PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS
Dr. Jagannath K. Dange
Professor and Chairman

2. “No society or Nation will grow above the
level of Teachers”
3. Teaching Profession is both an Art and a
Science. (ಸ್ರಜನಾತ್ಮಕತೆ ಮತ್ತು ವ್ಯವ್ಸ್ಥಿತ್ವಾಗಿ)
Like an artist, a good teacher makes decisions
from both a technical and a creative
perspective.
Teachers develop their science by using
carefully planned fine-tuned lesson that
reflect an understanding of many different
teaching techniques.

duties and obligations(ನಿರ್ಬಂಧ,ಬಾಧಯತೆ).
• Ethics involves critical reflection on
morality, including the ability to make
choices between values and the
examination of the moral dimensions of
relationships.

The moral commitments of a profession ವ್ರತ್ತು ರ್ದ್ದತೆ
that:
• involve moral reflection that extends and
enhances the personal morality practitioners
bring to their work,
• concern actions of right and wrong in the
workplace, and
• help individuals resolve moral dilemmas they
encounter in their work.
7. • What is a Profession?
"Profess": a public declaration (ಸಾವ್ಬಜನಿಕ ಘೊಷಣೆಗಳು), a
commitment-ರ್ದ್ದತೆ (vows-ಪ್ರಮಾಣಗಳು) to serve for a good end.
• Professional Codes of Ethics
A code of ethics...prescribes how professionals are to pursue
their common ideal (ಸಾವ್ಬತ್ತರಕ ಆದ್ರ್ಬಗಳು)so that each may do
the best.
A professional code of ethics outlines teachers’ primary

instructional standards for the profession, which are based
on the following five “core propositions”.

those subjects to student.

9. • Obtaining NBPTS certifications is a rigorous
endeavor, and most states add a hand-some yearly
stipend to teachers’ salaries for those who pass
master.
• Research study shows that teachers who were
NBPTS certified tended to be more effective in
terms of student achievement (Vandervoort, Amrein
Beardsley, and Berliner 2004).
