1. Evaluating my photo story
My photo story is called best Friends and it is about a group of friends
where one of the girls gets left out and feels all alone. She then
confronts her friends about the problem and they all end up sorting
their problems out and becoming friends again. This is a problem that
happens a lot in friendship groups where someone feels left out and
then they end up making friends again, this is why we chose to do the
photo story on this particular issue. The story of the it is very basic but is
sometimes a major issue for young people and can really affect them.
The audience is for young girls (teenagers) because mainly girls have
this problem where they feel like their friends have fallen out with them
and they feel lonely which this is portrayed through some of the
expressions on the shots and the writing used too shows this.
In the photo story there is speech bubbles used, thought bubbles and
captions which are mainly required for a good photo story, so I think
that we did quite well in meeting the criteria which is necessary for a
good photo story. Also the amount of language we used in the
captions, speech bubbles and thought bubbles is just enough to inform
the reader of what is happening without there being too much writing
and boring the reader with a lot of writing. The writing is basic and easy
to follow for even younger readers as well as teenagers.
The types of camera shots which are used in the photo story are mid
shots of people who are involved in the story. Also there are pictures of
me on my own in some of the shots and at the begging of the photo
story there is a wide angle shot. We could have improved the pictures
by varying the camera shots by possibly including two shots which
would have given it more of a variety. Also the photos which are used
in the photo story are of a good quality and are clear to the reader of
what is meant by each shot.
I think that we could improve the photo story by laying out the photo
story differently and adding a specific design to the final piece of work,
so that it is more unique and original, this would also make it look more
interesting to the reader.
