2. Description of Agency
EnAble operates 20 group homes and 2 work
centers in North and South Fulton County.
EnAble offers residential, day habilitation, and
personal support services to more than 100 adults
with developmental disabilities in Metro-Atlanta.

Provides the chance to experience and learn about
working. Supervision and support provided by EnAble
staff.
Provides skill-building classes.

Offers recreation through activities such as trips to the
Atlanta Zoo, the Georgia Aquarium, swimming at the
YMCA.
Offers personal support services to individuals in
their own homes or apartments.

3. Proposed Project
EnAble requests funding for the build out of our Day
EnAble
Services facility in North Fulton. It will provide
more classroom and training space. This is critical to
provide much-needed specialized training. Those we
much-
support will be able to focus on their specific area of
programming while the additional space decreases
distracting noise and confusion.
The expansion of our Day Services North facility will
allow us to offer our clients more varied
programming, training, and activity choices so that
they may achieve their goals.

5. EnAble’s Strengths
30 years of providing excellent care to adults with
developmental disabilities in Metro-Atlanta.
Metro-
EnAble is a positive influence in the community and
collaborates with several other agencies to advocate
on behalf of those we serve.
EnAble has an active volunteer Board of Directors
that works hard to give voice to each person served.
EnAble has developed a quality staff that is dedicated
to supporting the individuals we serve with the
utmost care and respect.

6. Agency Challenges
Budget Shortfall
EnAble is currently faced with a budget shortfall of $5,000
per person served. This shortfall totals more than $500,000
annually since EnAble serves more than 100 adults.
Agencies like EnAble have received only two small increases
in state funding in the last 20 years. Further, EnAble is faced
with the possibility of a funding cut since the State of Georgia
must cut $2 billion in order to balance its budget. Any cut in
our funding would be devastating.
Fundraising
Another challenge we face is fundraising in these difficult
economic times. Our three annual events have taken a
significant hit as our generous supporters have had to tighten
their belts and give less to EnAble.
