Greetings Ladies and gentleman. My name is Jonathan Lapointe, I am creative director at Skyline Advertising Agency and welcome to my social media presentation.
At the heart of business rests the relationships we create. What we do now strengthens the future of those relationships and as a result our business grows towards that future. Utilizing social media to create revenue is now and will continue to be a crucial tool in manifesting brand recognition and establishing a virtual voice within the existing online community of consumers.
The roots of social media, arguably, can be traced back to the first attempt at language and writing. It emerges into the modern world as the computer. The evolution and potential for the uses of the computer is only as limitless as we allow.
“Social media allows us to behave in ways that we are hardwired for in the first place - as humans. We can get frank recommendations from other humans instead of from faceless companies.” Francois GossieauxThe picture this quote is painting is an important one. It touches on human behavior as it pertains to the social platform of the virtual world the internet provides and its role in business. The casual social intimacy of the web lends itself to combating the concept of “the faceless company” and creates a platform for businesses to connect to its customers.
If we study the approach of some success stories we see that social media is a perfect space to gain brand recognition and create a presence amid the many businesses out there with a decent product or service to offer. Although social media, if used correctly, can open doors for any company it can also over saturate and manifest a presence that is perceived as a nuisance. As in any facet of life or business, it is important to maintain a balance.
