
complete." Now there is a brick median in the road that is filled with trees, flowers, and small
bushes. On the southbound side of LaGrange Road there is a walking trail, that is also used as a
biking trail. Most of the shopping centers and buildings all have the same design. The buildings
consist of tan colored bricks and long but narrow

Descriptive Essay About My Family
My Cozy Home A home is a place where you have lived with your family for so long that it has, in
a sense, become a part of you. It can be a structure, a neighborhood, a state or a country. In my
case, when I think of home, I initially think of a building, my house. My home, however, is much
more than just a house to me. It is also the place where I am always sure to find those I love most,
my family. In a generation where there are so many broken homes, I am fortunate to live with
and be raised by two parents, who still love each other. I have two older sisters, Sabreena and
Trinity, and a dog, a poodle named Puffs. I live in a quaint, four bedroom house in a subdivision
called Steeplechase in Avondale, Louisiana. My house is a place of safety and refuge. My
neighborhood is full of friendly, familiar faces. I have been smiling, waiving and occasionally
talking to these friends and acquaintances since we moved here when I was just two years old.
Growing up in this environment has, I'm sure, contributed to certain character and personality traits,
which have made me who I am today. I am ultimately a trusting individual, who is both friendly and
hospitable. You can learn much about a person simply by walking through their home. For example,
if you walk through my house, you would instantly notice framed Bible verses, decorative crosses,
inspirational sayings and a trophy case, filled with different types of past accomplishments. In our
living room, there is a

Descriptive Essay About A Hero
When talking about a hero, some people might think of a veteran, a fire fighter, or even
superman. The definition of the word "hero" varies between different people; however, my
definition of a hero is someone who is selfless, brave, and strong. Someone who doesn't runaway
when things get hard, who gives their all just for the wellbeing of others regardless of the strain it
puts on themselves. When thinking of the word "hero" the only person who comes to my mind
is my cousin Cassy. Cassy fits my own personal description of a hero; she is selfless, brave, and
strong. She doesn't run away when things get tough and most importantly, she looks out for
others no matter what the situation is. What is a hero to you? On September 24th of 2017, my
parents, along with my sister and I, walked into my grandma's house around three o'clock in the
afternoon. My aunt Patty had told us she had very important news for us to hear that evening. As
we sat down in the living room of my grandma's small condo, everybody looked at one another
awkwardly waiting for someone to speak first. My mom started the conversation by asking how
long my aunt was going to be in town. My aunt slightly teared up as she tried to spit out her
response. She began to tell us that she was actually moving back home to Fargo from the farm
place her and her boyfriend lived at near Devils Lake. My aunt started to stutter after a while and
then finally blurted out the sentence that nobody ever wants to hear come from a loved

About Me! By: Jonna S. My Best friend My best friend is amazing! Ever since the first day of
school she's been there. Basically what happened was on the first day I was at silver hills and had
no idea who anyone was so i just sat at a table and she was like, "Hi I'm Daphnie what's your
name?," of course i said Jonna cause that's my name. Eventually we ran into each other at lunch
so we sat down and talked for awhile to each other and then we walked to my next class and I was
like wow you wanna be friends. She said of course cause i mean come on i'm amazing! Honestly
we had a lot of good memories together from the 6th grade and i'm very excited to create brand
new ones with her. She is amazing and I see perfection in her even though she disagrees i don't
care she is perfect in my eyes and i will always be there for her I don't care what happens between
us and i just wanna say thank you and i love you best friend! My Runaway! Hot air, windy breeze,
beating sun, blooming season and a nice boring day! The exotic yellow bus speeding through the
overpowering wind and it took a nice sharp stop. We got off the bus and that's when our
adventurous day started. But really, what we thought was a fun day, others thought we were crazy
and scared for us! For example, both of our entire households. This is how it all started. It was a very
casual afternoon throughout school. Nothing different from any other day, until we got on the bus.

Descriptive Essay About Memories
Our lives are filled with many favorable memories, but only the best ones are formed when we
gain something from them. A great memory that I have is when I went to my first concert in
Richmond with my friend, Ciana, in March of 2017. This concert is one of my best memories
because it taught me how fun life can be, no matter how wild it may become.
My friend and I aren't wild people, but we do like to randomly plan crazy things. Ciana randomly
messaged me one month before and asked if I wanted to go see this band in March. With a why not

still had plenty of time left. We figured we would go ahead and wait in the medium sized crowd.
The only part of the room that was well lit, was the stage. As we patiently waited, the variety of
bright colors danced across the stage. Slowly, more people came in and filled the crowd area in the
room. The stage and band equipment was set up by these men who paced across the stage. As we
waited for what seemed like eternity, time slowly stretched like finely rolled out dough. Finally, the
lights went out, and the first band came on stage.
The entire crowd screamed as loud as they can. The lights came back on and the first band comes
out. As we are enjoying the music we're listening to, the singer asks the crowd to make a moshpit.
Instantly, everybody is pushing to the perimeters of the crowd area in order to make a clear space.
Forming right next to where my friend and I are standing, the mosh pit errupted. It was very rough
to stand on the outer edge of the moshpit, but thankfully, this tall guy was our savior as he blocked
us from the tornado of bodies within the moshpit. Slowly, we pushed ourselves away from the

Descriptive Essay On A Trip
The art studies–at–large trip has been a once in a lifetime trip. From a twenty–four hour plane trip
with a stop in Chicago and time zone change, it has been an exhausting yet enjoyable time running
around with my classmates in the airport. Being in a different country and experiencing a new
culture first hand was astonishing and gave me a new outlook of the beauties in the world. From
Montone, Florence, Venice, andRome I had the ultimate trip in Italy. The food, language, and
culture were different from what I was used to but it was worth the experience. I was not fond of
drinking wine with every dinner though the wine was delicious. I had the best pastas, tiramisus,
and coffees while I was in Italy. The art was beautiful; it was breathtaking to see how many free
artworks was there for the public. After being in Italy for about a month I can see why people are
attracted and want to live in Italy. Montone is a beautiful, peaceful, and friendly town. I enjoyed
the walk to town, the covenant, Aries CafГ©, the tavern restaurant, and the town's people. I had
the best cappuccino and coffee at Aries and I loved every dish I ate at the tavern restaurant. The
view from the covenant was beautiful and works perfectly for a painting. Getting around town was
easy with everyone being so nice and helpful. The piazza was a great place to hang out because of
friendly the environment was and it was the main spot in town where everyone stayed. Getting a

Descriptive Paragraph About My Family
My mom's name is Lisa and she was a PTA but is now a stay at home mom. My dad's name is
Luis and he was a chemical and nuclear engineer, but now owns his own business. I have 3 sisters:
Angie, Silencia, and Mahalia. I also have 3 brothers: Matthias, Geminiah, and Elshaddai. Angie
works with my dad to eventually take over the family business. The rest of my siblings are in
school except for Elshaddai who is only 3. My family expects me to be a good example to my
younger siblings and encourage them. To do this they also expect me to do well in school and in
athletics. My mom is a very outgoing, loud, and energetic person. My dad is also very outgoing
and loud, but he has more of a serious side to him. Angie is really fun, but she also has a more
relaxed personality. Mahalia is very loud, active, and argumentative. Silencia is the most soft–spoken
and relaxed out of everyone. Matthias is very outgoing, loud, and active. Geminiah and Elshaddai
are both loud and very active. I have good relationships with everyone in my family. I do have
small disagreements with my siblings sometimes, but we all love each other a lot. I had a very
unusual childhood, but it was still fun. My childhood was unusual because it involved a lot of
training but that's what we did together as a family, and growing up I had friends that did the same
thing and we all enjoyed it.
In grade school I competed in a lot of powerlifting meets and got to travel all over the country to
break world records. I missed

Someone who inspires me
There are always the people in our lives that can be the heroes in many ways, but my life's hero
will always be my mom. She influences my life since I born until now and also sacrifice a lot in
her lifetime to make my life and my sibling's lives better. She love us unconditionally, I have
become the person I am today because of her. I adore her very much, not just because she is my
mom, also such an amazing person with a gold heart, my best friend for life, an advisor, kind,
respectful and strong person. I am not her only children, I have a big sister and a little brother but
I am my mom's favorite children. My mom taught me how to be kind and loving but not to allow
others to take my kindness for weakness, also to dream big and work...show more content...
The worse part of her daughter been missing, my dad was out of country for job mission. The
next day, my uncle announced me through the radio and my godmother that moment she was
listening to a radio and found out that I lied to her sister and she took me back to my house.
Seeing my mom crying was a pain for me, I cried deeply and apologized. She smiled at me and
told me, I forgive you but do not do that again. She has a kindly heart to tolerate my mistakes, and
she gives me endless love but asks for nothing in return. When I won the lottery (The green
card)to come in United of states, I told my sister that I don't want to leave my country because I
don't see myself living far from where my mom live. My sister told her, but I did not know that
she did. That day I went to my friend's house party and my mom came to pick me up. When mom
was driving home, she saw me look incredibly down; I couldn't imagine leaving everybody and
everything, to me that was difficulty solution to make. She smiled at me and she said,
"Tomorrow depends on what you are doing today" I pretended to be fine, and I said: I am ok, and
she said: "It is a good opportunity for you, stop thinking a lot about leaving us. Everything is going
to be alright. I promise! Once you get there just focus on school more than anything else and stay
mom's favorite daughter" she encouraged me to be strong and to let God guide you." That was

Sample Of Descriptive Essay About A Person

  • 1. Descriptive Essay About Personal Experience Fear, guilt, happiness, and anger are emotions which individuals can be struck with at the most unexpected time, but as human beings, we have experienced all of these feelings a plethora of times over the course of life. Emotions and feelings are the results of one's actions that lead to situations. The way an individual acts, speaks, or even discerns can lead to circumstances and ultimately trigger emotions, which in the end, possibly provide you with a valuable lesson. The glorious summer of 2008 resulted from the sun and air's collaboration to fulfill my desire to have balmy weather. The trees composedly swayed while the neighborhood kids played and giggled around them, and their parents prepared for work. In the midst of this, I woke...show more content... I got very restless as she opened for business, since I didn't know how to spend my time, I lead my feet to the coolers located on the far opposite side of the checkout area that were filled with different types of waters and juices. Although I was tempted to pick out a juice, I chose a strawberry flavored water, and I decided to save the juice for later. With my drink, I happily walked to the candy aisle that was in between the tobacco and cigarette aisles. My eyes couldn 't locate the KitKat wafers, my all–time favorite chocolate bar. As a result, I dragged myself back to the comfort of my chair empty handed. I felt like a sportsperson who just came home defeated from a championship game. My eyes ogled at the rack, from a great distance, while my heart wept and yearned for the treat. My mind, the biggest asset of my body, told my muscles to reevaluate the aisle. With a small ray of hope buried deep in my heart, I swiftly and carefully ran to the rack and inspected the candies again. The nervousness on my face made me lethargic as I inspected each of the boxes of candies. After a thorough investigation, I finally found a large box filled with the sweet and savory Kitkats hiding on the bottom shelf of the rack. My over excited heart started celebrating, while my mind remembered to seek permission. With my childlike innocence, I approached my mom and asked her by faking a naive look, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Descriptive Personal Experience Essay So, there I sat, seat G4 on the train headed to nowhere. I didn't have a destination; I never really did. I guess that's just the type of person I was, someone who just hopped on a train for the ride. I always liked trains. I don't know what it was about them, but for some reason or another, I always found myself lounging in the same spot drinking hot cocoa. People always said that hot chocolate "was only for kids" but I never got that; I had a pretty strong distaste for coffee. Honestly, I hate it, the way it makes your teeth gritty to the point where you need something else to drink. I can't even enjoy a cup unless it's lighter than my own skin tone, which, by the way, is pretty pale. I mean I wouldn't call myself pasty but... Anyhow, it...show more content... My mother raised me right, so I understood how wrong this was, but don't worry, nothing I had been thinking was going to leave my thick skull. Most of the people on the train were older women with their children, but next to me was a man. His eyes, like mine, matched his hair in blackness. However creepy, I always found this feature refreshing, in the way that one finds a black cat. I named this man Frank and created a story for him when another man caught my eye. It was his coat. It was an expensive Ted Baker peacoat which was impressive for how young he was. I worked out frequently and could tell by his body that he had been skipping leg day. His chest, however, was ridiculously huge, almost as if it wasn't even real. My eyes drifted towards the right of the train. I began to critique a young blonde when the man with the jacket began to walk in my direction. He was walking fast, darting straight to the bathroom when his coat flap floated up. I couldn't believe what I saw; it looked like a homemade bomb strapped to his chest. Spending the next few minutes convincing myself that what I just saw wasn't what I thought it was, I began to panic. Next thing I know, he's busting out of the bathroom with a gun and I was forced to prepare for what was going to happen next. It didn't take long for everybody on the train to panic. It rushed through each row as the sobs and cries made their way to every passenger. It was an orchestra of agony and it Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Descriptive Essay About Myself I find it extremely tough to talk about myself and my personal traits. In order for me to dIscuss who I am in an accurate manner then I must provide some basic background information on myself and talk about the Environment I grew up in. This way people can get a better understanding of why I am the way I am. My Background is so essential In making me myself because If I had been born under any different circumstances or grew up any differently I would be a different person than I am today. I was born inAberdeen Scotland but raised in Fort Bend County Texas. Aberdeen and Fort Bend both have great opportunities but differ in many ways. One way in which they differ is that Fort Bend is very culturally diverse while in Aberdeen most of...show more content... Her family communicates to one another using spanish or sometimes english. I have always grown up in a family that speaks only english so I find it interesting to go over to other people's houses and hear them communicating in another language. On top of all of this meeting different people has also opened my mind to new ideas. For example, in school when we work in group projects we collaborate and communicate with people who think differently than us then work together to figure out whose ideas will work the best and how to improve them. Another factor that plays a part in why I am shaped how I am is my family's economic circumstances. I have always had access to anything I needed and for that I have extreme gratitude because I know some people have a lot of difficulty in life. Since I was born into a family with such good economic circumstances I have been lucky to have lots of opportunities. One Opportunity I had as a child was participating in taekwondo. I did taekwondo until I reached a blackbelt which took years of hardwork and dedication. I had to memorize forms, Spar with other competitors and break boards in order to continue to move up to the next level. Taekwondo also helped keep me in good shape and fit when I was younger. Another Opportunity I am grateful for is the skill of playing the piano. At first I was not all that enthusiastic about playing it but my parents has signed me up and insisted I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Descriptive Essay On Anxiety Generalized anxiety is a disorder in which a person has normally tense, uneasy, and feels very on edge more often than not. I have always had a bit on anxiety with being near and/or around people, I have never felt completely comfortable around anyone and often feel uneasy and nervous about everything, but during my last year of middle school my anxiety got tremendously worse with the stress of school. During my 8th grade year I was going to a college prep academy that came with an incredible amount of stress for a thirteen–year–old. As the school year went on I would get more and more homework and assignments. On average, I would come home with about four hours of homework that would be due the next day, eventually the stress and overwhelming amount of work became hard to handle and I started becoming more and more worrisome and uncomfortable in public. As the school year went on I just became extremely nervous and uncomfortable about everything, scared to move in front of people, scared to get up and sharpen a pencil, my hands were more often than not sweaty and gross feeling which just made me even more nervous because what if for some reason someone would need to touch my hand. I felt uncomfortable around friends that I had known and gone to school with for years. I eventually stopped going out at all and just stayed home, I wouldn't go out to eat with my parents nor would I go out with friends or anything. I started becoming very secluded from everyone. • 5. Descriptive Essay About My Mother No matter how hard life gets for me and how chaotic things can become there has always been one person that I can turn to, my mom. She's been a wealth of advice to call on when I'm clueless and a shoulder to cry on when I'm down. Her compassion for others inspires me to be a better person as does the guidance she has given me over the years. She's not afraid to give me a reality check and to tell me the things I don't want to hear even though I need to. She keeps me grounded and teaches me to appreciate the smaller things in life. Even though my dad was still involved in my life after my parents split up it was my mother who I primarily lived with and it was her who had the greatest influence on my life growing up. Anyone who has known my...show more content... Heaven help you if you do anything to endanger her family. My mom also does not go soft on her kids; she can be a formidable disciplinarian when she wants to and will not hesitate to set us straight when we broke the rules. She won't let anybody walk over her and is really quick to anger if you try. My mother is strong–willed and stubborn; when she sets her mind to something almost nothing will stop her and what an impossible feat it is to change her mind on something. She is very impatient; when she wants something done she wants it done at this very moment, no later. She is idealistic and she enjoys the simpler things that life has to offer. She loves nature and would love nothing more than to be living in a cabin in the mountains while listening to country music. She does not pay much attention to news happening outside her local area and prefers to focus on what's happening in her immediate area. From my mother I have learned how to be the person that I am today. Through her I have learned the importance of family and that it is paramount to spend time with them while I still have it. Even now I try to spend time with my family when I have the opportunity to. Form her I have learned compassion for those around me and for animals. Even Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Descriptive Essay About Sadness Sadness. Some people will say they learned how to drive this summer, or they learned how to waterski. But I learned what sadness is. My mum and I spent two weeks with my grandfather and grandmother this summer. I knew my grandfather's health was failing. I knew he wasn't doing well. But I had absolutely no conception of how bad it was. He couldn't take ten steps without yelping in pain. He couldn't do much of anything by himself. Those two weeks were spent helping my grandparents any way I possibly could, carrying my grandfather 's walker places, and playing endless games of scrabble with him. My grandfather is the best scrabble player I have ever met. Every time I had visited him, we had played at least once a day and he would beat me...show more content... My eyes were clouded over and I just kept hearing the words that the principal had said over and over again. He had passed away. I didn't even know him well, but the idea that he could just be gone terrified me. Now it was happening to my grandfather. "How can someone just be gone?" I pleaded with my mum, but probably more with God than her. "How can someone be here one day, and then gone the next?' Tears began to fill my eyes and cloud my vision. "How is it that someone dies when their body fails them? How is it that one day Grandad will be gone, and I won't be able to talk to him anymore, or call him, or play scrabble with him? It's just not fair!" I collapsed into tears while my mum pulled over. We just sat there for a while, both hugging each other and crying our eyes out. There was so much sadness in me. It was like a black hole, swallowing me up from the inside. It was an intense form of grief that I had never felt before. I would cry and feel my whole body shaking, tears coming out of my eyes, but my soul also gasping inside of me, trying to throw out that black hole, but instead getting consumed. My mum's face streamed with tears. "I feel the same way," she whispered before falling into heart wrenching sobs, the same sobs that had been haunting me for months, as she had been crying over her dad's Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 8. Descriptive Essay About Being A Woman It was a frigid Tuesday morning, dim light of the sun was shining from millions of miles away brightening my day with its sparkling lights. I walked to my 76 years old grandma (Maya) house through thin and spiky grass, giving me an unbearable feeling in my foot. As I got to my grandma's house looking pale and a goof with cold frosty air coming out of my mouth, ringing the bell on her door, she finally opened it. Then, she gave a tight hug with a big surprise in her face of the joy of seeing me after a month. Her squeeze gave a feeling of warmth where I lost track of my self–feeling safe and comfortable like a perfect dream. It had melted all my stress and gave me a calm atmosphere of delights. As I enter her dark and cozy room, seeing many traditional types of furniture, it had made me feel like I was living my life in the old days. Her bed felt super soft like clouds, and I could not help myself sitting on that bed and talking with her about her life experiences as being a woman. As we sat, she asked, "So, what brings you here today after so long?" I was in excitement to see myself through her words of her life experiences from her childhood. As I asked her many questions that involved gender roles of being a woman, she looked serious with a question mark on her face. We pause for seconds; it was dead quiet, and all I could hear is the tick–tock of an old cranking sound of a clock. She then responded, "Being a girl, I lived in a farm–like house, it was a muddy and dirtiest place that no one can imagine living in there today." Her response had made me terrified because of the description of the condition and the environment she had lived during her childhood. "My brothers had gone to school while I stay home with my mother helping her do chores and clean up animals stool, the worst smell God ever had created." she continued, with shame on her face. I was angrily surprised to hear how much differentiate her family kept in the gender role of her being a female. In my life, I have never experienced or seen such a dreadful situation like how my grandma did. Afterward, being not able to attend school had affected her entire life. While attending school was not a priority for her because of the stereotypes of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Descriptive Essay About Beauty I think our minds are obsessed with beauty. We envy those we cannot be. We strive to have this picture perfect life, or something close to it. When I was younger, I was never out going or the kid that talked all the time. That just wasn't me. I never thought of myself as beautiful. I thought I was pretty, but in my mind, to be truly beautiful, one must possess other characteristics beyond the physical realm. To be exquisite, perfectly, and wholeheartedly beautiful, one must be: independent, self–confident, and happy. I didn't see this in myself at the time, but how could I? I never remember a Sunday where she looked like the overworked mother, or the stress ridden woman trying to keep her life together. No, she was quite the opposite. She was in complete control of her life. Years passed by, I no longer saw any of her kids. Her husband, who was quite obviously older than her, began to deteriorate. He had surgery that left him unable to walk without assistance. She was always there, guiding him, smiling at him, helping him into the car. She maintained the same calm, loving style towards him, before and after. At this point, I was quite a bit older. I understood death. I could tell just by looking at him, that his time was coming to an end; anyone could. But she paid no attention to that. She appeared older than before. Not in sense that she was dying, but she seemed like she had accomplished whatever she wanted in life. She seemed serene, they both did. It was in those last few months they had together that I saw a couple truly in love. They were happy. I've never seen anything like that before. I don't think that people genuinely understand their feelings for a person until they've lived without him or her or they know that that time is coming. She never once showed any sadness or sorrow. She remained as caring and as gentle as ever. He did eventually pass. She Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Descriptive Essay About My Best Friend There is always that one person that you have that knows all of your secrets, shares all of your jokes, listens to all of your gossip and is simply someone you can call your best friend. I live with that person, or at least I used to. Her name is Allison, my sister and my best friend. Looking back at every single memory I have, she is there in some form or fashion. She is there holding my hand my first day of preschool, wearing the same jean jacket as I because our mom loved it when we matched. She is there on the basketball court with me during my very first game, helping calm my nerves and stop my shaking. She is there holding me while I cry over my first heartbreak, reassuring me that things will get better. Even after she graduated, leaving me in high school alone, she is still there. She is at every game cheering me on from the stands and is always willing to help me with things such as homework or listen to my constant rants about teachers. I remember waking up every morning at 6:45 to the horrible shrill of country music blaring in the bathroom that we shared, as Allison got ready for the day ahead. Now, the bathroom is quiet because she is no longer there. She shares a different bathroom with a different person who now gets the rude awakening every morning that I would die to have back. She emptied her dresser, cleaned off her desk and took down all her pictures a few months ago, August 12th to be exact. The best day of her life was the worst day of mine, her Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Descriptive Essay About My City Our town is more home to us than our actual house. We make so much memories around town, whether it's dining out with the family at a local restaurant or learning how to ride a bike at our local park to spending our first paycheck at the local mall. Our town is very precious and we often take for granted, what a privilege it is to live in a place where so much is accessible to us. We often oversee all the little things our town offers like the stores, the parks, the many street lights that keep our town well lit, and the well paved roads. Today I will discuss the description of my town, the people that make up my neighborhood, and the perks of living in Orland Park. Orland Park is a southwest suburb in Illinois. It is a well known town due to it's many fine dining restaurants, shopping centers, and great school district. Orland Park is a busy town and to fit the needs of the people, the busiest street was just remodeled. Lagrange Road was just remodeled and widened into a three lane road in each direction. According to the Illinois Department of Transportation website, "The project cost ninety–five million dollars and took three years to complete." Now there is a brick median in the road that is filled with trees, flowers, and small bushes. On the southbound side of LaGrange Road there is a walking trail, that is also used as a biking trail. Most of the shopping centers and buildings all have the same design. The buildings consist of tan colored bricks and long but narrow Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Descriptive Essay About My Family My Cozy Home A home is a place where you have lived with your family for so long that it has, in a sense, become a part of you. It can be a structure, a neighborhood, a state or a country. In my case, when I think of home, I initially think of a building, my house. My home, however, is much more than just a house to me. It is also the place where I am always sure to find those I love most, my family. In a generation where there are so many broken homes, I am fortunate to live with and be raised by two parents, who still love each other. I have two older sisters, Sabreena and Trinity, and a dog, a poodle named Puffs. I live in a quaint, four bedroom house in a subdivision called Steeplechase in Avondale, Louisiana. My house is a place of safety and refuge. My neighborhood is full of friendly, familiar faces. I have been smiling, waiving and occasionally talking to these friends and acquaintances since we moved here when I was just two years old. Growing up in this environment has, I'm sure, contributed to certain character and personality traits, which have made me who I am today. I am ultimately a trusting individual, who is both friendly and hospitable. You can learn much about a person simply by walking through their home. For example, if you walk through my house, you would instantly notice framed Bible verses, decorative crosses, inspirational sayings and a trophy case, filled with different types of past accomplishments. In our living room, there is a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Descriptive Essay About A Hero When talking about a hero, some people might think of a veteran, a fire fighter, or even superman. The definition of the word "hero" varies between different people; however, my definition of a hero is someone who is selfless, brave, and strong. Someone who doesn't runaway when things get hard, who gives their all just for the wellbeing of others regardless of the strain it puts on themselves. When thinking of the word "hero" the only person who comes to my mind is my cousin Cassy. Cassy fits my own personal description of a hero; she is selfless, brave, and strong. She doesn't run away when things get tough and most importantly, she looks out for others no matter what the situation is. What is a hero to you? On September 24th of 2017, my parents, along with my sister and I, walked into my grandma's house around three o'clock in the afternoon. My aunt Patty had told us she had very important news for us to hear that evening. As we sat down in the living room of my grandma's small condo, everybody looked at one another awkwardly waiting for someone to speak first. My mom started the conversation by asking how long my aunt was going to be in town. My aunt slightly teared up as she tried to spit out her response. She began to tell us that she was actually moving back home to Fargo from the farm place her and her boyfriend lived at near Devils Lake. My aunt started to stutter after a while and then finally blurted out the sentence that nobody ever wants to hear come from a loved Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Descriptive Personal Experience Essay I was in my room listening to music. My room would normally have a very serene feeling to it. My room had a beautiful dream catcher hanging on the wall and there was also a very big window that made it possible for me to see the moon every night. I always felt very relaxed in my room, but that day I could hear the screaming and arguing between my mom and my dad in the background. It was horrible. I could feel my eyes starting to water because I hated hearing my parents fight. The fighting and arguing continued for days. "No, I mean I don't know I just haven 't been feeling too great emotionally i guess.", I responded in a very little voice because I thought that maybe she would think that I was crazy. Once I said that my mom stopped folding all of the laundry. "Since when?", my mom asked with a very surprised tone. "Maybe like 3 months.", I responded. "What! Three months why didn't you tell me". " I didn't tell you because I thought you wouldn't understand.", I said in a tone that almost sounded annoyed, which I think I might have been. " I think you should go to the doctor.", she told me. I didn't want to go to the doctor, but I knew that it would most likely help me. A couple days later I went to the doctor and he just asked me a bunch of questions. One of the questions was, what did it feel like to have an anxiety attack. That was probably one of the hardest questions i had ever had to answer. I couldn 't find the right words to describe how it felt. As he kept asking me questions he would write things down. I couldn't help but wonder what he was writing down. I would keep having the thought that maybe he was writing down all of the bad things. After the doctor stopped talking to me he started to talk to my mom about ways to help Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 16. Descriptive Essay About Memories Our lives are filled with many favorable memories, but only the best ones are formed when we gain something from them. A great memory that I have is when I went to my first concert in Richmond with my friend, Ciana, in March of 2017. This concert is one of my best memories because it taught me how fun life can be, no matter how wild it may become. My friend and I aren't wild people, but we do like to randomly plan crazy things. Ciana randomly messaged me one month before and asked if I wanted to go see this band in March. With a why not attitude, I agreed to go. I wasn't dying to see the band live, but I did enjoy their music. There was three other bands playing at that concert, but I wasn't familiar with any of them. Since they weren't busy, we decided to give the tall vender forty bucks for two of the band's tour t–shirts. It was a quick interaction, so we still had plenty of time left. We figured we would go ahead and wait in the medium sized crowd. The only part of the room that was well lit, was the stage. As we patiently waited, the variety of bright colors danced across the stage. Slowly, more people came in and filled the crowd area in the room. The stage and band equipment was set up by these men who paced across the stage. As we waited for what seemed like eternity, time slowly stretched like finely rolled out dough. Finally, the lights went out, and the first band came on stage. The entire crowd screamed as loud as they can. The lights came back on and the first band comes out. As we are enjoying the music we're listening to, the singer asks the crowd to make a moshpit. Instantly, everybody is pushing to the perimeters of the crowd area in order to make a clear space. Forming right next to where my friend and I are standing, the mosh pit errupted. It was very rough to stand on the outer edge of the moshpit, but thankfully, this tall guy was our savior as he blocked us from the tornado of bodies within the moshpit. Slowly, we pushed ourselves away from the moshpit and towards the stage. At this point, my arm had already formed a bruise from the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Descriptive Essay On A Trip The art studies–at–large trip has been a once in a lifetime trip. From a twenty–four hour plane trip with a stop in Chicago and time zone change, it has been an exhausting yet enjoyable time running around with my classmates in the airport. Being in a different country and experiencing a new culture first hand was astonishing and gave me a new outlook of the beauties in the world. From Montone, Florence, Venice, andRome I had the ultimate trip in Italy. The food, language, and culture were different from what I was used to but it was worth the experience. I was not fond of drinking wine with every dinner though the wine was delicious. I had the best pastas, tiramisus, and coffees while I was in Italy. The art was beautiful; it was breathtaking to see how many free artworks was there for the public. After being in Italy for about a month I can see why people are attracted and want to live in Italy. Montone is a beautiful, peaceful, and friendly town. I enjoyed the walk to town, the covenant, Aries CafГ©, the tavern restaurant, and the town's people. I had the best cappuccino and coffee at Aries and I loved every dish I ate at the tavern restaurant. The view from the covenant was beautiful and works perfectly for a painting. Getting around town was easy with everyone being so nice and helpful. The piazza was a great place to hang out because of friendly the environment was and it was the main spot in town where everyone stayed.
