Writer's Statement
Thesis Statement: Climate change is natural; however, advances of human society such as
deforestation, industrialization, and the burning of fossil fuels, have increased the rate at which the
climate is changing.
My three major sources stood out when writing my research paper on climate change. My main
source was Louis Bergeron's, "The World Can be Powered by Alternative Energy, Using Today's
Technology, in 20–40 Years, Says Stanford Researcher Mark Z. Jacobson." In this article, Bergeron
describes an energy researcher's plan to power the world with renewables within the next few
decades. My second source was Marc Lallanilla's, "Greenhouse Gas Emissions: Causes and
Sources." In this article, Lallanilla talked about the

The Causes and Effects of Obesity Essay
So much of what occurs in this world is a result of cause and effect. For instance, if a match is
struck; a flame ignites, if water is put on the flame; the flame is extinguished, if more fuel is
added to the fire; the fire gets bigger. A major problem in our society today, the problem of obesity,
results from cause and effect. While many factors are involved, the causes for obesity are ultimately
from choices made by individuals. One of the causes for the continuing rise in obesity in the United
States is because the cycle of obesity, that perpetuates from parents to their children, continues. Poor
nutritional and physical activity modeling from obese parents has a profound negative effect on
their children, and if we are ever going to be...show more content...
While fast food is not the best choice of food to eat, it can be fine if eaten in moderation, and if
children want to eat fast food too much, parents should just say "no". Some parents blatantly state
that they don't not have the control to resist buying unhealthy products for their children. They
make it seem like they truly do not have a choice of whether they choose to feed their children
healthy food or junk food, either because their children demand it or because they are are ignorant
about other healthier alternatives. It is humorous to imagine a parent being driven by some
powerful force driving through a fast food line or shopping in a grocery store and the unhealthy
literally food jumping in shopping cart itself. It is a funny thought but that is almost what it is
made to seem like. Recently there was a shocking story in the news about a toddler in Indonesia
that smokes numerous cigarettes a day, the parents of the toddler say it is basically too difficult
to get him to quit. There was an uproar from shocked parents around the world, claiming child
abuse. While of course it is a tragedy for such a thing like a toddler smoking to occur, and in no
way should ever be condoned, there is some hypocrisy involved there. Some of the parents who
were disgusted by the story and condemned the toddler's parents are in fact hypocrites, for they are
also guilty of knowingly making unhealthy choices for their children, that could be as detrimental to

Essay about Causes and Effects of Water Pollution
There are many causes for water pollution. The main one is plastics. The reason for that is that
plastics take four hundred and fifty years to decompose in the water. Also many companies use
plastic and people throw it in the waterways. Because water can float and be carried by the wind, it
can cause harm to unsuspecting creatures hundreds of feet from where it was originally dumped.
Such waste includes bags, bottles, cups, straws, cup lids, utensils, six pack holders, cling wrap,
fishing line, bait bags, and floats.
The second highest cause of water pollution is ship waste. Ships used to take much garbage with
them on their ships and dump them. This was very common until the government took action. They
were giving sailors...show more content...
Some of the businesses that contribute to the water pollution are businesses that repair and maintain
motor vehicles, electroplate, operate printing and coping equipment, perform dry cleaning and
laundry services, process photographs, operate labs, involve building and construct roads, provide
pest control, preserve wood, and make Furniture.
Water pollution doesnВ№t just effect humans, it affects are whole ecosystem. Birds and marine
life are affected by it. More than fifty species of birds are known to ingest plastic. When they eat
plastic, they feel full, so some of them die of starvation. Algal blooms are another thing that kills
marine life. Algal blooms are sea scum, whale food, and sea sawdust. Algal blooms are bundles of
fine threads, rusty brown, they have a fishy smell, and are common in
August through December.
Water is our main source of our life. We need it to live, drink, bathe, recreation, manufacturing, and
power. We need water for almost everything, if we don't start cleaning up we will be in big trouble.
Bunches of families dispose of chemicals everyday. It affects us drastically and we depend on it to
be clean.
Right now the government is fining people for illegal dumping. But that is all the government is
doing.
People in cities are organizing water pollution groups. A lot of people are producing fliers and
giving them out. The are asking people to adapt a

Cause and Effect -- Procrastination Essay
Procrastination "I'll stop procrastinating...Tomorrow." This is a mindset that is possessed by a
majority of students today. Although putting off writing that English paper until the night before it
is due may not seem like a big deal, it has many harmful effects. In fact, what better topic is there
for that English paper? Very few are spared from the epidemic known asprocrastination. Even less
overcome this issue. In order to successfully defeat procrastination, we must first understand it.
According to the Merriam–Webster dictionary, to procrastinate is "to put off intentionally the doing
of something that should be done." Another way of putting it is "to wait until the last minute."
Procrastination is a very bad habit. Even though...show more content...
With that being said, being overwhelmed certainly does not help. This can lead to forgetting
important details and due dates. Another factor that causes procrastination is fear. Fear is a very
powerful emotion. Whenever someone is faced with a difficult task, they can become overran by
the fear of not being able to complete it. People who succumb to this are setting themselves up for
failure. Whenever someone feels as if they are going to fail, they tend to postpone the task for as
long as possible. This means that they often try to avoid the task all together until completion is
absolutely necessary. In doing so, the number of tasks that need to be done increases. However, the
time required to complete them does not. Perfectionism can also lead to procrastination. This is
because a person is setting a goal for themselves that is unreachable. Whenever these goals are not
met, they are a huge source of discouragement even though they couldn't have been completed in
the first place. This will result in lower productivity. From here, it is nothing but a downward
spiral. One must realize that no one can write the perfect English paper. Instead of trying to
accomplish this, we should focus our time and effort on writing the best paper according to our
personal abilities. However, no one should be satisfied with less than what can be achieved. All of
these factors lead to the lack of motivation. Personally, I

Cause an Effect of Domestic Violence Essay
Cause and Effect of Domestic Violence 1
Each year in the United States, an estimated two–to–four million women experience serious abuse
from a male partner and thousands are killed. As many as one–in–three adult women is abused by an
intimate during her lifetime. While only 5% of all annual violence against men is by a partner, 28%
of all annual violence to women is by an intimate and 70% of intimate murder victims are women.
Domestic violence is one of the major causes for emergency room visits by women and more than
half of all injuries presented by women are the result of a partner's aggression. Also, 86% of the
victims suffered at least one previous incident of abuse, 40% had previously required medical care
for the abuse, and...show more content...
Absences occasioned by court appearances also jeopardize women's livelihood. They may have to
move many times to avoid violence. Moving is costly and can interfere with continuity of
employment. They often lose family and friends as a result of the battering. First, the batterer
isolates them from family and friends. They become embarrassed by the abuse inflicted upon them
and withdraw from support persons to avoid embarrassment. Many battered women have to forgo
financial security during divorce proceedings to avoid further abuse. One third of children who
witness the battering of their mothers demonstrate significant behavioral and/or emotional problems,
including psychosomatic disorders, stuttering, anxiety, fears, sleep disruption, excessive crying and
school problems. Boys who witness their fathers' abuse their mothers are likely to inflict severe
violence as adults. Data suggest that girls who witness maternal abuse may tolerate abuse as adults
more than girls who do not. These negative effects may be diminished if the child benefits from
intervention by the law and domestic violence programs. Browne, A., Ewing, C.P. (1987). When a
mother is abused, the children may feel guilty that they cannot protect her, or that they are the cause
of the strife. They may themselves be abused, or neglected while the mother attempts to deal with
the trauma. The rate of child abused is 6–15 times higher in families where the mother is abused.

Everyone in the world has a chance to experience stress, so almost everyone knows what the
meaning of stress is. Most people who suffer from stress are college students because they have
many things to do at the same time. Students have to balance their course work and family at the
same time, and they have to leave their family problems in their home to be able to concentrate
carefully on their course work. The university life has become a lot more challenging, and it's much
harder than school. I think being in college can be extremely stressful because students have to do
everything by themselves. Furthermore, students have many assignments to do everyday. Therefore,
students stay awake late and don't pay attention to the class because...show more content...
This stress affects their attention on the class. Another cause of college stress is losing or gaining
weight. Sometimes students do not have time to eat because of the work they have to do.
According to Scott (2008), in the article about stress for college students "Some people think that
while student study for first year, some of students they lost their weight and other gain because
of academic stress" (P7). As a result of not having enough proteins and energy to stay healthy,
some students lose weight. For example, before I came here to study my major, my weight was
70kg, but after four months of studying here and the amount of work I had to finish, my weight
has become 61kg because I don't have time to cook, and I feel lazy, so I just eat simple foods and
go to the bed. Also, my friend Abdurrahman who came with me to the U.S., he was 73kg but until
now he has gained 9kg because of the stress which caused him to eat chocolate and ice cream when
he felt bad. Because of this stress, students would not be able to focus carefully because they are
unhealthy, so the brain may not work like some healthy person. Therefore, the stress on college
students attributes to weight loss and gain. The third cause of stress that college students deal with
is time management problems. Some college students are more independent, and they have to work
for themselves. Most of the students have a part time job, so they can pay for their

Thesis Statement : Global Warming
Thesis Statement: Global warming is a growing concern of scientists and researchers who believe
that it is a serious problem for our planet. The concerns and research have also been questioned and
have even been called myths. Millions of people find themselves affected by these weather pattern
changes and are concerned for their futures. Activists on both sides of the argument are very
passionate and not afraid to attack each other in every way they can. There are many questions that
are still not answered, however, we continue to see drastic weather changes to Earth. We must go
beyond the arguments and learn as much as we can to stop what could possibly lead to the
destruction of our planet, our way of life and our future.
Global warming is concerned with an average increase in the temperature of the atmosphere and the
increase in the Earth 's surface temperature primarily due to the emission of greenhouse gases from
the burning of fossil fuels. As for the processes of global warming, they can occur from a variety of
causes. The causes include the things that are concerned with natural and human factors.
Some people believe that global warming is a myth or hoax. They believe that global warming is
being used to generate fear and panic and that those behind this movement are using it to control
people 's lives and for financial gain. "Within the community of scientists and others concerned about
anthropogenic climate change, those who are skeptics are more commonly termed

salem witchcraft trials cause and effect Essay
In 1692 the area of Salem town and Salem village became very vulnerable to conflict. Severe
weather such as hurricanes had damaged land and crops, the effects of King Phillips War began to
impact New England society, and colonists were being forced off of the frontiers by Native peoples.
The Church and the government were in heavy conflict. And those residing in Salem began to grow
suspicious of one another when some prospered and others hadn't (Marcus, p13).
Suddenly people seemed very paranoid and soon residents were placing blame on one another and
accusing each other of witchcraft. In a fifteen month period between 1691 and 1692 nearly twelve
dozen people were accused of witchcraft in or near Salem (Norton, p8)....show more content...
Relationships between people and families seemed to crumble in the light of hysteria as children
accused parents and friends pointed out friends (Boyer, p67). Some confessed to witchcraft and
saved their own lives, others refused to tarnish their names and proclaimed innocence to their grave.
The fact that these people did not have freedom of speech and were proven guilty without any
tangible evidence caused even more hysteria throughout New England. People realized that at
anytime anyone of them could be pointed out and so the society fell even more.
One can see the Salem witch trials as being an excessive representation of the social and economic
changes taking place in New England at this time (Boyer, p67). Differences between those who
accepted change and those who feared it are what divided the colony. The hanging of witches can
be seen as the murder of difference or of change.
Perhaps if they had not been so insecure about their methods of governing the colony, the Puritans
wouldn't have felt threatened by the slightest change. It took nineteen innocent deaths for the leaders
of Salem to even begin to see the wrong doing in their trials. The Salem witch trials of the 1690's
had an immense impact on American history. These dark times cast a shadow that would forever
haunt this country's past, knowing that our fore fathers were not the

was to determine if sleep deprivation and/or poor sleep quality in a sample of non–depressed
university students was associated with lower academic performance" (Gilbert, Cameron. 295).
The study was also made to determine the relationship between sleep deprivation, sleep quality, and
academic performance (Gilbert, Cameron. 298). It was hypothesized that by the end of the study,
participants who had higher levels of sleep deprivation and poorer sleep quality would have lower
academic performance (as indicated by grade point average [GPA] and course incompletions–drops,
withdrawals, and incompletes) than participants with little sleep deprivation and good sleep quality
(Gilbert, Cameron. 298). By the end of the study, the authors discussed the results in the following
narration: To our knowledge, this is the first study to have found a relationship between poor sleep
quality and lower academic performance using a large sample size and, importantly, for
nondepressed students alone (controlling for depression). The significant negative correlation
between GSQ score and GPA supports our initial hypothesis that poor sleep quality is associated with
lower academic performance for nondepressed students. This hypothesis is also supported by the
finding that in our subject population nondepressed students with clinically poor sleep quality had
significantly lower GPAs than

Cause and Effect Essay – The Impact of Stereotypes
In today's society, our natural reaction is to put people into a specific class that we feel they fit
into upon our first impression. When we were in high school, they were called clicks. There were
your jocks and your cheerleaders, who were usually the most popular students. Along with stoners,
nerds, and then the people who really didn't fit into any crowd, they were just there. When we
were in high school, all of us wanted to be in the "cool crowd". As described in When I was growing

However, it is more likely that they never tried because of the discrimination or stereotyping of
them in high school. Our minds remember the things that are repeated daily and are implanted in
our minds. If you were always thought of as a failure, after a while you begin to believe that you
are. If no one has given you a chance to prove yourself, you're going to stop trying after awhile.
Some very smart people were stereotyped in high school so badly they never wanted to try again.
Those popular cheerleaders seem to think that they were only worth a "rah, rah", and stoners
didn't think that they were worth anything. In talking with a few of the different professionals
that come into my work, I asked them what type of a person they were in high school. A couple
said that they were they book nerd type, but the majority said they were the stoner type with long
hair and leather jackets, or they were the cheerleaders that we thought couldn't do anything. I also
talked to a mother who's son was considered a stoner in school, got bad grades, and never seemed
like he was going to amount to anything. Then, unexpectedly, he came to her and said that he had
been accepted into a culinary school in New Orleans. She was so excited for him then, but she is
more proud now. He has become a well know chef in a very prestigious restaurant called Casey's.

Cause And Effect Of Tornado Essay
Tornadoes What is a tornado? A tornado is a violent rotating column of air extending from a
thunderstorm to the ground. The most violent tornadoes are capable of tremendous destruction
with wind speeds of up to 300 mph. They can destroy large buildings, uproot trees and hurl
vehicles hundreds of yards. They can also drive straw into trees. Damage paths can be in excess of
one mile wide to 50 miles long. In an average year, 1000 tornadoes are reported nationwide.
Tornado
How do tornadoes form?
Most tornadoes form from thunderstorms. You need warm, moist air from the Gulf of Mexico and
cool, dry air from Canada. When these two air masses meet, they create instability in the atmosphere.
A change in wind direction and an increase in wind speed with increasing height creates an invisible,
horizontal spinning effect in the lower atmosphere. Rising air within the updraft tilts the rotating air
from horizontal to vertical. An area of rotation, 2–6 miles wide, now extends through much of the
storm. Most strong and violent tornadoes form within this area of strong rotation.

Cause And Effect Essay On Extreme Weather Events
Extreme weather events seem to be more common due to recent global climate changes. Changes in
climate events, such as floods, droughts, and hurricanes are the primary way that most people realize
climate change has consequences. Human activities have caused majority of the observable effects
on the environment. According to the IPCC, regions experience the effects of climate change at
different times, which alters some regions' ability to acclimate or modify (Global Climate Change 1).
Over the last five decades, many regions of the United States have experienced extended periods of
excessively high temperatures, sea–level rises, decline in snowpack and in some regions, floods and
droughts (Global Climate Change 1). Washington, a state in the northwestern region, is a prime
example of a destination that has experienced all of the previously stated outcomes. Washington has
two distinct climate zones. West of the Cascades have mild, humid, summer days that rarely past 79
degrees Fahrenheit, and winter days that range between 27 to 64 degrees Fahrenheit. Western
Washington also experiences frequent cloud cover, fog, and annual snowfall of 26 inches. In
opposition, east of the state experiences warm summers and cold winters, as well as annual
precipitation of only six inches (Washington State 1). In terms of liquid precipitation, there are an
average of 150.0 days of rain, with the most rain occurring in January with 18.0 days of rain, and the
least rain occurring in July with

  • 1. Writer's Statement Thesis Statement: Climate change is natural; however, advances of human society such as deforestation, industrialization, and the burning of fossil fuels, have increased the rate at which the climate is changing. My three major sources stood out when writing my research paper on climate change. My main source was Louis Bergeron's, "The World Can be Powered by Alternative Energy, Using Today's Technology, in 20–40 Years, Says Stanford Researcher Mark Z. Jacobson." In this article, Bergeron describes an energy researcher's plan to power the world with renewables within the next few decades. My second source was Marc Lallanilla's, "Greenhouse Gas Emissions: Causes and Sources." In this article, Lallanilla talked about the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. The Causes and Effects of Obesity Essay So much of what occurs in this world is a result of cause and effect. For instance, if a match is struck; a flame ignites, if water is put on the flame; the flame is extinguished, if more fuel is added to the fire; the fire gets bigger. A major problem in our society today, the problem of obesity, results from cause and effect. While many factors are involved, the causes for obesity are ultimately from choices made by individuals. One of the causes for the continuing rise in obesity in the United States is because the cycle of obesity, that perpetuates from parents to their children, continues. Poor nutritional and physical activity modeling from obese parents has a profound negative effect on their children, and if we are ever going to be...show more content... While fast food is not the best choice of food to eat, it can be fine if eaten in moderation, and if children want to eat fast food too much, parents should just say "no". Some parents blatantly state that they don't not have the control to resist buying unhealthy products for their children. They make it seem like they truly do not have a choice of whether they choose to feed their children healthy food or junk food, either because their children demand it or because they are are ignorant about other healthier alternatives. It is humorous to imagine a parent being driven by some powerful force driving through a fast food line or shopping in a grocery store and the unhealthy literally food jumping in shopping cart itself. It is a funny thought but that is almost what it is made to seem like. Recently there was a shocking story in the news about a toddler in Indonesia that smokes numerous cigarettes a day, the parents of the toddler say it is basically too difficult to get him to quit. There was an uproar from shocked parents around the world, claiming child abuse. While of course it is a tragedy for such a thing like a toddler smoking to occur, and in no way should ever be condoned, there is some hypocrisy involved there. Some of the parents who were disgusted by the story and condemned the toddler's parents are in fact hypocrites, for they are also guilty of knowingly making unhealthy choices for their children, that could be as detrimental to their Get more content on HelpWriting.net

General purpose: to inform. Specific purpose: After hearing my speech, my audience will know more what climate change is, what causes it and its effects now and in the future. Thesis Statement: Climate change is a very important issue that affects all of us, we need to know more about this issue. Organization pattern: Cause and effect. Introduction: I.(Attention–getter): When you look at yourself in a dirty mirror; can you see your image very well? No. The same occurs when the sun rays reflect on the sea and that reflection can't be released into the space because gasses in the atmosphere block their exit causing the planet to get warmer. II.Climate change is how the weather has changed in a specific area over a given period of time–usually 30 years. That means that changes in the weather could be variable or extreme depends on the region you are. We are seeing these changes every year as the seasons change; I.e. Usually we compare the weather of the season this year and the weather of the season from the past year. III.According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), "Climate change" encompasses global warming, it refers to the broad range of changes that are happening to our planet. That means the reason of Climate Change is because the planet is getting warmer and this heat is getting trapped in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Essay about Causes and Effects of Water Pollution There are many causes for water pollution. The main one is plastics. The reason for that is that plastics take four hundred and fifty years to decompose in the water. Also many companies use plastic and people throw it in the waterways. Because water can float and be carried by the wind, it can cause harm to unsuspecting creatures hundreds of feet from where it was originally dumped. Such waste includes bags, bottles, cups, straws, cup lids, utensils, six pack holders, cling wrap, fishing line, bait bags, and floats. The second highest cause of water pollution is ship waste. Ships used to take much garbage with them on their ships and dump them. This was very common until the government took action. They were giving sailors...show more content... Some of the businesses that contribute to the water pollution are businesses that repair and maintain motor vehicles, electroplate, operate printing and coping equipment, perform dry cleaning and laundry services, process photographs, operate labs, involve building and construct roads, provide pest control, preserve wood, and make Furniture. Water pollution doesnВ№t just effect humans, it affects are whole ecosystem. Birds and marine life are affected by it. More than fifty species of birds are known to ingest plastic. When they eat plastic, they feel full, so some of them die of starvation. Algal blooms are another thing that kills marine life. Algal blooms are sea scum, whale food, and sea sawdust. Algal blooms are bundles of fine threads, rusty brown, they have a fishy smell, and are common in August through December. Water is our main source of our life. We need it to live, drink, bathe, recreation, manufacturing, and power. We need water for almost everything, if we don't start cleaning up we will be in big trouble. Bunches of families dispose of chemicals everyday. It affects us drastically and we depend on it to be clean. Right now the government is fining people for illegal dumping. But that is all the government is doing. People in cities are organizing water pollution groups. A lot of people are producing fliers and giving them out. The are asking people to adapt a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Cause and Effect -- Procrastination Essay Procrastination "I'll stop procrastinating...Tomorrow." This is a mindset that is possessed by a majority of students today. Although putting off writing that English paper until the night before it is due may not seem like a big deal, it has many harmful effects. In fact, what better topic is there for that English paper? Very few are spared from the epidemic known asprocrastination. Even less overcome this issue. In order to successfully defeat procrastination, we must first understand it. According to the Merriam–Webster dictionary, to procrastinate is "to put off intentionally the doing of something that should be done." Another way of putting it is "to wait until the last minute." Procrastination is a very bad habit. Even though...show more content... With that being said, being overwhelmed certainly does not help. This can lead to forgetting important details and due dates. Another factor that causes procrastination is fear. Fear is a very powerful emotion. Whenever someone is faced with a difficult task, they can become overran by the fear of not being able to complete it. People who succumb to this are setting themselves up for failure. Whenever someone feels as if they are going to fail, they tend to postpone the task for as long as possible. This means that they often try to avoid the task all together until completion is absolutely necessary. In doing so, the number of tasks that need to be done increases. However, the time required to complete them does not. Perfectionism can also lead to procrastination. This is because a person is setting a goal for themselves that is unreachable. Whenever these goals are not met, they are a huge source of discouragement even though they couldn't have been completed in the first place. This will result in lower productivity. From here, it is nothing but a downward spiral. One must realize that no one can write the perfect English paper. Instead of trying to accomplish this, we should focus our time and effort on writing the best paper according to our personal abilities. However, no one should be satisfied with less than what can be achieved. All of these factors lead to the lack of motivation. Personally, I Get more content on HelpWriting.net

As many as one–in–three adult women is abused by an intimate during her lifetime. While only 5% of all annual violence against men is by a partner, 28% of all annual violence to women is by an intimate and 70% of intimate murder victims are women. Domestic violence is one of the major causes for emergency room visits by women and more than half of all injuries presented by women are the result of a partner's aggression. They often lose family and friends as a result of the battering. First, the batterer isolates them from family and friends. They become embarrassed by the abuse inflicted upon them and withdraw from support persons to avoid embarrassment. Many battered women have to forgo financial security during divorce proceedings to avoid further abuse. One third of children who witness the battering of their mothers demonstrate significant behavioral and/or emotional problems, including psychosomatic disorders, stuttering, anxiety, fears, sleep disruption, excessive crying and school problems. Boys who witness their fathers' abuse their mothers are likely to inflict severe violence as adults. Data suggest that girls who witness maternal abuse may tolerate abuse as adults more than girls who do not. These negative effects may be diminished if the child benefits from intervention by the law and domestic violence programs. Browne, A., Ewing, C.P. (1987). When a mother is abused, the children may feel guilty that they cannot protect her, or that they are the cause of the strife. They may themselves be abused, or neglected while the mother attempts to deal with the trauma. The rate of child abused is 6–15 times higher in families where the mother is abused. Most people who suffer from stress are college students because they have many things to do at the same time. Students have to balance their course work and family at the same time, and they have to leave their family problems in their home to be able to concentrate carefully on their course work. The university life has become a lot more challenging, and it's much harder than school. I think being in college can be extremely stressful because students have to do everything by themselves. This stress affects their attention on the class. Another cause of college stress is losing or gaining weight. Sometimes students do not have time to eat because of the work they have to do. According to Scott (2008), in the article about stress for college students "Some people think that while student study for first year, some of students they lost their weight and other gain because of academic stress" (P7). As a result of not having enough proteins and energy to stay healthy, some students lose weight. For example, before I came here to study my major, my weight was 70kg, but after four months of studying here and the amount of work I had to finish, my weight has become 61kg because I don't have time to cook, and I feel lazy, so I just eat simple foods and go to the bed. Also, my friend Abdurrahman who came with me to the U.S., he was 73kg but until now he has gained 9kg because of the stress which caused him to eat chocolate and ice cream when he felt bad. Because of this stress, students would not be able to focus carefully because they are unhealthy, so the brain may not work like some healthy person. Therefore, the stress on college students attributes to weight loss and gain. The third cause of stress that college students deal with is time management problems. The concerns and research have also been questioned and have even been called myths. Millions of people find themselves affected by these weather pattern changes and are concerned for their futures. Activists on both sides of the argument are very passionate and not afraid to attack each other in every way they can. Severe weather such as hurricanes had damaged land and crops, the effects of King Phillips War began to impact New England society, and colonists were being forced off of the frontiers by Native peoples. The Church and the government were in heavy conflict. And those residing in Salem began to grow suspicious of one another when some prospered and others hadn't (Marcus, p13). Suddenly people seemed very paranoid and soon residents were placing blame on one another and accusing each other of witchcraft. Relationships between people and families seemed to crumble in the light of hysteria as children accused parents and friends pointed out friends (Boyer, p67). Some confessed to witchcraft and saved their own lives, others refused to tarnish their names and proclaimed innocence to their grave. The fact that these people did not have freedom of speech and were proven guilty without any tangible evidence caused even more hysteria throughout New England. People realized that at anytime anyone of them could be pointed out and so the society fell even more. One can see the Salem witch trials as being an excessive representation of the social and economic changes taking place in New England at this time (Boyer, p67). Differences between those who accepted change and those who feared it are what divided the colony. The hanging of witches can be seen as the murder of difference or of change. Perhaps if they had not been so insecure about their methods of governing the colony, the Puritans wouldn't have felt threatened by the slightest change. It took nineteen innocent deaths for the leaders of Salem to even begin to see the wrong doing in their trials. The Salem witch trials of the 1690's had an immense impact on American history. According to the authors "the purpose of the present study was to determine if sleep deprivation and/or poor sleep quality in a sample of non–depressed university students was associated with lower academic performance" (Gilbert, Cameron. 295). It was hypothesized that by the end of the study, participants who had higher levels of sleep deprivation and poorer sleep quality would have lower academic performance (as indicated by grade point average [GPA] and course incompletions–drops, withdrawals, and incompletes) than participants with little sleep deprivation and good sleep quality (Gilbert, Cameron. 298). By the end of the study, the authors discussed the results in the following narration: To our knowledge, this is the first study to have found a relationship between poor sleep quality and lower academic performance using a large sample size and, importantly, for nondepressed students alone (controlling for depression). The significant negative correlation between GSQ score and GPA supports our initial hypothesis that poor sleep quality is associated with lower academic performance for nondepressed students. When we were in high school, they were called clicks. There were your jocks and your cheerleaders, who were usually the most popular students. Along with stoners, nerds, and then the people who really didn't fit into any crowd, they were just there. When we were in high school, all of us wanted to be in the "cool crowd". As described in When I was growing Up by Nellie Wong, "I discovered the rich white girls...imported cotton dresses...and thought that I too should have what these lucky girls had..." Our minds remember the things that are repeated daily and are implanted in our minds. If you were always thought of as a failure, after a while you begin to believe that you are. If no one has given you a chance to prove yourself, you're going to stop trying after awhile. Some very smart people were stereotyped in high school so badly they never wanted to try again. Those popular cheerleaders seem to think that they were only worth a "rah, rah", and stoners didn't think that they were worth anything. In talking with a few of the different professionals that come into my work, I asked them what type of a person they were in high school. A couple said that they were they book nerd type, but the majority said they were the stoner type with long hair and leather jackets, or they were the cheerleaders that we thought couldn't do anything. I also talked to a mother who's son was considered a stoner in school, got bad grades, and never seemed like he was going to amount to anything. Then, unexpectedly, he came to her and said that he had been accepted into a culinary school in New Orleans. She was so excited for him then, but she is more proud now. He has become a well know chef in a very prestigious restaurant called Casey's. The general consensus between all of them Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Rising air within the updraft tilts the rotating air from horizontal to vertical. An area of rotation, 2–6 miles wide, now extends through much of the storm. Most strong and violent tornadoes form within this area of strong rotation. Tornado Formation Tornado Formation Tornado Formation Click Here to learn more about tornadoes from NOAA. • 20. Cause And Effect Essay On Extreme Weather Events Extreme weather events seem to be more common due to recent global climate changes. Changes in climate events, such as floods, droughts, and hurricanes are the primary way that most people realize climate change has consequences. Human activities have caused majority of the observable effects on the environment. According to the IPCC, regions experience the effects of climate change at different times, which alters some regions' ability to acclimate or modify (Global Climate Change 1). Over the last five decades, many regions of the United States have experienced extended periods of excessively high temperatures, sea–level rises, decline in snowpack and in some regions, floods and droughts (Global Climate Change 1). Washington, a state in the northwestern region, is a prime example of a destination that has experienced all of the previously stated outcomes. Washington has two distinct climate zones. West of the Cascades have mild, humid, summer days that rarely past 79 degrees Fahrenheit, and winter days that range between 27 to 64 degrees Fahrenheit. Western Washington also experiences frequent cloud cover, fog, and annual snowfall of 26 inches. In opposition, east of the state experiences warm summers and cold winters, as well as annual precipitation of only six inches (Washington State 1). In terms of liquid precipitation, there are an average of 150.0 days of rain, with the most rain occurring in January with 18.0 days of rain, and the least rain occurring in July with Get more content on HelpWriting.net
