We would like to welcome all current masters students who attend the Technology Governance Masters
program to enter the Blog Entries Competition, offering the two best entries €50 each. The entry should
meet the following guidelines and be submitted by 14th May 2011.
This prize money has been sponsored by the Student Union, and was brokered by the Social Sciences
Faculty's Student Council.
Topics
Entries could treat any topic which is relevant within Technology Governance as a scientific field and as
an academic program. Topics include, but is not limited to, the following examples:
•A discussion of a contemporary issue or event.
•A piece about a topic that has been treated within the Technology Governance course.
•Personal experiences as a student of Technology Governance that might interest future students
Requirements
The criteria for judgement is – apart from being related to Technology Governance as a scientific field or
as an academic program – that the Blog entry stimulate discussion, is of general public interest and/or act
as a means for potential future students to gain an understanding of what the Technology Governance
course has to offer.
The blog entry can be of any length, though it is advisable to limit this to 1000 words, or to provide an
abstract version of a longer entry. As it will be published to the Technology Governance blog the
formatting is not of concern.
The deadline for the competition is 14th May 2011, for which a judgement on the winner will be
announced by the 31st May 2011.

Prize
•Two separate prizes of €50 each will be awarded to the two individual authors
•The winning blog entry will be targeted for publication on various sites online in addition to the
Technology Governance blog, along with the runners up, depending on the amount and quality of
submissions
Judging procedure
From among all submitted blog entries a short-list of five will be chosen by the study group. Selection of
the two winners from these five entries will be made by Faculty head Prof. Wolfgang Drechsler. The
decision of the Faculty Staff is final, and no correspondence may be entered into.
For the short-listing, no-one will evaluate their own entry. The Study Group invites class members to
assist in group meetings to review essays and finalise the short list.
