occur any where else on the body
†The two most common types of skin cancer is Melanoma and
Nonmelanoma
†Melanoma is more aggressive
†There’s also one that my dad had which is Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC)
which is also one of the most common
3. WHAT AR THE SURVIVAL RATES?
†For early-stage melanoma that is only located near where it started,
the five-year survival rate is 98%
† The five-year survival rates for melanoma that has spread to the
nearby lymph nodes or to other parts of the body are 63% and 16%
respectively
†BCC accounts for 80% of Nonmelanoma skin cancer.
4. WHAT ARE SOME TREATMENT OPTIONS?
†Surgery
†Radiation
†Cut it off
†Sometimes chemo-treatment but it has to be a cream
5. WHAT CAN BE DONE TO LESSEN THE RISK OF
SKIN CANCER?
†Use sunscreen
†Wear sunglasses (not to much though)
†DO NOT TAN IN A TANNING BED
†Cover up with a shirt for upper body and shorts or pants for lower
body
6. WHAT GOES WRONG IN THE CELL CYCLE?
†The cell will be
damaged and will
multiply in the wrong
place at the wrong time
