The document summarizes the tools and software used to create a media product. It describes learning to use a new iMac computer with different keyboard buttons than other computers. 2. Before I made my media product, I had
never used an iMac. When I first used the
iMac, I found it difficult as they have
different control buttons to any other
computer I have used. It became easier
as I progressed with my product. The
features of this iMac include:
• 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processer.
• Memory: 3 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM.

3. The keyboard and mouse for
the Apple iMac’s are different
to ordinary keyboards. They
include different buttons and I
have to learn new ways of Copy
and Pasting and how to print
screen.
• Print screen= CMD + Shift + 4
• Copy and paste= Drag
pictures off the internet and
placing them onto the
software.

4. The camera I used to take
the photos for my magazine
was a Canon EOS 60D.

5. I used a card reader to transfer
my photos from the SD card in
my camera to the computer.

6. This is the operating software
of the iMac. I have learnt to
use:
• Finder
• Documents
• Saving
• Drag & Drop
• Print screen (CMD+Shift+4)

7. To create my front cover
and my contents page, I
used Adobe Photoshop CS5
V12. I learnt how to:
• Layers/Layer styles
• Filters
• Tools
• Selections
• Saving
• Brushes

8. This software is used for print
layout designs. I used
Adobe InDesign to produce
my article. It was easier to
use for the text as it
wrapped around parts of
writing, which made it look
neater and more authentic.

9. To access my software I had to
use safari. I then used the search
engine ‘Google’ to access
Wordpress and Prezzi.
I also used Microsoft word for my
evaluation and to keep my
notes as well as Power point.
