Katmai National Park is a remote and beautiful national park located on the southern coast of Alaska. The park is home to abundant wildlife including over 1,500 brown bears, bald eagles, moose, sea otters, and sockeye salmon. Visitors can view bears catching salmon, hike trails, camp, and go on boat tours but cannot drive as there are no roads - one must fly to access the park. The climate is subarctic and the landscape includes the Brooks River where people have lived for over 4,000 years as well as 1,800 commercial fishing boats on Bristol Bay.

Katmai National Park
Have you ever heard of Katmai National park?
Well it is a beautiful place that has a lot of wildlife
and vegetation. Also, there are many things to do
in this wonderful National Park. For example, you
can watch a brown bear catch a salmon for dinner,
there is 1,800 commercial fishing boats on the
island of Bristol Bay. It is located in the southern
coast of breath-taking Alaska. Katmai became a
national park in 1980, also the Katmai National
Monument was established in 1918. At this
national park there is the Brooks River, where
people have lived for over 4,000 years.
2. Katmai Park has many interesting things to do
for visitors too. You can camp, go on boat tours,
fish, hike and you can see bears. One of the few
things you cannot do here is drive to this National
Park. There are no roads to get there. You have to
fly into Katmai because it is so remote.
The wildlife that there is in the park consists of
Alaskans brown bears, Bald eagles, Moose, Sea
Otters and Sockeye salmon. Also, some smaller
mammals are the Red fox, Wolf, Lynx, Wolverine,
River Otter, Marted, Weasels, Porcupine, Snowshoe
hare, Red squirrel and Beavers. The brown bears
are bigger then our brown bears because they
have a higher protein diet with lots of fish. Katmai
National Park is home to 1,500-2,000 brown bears.
The climate in Alaska is very breathtaking.
