Michael Brown Peace Sign Analysis
Although the image of Michael Brown in a red shirt holding up a peace sign that was initially
released may have just been the most readily accessible image to the press, it is not hard to
recognize how this picture can be seen as something that feeds into a dominant stereotype of young
black males as angry, violent gang members. Even the slightest, seemingly casual hand gesture (a
peace–sign) by young Michael Brown was apparently depicted as a gang sign by the mass audience,
which leads to the larger idea that a single picture stands not just as a representation of that
individual, but to all young black males that may be tossed into the same category as Michael
Brown. To draw national attention, and support from groups outside of the one

The Life of Aretha Louise Franklin
Aretha Louise Franklin also known as the Queen of Soul was born on March 25, 1942 in Memphis
Tennessee. She is known for being a solo singer, and also a very talented pianist. Soul, R&B, Jazz,
and Gospel are genres that she sings. Throughout her career she signed with Colombia Records and
has released many popular singles that would now be considered classical. Aretha became the first
female artist to be introduced into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame. Up until this day Aretha is still
alive living at age seventy two and has won many Grammy awards and considered one of the most
honored artist. Aretha was born into a family that attended church, her father who was a Baptist
preacher and gospel singer parents. She was the fourth of five children, and lost her mother from a
heart attack, four years after her parents had gotten divorced. Aretha was then moved with her dad
and siblings to Michigan where they attended a church named, Detroit's New Baptists. Her father
was recognized as a preacher and her talent was starting to peek out when she would sing at her
Father's congregation. She was mostly self–taught herself and was known to be a child prodigy, with
a nice voice and a gifted pianist. A few days after Franklin had just turned just fifteen years old, she
gave birth to her oldest son, Clerence. Two years later her second child was born, whom she named
Edward. The father of Clerence and Edward was never known, because Aretha never revealed the
man's identity. Both of her

Eimeria Coccidiosis
Eimeria Spp. or coccidiosis is a parasitic disease that is seen universally, most commonly in young
animals housed or confined in small areas contaminated with oocysts. Coccidiosis is usually an
acute invasion and destruction of intestinal mucosa by protozoa of the genera Eimeria or Isospora.
Infection results from ingestion of infective oocysts and can affect all kinds of animals such as
cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, poultry and rabbits. Clinical signs of coccidiosis are due to destruction of
the intestinal epithelium and, frequently, the underlying connective tissue of the mucosa. Clinical
signs include diarrhea, fever, inappetence, weight loss, emaciation, and in extreme cases, death. This
may be accompanied by hemorrhage into the lumen of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finding appreciable numbers of oocysts of pathogenic species in the feces is diagnostic, but because
diarrhea may precede the heavy output of oocysts by 1to 2 days and may continue after the oocyst
discharge has returned to low levels, it is not always possible to find oocysts in a single fecal
sample. Multiple fecal examinations of one animal or single fecal examinations of animals housed
in the same environment may be required. The results of fecal examinations must be related to
clinical signs and intestinal lesions. The finding of numerous oocysts of a nonpathogenic species
concurrent with diarrhea does not constitute a diagnosis of clinical coccidiosis. The life cycles of
Eimeria are self–limiting and end spontaneously within a few weeks unless reinfection occurs. The
use of medication may slow or inhibit development of stages resulting from reinfection and can
shorten the length of illness, reduce discharge of oocysts, alleviate hemorrhage and diarrhea, and
lessen the likelihood of secondary infections and death. Sick animals should be isolated and treated
individually whenever possible to ensure delivery of therapeutic drug levels and to prevent exposure
of other animals. Treatment for clinical coccidiosis has not been demonstrated for any

Canada Without Graphic Design
The term graphic design was coined in 1922 by William Addison Dwiggins, who used the term to
describe his process of designing books, as a combination of typesetting, illustration and design, The
father of graphic design is considered to be Paul Rand who made the most iconic poster in history
when we used the stripes of a bee in his poster to make the M In his clients name. it was with these
men that the beginning of creative advertisement sprang free We see it every single day, every time
you log into social media, everything you buy, the logos you look for to find your favourite drinks.
Advertisements, logos, website pages, brochures, magazines, these things that we see every single

Gun Control Portrayal Analysis
Gun control has been debated in American History for decades yet it still persists today. We need to
take a step back as a nation and examine the driving force behind gun control and gun violence in
America. This is becoming a serious problem, because every mass shooting takes more lives. The
government continues to sit at a standstill with regard to gun control. The Republicans have no
desire to restrict Americans' second amendment right to bear arms. However, Democrats don't
intend to take away an American's right, they seek to limit and remove high caliber guns from the
market. Americans are on different sides when it comes to gun control, but there are those who try to
push their opinions in different forms. American culture is and always has been represented through
political cartoons. They can say a lot about the illustrator's viewpoints and how they are
representative of America through color and context. The political cartoon I chose was on gun
control or the lack thereof. The cartoon is of a man standing behind a counter of a store called "GOP
GUNS and GORE" and the sign says that this store is opened 24/7. The man behind the counter is
handing another man a gun with a black shirt that says "kill." The salesman is saying, "You're on the
federal watchlist. But we still want you to have this." The man is standing behind a sign that says,
"Terrorists, please form single line." There are men that stand on said line. All around the store there
are signs on the wall

Child Neglect Effect
Child neglect is a form of abuse and is the most common maltreatment reported in Canada. Neglect
has many detrimental effects. However, there are ways to recognize the signs as well as preventative
measures and treatment options.
Neglect and its effects Neglect happens when a parent or caregiver does not adhere to parental and
care giving obligations, which includes the physical, emotional, and educational well being of their
child. Poor nutrition effects physical and psychological development. If proper nutrients are not
provided during growth periods this will affect physical growth. Stunted growth, chronic medical
conditions, inadequate bone and muscle growth and neurological development are all affects of poor
nutrition. Additionally, brain–processing problems make it difficult for children to understand social
relationships, understand direction and understand academic tasks. Neglect is also linked to mental
health problems such as, depression and anxiety. Studies found that children who reported a history
of childhood neglect were three times more likely to suffer from depression than children who were
not maltreated. In conclusion, neglect poses severe and life altering consequences and can even
result in death.

There are various physical and behavioural signs of neglect; being left unsupervised, abandonment,
poor growth, poor hygiene, low self esteem, absenteeism, poor social skills and living in an unsafe
environment are just part of an exhaustive list of signs. An example of neglect is seen in a child who
is malnourished and resorts to begging or stealing food. Dentists can also see signs of neglect. Tooth
decay is a sure sign of neglect. Although,

Verbal And Non Verbal Communication
Communication is the art of transmitting ideas, thoughts ad knowledge from one person to another.
Communication need not essentially mean verbal communication. Communication can be verbal
and non–verbal. Non–Verbal Communication is the practiced means of interaction amongst the
audibly challenged community. This audibly challenged community uses a region or country
specific sign language to communicate their ideas and wants. Sign Language Translators are
essential to bridge the communication gap between the audibly challenged community and the rest
of the world. Today a lot of systems are being funded and built to computerize the work of Sign
Language Translator. These Sign Language Recognition Systems are Learning Systems. When the
system fails to recognize the word, the system attempts to learn the sign or gesture and recognizes
when the same sign is performed later on. There are many different types of Sign Languages and as
mentioned these languages are very region specific i.e., Indian Sign Language (ISL), American Sign
Language (ASL), etc. Each of the sign language holds a large collection of signs or gestures
corresponding to a particular. Many a time, there might be different gestures for the same word.
Major issue with these Sign Languages is that the information available about the gestures are
multichannel. This paper focuses on recognizing Indian Sign Language. In ISL there has been no
standardized dictionary as of date to use and build Recognition Systems. The

Drive Persuasive Speech
When your in a car what is it that your focus should be on: your car, the cars of others, the road,
watching out for pedestrians, or watching for lights and signs? Well driving is all those thing put
together and to add a phone to the mix is to many things for a single person to concentrate on. Some
state have made it illegal for people to drive while using a hand held device and, I believe that is the
right decision because while people are on their phones while driving they can: run into other car or
hit pedestrians. Have you ever seen a car that's run a stop sign or light? Chances are you have and
some of those times people are running late for something and don't notice it but i bet most times its
because a person was too busy talking on their phone or even texting. ... Show more content on

they drive? I myself believe that the safety of others if vastly more important than a single phone
call of "importance" or "need" than can turn into less of importance and need the more a driver does
it. I like that states are starting to see the problem with people using hand held devices while driving
and that they have finally taken a stand on the issue. When people are on devices and not paying
attention to the road and their surroundings then everyone around them is in very dangerous
situation because anything can happen between the time they pick up the device to when they put it
back down. So if your driving down the road and your phone rings let it go to voice mail or don't

Examples Of Silhouette Signs
The initial reaction to this sign is there are three people running somewhere; where there is one man,
one woman and one child. 2. My impression of the silhouette figures is that there is a father, mother
and a little girl with pigtails running by bending their bodies toward as if into the wind which has a
yellow color background and the word on it i.e. CAUTION. 3. The sign is meant to warn the drivers
about illegal immigrants crossing and advising them to watch for people crossing the road. This is
apparent because it is clearly visible and understandable. 4. The sign started to post in the freeway in
the beginning of 1990 when the immigrants headed north were hit and killed by drivers who failed
to stop the vehicle in time. So, after that incident, the sign remains. Even the text sign wasn't that
much of the help cause it was only a wordy, which state as "Caution Watch for People Crossing
Road". Then there were very deadly accidents spotted on Interstate 5 at Camp Pendleton, south of
the Border Patrol checkpoint where parents were killed in front of their children and children were
in front of their parents and the driver who hit them were left emotionally devastated. The Caltrans
graphic artist John Hood said he wanted to show this to his family graphically. ... Show more

Identify A Dangerous Cult Essay
Trying to identify a dangerous cult could be very hard, because the defining factors of a cult are not
always clear. "Officers should remember that no single factor, with possible exception of a history of
violence, will determine a group's threat potential" (Adam Szubin, Carl Jensen, Rod Gregg). A
group could show a lot of the signs that would be considered a danger sign, and be completely
innocent. Also, a group that is actually very dangerous could show little to no signs. If one had to
identify a dangerous cult, there are things to look for though. You just want to make sure you don't
act upon it until certain.
Do they have weapons? Obviously, that should be one of the main things to look for. Granted, just
because someone has a gun or a knife doesn't mean they are going to use it just for the heck of it.
They could easily be very paranoid or have it for self protection, but if they have multiple heavy
machinery weapons, then it may be something to look at.
Isolation could be a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, when cults talk about how the world is coming to an end. Some people may call that
crazy; which could be dangerous, not only to the person him/herself, but to the surrounding people.
Another sign could be manipulation because they can manipulate people into thinking they are
innocent. Also, they could manipulate people into doing what they want.
Most cult members are emotionless. They don't care about other people and really don't care about
anything. I believe that is a sign that indicates potential acts of violence because if a person is numb
inside, they won't care what harm they will cause. Not only to themselves but to others as well.
All in all, there are various amounts of signs that could be looked for. Not all cults will show all the
signs; some may not show any. That doesn't mean they aren't dangerous. Just like, some groups may
show a good amount of signs, but doesn't mean they are

Pros and Cons of Single Sign On, and Kerberos and Its...
Pros and Cons of Single Sign On In single sign on, the user registers and authenticates with one site
and uses those credentials for identity with other sites (Pros and Cons to Single Sign In, 2009). For
the user, it lowers the barriers to participation of registering with sites without trusting them first and
reduces the number of credentials with having to remember all the usernames and passwords,
making it convenient. The downside for the user is if that one password is lost or forgotten, the user
would have to start over rebuilding and online identity, which can be time consuming (Chng, 2008).
Single sign on is also highly susceptible to phishing attacks. Enterprises that use single sign on may
receive more traffic to their websites by using third party vendors, but there are things that need to
be considered. The site does not see the user credentials with single sign on. They have to trust the
third party site. Without seeing the user email, the enterprise cannot leverage the registrations
against revenue streams of selling mailing lists to spam companies. The dependence on a third party
vendor is without a legal binding agreement, so if the third party shuts down, the enterprise can lose
part of the user base overnight. If the enterprise wishes to send email advertisements to the users,
they could not do that with single sign on because of not having access to the emails. With most
enterprises being a result of mergers with divergent systems, this could present

New York City Council voted 47–2 to pass a legislation to remove "men" and "women" sign from
single–occupancy bathrooms, and it now moves to Mayor Bill De Blasio for signature, who is

The legislation orders all businesses in the city to remove gendered signs on the single–occupant

from multi–stall bathrooms.
In March, De Blasio had issued an executive order to allow people to use bathrooms and locker
rooms consistent with gender identity.

Managing Users in Heterogeneous IT Landscapes
One of the main challenge organizations is facing is managing users in heterogeneous IT landscapes.
Organizations are preferring the access control via role management (Franqueira, V. N. L et al.,
2012). With the evolving responsibilities, the system landscape is becoming more and more
complex and difficult to manage and track (SAP1, 2012). With SAP NetWeaver Identity
Management (IdM), we can manage identities and their authorizations centrally in both SAP and
non–SAP system landscapes. This comes with employee self–services and SAP BusinessObjects
Access Control formerly GRC (Governance, risk management, and compliance) (SAP2, 2012)
integration which helps in risk detection and mitigation and makes identity management more
compliant. Using NetWeaver IdM, a highly customizable framework we can provide joint
authentication for all business processes and a single sign–on as a secure identity management
solution. Driving factors for implementation of Identity management include a decrease in
operational cost, frequently evolving business processes with increasing complexity and inability to
de–provision a user completely. Many challenges come from the desire to grant single–sign–on
access to collections of resources that might have contradictory access–protection rules (Buell, D.A.

Literary Analysis Of Medea
Medea
It was very hard to be a women of the time Medea was written in. Women had to buy husbands and
she alone has to make the marriage work or it is her fault the marriage falls apart. Men could leave
their wives if they wished . Medea is set in a time that women were oppressed and had little to no
rights. Medea did everything she did because She was mentally ill, very isolated and a single
mother, but Jason as a man of that time did have a right to leave her.
Medea was mentally ill, and we can see this in the Euripides play Medea in lines 791–795. "I weep
to think of the deed I have to do Next after that; for I shall kill my own children." This explains that
Medea wanting revenge so bad would go to such lengths as to kill her own children. She also is very
depressed and angry when Jason first leaves her. "She lies without food and gives herself up to
suffering, Wasting away every moment of the day in tears. The illness Medea has is Clinical

common signs of Clinical Depression are "feelings of sadness/ hopefulness" Medea shows this sign
when she says " Ah, lost in my sufferings, I wish, I wish I might die."( Euripides, line 98). To
diagnose clinical depression the symptoms have to be severe enough to cause noticeable changes in
their personality. Which Medea does show on multiple occasions. Another sign of clinical

Oil And Natural Gas Deep Under The Surface Of The Earth...
Discussion point 1: In order to explore for oil and natural gas deep under the surface of the earth
Chevron uses seismic technology. Oil and Natural gas are mostly found in reservoir rocks. In order
to find the reservoirs Chevron employs seismic technology by sending the sound waves deep inside
the earth and using geophones listening to the bounced back waves. Geophones are devices, which
are used as electronic ears, which records the signal when the sound comes back from earth. The
sound bounced back and signal looks like a squiggle. When numerous squiggles are placed serially
inline. We can see the structures, which have a slice or cross section of the earth. And after
collecting the seismic data geologists, data engineers work on interpreting the seismic data to find
the formations and structures, which holds oil and natural gas reservoirs. And finally field team will
drill the specific locations according to the geologists report. Chevron has 50 percent success rate in
finding the oil and natural gas using seismic technology.

Essay on It244 Access Control
1. Access Control Policy
Due in Week Seven: Outline the Access Control Policy. Describe how access control methodologies
work to secure information systems
1.1. Authentication
Describe how and why authentication credentials are used to identify and control access to files,
screens, and systems. Include a discussion of the principles of authentication such as passwords,
multifactor authentication, biometrics, and single–sign–on.
Authentication credentials are used to control access to sensitive data or systems by making it hard
for people to get into the system who shouldn't have access. Passwords and usernames are a good
start because if they are kept secure, they are generally very hard to bypass. If they are bypassed by

Whoever has the responsibility to keep the data safe is probably the one responsible for dictating
access.
1.2.2. Mandatory access control
Describe how and why mandatory access control will be used.
Mandatory access is used to authenticate actions between a subject and an object. In order for a
subject to access an object it must pass a set of authentication rules.
1.2.3. Role–based access control
Describe how and why role–based access control will be used.
RBAC is a very efficient way to control access to resources. This is because access is granted to
select roles based on what the needs each role has to complete its job. Then, the person or program
is assigned to the role and thus will only be granted the access granted to the role they are assigned.
1.3. Remote access
Describe the policies for remote user access and authentication via dial–in user services and Virtual
Private Networks (VPN)
The policies for remote access, authentication via dial–in user services, and VPN's has to be more
strict than with general authentication and access within the work place. While there are ways for a
hacker to get into the system while following the usual work place policies, it would probably be
much easier to get in by one of these methods. When accessing resources remotely it is important to
have added authentication methods such as security questions or possibly some kind of portable
biometric device which can scan a part of the user and then send

Security Assertion Markup Language ( Xml ) Standard
Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML)
Susana Gamiz
Keiser University SAML
Security Assertion Markup Language is an Extensible Markup Language (XML) standard that lets a
user to log on once for associated but different Web sites. SAML is intended for business–to–
business and business–to–consumer transactions (Rouse, 2008). SAML states three components:
assertions, protocol, and binding, and authentication, attribute, and authorization are the three
assertions. Authentication assertion verifies the user 's identity. Attribute assertion has detailed data
about the user. And authorization assertion checks what the user is authorized to do.
Features
SAML has many good features that we all can take advantages of. One of its features is that it
supports single sign–on with numerous identity benefactors. Another one is that it also supports
alternatives for identity assertion and mapping the assertion identity to the user registry of the
service provider. Also, according to IBM SAML Single Sign–on Scenarios, Features, and
Limitations (2016), SAML service provider can map or assert SAML token attributes to the realm,
principal, unique Id, and group, and set them into the service provider security context. It gives a
plug point to allow for customized identity mapping.
Usage
As it becomes a general agenda for communicating security and identity data, SAML is being used
in a number of different ways, three of them are Web SSO (Web single sign–on), Attribute–based
authorization,

What Happens When Science Interferes With Your Sex Life?
By 2040, We Might All Be Dating Robots
According to a recent report, 70% of all relationships will be initiated via online interactions by the
year 2040.
Online dating is an incredibly useful tool for single men today, but how about experiencing an entire
relationship in virtual reality?
As Business Insider reports, the study, conducted by eHarmony and Imperial College Business
School, investigates various ways men and women will romantically interact in the future. From
eliminating awkward silences thanks to real–time artificial intelligence to having robots as romantic
partners (seriously), no topic goes untouched.
But what does all of this mean for you?
We've already covered ways you can use today's technology to get more dates; however, the future
of dating is a little more murky, and in many cases, quite grim.
What Happens When Science Interferes With Your Sex Life?
The report's findings aren't all that mind–blowing in theory. According to the report:
"The findings reveal a 'super–charged' continuation of what we are already seeing in the online
dating industry – that people want to be matched, and ultimately form relationships with, like–
minded people in the most efficient way possible. What's different is how people will go about it,
redefined by advances in science and everyday consumer technology."
There's nothing inherently bad about this. In fact, you might even say it sounds attractive!
However, the issue arises not with the goal in mind – to meet

The Disadvantages And Disadvantages Of A Single Sign-On On...
Name: Mojeed Oyeniyi
Assignment
1. What is Single Sign–On? What are the advantages and disadvantages of it
Single sign–on (SSO) is a property of access control of multiple related, yet independent, software
systems. It is a strategy that allows users to sign on to a computer or network once and have their
identification and authorization credentials allow them into all computers and systems where they
are authorized. Hence, users do not need to enter multiple user IDs or passwords which invariably
reduces human error, which is a major part of system failures
Advantages of Single sign–on
Increased efficiency and productivity – It brings about efficient logon process as users only have to
log on once.
It provides failed logon attempt thresholds and lockouts which protects against an intruder using
brute force to obtain an authentic user ID and password combination.
It can provide for stronger passwords. With only one password to remember, users are generally
willing to use stronger passwords.
When businesses have various partners, implementing authentication and authorization can become
somewhat complicated. With Single sign–on, businesses can centralize authentication management
and grant users instant access to all shared applications.
Disadvantages of Single sign–on
A major disadvantage is that it constitutes a single point of failure. A compromised password lets an
intruder into all areas open to the password owner.
Static passwords provide very limited security. Two–factor authentication or at least a one–time
password is required for access by the user using SSO
Adding SSO to unique computers or legacy systems in the network might be difficult.
2. Why is Media Disposal important? What are the bad outcomes that can be done if not performed
Media Disposal is the destruction of data on electronic equipment being disposed, transferred or
reused. This includes all forms of electronic media such as hard drives, solid–state and flash drives,
tapes and devices with built–in storage. Media that is to be discarded must be sanitized in a manner
that makes access to previously stored data impossible. Degaussing and repeated overwriting are
common and effective methods of disposing media that are to

Examples Of Inattention Blindness
Group assignment 1
According to the author's hypothesis in relation to inattention–blindness, when drivers are
conversing on their cell phones, whether hands–free or hand–held, there is a deficit in their
cognitive abilities. The results are impaired attention, with regards to their environment, while the
driver's attention is more focused on their conversation. Safety becomes an issue since these drivers
are not analyzing important information about potential hazards. In addition, drivers having
conversations with passengers in their vehicles were much better equipped to analyze their
surroundings and thus less likely to experience inattention–blindness deficits in their cognitive
abilities.
In the single–task condition the participants ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of everyday inattention–blindness occurs when we drive, in many different phases. We
get into our vehicles, fasten our seatbelts and off we go on automatic pilot, or, a perfect example of
automatic processing. We frequently hear one of our favorite songs on the radio, and it is natural to
turn up the volume and sing along with the lyrics. We get immersed within our favorite song, as our
minds become more focused to the beat and the words, that without realizing it, our attention is not
entirely being paid to our immediate surroundings. There is now a reduction in our attentional
capacity, or cognitive resources. We frequently change stations, and there are times we get caught up
in an important news story and unconsciously shift our concentration to the details within that
breaking news story. Other times our attention gets diverted by listening to our favorite disc jockeys
conversations that we find funny or interesting and inadvertently our attention shifts to their topic of
conversation as we listen intently with amusement. In addition, as we are driving it is difficult not to
think about life's daily demands that are placed upon us. We all have deadlines to meet and time
constraints become an issue. Our minds wander and while simultaneously driving we are thinking
about the errands we have to run, what needs to get accomplished for that particular day, how we are
going to allocate our time, as well as phone calls and emails we have to return, appointments we
have to schedule, and so forth. Once again, all of these distractions diminish our attentional
capacities, paving the way for us to miss potential hazards on the road. Our chances our increased of
having a possible car accident, running a red light, a stop sign, or even injuring a pedestrian we
failed to

St Luke's And The London Ambulance Service
When a terminally ill patient deteriorates in health, their next of kin or carer has access to care plans
and palliative care nurses for advice. However, they may not know what to do, may not fully
understand what to expect or may not fully grasp the situation, thus a 999 emergency call is often
placed to the ambulance service.
As an apprentice paramedic, I aim to take out–of–ambulance placements in areas of healthcare I feel
I will benefit from. One area of healthcare I self–identified as having less confidence in is end of life
and palliative care, so sought the help of my Clinical Team Leader in organising a placement at St

I began my placement in the In Patient Unit (IPU), shadowing the clinical ward manager and nurses,
as well as accompanying the consultant on ward rounds.
Ambulance clinicians often do not know their patients, so to observe a patient discussing their
treatment allowed me to gain a deeper insight into their feelings and wishes behind their decision.
This was eloquently expressed with "...there's no point being alive if you don't feel you are" by a
particular patient in regards to their pain relief regime.
By spending time in IPU, I hoped to gain a better understanding of the process of death – from
recognising the final hours of life, death, and communicating with the family. A patient was
identified to me by the consultant on ward rounds as approaching death. I was asked to observe the
signs from the patient, so these could be discussed with the doctor in depth. Some of the signs
identified were a cachexic appearance, terminal agitation, Cheyne stokes respiration and reduced
alertness. Over the next few hours the patient was monitored closely until they died that afternoon.
Before the patient died, I was also able to sit in on the consultation

The Proposal For The Kris Corporation
Overview This proposal is designed for the Kris Corporation. The company has concerns that they
would like addressed, this document is to provide solutions for those items. The concerns of the
company are as follows: Parent domain (kris.local) and child domain (corp.kris.local) for the
organization's AD infrastructure are running on Server 2008. The following are concerns related to
AD: (1) Kris Corporation is concerned about running multiple domain, and (2) automobile
manufacturers are asking Kris Corporation to use single identity to procure orders in real time.
Disaster recovery is a big concern. Physical space for servers is an issue at the Atlanta location.
Since all locations are independently connected to the Internet, file sharing is difficult among sites.
In this proposal the following items will be discussed with resolutions for each: 1. Active Directory
Why and how should the company migrate to 2012 AD? Should the company remain at multi–
domain model or migrate to single domain? What technology can provide single sign on? How will
it be configured? 2. DNS Where should DNS servers reside? What kind of DNS security can the
DNS servers leverage? 3. DHCP Will a form of DHCP fault tolerance be implemented? How can
DHCP addresses be tracked? 4. Hyper–V Evaluate the pros and cons of implanting Hyper–V. Would
it need clustering? What features of Hyper–V can Kris Corporation leverage? 5. Routing/Security

Business X UI Due to unknowns within the business, my first prototype would be a simple skeletal
design. The design would be a simple navigation to get users to a specific function that is required to
complete the task at hand. The first step in this process would be authentication, with two options
available. The first, and preferred option, would be a single sign on point. This would allow the user
to log into their email or single sign on portal to authenticate themselves. There would even be an
option to have them assigned to a specific department to ensure they only had access to the
functions they should indeed edit. The second option would be a system with a login function that
accesses all function through a simple navigation scheme. Post deciding on how many pages are
needed, the plan would be made on how to link everything together. ... Show more content on

Each of these departments would have at least two options, with the ability to add more depending
on the tasks that were needed. If there are copious amounts of tasks, I would elect a drop–down list
and confirmation to buttons, otherwise, simple buttons are easier to navigate. Now that the
architecture is planned, the scheme would need to be roughly thought out. The nature of the
application would be professional, and should keep a streamlined and easy to view format. Basic
fonts and familiar navigation systems would be used in a neutral scheme to ensure that the system
would be easy to use. If tasks were performed while on the go, we would offer a mobile version as
well. This is possible because of the simplistic nature of the design, but could be hindered if the task
being performed is too complicated. Here is a proposed flow of the site, and the top 2 tiers could be

Betta Splendens Essay
I) Background
Betta splendens, otherwise known as the Siamese fighting fish, is widely recognized as an
aggressive species of fish, as its common name indicates. B. splendens, which is native to Southeast
Asia, has an appearance consisting of a wide array of colors, ranging from varying shades of red,
yellow, green, and blue. In addition, female Siamese fighting fish generally have duller body colors
in comparison to males. Also, the scales of B. splendens seem to shine with different colors as the
angle of view changes. It is due to the hostile nature and the brilliant features of the Siamese
fighting fish that it was given the name of Betta splendens, as it translates to "splendid battler". As a

Two of the glow sticks will be blue whereas the remaining two will be red. However, in order to test
the effect of bright colors against dull colors, I will be wrapping one blue and one red glow stick in
wax paper in order to make their colors dull, leaving the other two unwrapped to give off a brighter
color. I will also use two male B. splendens, both of which will be contained in their own, two
gallon, plastic aquarium filled with water. To monitor the temperature of the water inside the
aquariums, a thermometer will be placed in each. One of the fish, inside its aquarium, will be the
experimental group while the other fish will be the control group. The experimental group will be
exposed to only one glow stick at a time, whereas the glow sticks will be absent from inside the
control group's aquarium at all times during the experiment. Cardboard will also be required, as it
will act as a barrier between the two aquariums. This barrier will prevent any light from the
experimental group being visible to the control group. In addition, the cardboard will keep both fish
visually isolated from each other, which will, in turn, prevent the two fish from being aggressive
towards each other and affecting the data. Finally, I will use a timer to keep track of the amount of
time that the experimental fish was exposed to each glow

The Shema Prayer
Their belief in a single God, the concept of the moral law prescribed by God and the idea of the
covenant are the base of learning for the Jewish to practice their religion. The Shema Prayer is
prayed 3 times a day and is the prayer which describes the three major principles that the Jewish
focus their beliefs on.
The Jewish strongly believe in a single God who is the creator and ruler of the universe. 'The Lord is
our God, the Lord is One' is a phrase from the Shema prayer that the Jewish strongly live upon
meaning that there is only one God and the he is eternal. God is unique and indivisible. He is the
ultimate source of all of creation and the most powerful.
Just like Christians and the Bible, the Jewish follow and study the Torah which guides them to
approach and respond to moral questions appropriately. God supplied the Jews with a ... Show more

The sign of the covenant was a rainbow.
Abraham : God's promise to Abraham was that his descendants will be as numerous as the stars and
he would be the leader of a nation. His people would be given a land of their own known as Canaan
(the Promised Land). The sign of this covenant was circumcision.
Moses and the People of Israel : God's promise was that he would help the Hebrews escape from
slavery in Egypt. The sign of the covenant was the animals sacrifice to God.
David : God's promise was that he would choose the humble Shepard David to become a powerful
and victorious king.
In conclusion, the three principle beliefs in the Jewish religion are derived from the Ten
Commandments, the covenants between God and his people, the Torah and the belief of one God
which are all expressed in the Shema prayer which plays a major role in the lifestyle of a Jewish
Individual. Without the three principle beliefs and mainly the Torah and the Ten Commandments,

Summary Of Language And Thought By Susanne K. Langer
According to Susanne K. Langer in the essay "Language and Thought," an essential difference
between animals and humans is the way humans think in symbols and signs, instead of just solely
relying on signs. Langer suggests that thinking in signs, which is something both humans and
animals share in common, is a process that leads us to react instinctively to the physical presence of
that sign. Signs are very much a direct cause to a particular effect. It seems that to learn a sign you
simply must be conditioned to respond certain ways to a specific observation. Symbols, though, are
exclusively human devices of language that provoke thoughts about a particular thing. The use of
symbols has allowed humans to reach much more complex levels of thought, ... Show more content

What I found interesting was just how many of these tiny visual cues made perfect sense in my
head, and were almost universal in their application. Why do Xs over the eyes indicate that someone
is knocked out or dead? How does the focus on an empty chair entice us to think about what is
missing? Why can we expect a story to be focusing on a flash back when the color drastically shifts
to black and white? These are the types of visual symbols that we have come to universally
understand on their own. While it can be suggested that these may as well be signs, because they
elicit the same response, keep in mind that the intent of the symbols may be different depending on
the context. Perhaps there is a focus on a chair because the design of the chair is the punchline to
some joke or the answer to a question. The black and white could of course symbolize a flashback,
but it can also be purely for artistic preference, to suggest a mood shift, or symbolize the color
having been drained from a character's life. Symbols are constantly evolving, and this is why they
cannot be confused with the much more static–natured

Secrets to a Pleasant Conversation During a First SSBBW Date
Are you ready to start dating SSBBW singles?
Before you sign up for SSBBW dating sites, it is important to note that other members have
expectations from you. You are on the website because you want to meet SSBBW, date and,
eventually, have a relationship with them. If, for any reason, you are not ready for more than
SSBBW dating, you should be very clear of your intentions. There's nothing wrong with making
friends, but SSBBW dating sites are made for a specific purpose.
You are also expected to be in your best behavior, regardless of the circumstances surrounding your
situation.
Dating SSBBW singles is no different than any other forms of dating. This means you need to

But in case you're wondering why SSBBW singles will be put off with your sob story, here's why –
they're not there as your therapist, but your date. Your attention should be focused on your current
date, not the person who broke your heart or kicked you on the curb.
Anything related to finance
Talking about money on your first date leaves an impression that you may be superficial or
materialistic. If you think women who judge men based on their job and how much they earn are
gold diggers, the same thing can be applied to you. You should also avoid bragging about your
financial achievements, especially if you end up making them feel inferior.
Sexual escapades
Talking about sex or any of your sexual escapades on a first date would make most people
uncomfortable. It also gives an impression that you expect more than a Thank You after the first
date, when it was supposed to be the first step to getting to know each other. There's no denying that
some SSBBW singles are desirable and you'll be forgiven for wanting them. Just not on the first
date.
So if you can talk about money sex and your ex; what is there to talk about? Plenty. And the weather

Michael Brown Peace Sign Analysis

  • 1. Michael Brown Peace Sign Analysis Although the image of Michael Brown in a red shirt holding up a peace sign that was initially released may have just been the most readily accessible image to the press, it is not hard to recognize how this picture can be seen as something that feeds into a dominant stereotype of young black males as angry, violent gang members. Even the slightest, seemingly casual hand gesture (a peace–sign) by young Michael Brown was apparently depicted as a gang sign by the mass audience, which leads to the larger idea that a single picture stands not just as a representation of that individual, but to all young black males that may be tossed into the same category as Michael Brown. • 3. The Life of Aretha Louise Franklin Aretha Louise Franklin also known as the Queen of Soul was born on March 25, 1942 in Memphis Tennessee. She is known for being a solo singer, and also a very talented pianist. Soul, R&B, Jazz, and Gospel are genres that she sings. Throughout her career she signed with Colombia Records and has released many popular singles that would now be considered classical. Aretha became the first female artist to be introduced into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame. Up until this day Aretha is still alive living at age seventy two and has won many Grammy awards and considered one of the most honored artist. Aretha was born into a family that attended church, her father who was a Baptist preacher and gospel singer parents. She was the fourth of five children, and lost her mother from a heart attack, four years after her parents had gotten divorced. Aretha was then moved with her dad and siblings to Michigan where they attended a church named, Detroit's New Baptists. Her father was recognized as a preacher and her talent was starting to peek out when she would sing at her Father's congregation. She was mostly self–taught herself and was known to be a child prodigy, with a nice voice and a gifted pianist. A few days after Franklin had just turned just fifteen years old, she gave birth to her oldest son, Clerence. Two years later her second child was born, whom she named Edward. The father of Clerence and Edward was never known, because Aretha never revealed the man's identity. Both of her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Eimeria Coccidiosis Eimeria Spp. or coccidiosis is a parasitic disease that is seen universally, most commonly in young animals housed or confined in small areas contaminated with oocysts. Coccidiosis is usually an acute invasion and destruction of intestinal mucosa by protozoa of the genera Eimeria or Isospora. Infection results from ingestion of infective oocysts and can affect all kinds of animals such as cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, poultry and rabbits. Clinical signs of coccidiosis are due to destruction of the intestinal epithelium and, frequently, the underlying connective tissue of the mucosa. Clinical signs include diarrhea, fever, inappetence, weight loss, emaciation, and in extreme cases, death. This may be accompanied by hemorrhage into the lumen of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Finding appreciable numbers of oocysts of pathogenic species in the feces is diagnostic, but because diarrhea may precede the heavy output of oocysts by 1to 2 days and may continue after the oocyst discharge has returned to low levels, it is not always possible to find oocysts in a single fecal sample. Multiple fecal examinations of one animal or single fecal examinations of animals housed in the same environment may be required. The results of fecal examinations must be related to clinical signs and intestinal lesions. The finding of numerous oocysts of a nonpathogenic species concurrent with diarrhea does not constitute a diagnosis of clinical coccidiosis. The life cycles of Eimeria are self–limiting and end spontaneously within a few weeks unless reinfection occurs. The use of medication may slow or inhibit development of stages resulting from reinfection and can shorten the length of illness, reduce discharge of oocysts, alleviate hemorrhage and diarrhea, and lessen the likelihood of secondary infections and death. Sick animals should be isolated and treated individually whenever possible to ensure delivery of therapeutic drug levels and to prevent exposure of other animals. Treatment for clinical coccidiosis has not been demonstrated for any ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Canada Without Graphic Design The term graphic design was coined in 1922 by William Addison Dwiggins, who used the term to describe his process of designing books, as a combination of typesetting, illustration and design, The father of graphic design is considered to be Paul Rand who made the most iconic poster in history when we used the stripes of a bee in his poster to make the M In his clients name. it was with these men that the beginning of creative advertisement sprang free We see it every single day, every time you log into social media, everything you buy, the logos you look for to find your favourite drinks. • 9. Gun Control Portrayal Analysis Gun control has been debated in American History for decades yet it still persists today. We need to take a step back as a nation and examine the driving force behind gun control and gun violence in America. This is becoming a serious problem, because every mass shooting takes more lives. The government continues to sit at a standstill with regard to gun control. The Republicans have no desire to restrict Americans' second amendment right to bear arms. However, Democrats don't intend to take away an American's right, they seek to limit and remove high caliber guns from the market. Americans are on different sides when it comes to gun control, but there are those who try to push their opinions in different forms. American culture is and always has been represented through political cartoons. They can say a lot about the illustrator's viewpoints and how they are representative of America through color and context. The political cartoon I chose was on gun control or the lack thereof. The cartoon is of a man standing behind a counter of a store called "GOP GUNS and GORE" and the sign says that this store is opened 24/7. The man behind the counter is handing another man a gun with a black shirt that says "kill." The salesman is saying, "You're on the federal watchlist. But we still want you to have this." The man is standing behind a sign that says, "Terrorists, please form single line." There are men that stand on said line. All around the store there are signs on the wall ... • 11. Child Neglect Effect Child neglect is a form of abuse and is the most common maltreatment reported in Canada. Neglect has many detrimental effects. However, there are ways to recognize the signs as well as preventative measures and treatment options. Neglect and its effects Neglect happens when a parent or caregiver does not adhere to parental and care giving obligations, which includes the physical, emotional, and educational well being of their child. Poor nutrition effects physical and psychological development. If proper nutrients are not provided during growth periods this will affect physical growth. Stunted growth, chronic medical conditions, inadequate bone and muscle growth and neurological development are all affects of poor nutrition. Additionally, brain–processing problems make it difficult for children to understand social relationships, understand direction and understand academic tasks. Neglect is also linked to mental health problems such as, depression and anxiety. Studies found that children who reported a history of childhood neglect were three times more likely to suffer from depression than children who were not maltreated. In conclusion, neglect poses severe and life altering consequences and can even result in death. Recognizing the signs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Communication need not essentially mean verbal communication. Communication can be verbal and non–verbal. Non–Verbal Communication is the practiced means of interaction amongst the audibly challenged community. This audibly challenged community uses a region or country specific sign language to communicate their ideas and wants. Sign Language Translators are essential to bridge the communication gap between the audibly challenged community and the rest of the world. Today a lot of systems are being funded and built to computerize the work of Sign Language Translator. These Sign Language Recognition Systems are Learning Systems. When the system fails to recognize the word, the system attempts to learn the sign or gesture and recognizes when the same sign is performed later on. There are many different types of Sign Languages and as mentioned these languages are very region specific i.e., Indian Sign Language (ISL), American Sign Language (ASL), etc. Each of the sign language holds a large collection of signs or gestures corresponding to a particular. Many a time, there might be different gestures for the same word. Major issue with these Sign Languages is that the information available about the gestures are multichannel. This paper focuses on recognizing Indian Sign Language. In ISL there has been no standardized dictionary as of date to use and build Recognition Systems. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Well driving is all those thing put together and to add a phone to the mix is to many things for a single person to concentrate on. Some state have made it illegal for people to drive while using a hand held device and, I believe that is the right decision because while people are on their phones while driving they can: run into other car or hit pedestrians. Have you ever seen a car that's run a stop sign or light? Is it so much more important for someone to answer their phone then to pay attention to how they drive? I myself believe that the safety of others if vastly more important than a single phone call of "importance" or "need" than can turn into less of importance and need the more a driver does it. I like that states are starting to see the problem with people using hand held devices while driving and that they have finally taken a stand on the issue. When people are on devices and not paying attention to the road and their surroundings then everyone around them is in very dangerous situation because anything can happen between the time they pick up the device to when they put it back down. My impression of the silhouette figures is that there is a father, mother and a little girl with pigtails running by bending their bodies toward as if into the wind which has a yellow color background and the word on it i.e. CAUTION. 3. The sign is meant to warn the drivers about illegal immigrants crossing and advising them to watch for people crossing the road. This is apparent because it is clearly visible and understandable. 4. The sign started to post in the freeway in the beginning of 1990 when the immigrants headed north were hit and killed by drivers who failed to stop the vehicle in time. So, after that incident, the sign remains. Even the text sign wasn't that much of the help cause it was only a wordy, which state as "Caution Watch for People Crossing Road". Then there were very deadly accidents spotted on Interstate 5 at Camp Pendleton, south of the Border Patrol checkpoint where parents were killed in front of their children and children were in front of their parents and the driver who hit them were left emotionally devastated. • 25. Identify A Dangerous Cult Essay Trying to identify a dangerous cult could be very hard, because the defining factors of a cult are not always clear. "Officers should remember that no single factor, with possible exception of a history of violence, will determine a group's threat potential" (Adam Szubin, Carl Jensen, Rod Gregg). A group could show a lot of the signs that would be considered a danger sign, and be completely innocent. Also, a group that is actually very dangerous could show little to no signs. If one had to identify a dangerous cult, there are things to look for though. You just want to make sure you don't act upon it until certain. Do they have weapons? Obviously, that should be one of the main things to look for. Granted, just because someone has a gun or a knife doesn't mean they are going to use it just for the heck of it. They could easily be very paranoid or have it for self protection, but if they have multiple heavy machinery weapons, then it may be something to look at. Isolation could be a ... They don't care about other people and really don't care about anything. I believe that is a sign that indicates potential acts of violence because if a person is numb inside, they won't care what harm they will cause. Not only to themselves but to others as well. All in all, there are various amounts of signs that could be looked for. Not all cults will show all the signs; some may not show any. That doesn't mean they aren't dangerous. • 27. Pros and Cons of Single Sign On, and Kerberos and Its... Pros and Cons of Single Sign On In single sign on, the user registers and authenticates with one site and uses those credentials for identity with other sites (Pros and Cons to Single Sign In, 2009). For the user, it lowers the barriers to participation of registering with sites without trusting them first and reduces the number of credentials with having to remember all the usernames and passwords, making it convenient. The downside for the user is if that one password is lost or forgotten, the user would have to start over rebuilding and online identity, which can be time consuming (Chng, 2008). Single sign on is also highly susceptible to phishing attacks. Enterprises that use single sign on may receive more traffic to their websites by using third party vendors, but there are things that need to be considered. The site does not see the user credentials with single sign on. They have to trust the third party site. Without seeing the user email, the enterprise cannot leverage the registrations against revenue streams of selling mailing lists to spam companies. The dependence on a third party vendor is without a legal binding agreement, so if the third party shuts down, the enterprise can lose part of the user base overnight. If the enterprise wishes to send email advertisements to the users, they could not do that with single sign on because of not having access to the emails. With most enterprises being a result of mergers with divergent systems, this could present ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The signs are not required to be removed from multi–stall bathrooms. In March, De Blasio had issued an executive order to allow people to use bathrooms and locker rooms consistent with gender identity. "As our culture continues to reject God's Word and do what's right in its own eyes, we can only expect things like this to increase," he added. The New York City Human Rights Commission released 31 different terms of gender expression employers must use or risk facing thousands of dollars of fines. For intentionally misnaming pronouns for a person's gender can lead to a fine of $125,000, while "malicious" use of the pronouns are liable to be fined at $250,000. Organizations are preferring the access control via role management (Franqueira, V. N. L et al., 2012). With the evolving responsibilities, the system landscape is becoming more and more complex and difficult to manage and track (SAP1, 2012). With SAP NetWeaver Identity Management (IdM), we can manage identities and their authorizations centrally in both SAP and non–SAP system landscapes. This comes with employee self–services and SAP BusinessObjects Access Control formerly GRC (Governance, risk management, and compliance) (SAP2, 2012) integration which helps in risk detection and mitigation and makes identity management more compliant. Driving factors for implementation of Identity management include a decrease in operational cost, frequently evolving business processes with increasing complexity and inability to de–provision a user completely. Medea is set in a time that women were oppressed and had little to no rights. Medea did everything she did because She was mentally ill, very isolated and a single mother, but Jason as a man of that time did have a right to leave her. Medea was mentally ill, and we can see this in the Euripides play Medea in lines 791–795. "I weep to think of the deed I have to do Next after that; for I shall kill my own children." This explains that Medea wanting revenge so bad would go to such lengths as to kill her own children. She also is very depressed and angry when Jason first leaves her. "She lies without food and gives herself up to suffering, Wasting away every moment of the day in tears. The illness Medea has is Clinical Depression. The website that had all the symptoms that medea has was MayoClinic. The most common signs of Clinical Depression are "feelings of sadness/ hopefulness" Medea shows this sign when she says " Ah, lost in my sufferings, I wish, I wish I might die."( Euripides, line 98). To diagnose clinical depression the symptoms have to be severe enough to cause noticeable changes in their personality. Which Medea does show on multiple occasions. Another sign of clinical depression that medea show is impaired indecisiveness. Medea shows ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Oil and Natural gas are mostly found in reservoir rocks. In order to find the reservoirs Chevron employs seismic technology by sending the sound waves deep inside the earth and using geophones listening to the bounced back waves. Geophones are devices, which are used as electronic ears, which records the signal when the sound comes back from earth. The sound bounced back and signal looks like a squiggle. When numerous squiggles are placed serially inline. We can see the structures, which have a slice or cross section of the earth. And after collecting the seismic data geologists, data engineers work on interpreting the seismic data to find the formations and structures, which holds oil and natural gas reservoirs. And finally field team will drill the specific locations according to the geologists report. Chevron has 50 percent success rate in finding the oil and natural gas using seismic technology. Authentication Describe how and why authentication credentials are used to identify and control access to files, screens, and systems. Include a discussion of the principles of authentication such as passwords, multifactor authentication, biometrics, and single–sign–on. Authentication credentials are used to control access to sensitive data or systems by making it hard for people to get into the system who shouldn't have access. Mandatory access is used to authenticate actions between a subject and an object. In order for a subject to access an object it must pass a set of authentication rules. 1.2.3. Role–based access control Describe how and why role–based access control will be used. RBAC is a very efficient way to control access to resources. This is because access is granted to select roles based on what the needs each role has to complete its job. Then, the person or program is assigned to the role and thus will only be granted the access granted to the role they are assigned. 1.3. • 56. The Disadvantages And Disadvantages Of A Single Sign-On On... Name: Mojeed Oyeniyi Assignment 1. What is Single Sign–On? What are the advantages and disadvantages of it Single sign–on (SSO) is a property of access control of multiple related, yet independent, software systems. It is a strategy that allows users to sign on to a computer or network once and have their identification and authorization credentials allow them into all computers and systems where they are authorized. Hence, users do not need to enter multiple user IDs or passwords which invariably reduces human error, which is a major part of system failures Advantages of Single sign–on Increased efficiency and productivity – It brings about efficient logon process as users only have to log on once. It provides failed logon attempt thresholds and lockouts which protects against an intruder using brute force to obtain an authentic user ID and password combination. It can provide for stronger passwords. With only one password to remember, users are generally willing to use stronger passwords. When businesses have various partners, implementing authentication and authorization can become somewhat complicated. With Single sign–on, businesses can centralize authentication management and grant users instant access to all shared applications. Disadvantages of Single sign–on A major disadvantage is that it constitutes a single point of failure. A compromised password lets an intruder into all areas open to the password owner. Static passwords provide very limited security. Two–factor authentication or at least a one–time password is required for access by the user using SSO Adding SSO to unique computers or legacy systems in the network might be difficult. 2. We get immersed within our favorite song, as our minds become more focused to the beat and the words, that without realizing it, our attention is not entirely being paid to our immediate surroundings. There is now a reduction in our attentional capacity, or cognitive resources. We frequently change stations, and there are times we get caught up in an important news story and unconsciously shift our concentration to the details within that breaking news story. Other times our attention gets diverted by listening to our favorite disc jockeys conversations that we find funny or interesting and inadvertently our attention shifts to their topic of conversation as we listen intently with amusement. In addition, as we are driving it is difficult not to think about life's daily demands that are placed upon us. We all have deadlines to meet and time constraints become an issue. Our minds wander and while simultaneously driving we are thinking about the errands we have to run, what needs to get accomplished for that particular day, how we are going to allocate our time, as well as phone calls and emails we have to return, appointments we have to schedule, and so forth. • 72. Summary Of Language And Thought By Susanne K. Langer According to Susanne K. Langer in the essay "Language and Thought," an essential difference between animals and humans is the way humans think in symbols and signs, instead of just solely relying on signs. Langer suggests that thinking in signs, which is something both humans and animals share in common, is a process that leads us to react instinctively to the physical presence of that sign. Signs are very much a direct cause to a particular effect. It seems that to learn a sign you simply must be conditioned to respond certain ways to a specific observation. Symbols, though, are exclusively human devices of language that provoke thoughts about a particular thing. The use of symbols has allowed humans to reach much more complex levels of thought, ... Why can we expect a story to be focusing on a flash back when the color drastically shifts to black and white? These are the types of visual symbols that we have come to universally understand on their own. While it can be suggested that these may as well be signs, because they elicit the same response, keep in mind that the intent of the symbols may be different depending on the context. Perhaps there is a focus on a chair because the design of the chair is the punchline to some joke or the answer to a question. The black and white could of course symbolize a flashback, but it can also be purely for artistic preference, to suggest a mood shift, or symbolize the color having been drained from a character's life.
