3. Food
Most Samoans grow and catch their own food because there are not
many supermarkets.
Samoan people like to eat:Taro, fish, shellfish, coconut milk, chicken and
pork.As soon as the sun rises in the morning Samoan men go out and
catch fish in their boats.A Samoan Umu, which is a traditional above the
ground stone oven heated by glowing hot lava rocks is used to cook food.
The food can be placed directly on the rocks, wrapped in banana leaves.
4. Culture
Samoan art and dance are very, very beautiful.
Samoan artwork uses allot of dark yellow, brown and black. Patterns like
triangles and flowers and are popular.There are three main types of
Samoan dance.The first one is the Fa’aupati (slap dance) the second is the
Sasa (clap dance) and the third is the fire dance.
5. Daily life
Samoans have to build a fale and go to school even though it is
made up of islands.
A fale is a house made out of sticks and leaves.Traditionally has a
fale talimalo (guest house) and a fale fono (meeting house) where
the chiefs convene.
Samoan children go to school where they learn: Maths, social
science, computer science and English.
