The Character Costumes
1. The character costumes Villain The Overall/Boiler Suit look: 41148000-4572000 This is my first idea for the attire of our villain. It is a black overall that could work very well. As well as being black (A colour strongly associated with ‘dark’, ‘strange’ characters in films) it is also very unorthodox (First of all for the reason that it is an interesting choice........... Overalls would help the audience paint a picture of the character job wise e.g Mechanic. And second of all it is has already been a very successful choice for villains in other films e.g ‘Leatherhead’ of ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ (Pictured above) and also ‘Pluto’ of ‘The Hills Have Eyes’). And for these reasons that’s why the boiler suit/overall looks is a serious contender for our villain Post Punk 80’s Casual look: 0041148000 The second choice I thought would look interesting is a Post-Punk 80’s look for our character. This is a more practical look than the boiler suit/ overalls look and with the look being associated with the Stanley knife wielding football firms of the time it would be very fairly easy to link it to our ‘Villain’. The look has been famously used in Football hooliganism films such as ‘Away days’ (Picture of Paul Carty..... Main character from the film above) as a football hooligan and also in ‘Eden Lake’ where the ‘hoody’ of the jacket is used to hide the ‘villains’ identities (Another upside to using a the post punk look) 41148003638550363855Victim/Hero I think it is probably best to a classic biker look as a can’t see how else we can dress the character, bearing in mind he’s on a moped and we are likely to film and portray our film in a hazy wet country lane. We could alternatively give him a hoody but this is much more ‘villaineque’ and would look very homogeneous if you use the same attire for our villain. This look has been used by such victims as the ‘Reprogrammed Terminator’ in ‘Terminator 2: Judgement Day’ (Pictured above)
